4.5 Stars. Audiobook review. Rampage is the fighter that gets along with everyone. He is easy to be around with a seemingly carefree disposition. Below the surface, however, there is a darkness and depth to him that few get to see or experience. That is why nobody really knows him... until Penny.

Penny's past has left some permanent scars that she deals with in a very specific way. She has kept a very personal but essential part of her away from those she loves causing there to be some distance that can't be breached... until Jack (Rampage).

I am glad I read this story first because in going backwards within the series, I appreciate the portrayal of Rampage as he was here more so than the slight contrast offered by the cameos in the previous stories. Penny seems to be consistent across the board, thank goodness.

The story contains BDSM elements that touch on the physical, emotional, and even psychological manifestations. It was written well with applied tact and detail. The pacing felt precise. The development of the characters was solid. Our MC couple is absolutely explosive together. The plot was interesting and executed well. I enjoyed the different conflicts presented because the intensity was steady and never wavered. There was always something going on. All in all a great read.

Safety: No others after they get together BUT Rampage does consider returning to his previous sub and comes much too close for comfort. No to rape. Yes to abuse.

Oh la la...this was unexpected...

well, i thought i was going to read about hawt alpha MMA fighter and well, i got more than i bargained for...

It was not exactly dark, but intense and deep in issues both characters dealt with...

He was a sadist
don't want to enjoy hurting you. I can't.

I'm not afraid of you, Jack. It's my choice. I choose you.

Christ. She's almost too good to be true. Can she really need what I have to give?

She needed pain to get a release...
We both need pain – you need to give it; I need to take it.

Penny Worthington escaped from the life in her native England, to America, in hope to find another life, different or maybe she only deluded herself with that notion, cause deep inside she knew she was wired in a certain way and she couldn't escape that, for much longer. Her past, childhood, adulthood were filled with emotional deprication and abuse that only intensified the feeling of being worthless, of being unable to find emotional release without pain, that was actually used against her in an abusive relationship.

Now, she's working as an attorney's assistant and she's joining Redemption, the greatest sport facility for training MMA fighters. She's surrounded with a tight circle of friends and she feels safe BUT not completely herself, as she keeps her secret of self-inflicting wounds when the cravings become unbearable.

Until she sees the similar „darkness“ in hot shot MMA fighter's eyes.

Jackson/Jack aka Rampage is only now gaining the recognition in the MMA circuit and he plays a perfect front for everyone around him. He's the cool, easy-going, friendly guy with a huge chip on his shoulder as he's keeping his deepest kink a secret from everyone, as that particular thing was the very same reason his affluent family of tight Southern traditions denounced him from the family heritage and business.

He's making a name for himself doing what he wants and enjoys and yet he's only complete when he inflicts pain, a huge amounts of pain, and the place where he extracts that and fulfilling his craving is in Club Sin

When the legal assignment takes Penny into that Club, she's faced with the curiousity of unknown and intriguing as she thinks that maybe she could also find her own answers here, and then her eyes fall upon Master Jack. The realisation of recognition sets the new light upon them both, as Master Jack is Rampage in full flesh and blood.

Their friendship is tested daily, the limits are pushed, emotions are stretched…
I'm gonna break down your walls, show you who I am and how strong you are, and how perfect we are for each other. Then maybe you'll understand exactly how I feel about you.

the denial, the doubts, the insecurities all take their tool on both of them,
He 's the right guy for me. But I'm not the right woman for him.

I am willing to change for her.

But I'm also not the kind of man who can find true release without pain. But for Penny I'm willing to try.

I'll need to find a way to be both the sadist and the man.

but after confronting the past and acknowledging the true feelings for each other
I want to love you without the pain. I want you to feel what I see. I want you to know that you are worth so much more than you got from the people in your life. You are strong. You are brave. You are worth loving. You are the kind of woman that deserves to have a man on his knees.

they both face the fact that they are right where they belong.

She is perfect for me. Perfectly made. A perfect fit. A perfect match.

„No one can give you what I can give you. No one can hurt you the way I hurt you. Do you know why?“

„Why?“

„Because no one can love you the way I love you.“

Emotional, intense, complicated, angsty...

Even if BDSM is not exactly what i'd go for, especially concerning the giving/receiving pain, this story is actually about finding the peace within oneself, acceptance and acknowledgment of your inner strength, flaws, kinks...and pushing boundaries...

but most of all, the notion that "normal" is just a word and not the "state" that labels something that's beyond labelling or putting on the "right" shelf, it s about the freedom to discover who you are...

and of course, love...it all comes down to love, in the end...

