Gabriel is wealthy, powerful and respected. He’s even been chosen as the next high alpha, but all he wants is to find his soul mate before time runs out. He doesn’t want to force his wolf to merge before the beast is ready. He doesn’t want to force his wolf’s mate to merge with the wrong woman. And he definitely doesn’t want to claim the wrong woman as his alpha mate, but he doesn’t have a choice. If he fails to merge and mate before his next birthday, he’ll be branded as an omega, castrated and cast out of shifter society.
Lilith is an omega, despised by all for failing to merge. She’s more dead than alive…weak, feverish, and slowly starving to death. All she wants is a chance to survive. She’s given that chance when another wolf—the right wolf—calls her out of Sanctuary mountain.
Attempting another merge, even if it’s a mutual merge, is an act of treason, but Lilith does it anyway. She has no way of knowing the animal she merges with is mated to Gabriel’s wolf, until the stubborn bitch runs straight to him and shifts, dumping Lilith—naked, dirty and bleeding—at his feet.
Best Selling Author introduces a 'new adult' paranormal romance. River's Recruit: Book 1 of The Sanctuary Series River's Remorse: Book 2 of The Sanctuary Series River's Revenge: Book 3 of The Sanctuary Series Gabriel's Gift: Book 4 of The Sanctuary Series
I've enjoyed all the books in Able's Sanctuary Series, and this was no exception. However it had been a while since I read the previous book, and this one was a different POV from the other books, so it took a minute to reimmerse myself into the world again. But once I did I was a goner. Note - I would strongly encourage anyone considering this book to read the previous books in order first. It is not one that could be easily understood without that background knowledge.
This story - as the title says - is about Gabriel and his mate. Jonathan and River set the new standard for bonding with one's wolf and finding mates. And Gabriel is determined to follow in their footsteps. But his time is running out, and he makes a backup plan. Of course things don't always go the way they seem, or the way you think they should, or the way they plan for.
But you have to make things work to survive, especially in the world Abel creates for her shifters. They are like no other shifters I have ever read about anywhere, ever. The way she created them is unique to her world. And I kinda don't want to tell you so you have to go read it for yourself. She also brings politics into it - but again not like other shifter books. You just have to read to see.
I wasn't sure I was going to like Gabriel's book. I had fallen so in love with River and Jonathan, and Gabe was basically a kid at the beginning of their story, that I thought it would be weird to read about. I am glad I gave it a shot though, because I fell madly in love with Gabe and his mate (notice I don't use her name, I don't want to ruin anything for anyone!) and their struggles to not only be happy, but just to BE.
If you are looking for a unique shifter NA romance, pick up book one in this series, River's Recruit.
I think out of all the books in this series so far, this is my most favorite. A man looking for his one true mate and a woman branded an outcast, but when they come together after years of being apart things become heated. Gabriel's life is good except one thing is missing, a mate. Lilith's life is hell after being wrongfully branded, never expecting to find her wolf or a mate. When the merge happens and she runs straight to her mate, she is furious and wants nothing to do with him at first. They begin to learn each other all over again, except for one secret that Lilith is so scared to reveal. Things become complicated and threat are made, but love always wins it all. Charlotte Abel blew me away with this story and pulled me into her world so deep, I don't want to ever come out.
Gabriel finally finds his mate. But Lillith has a secret she is hiding. Can their relationship survive and grow?
This story has the potential to lead to other books as there are a number of plots started that aren't finished yet. I hope those stories aren't long on coming. I really liked this story though and hope there will be more in the future.
Another amazing book in the Sanctuary Series. I don't know what I'm going to read once this series ends! It's been a long time since I have been so drawn into a the lives of the people in a book. I need to know what happens next!!
This the fourth in the Sanctuary series and was just as good as the other three. The love between Gabe and Lillith was sweet and hot. Loved the background story too. Hope there are more in the series.
I spent a lot of time debating on my rating and review for this book before actually committing to it. And the reason is this: this was the first book in the series that I have read even though it's the 4th book, and this book CAN NOT be read without reading the first books in the series unless you want to be totally confused. And with saying that, let me also say that my review was not based on my initial confusion. My review is based on how this one individual book was written and that was what took me so long to decide my rating. I didn't want my not understanding parts of the book to cloud how I felt overall about this particular story. I didn't deduct points for my confusion, because that is not the author's fault. I offered to read this book not knowing it was truly not a stand alone until after I'd already received the book. So with that, this book was interesting in its concept. Characters are not born shifters. They only become a shifter if they can merge with an actual wolf. Merges can also be forced, but at a cost. Forced merges can also fail, leading to the person being exiled and outcast into a society known as an omega camp. The person is then branded and is treated like the lowest of low. Which is what happens to the heroine Lilith. Gabe and Lilith meet before she is exiled, but when she is exiled she thinks it's because Gabe and his family betrayed her. This is where some confusion comes in if you're not familiar with the story. Anyway, Lilith escapes the camp and she becomes reunited with Gabe. Their relationship takes most of the book to fully come to fruition and of course there is that conflict as well as outside conflict. I think if you read the previous 3 books in the series you'd find this one enjoyable. I'd recommend this one, but only if you read the rest of the series first.
