A nurse on the run. A biker with a dark past. An unlikely match that will change their worlds forever.
Ryker Cole’s friend is dying, and his world is crumbling around him.
When shy and nervous nurse, Charlotte, walks into that hospital room, he is captivated by her sharp wit and kind smile. Their conversations soothe him, her presence keeping him steady, but Ryker knows she’s not for him. Women like Charlotte don’t belong in the world of the Kings of Korruption MC. It’s not safe.
Except, Charlotte’s already in danger. Her past has caught up with her, and this time, she may not survive.

I had a hard time finishing this one. I didn't feel the connection between Ryker and Charlie. I pretty much started skimming around 55%. Will I be reading Teases book next? Not sure. I am curious though. lol

Will she ever forgive him for what he has to do to protect her? Will he ever forgive himself?
💞. I really L💕ved Ryker in this book. I not so sure that I liked how easily everyone seem to bypass what the selfish sister did to start this crazy journey. Charlotte personality was somewhat lacking to me.. Overall, I liked the story & will definitely be reading the 2nd book in this series
➦📚 Hope you enjoy this read & also always keep in mind this is just my opinion ➦ 💕 so far I really liking this series, I can’t wait to get my hands on the next book
I originally read this series in February 2018 and because I saw that I'd raved about Jase's book on IG I decided to do a re-read. Apparently in 2018 my tastes were very, very, very, very, VERY different 😂
Right so this started off pretty good as Ryker meets our h as his friend Smokey is dying and she's his nurse. They run into each other regularly and though our h isn't a fan of bikers because she and her sister are on the run from another set of bikers, she feels safe with Ryker. When Smokey dies and she tries to comfort Ryker he leaves.
Ryker doesn't know why he can't stop thinking about the little nurse. He's fucked a lot of women but he can't stop thinking about her. He loves women and sex and he's had a lot of it( we get it you're a whore, stop repeating it!). Maybe he just needs to get laid to stop thinking about her because he can't bring a civilian into his biker world. Riker goes out drinking and goes into a room to have sex with a waitress who reminds him of the h. He isn't into it but she's got her hand on his junk and his hand on her breast when the door flies open and........gasp it's the h! She's been attacked and is bloody. He immediately pulls his hand off the woman's breast and goes over to the h to find out what's happening. He's stunned to hear the skank(oh do she's a skank now huh?) he thought about fucking is the h's sister. But his baby is in trouble so Ryker springs into action and takes charge of the situation.
Days later our h finally manages to ask him about the scene whereby he promptly informs her that her sister is a skank and he didn't even know her name so nothing is going on with them(what does that say about Ryker should've been her first thought but 🤷)
Right so they have sex and it's out of this world amazeballs especially for the h who'd only had one sexual partner at 17,but Ryker even though he's been with lots of (oh would you shut up about it!)
Right so they go to the clubhouse and the first person they meet is a clubwhore who he'd fucked repeatedly,(🤦) but he wasn't about that shit anymore. Anyway Ryker and his h sort their shit, the bad guy is a sicko and they ride off to the nearest clinic to check his dick for diseases....no??? Oh ok....... they ride off into the sunset.
What the fuck was I reading last year??? 😂😂😂😂😂😂 I'm reading the other books because something was good enough to make it to my IG!
Anna the slutty sister who was once a clubwhore for the other mc and who is on the run from those same guys because she borrowed money from them and who offered up her sister to a sicko in exchange for her debt and who didn't learn her lesson and was about to fuck Ryker..........gets her own book 🤢🤦😲
I thought I loved "baby" as an endearment but Ryker used baby and baby girl so many times he may have spoiled it for me 😭
A passionate, biker love story. It was entertaining, I enjoyed the characters and storyline. It was very easy to follow and what I was looking to read.
Charlotte and her sister are on the run from the Devil's Rejects MC. Moving away from their home they start their lives over in a new place. Charlotte takes a job doing what she loves, nursing for those towards the end of their lives. She gets a new patient who is a member of the Kings of Korruption MC but it nervous about being around another MC. Then she meets Ryker who instantly grabs her attention, even though he also makes her nervous.
Ryker isn't dealing well with one of his closest friends dying but the hot nurse that he can't stop staring at is helping. He makes himself stay away from her because he can tell she's a good girl and wouldn't fit in his biker lifestyle. But when he finds her bruised and bloody after being attacked he takes her under his protection. His efforts to stay away from the good girl are now harder then ever.