There were sequences of extra dominating, controlling, possessive as fuck alpha conduct but their opposites in sassy, smart and outspoken women brought the extra charge and sparks to the mix of fun, excitement, laughter...

And it sure KICKEd some ASS, baby!!! *wink*

Sleep...who needs sleep. Started in at almost 10pm and thought I'll just get started and read a couple chapters. Yep, you guessed it almost 1am and I was done with the book.

Loved Jack/Rampage and Penny. They are so perfect together even though it seemed to take a while for them to get together. They were hot no matter where they were. I've only read one sadist before (Soren and Nora by Tiffany Reisz), and this one was just as well done. Penny did a great job saving him.

The Redemption guys are so overprotective of all the girls. It was great seeing all the peeps again. Can't wait to see who's next.

I almost forget...is there a new series in the making with Club Sin where Jack is a member?

I remember I read Miss Castille book before. Also Redemption series. I remember I have a luke warm feeling toward it. Now i picked up another book, Fighting Attraction because of the BDSM blurp. I am expecting a dark, twisted and angst story.

But again, I get a luke warm feeling. The story is mediocre instead of dark and twisted. BDSM aspect also light in my opinion. The character development, character chemistry is also mediocre. With the theme of pain and pleasure, I need the plot to be angst, dark and swoony romantic.

Overall I do like this book OK, even though some part bored me a bit.

This review was originally posted on Addicted To Romance Summary
Rampage is the most infamous of the fighters at Redemption and his career as a MMA fighter is sky rocketing. He is a heavy weight fighter and trainer, and he is a friend to everyone even the little kids that want his autograph. But he is hiding something about himself. He came from the south, but he also is a master at a BDSM club and needs pain to get pleasure. He vows to never share his secret with anyone especially young and classy Penny. Who is innocent with a hint of wild but he knows he could never do that to her, cause her pain. Penny, on the outside seems to be a classy British gal but she has a wild side and unfortunately she ends up finding all the bad men of the crowd. Her father, past boyfriends and flings. But her heart is set on Rampage. And when delivering a notice to the club from her work, she is shocked to see her friend as a Master doing a whipping session and her mind starts thinking. Penny has a horrible past, and she needs pain to deal with the trauma. But while she explores with Jack the erotic possibilities, she wonders if she will be enough for him and what he needs....
Plot and Story Line
Now this book was quite the explosive romance and can I just say how fantastically pleased I am to see Castille back at this series. I fell in love with the first three books. Now in the first three books, she introduced some bondage play but it was much lighter than this book. So I was a bit overwhelmed at times with some of the scenes of this book but boy were they scorching HOT!!! Be forewarned, who needs the heater or the fire on when you have this book in your hands. hehe Even though the heat of the book was a bit too much for me at times I still fell in love with the actual romance and the way Penny handles our boy Jack. They both hide part of themselves and Penny is strong willed and I like how she is willing to explore other possibilities so she can see where their romantic relationship can go. Its not conventional but it works for both of them.
This is Penny. And I feel something for her--the kind of emotional connection I never thought I would feel again.

And it fucking scares me

And it changes too, I liked seeing the growth and the way these two help each other in various ways. Both characters are impressionable but Penny....she has balls of steel. Man some of the lengths she goes to in order to prove herself....yeah I couldn't do that and I was so impressed with her and her tenacity. I'll admit I wasn't sure what I thought of her in previous books but this author changed my mind.
I want you to see what I see. I want you to know that you are worth so much more than you got from the people in your life. You are strong. You are brave. You are worth loving, Penny. You are the kind of woman who deserves to have  a man on his knees.

The Cover
HOT!!! I love it so very much. It might be one of my favorites of the series and from this author. Of course Sourcebooks always does a great job but I just love the cover model, I just want to pet him.

Fighting Attraction is a scorching, hot romance that leaves you fully sated.....a tale of redemption, healing and a love story you will remember!!

Genre: Romance
Dual POVs
Triggers: Yes.

This book was adequately titled! It was a friends-to-lovers romantic story about MMA fighter Jackson Caldwell and Penny Worthington, a legal assistant. Jackson was a celebrity of sorts and Penny struggled with some interpersonal problems that she shared with him under very intimate circumstances. It turned out that Jackson also had some issues of his own and the two spent the entire story in a weird relationship limbo. Jackson fought his attraction to Penny every step of the way, all while "claiming" her, but not really declaring a relationship status, yet still needing to keep all other men away from her. It's this back-and-forth scenario that made this book feel like it was dragging on a bit too long.

