Frankie Dupont seems to catch odd-ball cases in the most unlikely places. You would think he would be used to it by now.

When his next case lands him on a luxury cruise liner full of devious chocolatiers with ulterior motives, Frankie will be expected to solve the crime, even before it's committed.

Although his mind is certainly up for the challenge, Frankie realises his s

The Skinny

The Duponts are celebrating Fankie and his father's birthdays at Enderby Manor when they open a mysterious package sent by Madame Marie Fontaine with four VIP cruise passenger tickets and four airline tickets for the entire family to come to her aid. The original plan changes change, and Mr. Dupont sets off to Antarctica with Frankie, Kat, Amy and Sherlock. When they arrive, no one is more surprised than Frankie to see Inspector Cluesome sitting on Madame Marie's couch, let alone the t

This is the fourth book in the Frankie Dupont series. I have enjoyed them all and this one was no exception! Frankie's dad is invited to share his expertise with Madame Marie Fontaine, the owner of a ship setting sail for Antarctica. Frankie, his cousin Kat and their friend Amy go with him. Once they get there, they are surprised to learn that Madame Fontaine needs his help with a potential crime, not one that's actually happened. Frankie, Kat and Amy meet Maddie, Madame Fontaine's granddaughter ...more

Another great mystery and adventure Frankie finds himself in. This case leads him on a luxury cruise liner to solve a crime that hasn't been committed yet. Frankie follows the clues to solve another great mystery. Fun characters. I find myself laughing with these characters and connecting with them like friends. I think kids from 9 - 12 would really love this story. I received this book free for a honest review. ...more

I did it! I did it! I solved the case. Well not the whole case, just who was the chocolatier on the ship. This is the fourth book in the Frankie Dupont series and having read all four this was the first time I knew the answer before it was revealed in the book.

Often with book series after the first few, the books become mundane. As readers we know the characters, we know the author’s style we can predict endings due to previous books. This is why I enjoy the Frankie Dupont series. The setting, t

‘Let me be clear, Mr Dupont. Chocolate wars have started from such a recipe, and there are people out there who’ll stop at nothing for even a glimpse . . . let alone a taste.'

With these words begins a mouthwatering mystery! Although a bit slow to start, Grasso’s latest work has all the twists, turns, and laughs you’ve come to expect from her novels. There are surprise parties, chocolate sculptures, and a group of friends that must solve a crime—one that hasn’t even happened yet!

This is probably my favorite Frankie DuPont mystery so far!. Mr. DuPont gets a case where the crime hasn't been committed yet but it's anticipated to happen on an upcoming cruise. He takes his 11 year old son, Frankie DuPont and his friends too on the cruise. Once there, Frankie lands a mystery on his own and takes the necessary steps to solve it. He is very methodical & planned. If one door closes, he has another door to open. He has so many ideas. His trusty dog, Sherlock, plays a very importa ...more

Frankie Dupont and the High Seas Heist is the fourth book in the Frankie Dupont series. This one has Frankie, his dad, Amy, and Kat on a cruise ship headed to Antarctica to help solve the mystery of who wants to steal a secret chocolate recipe.

This is such a cute series! I really liked this one since they got to be on a cruise ship. They weren’t stuck in little rooms either. These kids got the luxury treatment! Poor Frankie doesn’t fin

Such a fun read for young readers. The age range of 8-12 is perfect for this book, boy or girl. Frankie Dupont is just like a young modern day Sherlock Holmes trying to solve a mystery along with his dad, a few friends and his trusty sidekick dog. This was a fun mystery as it involved two mysteries that end up being surprisingly related. The book is a simple but a fun engaging read. I was trying to figure out the clues and who-dun-it as i read along. I love how Frankie's mind works and his fun g ...more

Frankie’s fourth adventure, Frankie Dupont and the High Seas Heist, should surprise readers following his exploits because it takes place not on home turf, but on board ship. Frankie is sharing his eleventh birthday with his dad’s fiftieth at Enderby Manor (where else?) when a surprise invitation arrives. A mysterious invitation, accompanied by extraordinarily delicious chocolates, arrives from a Madame Marie Fontaine for Frankie’s dad to investigate a case on board the cruise ship La Fontaine C ...more

In this mystery episode, Frankie heads off on an Antarctic cruise to help catch a chocolate thief. (FYI, this is the fourth Frankie Dupont story, but the first that I've read. I received a copy in exchange for an honest review.)

After a few somewhat clunky opening chapters, the mystery takes off wonderfully when the kids board the cruise ship. Roadblocks stymie the young detectives, cool gadgets (if a little unrealistic) abound, and some ingenuity is needed to solve the case. Plus a cute four-foo

Once again Frankie Dupont is on the case. His dad has been put on a security case on a cruse ship. Frankie and his assistants are there to provide a cover story. There is an expensive chocolate sculpture and its recipe at risk and Mr. Dupont is set to guard against international thieves who have already stolen some of the world’s best chocolate recipes. In addition Frankie finds himself on the hunt for a missing person. He has to solve the mystery before the sculpture goes missing.

Frankie appears to be growing up. The youngest sleuth in the area seems happy to go along with his two female friends on a cruise. But it’s not any cruise – he’s been included along with his dad, also a PI, who’s been hired by the owner of the cruise company to protect her latest creation against sabotage or theft by one of the rivals. Of course, as this is the big launch, she’s invited all said rivals to rub their noses in it.

Frankie’s sleuthing is beset with technical difficulties, one of whic

Frankie Dupont mysteries are such fun adventures for young readers.
Grasso does a detailed writing job of creating a very mysterious atmosphere in the book’s setting; this adventure is set on a cruise headed to Antarctica. Frankie’s father is hired to investigate competitive chocolatier’s who may want to take Madame Fontaine’s famous recipe. Maddie, Madame Fontaine’s grand-daughter, who has her own mystery to solve. Underlying each mystery is the description of chocolate because Madame Fontaine

I have always enjoyed the Frankie Dupont series because of the strange, yet plausible cases and the interesting clues. The likable characters were fully fleshed and their stories well-written, with unexpected twists. Kids will not be disappointed in this new Frankie Dupont adventure. A ship full of exquisite chocolate; headed to a harsh, uninhabitable continent; and a frozen deck for ice skating will speak to readers’ . . .

I received a copy of this book from Mother Daughter Book Reviews for an honest review. Thank you!
This was a enjoyable kids double mystery. The setting made the book really fun - a cruise boat in Antarctica with a fancy chocolate theme. The pace of the book moved really quickly once they were all on board the boat. The ending was quite satisfying. I found a few spots that needed more editing, but overall it was a well done middle-grade read.

Great for tweens and class discussions

Fun cruise theme with a double mystery and heartwarming ending. DNA not D and A and many other such word play phrases will engage readers. Perfect for tweens as it is a clever story and the storyline and discussions are all age appropriate. This book was written with figurative language students could find and discuss in class. This book would be nice in gifted ed programs as there are clues, twists, and turns to notice and figure out.