I liked this story and it kept my interest all the way through. We got to see a little of the softer side to Ryker when he was dealing with the death of his friend and I it made his character more relatable when he showed how vulnerable he could be. He was also a badass biker that would hurt anyone that messed with those he cared about. Both sides to his character were great and I liked him a lot.
I had trouble with Charlotte and just felt like she wasn't even necessary in the story because we never got to see any depth to her character. She was just there with almost no emotion. I got frustrated that she would never stand up for herself or be mad at those who deserve her anger, a.k.a her bitch of a sister. It would mention that Ryker loved the fire in her, but we never witnessed it so it made it hard to understand what she was going through.
There was a situation at the end that I thought really needed to be discussed between the characters. It threw me off that something that extreme happened and then wasn't really mentioned again.
Overall, I liked the story and will definitely be reading the second in this series. I just struggled with Charlotte and it ruined my reading experience since not being able to see her emotions made the situations seem unreal.
I love my biker romances. Ryker was refreshing without the over the top shock moments too make it feel like it has some grit to it.
The best was the heroine. I loved her character. Charlotte is sweet, caring and loving. She loves her nursing job at a facility for terminal patients. It gives her purpose to know that she was able to give family members/friends time to laugh, tie up loose ends and say goodbye to their loved ones before they die. I felt bad the only family she had since she was 17 is her older sister and she is a piece of work.
Ryker is a delicious alpha male hero who can also be gentle and caring. A bad incident from his past keeps him at arms length from her. He did have a few jerk moments. I still loved and enjoyed his character.
Awesome secondary characters that do add to the story. Look forward to reading their books.
Geri Glenn has a masterful talent! She gives off this spin of the story being light, and slowly draws you in, captures your attention, then wham smack you right in the kisser! Is there darkness...yes. What about intensity? Like with any good sex scene the buildup is sure and steady. Nicely written hahahahah! Now onto the review! No spoilers given....poor baby better luck next time! As a nurse you see all kinds of people. Normal looking, the strange...creepy, shit in your pants scary and then you meet him! Ryker Yeah, yeah says the brainiac who wears baby kitten scrubs, works in a nursing home helping dying patients transition comfortably. But in all honesty this is how the story sorta unfolds. Two of the most unlikeliest people brought together by an invisible clock counting down. One trying not to repeat the mistakes of the past, while the other can't escape them.
Overall Opinion: This was a cute mc romance about a biker and a civilian giving love a chance. It was sweet (for a biker romance) and there were some parts that frustrated me and made me want to hit Ryker upside his head. It was an enjoyable read. It was kind of predictable at times and probably won't go down as one of my favorites making it a lower rating @ 3.5 stars.
Storyline: This is Charlotte "Charlie" and Ryker's story. The meet when one of Rykers brothers from his mc is put into palliative care at the facility that Charlie works as a nurse at. The attraction is instant between the two, but because they come from different worlds they do not pursue anything. Charlie's sister is in deep trouble with a rival mc and some drama occurs that puts her under Ryker's mc's protection. She ends up moving in with Ryker for safety reasons and the sparks fly. The duo have some steamy times, some poor communication, some pushing away, some rival mc drama, some mc drama, and then eventually find their HEA.
POV:. This alternated between Charlie and Ryker's POV.
Overall Pace of Story: Good. No slow parts or instalove going on here.
H rating: 2 stars. Ryker. I get that he was a protector at heart when it came to Charlie, but I hated the route he took to protect her. His choices where a large part of why my rating was so low.
h rating: 3 stars. Charlie. I liked how she took care of everyone, but I felt like she was straddling that line where she would become a doormat soon (especially with her awful sister).
Sadness level: Moderate. Because of poor choices that were made there were some hurtful words, and I got a little teary because of the resulting feelings from such words.
Heat level: Moderate. Pretty tame for a mc romance, but steamy at times.
Descriptive sex: Yes.
Sex scene with OW or OM:
Cheating:
Possible Triggers:
Closure: I'd say it was a HEA ending, but I would have liked to experience them as a successful couple a little bit more. That's just me though...I'm sure others will feel like it was enough.