There were elements of this story that I really liked: the technical fighting descriptions and techniques, the erotic scenes, and catching up with the gang featured in books one and two of this series. But Penny's low self-image drove me batty! She was a sweet girl, but she needed a few scoops of self-esteem on her plate and it was hard for me to take her seriously. Jackson also made me a bit crazy with his indecisive ways. I thought his character was so inconsistent at times: assertive in the ring and at the club, but melodramatic with Penny and dwelling hard on situations he couldn't fix when it came to his family.

This story is great for a reader looking for a high angst reading journey who wouldn't mind a few misunderstandings that briefly turn sour, but then are easily remedied. Overall, this was an okay story for me.

When you agree to read and review a book about MMA fighters, you expect some powerful words and scenarios. But what I did not expect was the powerful emotions and thorough connection between the characters.

The author has created a in-depth and flat out steaming hot read that makes you want to fan yourself in a few places, literally and figuratively.

Loaded with cringe worthy BDSM - heavy on the S and M, you need to be ready for the deep feelings and powerful imagery she brings to your mind. She brings you to the brink of pain and pleasure, along with the main characters but cushions it with deep feelings and a heady romance. Sigh

This book is not one you will put down easily but it will be one that is on your mind long after it ends. A great read for those that like a deep romance story along with a heavy dose of erotica. A bit dark due to the images the author crafts but a wonderful ending that makes it all so right.

What can I say that I haven't already said a million times about Sarah Castille? The woman can deliver one hell of a smoking hot read EVERY.SINGLE.TIME. Her heroes are ALWAYS swoon worthy and her heroines are KICK-ASS. Her stories may sometimes be a bit long-winded for my taste, but she never misses a beat on flow. She doesn't fluff for fluff's sake and she doesn't angst for angst's sake. She is a ridiculously talented wizard with words #TRUST

If you're a ridiculous fan like I am, you've been waiting for this story on the edge of your seat. For TWO YEARS people! I can't even tell you how badly I've wanted to read Rampage's journey. I'm such a happy reader right now!

CONFESSION: I'm not a fan of hard-core BDSM. I'm all about the kink and the filthy, but BDSM itself is not really my thing. There are VERY few authors that I will read BDSM by ... We can add Sarah to list now. The imagery that she depicted did not make me cringe. Opposite actually. I was delightfully turned on :) AND captivated by Master Jack.

This story was so much bigger than the sexual preference of our leads. It dealt with some serious issues that should not be taken lightly and were thoroughly depicted by Sarah throughout the story. As I mentioned at the beginning. Every word that Sarah writes has a purpose. She is thorough in her story-telling. And she will pull feelings from the depths of your soul. #TRUST

*sigh* How I love Sarah Castille's writing. She gives you interesting characters and a great story that you don't want to put down.

MMA fighter Jack "Rampage" Caldwell is hiding something. Underneath is his good ole boy charm, he loves dominating women and is actually a sadist. He hides it because people used that information to hurt him in the past. He has a wonderful friendship with Penny Worthington but knows he isn't good enough for her. She exudes kindness and innocence. What he doesn't know is that Penny has a dark side to her as well, and his kink is just what she needs.

This was dark and angsty. A lot of it had to do with the subject matter. A lot of it was the self loathing both Penny and Jack felt. Neither felt they were good enough and they had trouble believing they could be good enough for someone. There was a lot of back and forth between them...we're friends, we're lovers, we're together, we're not together, I love you, how could you not tell me. It went on a little too long. He groveled AMAZING though LOL

Although this is book 4 in the series, I haven't read any of the others but I wasn't lost at all. I adored Ray! I'll be going back and reading his book soon :)

Scorching … yeah – If I were only allowed to use one word to explain Fighting Attraction (Redemption #4) by Sarah Castille that would be it

SCORCHING…

There would be several novel that I could compare this book too (given that I as a blogger read tons of books) – but no matter which book I would use as a comparison – to each of them I would have to add a “like this… but only hotter”

I jumped into this series without reading the first 3 books (which I will do no for sure) – and it was also my first book by this author. And what can I say – I am a goner for her writing style – if the first books are only a little like this they will be awesome I am sure.

It is easy to read and follow as a standalone – just be aware that naturally you will spoiler yourself the endings of the first books as the characters appear in this novel again.

The leading characters were so well developed that you would expect them to be real. I loved their dialogues and the banter was really fun. There was enough though stuff going on to ground the story but the flirty and sexy parts made up for the darker moments.