I really loved the first three books in this series, and this fourth installment did not disappoint. I love the story world and the different take on shifters that this author created. We still have all that goodness in this novel about Gabriel's quest for his soul mate. The love story here reaches its conclusion in this novel, unlike the trilogy it took to tell River and Jonathan's story. I like that, since it about killed me to wait for the other books to come out in the past. However, some things weren't developed fully or maybe the threads that got dropped here will pick up in the next book, I don't know, but I expected there to be more hurdles, or for the hurdles to be more of a struggle to overcome, like in the previous books. For instance, I expected more trouble from Absolom about Rose...I thought Solomon was going to get his just deserts from Lillith or she was going to get in serious trouble trying...etc. All in all, though, this was a wonderful love story in a story world that I absolutely love! I highly recommend this series. Can't wait to hear more!

Wow! This series is like no other in its genre. Where the last book is heavy in politics, this one is all about family, emotion, and passion. If there is another one though, we will pay...
Where we left off in book 3, Gabe was a gangly kid, and now he's... whoa! Paul's no longer pudgy faced and adorable, and River is mama bear and Queen Bee; who'd a thunk it?!
I thoroughly enjoy this cast of characters. Their growth and development, emotionally and physically, is happening at an exponential rate that is fitting with the plots and stories. We the reader are so vested at this point that we just don't want to be left behind; I want to make sure that I get every detail.
I didn't imagine that this is the direction that we would've taken, but I like it. Hopefully in the next I get to see Paul's journey, and fill in the blanks from previous books.
Gabriel's Gift starts 5 years after River's Revenge and features characters from past books but in this one we get to see Gabriel find his mate. I loved Gabriel in the first three books and am glad to get to see his HEA. I also enjoyed reading about some of the changes that were enacted in New Eden and learning a little bit more about the Omegas. This book has it all - romance and love, suspense and betrayal. Charlotte Abel know how to weave a story together that keeps you reading until the last page. Once I started Gabriel's Gift I couldn't put it down. While featuring character from past books, introducing new ones and mentioning some of the plot points from the previous books this one can be read as a stand-alone but to truly appreciate it you need to read the first three.
I was worried when right away the book says "5 years later" but it didn't disappoint. Gabe has had a long road trying to find his soul mate. I think he worked hard for her and was well rewarded. Lillith had me worried but fought for them just as hard. I am secretly hoping that Paul has not met his soul mate and that he finds a sweet young girl later on. I missed not reading more of Johnathon and River over the 5 years we moved forward. But they were still a big part of this story. It was great and the characters are always my favourite part. Are Rose and Noah next?
I was a little apprehensive when I started this novel as I was a little bit disappointed with the way things wrapped up in River's Revenge.
I'm happy to say that I think Gabriel and Lilith's story might be my favouite in the series. They were comical and entertaining as a couple and I empathized with Lilith's situation.
My only complaint with this novel is I would have liked to see the laws in Sanctuary regarding Omegas be addressed. It was a perfectly beautiful ending but I still feel there's a sword hanging over their heads a a bit. However that being said the fact that not all problems are tied up perfectly with a bow lends realism to the story.
This book moves on from River's story to Gabriel. Although it's set in the same world, it feels much more like a standard romance plot line, in that the story is resolved within this novel (whereas the previous story had many different elements and spread over 3 books).
I still enjoy the Robinson Crusoe type world, and felt this was a good story. I felt there wasn't as much time to focus on Gabriel + Liliths characters as had been done for River and Jonathan.
As with the 3 previous Sanctuary series books I loved this one. However, I did feel like something more dire should have happened. I know this was a continuance book, but I think another bigger plot could have this series go on for another 3 or 4 books. Same fantastic writing was displayed in this was as was before. Gabriel's Gift captured me, and held me hostage until I finished it through. I can't wait to read Paul's story one day, and Rose's story. One of my favorite scenes is at the end of the book, but I can't tell you why. ;)
This is the 4th book in the Sanctuary Series by Charlotte Abel. I recommend the entire series it has a different twist to wolf shifters.
Gabriel is and Alpha and is waiting to merge with his wolf until the wolf's mate has found her human to merge with so that they can join their life sparks and be soul mates. It was all he had ever wanted but his time is running out if he hasn't merged by his birthday he will loose his alpha status and be castrated and branded an Omega. This his story and it is an exciting one I would give the series more stars if I could.
I read this entire book in one sitting even though I didn't get to bed until 1:00 am. I have enjoyed all Charlotte's books and this one is no exception. I loved seeing Gabe and Calla (Lilly) get together finally and Paul had me giggling with his crush on Sarah. I was glad to see River and Jonathan back too. I'm looking forward to the next book in the series and hope to see Lazarus get what he deserves.
Gabriel's Gift is the fourth book in Charlotte Abel's Sanctuary Series. Unlike the previous books in this series, this story focuses on Gabriel foster brother of River. I enjoyed the book but for me it just didn't have the heart stopping pull of previous books in this series. It just didn't hook me in as well. I'm not sure if the author has plans to continue the series, there are still some unresolved issues that would allow for that.
I'm a little disappointed with this last book because so many things were not resolved. Does Rueben find his mate? Will River and Jonathan have kids? what happens with Lazarus? What happens with Paul & Sara? Eli & Aspen? So many questions left unanswered. Otherwise, I love what is disclosed and the different characters.
The man she has agree to belong to help opp s her lover and finds there is.more th'll o Jonathan. With his help they find a way river and Jonathan to be together as this man fallen for another. Great ending to the series. Loved every book
I love this story! Now getting to know Gabe and Lillith's story.....I can't wait to read what happens next !! You've got me hook, line and sinker.... Thank you for this installment....I'm eagerly awaiting the next!!
Not sure I like this society because the wolves are forced to merge and the people are as#$$%&%$#s. This is the first book in the series I have read and I will not be reading the others.