maybe if I read this five years ago!! I don't like these types of poor me heroines and then I saw her sister gets her own story later on and I'm like bitch hold up...no you don't get redemption... long story short I don't plan to read the rest of the series
I like the start to what looks like a promising MC read.Nothing too heavy except for the moment when the bad guy had kiddnapped the heroine and begin to physically assualt her, thank goodness the hero shows up. This book had a great heroine, she works in a palliative care nursing home as a nurse and this brought back such sad memories for me.I started out my hospital nursing career working on a cancer unit and finished up working in hospice care,so the emotions and situations hit close to home. The H/h meet while he is visiting his dying friend in the nursing home, instant attraction on both and they develop a platonic friendship until the H's friend dies and they part ways thinking that they will never see each other again. They do meet again after the heroine is attacked in her apartment by the bad guy and she runs to her sister's job .Guess who got caught with his hands playing touchy feely with the sister, yup, the hero.He is stunned to say the least and goes to comfort the heroine . Thus begins their relationship,he moves her into his house and sends the sister away to another MC so she can earn back the money she took from this bad MC guys. This sister is bad news, always in trouble ,and while she is the older, the younger sister ,the heroine always took care of her.Only this time, she promised her sister as collateral to the bad guy. Some interesting characters that I would like to see in future books,Tease is up next, but Reaper, you are calling me. Some good sex scenes too lol,the only thing I did not like was the hero calling the heroine "baby girl", that really irks me,I don't mind "baby,or babe" but, please,no " baby girl".
3.5 RATING- I've been in a bit of a reading funk lately and this book kept my interest while several others did not. That being said, while I liked it and found it an easy read, I didn't love it. It just never got to that next level of being really good. I do think this series has potential though. I'm already looking forward to the next book in the series which this book leads into. I think the heroine may be blind... Blind heroine, bad-ass biker? Works for me!

Not a fan of biker stories but this one seem to be a nice story. Do we generally think bikers have foul mouths like pirates? Lol I guess my idea of them doesnt go with this story, dont mean Geri's wrong. Maybe they do as they kinda need to show tough and rough vibe..."bad ass" or so they say. Nah for me its stereo typing. Some bikers are into animal rescues and the likes, oh well maybe the opposite of the not so good gangs. Rough upbringing doesnt necessarily make you have such attitude...again, it's just me. But I love how Ryker's sweet and gentle side comes out with Charlie. I like the action, suspense and romance.May not be the type o f story for everyone. I'd say try to understand the world of these kind of men, not all that bad just like Ryker when the right woman comes your heart and mind will do a 360 on you. Thanks Gerri, very interesting world for me.
This was such a short quick read and yet so much happened. I like a book that's dark but not too dark even though the main character was a bit rough he was still a good person. I love that he was possessive obsessive and just want the best for her. I enjoy this book so much that I'm going to read the rest of the books. It makes me want to read more MC Motorcycle book.
I really enjoyed this book. Anytime there is a debut novel I'm a bit apprehensive, however Geri Glenn did an awesome job. I can't wait for the rest of the series to come out. There is some grit in the book but nothing too dark.
This book is about Ryker, VP for Kings Korruption MC and Charlotte Daniels, RN.
Ryker grew up with a shit dad who did something awful it's taints him. He never wants a close relationship, love or any sort of family. Charlotte(Charlie) is a nurse helping patients in the palliative care ward giving them happiness on their last days. She's had a rough life as well, and is responsible for her turd older sister Anna who never grew up and causes trouble. Both have experienced deaths that have caused them to not live life fully.
Ryker and Charlie meet while she is caring for Ryker's brother Smokey who is dying from Lung Cancer.
Charlie already has qualms about bikers because her bitch of a sister has the Devil Rejects MC after them but Charlie is clueless as to why. Needless to say, the Devils find her, beat the crap out of her and Ryker intervenes to try and save her. I can't go into detail because it will spoil the whole story, but if that was my sister I would have cut her ass loose because she is seriously fucked up.
Charlie is awesome, isn't annoying, needy or over the top. She's really sweet and has a good heart. Her past is really sad and her and Ryker are two broken souls who are connected in hopes to heal one another.
Ryker, because he is broken keeps Charlie at arms length not willing to let the past go, however I sympathized with him and understood why. But, as fate would have it, it steps in and crazy shit happens causing Ryker to wake the fuck up to stop being stupid.
It ends giving a glimpse of what book two will be about and I can't wait!
This story had a lot of potential. Unfortunately, there was too much of story telling and time skipping, over story showing and fleshing the story out. I really wish the author had taken the time to delve more into the story and given us more details. Basically, drawing it out and giving us more information and a connection to the couple.
With skipping over major parts, with time jumps, and just summarizing and telling us what happened with the couple, it makes the reader unable to make a connection to the characters. When the story started, it had started off strong - it even drew emotions from me at the heroines place of work.
What I liked: 1. Tease & Jase 2. Charlie wasn't ridiculous or winey when it came to Ryker. I liked how she dealt with her emotions with him in certain parts of the story.
I look forward to seeing what the author has for us in the next story. Keeping my fingers crossed that it digs deeper and gives us more details with out glossing over too much.