The mixture was just so well balanced that it was real fun reading this book even if it deals with serious subjects. I liked that there was no miracle cure for problems that felt real.

Be aware that this is not a light hearted read at times – it deals with serious subjects and there will be BDSM included and I mean REALLY included not the “I-think-I-am-a-DOM-but-OK-I-can-change-myself-within-the-next-50-pages-now-I-am-not” kind of way. ( I mean hey he is a DOM so that is no spoiler – but it seems that this still has to be mentioned as some readers still expect some books to be fluffy)

Rampage is a DOM but he is so different from most of the DOM’s you encounter in other books. He is not what he is because he is damaged in some way – he just IS – (even though he hates himself for being the way he is – yeah well its difficult to explain without spoilers) and the side he shows other people outside might be the one of an MMA fighter but yet he is fun to be around and a gentleman.

It was such an interesting mixture that I loved discovering his layers.

And then there is Penny – OMG – she is the epitome of a walking & talking contradiction – open a dictionary check “contradiction” and there will be her name beside it.

She is as British as it gets – but when you discover all her layers – its just wow. The fangirl, the lady, the lover, the sub (well not really but yeah discover that part for yourself), the friend, the tortured soul, the little girl. She is honest, reliable, keeps her responsibilities and promises (even when she hurts herself in the process) and she has the dirties British mouth ever.

So when that dirty proper British fangirl lady meets the southern gentle man MMA Fighter DOM – Sparks will explode and life’s will be changed …

Whew!! This was a hot one 😍 You gotta love a story about a sexy ass fighter who's into BDSM. It's all the good shit wrapped into one.
Penny, the prom and proper British girl, who has her own dark secrets, always chooses the wrong guy.
Rampage aka Master Jack is a MMA fighter who just went pro, and is into giving others pain at his Sex Club.
Penny thinks Rampage is super hot but believes he only sees her as a friend. After seeing him work in his club Penny wants him to cause her pain.
But Penny has secrets that could get Rampage into trouble and destroy his reputation. It comes down to trusting each other in order for a relationship to work between them.
Totally hot and sexy read. It can def be read as a standalone. Although reading them in order will give more clarification to the additional people in the story.

Second "can't-put-it-down" book I've read this year!

Penny and Jack "Rampage" were a hoot to read about -- especially when Jack would make note of other fighters and ladies circling around one another, when he was just as bad when it came to his "friend," Penny.

Two broken souls with deep secrets...

This was a redemption story for both the hero and heroine, and I loved every moment of it. There's plenty of set-up for the next book, too!

This was a VERY intense story!

Let me just say that the subject matter of this story isn't my cup of tea. I'm not an enormous fan of BDSM, but I absolutely HAD TO read this because Sarah wrote it. And I was not disappointed!

First of all, sexual content aside, this book brings up some pretty deep issues of self-mutilation and domestic abuse. While those are not pleasant topics, they added a great deal to the story by being the dark contrast to the light that Penny and Jack eventually found in each other.

Penny was so fun! Unsure of herself but also hilarious, I was really rooting for everything to work out for her. If anyone deserved a break, it was Penny.

Jack was great! Yes, he is also known as Master Jack, but he allowed his softer side to come out and play, which I loved. He, too, was fighting some demons, and Penny was just the perfect balance for him.

I met the whole crew at Redemption, and holy cow, I MUST go back and read this whole series! This book is totally a stand-alone, but this series is set in a gym full of alpha males who fiercely love their women...I just might have found my new favorite series :)

Wow I have no words after reading this book. I loved it from the beginning to the very end. It was full of emotion and it was just addicting.

This is the fourth installment in the Redemption series. I have loved all of the books in this series but I have to say that I think I loved this book a little bit more. Yes this was a little bit of a darker read but I loved it. I loved how Ms. Castille was able to incorporate BDSM into this book in a very tasteful way. These two characters were so much alike but they both had different reasons why they were the way they were.

Rampage “Jack” didn’t know what to think when he had daydreams of what he wanted to do to a woman. He never touched the woman he loved but she betrayed him in the worst possible way. But in the end he ended up doing something he loved on his own even though he missed his family. Then there was a certain woman that he secretly liked but he knew that she was too nice and innocent but he had no idea what she really wanted and how they would be perfect together.

Penny lived in a household where she was hit. Then when she started her first relationship the mental and physical abuse started. Penny got to the point that she almost committed suicide. She moved the United States and started living her life how she wanted. But there was a problem she sometimes needed to release pent up emotions and the only way to let them out was through pain. She ended becoming a cutter but soon she would learn of a different way to release her emotion.

Rampage and Penny were perfect for each other but they needed to talk. They needed to know that they both had a different view of pain. Penny didn’t need as much pain as Rampage but in the end she wanted to be what he needed but no one should be someone they are not. Rampage is an alpha male that takes it seriously when it comes to someone putting their hands on Penny, even Torment.

Fighting Attraction was an awesome read. Ms. Castille’s writing is outstanding I love how detailed she is. The chemistry between Rampage and Penny is steaming HOT. They were perfect for each other they just needed to find a way for them to get the release they needed.

I can’t wait to see who is going to get their happily ever after next.

Review for : Fighting Attraction 'Fighting Attraction' by Sarah Castille is book Four in the "Redemption" series. This is the story of Jack 'Rampage' and Penny 'Pen'. I have not yet read the other books in this series so for me this was a standalone book. I will say it appears these two met in a previous book as they are friends in this book. Pen is from England but has many American friends. In addition, she also has an abusive past with very low self esteem. This has lead her to cut herself to release the pain. Pen is attracted to Jack but thinks he is to good for her and with her being a little bit heavy he wouldn't be interested. Jack is attracted to Pen but he is a member of Club Sin where he is a Dom and likes to discipline subs. Jack thinks this wouldn't be something Pen would be interested in as she seems to be a 'good girl'. But one night when Pen is serving court papers she see Jack at Club Sin. Pen is taken with Club Sin and would like Jack to introduce her to that life style. This book took you to allot of levels with Pen being a former victim of abuse, self hurting and self esteem issue with Jack who also has past issue...but reading how they helped heal each other was great. *A Book Obsessed Chicks Review Team Selection*https://www.amazon.com/gp/profile/A2H... https://www.facebook.com/RomanceBookR... https://twitter.com/soapsrus68https:/... https://www.tumblr.com/blog/romancebo...

I really liked Jack/Rampage and Penny, their story is an unconventional one, they each have secrets but their secrets are what makes them perfect for one another.

The chemistry was great, I loved that they could be silly with one another and then in a blink of an eye have the air sucked out of the room with their desire. This was the first book in the series that I read and I have to say that it can be read as a standalone but I have enjoyed the others in the book so much that I plan on going back and reading the books that came before this one.

•••••••••••

REVIEW: FIGHTING ATTRACTION is the fourth instalment in Sarah Castille’s contemporary, adult REDEMPTION erotic, romance series focusing on the men and women of the MMA Club Redemption. This is MMA fighter Jack ‘Rampage’ Caldwell, and PA Penny Worthington’s story line. FIGHTING ATTRACTION can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from previous story line is revealed where necessary.

NOTE: FIGHTING ATTRACTION contains graphic scenes of BDSM focusing on the sadistic and masochistic, and may not be suitable for all readers.

Told from dual first person points of view (Penny and Jack) FIGHTING ATTRACTION focuses on the atypical relationship between MMA fighter Jack ‘Rampage’ Caldwell, and PA Penny Worthington. When the firm for which Penny works serves notice to the local BDSM club to vacate the premises Penny finds herself facing down not only the man who stars in her fantasies, but the man who is able to give Penny so much more. Enter Jack Caldwell, MMA fighter and Club Sin Dom. What ensues is the building love between Penny and Jack, and the couple’s struggle to accept the who and what of their unusual relationship.

Jack is a sadist-a man who likes to inflict pain on others. Penny is a masochist-a woman who needs pain to release the demons buried deep within. Together Jack and Penny are the perfect couple until Jack believes he has gone too far and hurt the woman with whom he has fallen in love.

The relationship between Jack and Penny is based on a mutual need. Jack believes his wants and needs are deviant, and past experiences point to a self-fulfilling prophecy. Penny not only desires the pain but needs the hurt to stop the ongoing darkness that threatens to consume. The $ex scenes are erotic and intense; the BDSM scenes are not for the lighthearted.

All of the previous story line couples play secondary and supporting roles. We are re-introduced to Master Damien Stone, the owner of Club Sin as well as one of Club Sin’s submissives Kitty, and an assortment of MMA fighters and wannabes.