Ryker is a short MC read that kicks off the Kings of Korruption series. It’s currently free in the Kindle store. It opens with Ryker and Charlotte meeting while he’s visiting his friend in hospice. (where Charlotte works) There’s a definite attraction, but the two barely speak until an event reconnects them. This is the only “safety” thing that has upset some readers, but it’s not a huge deal. IMO, but here are the deets… That’s pretty much it, but there is some of the usual MC stuff… club whores around, slut shaming, and violence.
Bottom Line- There’s some decent angst for such a short book with Ryker’s hang ups about perusing good girl Charlie. Again, this is pretty typical for the genre, but we do get some good groveling-ish from Ryker. In a nutshell, I liked it, but there’s nothing really unique that interested me enough to continue on. (the rest of the books are available on Scribd if you have it) My biggest grump was the fact that the shit stirrers got zero comeuppance. Lying Lucy is still around and Asshole Anna was bailed out without even an angry word from Charlie…sigh *Safety- attempted rape, physical assault, and a jelly ex-club skank, but both are celibate after meeting. (except make-out sis scene) **Book 4, Reaper, will be her sis Anna’s book, and I am a smidge curious to see how GG tries to redeem her, but I don’t think it’ll be enough for me. I’m assuming she’ll have some sort of traumatic event revealed that caused her to be such a selfish bitch, but we we’re given too many facts (for me) to overcome. Pushing aside the fact that she was only concerned about her sis’s well-being (after her attack…that she caused) until Ryker (whom she just met) called Charlotte baby…then she turned jealous and hateful. We’re also given a slew of unsavory facts… We’re told she’s always been greedy and selfish…and that she’ll sleep with anyone. We know she’s 3 years older, and left a 15 yr-old Charlotte to care for their dying mom for two years while she partied, and opened credit cards in said dying mom’s name, racking up debt on clothes, jewelry and vacations. We know she continued to party while her 17/18 yr-old sis worked 2 jobs (while finishing HS) to keep a roof over their heads. (It’s hinted she was making her own money, but clearly states she didn’t help until they ate all C’s food and she kicked her out…so there goes that she got in with the baddies for trying to support her younger sister) Then when she maxed out the stolen credit cards, she borrowed money from the local MC to avoid getting caught. Then, when she couldn’t pay back the MC dudes, she promised her baby sister as a sex slave to the cruelest one called Krueger. (cuz he cuts skanks up) So yeah, I’m thinking even if she spins her into a drug addict, or a victim of abuse…that hole is too deep for me. This was her baby sister, not some friend or acquaintance she fucked over. Although Reaper is a TOTAL asshole so maybe her punishment is being stuck with him. Regardless, I’m not that curious. 🤣
Heroine was at times too meek. Then she was brave and strong. But she was definitely more soft than anything else. Ryker was nice, then a total ass, then sweet, but always protective.
Her sister was a total selfish bitch. I could not believe Charlie defended her!
4.5 stars I hesitated about one clicking this book because it was a new author with an unknown writing style, quality, etc. I'm very happy I broke down and one clicked. For a new author, this one shows other new authors how it should be done. I love good biker/mc romances with a little grit, a little angst, a really hot alpha male who can be strong but compassionate also. This author met all of my requirements in spades. I really liked the main characters and she drew me into the secondary characters easily. I very much look forward to the next book in this series.
A very meh read. I liked Ryker but the heroine is waaaay too weak and way too doormaty for my liking. Don't even get my started on that trashy sister Anna. *eye roll I really didn't like how all these guys referred to women as 'bitches'. Also, the characters could use a bit more development, especially our sis Charlie. I didn't love it but it wasn't bad. I might actually try other stories from the series.
Ryker is an alpha biker every woman wants as her man...He's charming, sexy, gorgeous , protective and bad ass all combined into one hunk of burning love! I definitely think everyone that likes mc books should read this one!
Something seemed off about this story/book and I can't quite put my finger on it. I never connected emotionally with the characters and I didn't see the chemistry that Ryker and Charlotte had. Throughout the story, it felt like the story was told at me instead of me being present while everything happened.
I liked Charlotte as a character. She had a backbone and stood up for what she thought was right. I understood her protective nature towards her sister, but I don't think what her sister did to her ever really sunk in. Had I been in her shoes, I would never want to see her again. I'm stubborn, I'm happy to admit to it.
I don't know how I feel towards Ryker. He had this hot and cold thing going on with Charlotte and it got annoying after the first time. I can understand he had to work everything out in his head to let Charlotte in, but he doesn't get the right to play with her feelings during that period of time.