FIGHTING ATTRACTION deviates from Sarah’s usual MMA story line as it focuses on the S&M relationship between Jack and Penny. FIGHTING ATTRACTION reads more like an introductory story line to a new series; perhaps the author has plans for a spin off about the members of Club Sin. All of the MMA fighters are alpha, over protective, and not without some questionable means to protect the people they love. The premise is passionate and entertaining; the characters are colorful, dynamic and broken; the romance is intense and unique. FIGHTING ATTRACTION is an intimate look at two people whose relationship deviates from the norm but a relationship that is perfect for one another.

Fighting Attraction is all about conflict, the push and pull of life and love and soul-deep needs. Both main characters are a study in contrasts. Jack Caldwell is the encouraging, good-natured gossip king of the Redemption gym, but he's a true sadist at heart, and a painful past has taught him to keep that part of himself locked away. Penny Worthington is an adorable pastel- and pearl-wearing British gal with a penchant for death metal and bad boys, and her secret is so damaging, only a few people in her entire lifetime have known. The way their dark needs fit together—and yet also clash so painfully—weaves the gritty undertone that sets this story apart from typical fighter romances in the contemporary erotic genre.

Jack is a complicated man, with self-imposed layers of restrictions and hidden spaces, walls to keep people out and secrets in. He's everyone's high-fiving buddy at the gym and the most fierce, feared sadist at club Sin. And with Penny, he lands somewhere in the middle, somewhere soft and angry and giving, all while holding back the most vulnerable parts of himself. Until he stops and just lets go. That's when Jack will really melt your heart.

And as a fighter, oh man. I'm not into MMA in real life, but dayum. I could watch this guy torture opponents in the cage all day.

I love Penny's spirit. She may dress like a demure little secretary out for tea with the Queen, but she's got fire and spine and wit. Her British accent suits her character—and this story—perfectly and shines through her dialogue.

I LOVED the clever way Penny turns the tables at the end. Without giving spoilers, I'll just say that I was grinning and fist-pumping along with the characters. Brilliant. Sexy. Edgy. Addicting. That's Fighting Attraction. And I want more!

I loved this book.

WE meet MMA fighter Jackson Caldwell aka Rampage who is popular in and out of the rinbghe is the kind of guy everyone wants to be friends with. Men want to be him and women want him to keep them warm at night but Jackson is harbouring a dark secret from the public eye he is also a Master at BDSM club and a Sadist who gets complete pleasure in giving out pain. Jackson would never reveal his secret to anybody especially to long term who happens to a very prim and proper sort of girl who goes by the name of Penny Worthington who works as a legal assistant.

We meet Penny who is a absolute beautiful girl on the inside and outside, she is genuine and all round sweetheart but scratch beneath the surface Penny isn't confident as she likes to present herself in the public. She has recently been telling Jackson personal secrets about herself.

One day Penny is sent on a errand to the BDSM club where Jackson becomes Master Jack and gets the shock of her life when she spots Jackson there during a whipping session with a submissive and both parties are involved. When Penny leaves her mind starts racing could she deal with the pain from her past by getting her friend who she trusts to start whipping like she has just seen him doing to the submissive before him.

Its not long before Jackson and Penny embark on a BDSM relationship even though neither of them felt that they were good enough for one another there is a lot of sexual chemistry between the two of them. I will be honest there is a lot of going back and forth between the two of them but trust me it is worth it.

I loved this book, and I loved Rampage/Jack. Was he a Dom yeah! gentle? yeah, no, yeah, no, oh I don't know, he was just ahhhhh!!
Jack and Penny made the perfect couple, Penny needed pain and protecting and Jack was the guy to do it, they ended up saving each other. This was a really hot book but it was tastefully written and not over the top so I enjoyed it very much.
And I'm a Brit so I loved Penny's dialogue too. It was great reading.

Wow. This story was a lot darker than I anticipated. Not necessarily a dark read, just a darker storyline. I found it pretty intriguing. Loved the storyline, characters, and intensity of it all. These Redemption boys are hot, sexy alphas all the way.

This one is about Penny and Jack, also known as Rampage. These two had quite a journey, fighting feelings of who they are and what they need, fighting their feelings for each other even though that want and need is there, fighting demons from their past. There was so much chemistry, friction, emotion, passion and heat. It definitely had a raw and gritty feel for me, because of things Penny was dealing with and Jack’s specific brand of kink. I love that the author went there and she did a great job doing it. It was just full of so much passion and heat and I love that these two somewhat broken soles found each other and in a way heal and find what they need together.

Penny had some serious things she was struggling with and it was awesome watching her grow, gain strength, and overcome. I loved Jack. Rampage has always been this sweet, fun loving guy so getting to see his deep, dark secrets and watch his mask slip and see a whole different side of him was awesome. I loved his battle of accepting who he is and truly being himself. So, so good!