The ending was predictable. It was made even more obvious when Charlotte decided to run away (why has this been a theme in the books I've been reading lately?). I was so disconnected from the characters by that point that I found myself thinking "everything that happens to you after this point is your own damned fault". It's cruel and a punishment no one deserves, but my head just wasn't in the story anymore.
The Audio Book:
This is one of the few times I'm probably going to say this, but I loved Roger's narration. His voices were very relaxing and I liked how he made an effort to make the female voices more high pitched and less gruff than his own. Jayne's narration was nice as well. I could always tell the character's apart from both narrators intonations.
Charlotte and her sister Anna are starting afresh, they're moved from Toronto to Ottawa after Anna got into trouble with the Devil's Rejects MC. While Anna is wild, selfish and spoilt Charlotte is kind and compassionate and terrified of bikers, her sister is the only family she has left and she'd do anything for her. Ryker is the VP of the Kings of Korruption MC in fact the MC is all he knows, he's grown up in the club and while he's instantly attracted to Charlotte he knows she's not cut out for his life but can he stay away? I enjoyed this book and the Kings characters especially Jase, Reaper and Tease the only problem I had really was Charlotte I just wanted her to be more assertive. I nearly didn't read this book, I'd downloaded 'Tease' the second book when I thought I'd check out the first one but after reading the blurb I wasn't sure. Why? I don't like books where one character repeatedly takes total advantage and another is a martyr and that's what I expected here but I knew Tease would be introduced and I didn't want to miss anything so I settled on downloading the sample and going from there. The sample was good and it didn't look like Charlotte was a complete pushover so not what I'd feared but it would have worked better for me if she'd just had a bit more backbone on occasion. It's straight into 'Tease' for me now.
This book had me in tears, 14% of the way into it. Charlotte is a palliative care nurse. She works with patients that are dying. Smokey is from the Kings of Korruption MC. She meets a bunch of his biker friends and is scared of all of them but one. What is it about a guy with blue eyes and a dimple that just makes your heart soar? While some of the guys that scare her are trying to do just that, getting in her face about their brother who is dying and not sounding right as he breathes, Ryker comes to her rescue. When she is assaulted in her own apartment, by a member of another MC that she and her sister fled from, she goes to her sister's work place, only to find her otherwise occupied with Ryker. Ryker sees her walk in, bleeding, bruised, and her clothing torn and immediately grabs her and takes her into the back room, brothers coming at his call to help her. They find out why she was attacked and by whom. They're not happy. Watch as the story between Charlotte and Ryker unfolds. I cannot wait for Tease's book in November.

Charlotte has always been there for he self absorbed sister and when her latest antics has them on the run, Charlotte dug in and set about making a new life for them in a new city. Charlotte works as a nurse for those suffering and towards the end of their life. When she meets her new patient she is met with trepidation as he is part of the Devil's Rejects Motorcycle Club. The reason they ran in the first place was because of another MC.
Ryker is entranced with the hot nurse caring for his closest fan. However she radiates good girl and there is no place in his life for a good girl. Ryker doesn't want an old lady and when he finds out she is in danger he pulls her in for protection but at the same time tries to keep his distance. Will he give in to the pull he feels for her or let the best thing walk out of his life?
Overall great story did have one thing that bothered me where her sister was concerned. A bit angsty but the overall story was entertaining and you were pulled in. Great read for biker story.
I liked Charlotte at the beginning, she seemed nice but had nerve. She was good with Smokey and Ryker in the beginning but everything from Kreugers attack forward is just a hott mess.
She walks in on Ryker fucking around with her sister - who is arguable a terrible person which makes Charlottes attempts at helping her feel pathetic/stupid rather than brave.
She easily moves passed that moment just accepting that her sister is a slut so it didn't mean anything to Ryker.... cool cool.
THEN they do fuck and everyone just blames her. Charlotte is the only one who gets blamed when no one told her anything to begin with. The whole thing is just stupid he doesnt claim her, leaving her ass swinging with the club brothers and whores, then is sad when shes hurt. It just is a pussy move all around and i hate myself for finishing it but I need some sort of closure.

Ryker was your typical insta-love biker book. It had a little grit with the violence against the h, but the external issues happening like the mess with the sister were just too easily fixed or brushed away. The sister did a pretty horrific thing and it seems she just got to apologize then get her own HEA which was disappointing to say the least.
It was like a happy go lucky biker book with everything easily wrapped up. Not bad but I wanted more. It did have a nice cover….