Love all the Redemption guys and the testosterone fueled conversations and fights they have. I also love their woman who have are just as strong and put up with them. They're all a great addition to the story and bring a touch of lightness into the dark.

Really good writing, decent pace. Towards the end the back and forth between Penny and Jack was getting old and that back and forth of them figuring their stuff out was starting to get a bit drawn out but other than that, I thought it was awesome. A hot read for sure, but more emotional and dark too. Awesome addition to the series!

"She's the most beautiful woman I've ever met and never fucked."

I've been waiting for this one, and it lived up to all my expectations. My weakness is the broken bad boys and you can't get much more broken than choosing to spend your life alone. Rampage has taken relationships off the table. He has chosen to embrace his darkness, but not to share it.

Penny is his light. Even if she doesn't know it. She's everything he ever wanted, except for the one thing he can't live without. He watches her. He protects her. He wants her. But he doesn't allow himself to do anything about it.

Penny is broken, but only a few close friends are aware of her past. And none of them know her secret. When she accidentally learns Rampage's secret, she keeps it to herself. But she wants more. She wants to dip her toe in his darkness, knowing somehow it will give her the release she seeks. But can two broken halves make a whole? They might, if he would even consider it, but he won't. He refuses to dim her light. So, they watch each other with hungry eyes, Fighting Attraction.

Sarah Castille did an amazing job of showing the heart of the characters. I have always been a big fan of her alpha males that are so tough on the outside, but turn to mush when they find the women they are meant to be with. She tackles issues that some would shy away from, and nails them every time. And her sense of humor never fails to have me giggling out loud and embarrassing myself as I read. She's always brought a smile to my face with the term submission, involving holds in the ring. But this time she took it to a whole new level that turned my smile to a blush. But I'm not complaining. I'm ready for more. The line forms here...

I have been a big fan of Sarah Castille's Redemption series since book one with Torment and Makayla. The way she balances the gritty and hard edged MMA fighters with the softer yet equally strong heroines is incredible. This book is the story of Jack "Rampage" Caldwell and Penny Worthington.

In Fighting Attraction, Castille did a fantastic job describing Penny's masochistic tendencies and Rampage's cravings as a Sadist. They both are ashamed of their particular wants and desires but find that with one another (through consensual play and rough sex) they can be free and themselves for the first time in their lives without feeling shame.

Castille does a phenomenal job highlighting Rampage's aggressive and dominant "fighter" personality with his sweet and southern gentlemanly ways. In addition it was interesting watching him work through his insecurities while trying to balance his needs to inflict pain for release and his innate Southern way of thinking that "a true gentlemen does not put his hands on a woman." Likewise, Penny's need for pain (through cutting) are as a result of her own diminished self-worth attributed to painful experiences from her past. Can they both find a balance that works for them both? Or are they too different to really be compatible.

I absolutely loved this book and the amount of love and devotion they both had for each other. They were willing to change who they were for the other, but through love and acceptance realized they didn't have to. This book had heat, humor and heart and was a fantastic addition the series. I look forward to the next book in the series and seeing the Redemption crew in the future!

~~I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads ~~

This is the fourth in the series - and a great addition too. As we watch these men fall in love and fight for the one their heart desires, the level of fight put up by themselves and their women makes for great stories - I would recommend that you read them in order to get the full picture, but they are all excellent in their own right.

Here we have an unexpected match of Rampage, newly turned pro-fighter and the prim and proper Penny from England. They both have dark secrets and revealing them will cost more than their friendship - yet events transpire to make it impossible to ignore their feelings any longer. As we are drawn deeper into their relationship, there is a wonderful mix of dark when they are alone, and humour when they are with the Redemption family. By getting the story from both viewpoints, we get to reconnect with the men and women of that family. We catch up on the pairings which have already happened, as well as getting clues as to future romances.

I love the way that this story was resolved - it felt very natural as it fitted the plot beautifully and was very satisfying. Thank you once again Ms Castille.

Can I just say HOT! OMG I could not put this book down. The tension between Rampage (Jack) and Penny is so thick you could cut it with a knife. Not everyone is what they show the world, some have secret lives.
Rampage is well loved and everyone sees him as a bug teddy bear. That is unless he is in the cage fighting. However, he has a side that no one knows about, it is dark and he hates it. He is a dom and only wants the most submissive to play with.
Penny shows the world a bubble gum and pop look. What she really wants is some pain. She is a prim British woman that seems to choose the wrong kind of man every time. Now she wants Jack and just might get him when he finds out her secret.
Can Jack overcome his hate for this dominance and so he can help and love Penny? Can Penny leave behind her dislike for herself?

Title: Fighting Attraction
Author: Sarah Castille

4 unexpected stars

It's the first time that i read a novel by Sarah Castille, and i'm not sure why i waited so long to do so, or even why i haven't heard more from her before now, before i ended up reading furiously through the pages of Fighting Attraction. The type of novel that mixes two opposites of a spectrum and puts them together in a way that i was captivated from the very beginning. The story of a MMA fighter, Rampage, who has a secret that he vows will never be reveal, no matter what the circumstances. This secret is the one thing that he never wants anyone to know, especially the legal assistant who seems too innocent for his tastes, Penny. But as he'll come to realize very soon, appearances can be deceiving when you come to get to know someone in ways you never saw coming.

4.5 sexy dreams

Surprised doesn't come to explain how i felt about this book. It was entirely unexpected and the last thing i would have expected a MMA genre novel to have was so many BDSM aspects. I love these types of novels; to see just how far a human being can go through, to fully submit and dominate another, the trust of it all, and the control. And yet, at the same time, to a certain extent, MMA is about control of the movements of your body while letting go of some of that control to let the other person tire themselves out. The details were incredible and i couldn't get enough of this story. I only wish that i could have read the previous books in the series and gotten a better idea of where Sarah Castille wants to go with her characters since i sometimes feel as though i missed some of the big details that may have been present in the previous books. Some of the connection i wish i had with the characters weren't as strong as i would have wanted it simply because i was preoccupied with the 'what ifs' and 'did i miss something'? things that i know will be easily answered as i start from the very beginning.

There has been something about the Redemption series that up until now has made each and every book compulsory reading, so when this one hit the screen I was absolutely delighted that I was going to be able to spend a little more time totally absorbed in a world that I have come to feel almost part of. Each and every book of this series has been a study of grit and determination and I expected Jack and Penny to be exactly the same…but was it?
Well this is the story of Jack Caldwell, aka Rampage and Penny and it wasn’t at all what I had anticipated.
Both have needs that don’t exactly fall into the “vanilla” camp, Penny has tendencies that she seems to find issue with accepting, why I wasn’t exactly sure, yes her desires weren’t exactly what many people would consider “normal” but they were what she needed and right up until she met Jack, her desires had been primarily unfulfilled…but with Jack, oh boy she has a man that is the ying to her yang and matching her masochism with his sadistic desires is a marriage made in heaven.
Jack found his urge to inflict pain during intimacy something that almost ran at odds with the fact that he had be brought up with good old southern values, values that clearly state that a real man should never lay a finger on a woman, and while those are values that he holds dear …that is outside the bedroom because in the throws’ of desire those values couldn’t be further from the truth, his need to inflict pain is exactly what makes him tick.
I thought the author hit the nail on the head portraying the internal struggle that Jack’s professional and personal persona brought to his character as a whole, he tried, I honestly believe that, to almost reign in the sadistic desires that were lurking inside of him and because of that that I was hoping that with Penny he would at last find a peace that his heart seemed to be searching for.
Self harm has been Penny’s coping mechanism for too long, her way of dealing with a past that is so painful that it has left her with self-esteem issues. But could a man like Jack be the key to unlocking a part of her heart and her life that she never thought she would have the opportunity to share?
They both really struggled with the fact that they needed a different level of physicality, their desires were only ever fully satisfied by being able to absorb themselves in a world where they intimacy included a consensual level of pain and I have to say that I found that to be a beautiful thing, not the pain no, but the fact as individuals they were able to offer each other what was almost a vital missing piece to who they really were. With each other they didn’t need to pretend and that in my opinion was priceless for each of them.
I loved this book, I have loved them all but this one spoke to me on a different level. It took two characters that on the surface were different but that once you looked under the top layer, they were so similar.
The level of understanding and acceptance that they were able to give to each other allowed them to almost grow into their own skin, they could finally fill every last piece of who they were and by doing that they were able to grow not only as a coupe but individually, they book gave prominence to the fact that we are all different and that there is someone out there for us all and that one we have the right person in our lives, anything is possible.
Acceptance and understanding for them both was all it took for them to finally be themselves and to be happy. I loved the touches of humour that the author interspersed throughout the story and above it all I loved the fact that these were two people that I could understand, they had heart and that was wonderful to read.
