Almost Like Being in Love is the first full-length novel I've read by Beth K. Vogt. I've heard so many wonderful things about her stories and this book definitely lived up to my expectations. I found the characters charming and the romance was sweet.

I didn't care so much for the way that certain things happened (won't mention since it would be a spoiler), but besides that I loved the story. It was just what I needed to read, as I was looking for a nice, fun contemporary read and Almost Like Bei

Caron is a Realtor working for her father when he makes a business decision that upsets her. This prompts her to make a huge change that sets the story in motion. I was so surprised with Caron's father and felt her disappointment. However, I was also very proud of Caron and how she handles herself.

Kade is an ex Army Ranger turned Realtor landing a huge project that will expand his business when all of a sudden an employee he needs leave for a family emergency. Kade and Caron used to be a couple

In this second book of the Destination Wedding Series, there is plenty of dysfunctional family background for main character Caron and the two suitors. Caron has always wanted to please her father and has made most of her decisions based upon what he would have wanted her to do. I would have liked to see Caron with more confidence in what she wants and less "go with the flow", but her actions were in line with her character.

One of the things I particularly liked about this novel is the two poten
So complex and so enjoyable! It's a lush, feel-good novel...except—wait a minute—there's some pretty heavy stuff going on here. I enjoyed this so much, especially the unorthodox POV of the girl, the boyfriend, and the ex. Brilliant! It worked so well, and made each character so real and sympathetic.

Highly recommended. People learning to grow up, to ask the hard questions about life and love and, most importantly, who God would have them to be.

Almost Like Being in Love is truly a delightful and captivating read. A novel that is all but impossible to put down with characters that invite you in to discover their story. This one should not be missed this summer for fans of Christian romance.

The subtleties and intricacies that are woven through the characterization and storytelling jump this book into life with true-to-life characters that feel as real as your next door neighbor.

Dialogue is witty and pinched with sass, story world is vi
Caron Hollister is a people pleaser especially trying to get approval from her father. Kade Webster has lost everyone in his life that he loved and expected people to walk away from him. Even though they love each other, Caron walks away still trying to please her father.

Vogt's characters are so vivid and realistic: Alex dealing with a disfunctional family. Caron forever trying to win her father's approval. Kade always feeling lost and alone. The secondary characters were also well drawn and ad

Has life gone the way you planned?

Almost Like Being in Love by Beth K. Vogt brought laughter to my lips and tears to my eyes. It was a beautiful look at how wrong “perfect” can be… and often is. Though this novel didn’t beat out Wish You Were Here as my favorite Vogt book (must be those llamas!), it did rise to the top in her Destination Wedding series. This book captured a sweet complexity that intrigued me at every turn. If you like a good, clean romance with lots of humor a

- This book got my heart bouncing, dancing, Mood swiveled, it was the right book at the right time before my gynecology exam, beautiful good and sweet romance.
- It would be really great to imagine kade and Caron in a movie, would be amusing if all the colors and the house decorations caron did visualize on the screen.
- How caron decided to deal with her life with kade on her own was basically the most courageous thing I loved about this novel, a second look on "perfect choices

Almost Like Being in Love is a fun romance, with many strong themes of second chances, learning to stand up for one's self and coping with everything from an alcoholic parent to job security. It mixed humour with serious issues, along with plenty of romance and sweet (and swoony) kisses.

Have you ever put yourself in the hands of another, tried so hard to please them, arrange your life to suit them? Well, Caron has. Her whole life has been dedicated to pleasing her father with her choice in care

A copy was given to me free in exchange for my honest opinion.
The first two sentences tell you what the challenge is going to be right from the beginning. But, it goes deeper than just Caron working for her father. What I found to be hilarious, yes I did laugh at this, was the fact that everyone seems to think working for her dad was a bad idea to begin with. When Caron quits, pretty much everyone is like "it's about time". She is shocked by this reaction and splutters trying to defend her choi

Book two in Beth Vogt's 'Destination Wedding' series is a mighty fine addition to this series. She has once again created characters that are so real and vivid, tugging at the reader's heart strings, making us cry and laugh with them. And also hurt with them.

The action moves between Florida and Colorado in this novel and I loved every moment of it. These folks get deep down in our hearts as Beth Vogt weaves her magic with words and tackles real life problems with amazing depth and charm. I loved

From the outside, Caron Hollister's life looks perfect--successful career, a steady boyfriend--but one impulsive decision reveals her heart is not happy, and sets the wheels in motion for change. Working for her father was not what she imagined it would be, and no amount of effort on her part seems to ever be good enough for him.

So much more than a romance, this is a heartfelt story that has a deep running message: God's love is unconditional, and He loves us despite our flaws. Working to gain

More romances like this, please!! It was so good and so realistic! Everything about it was. The characters and situations. Nothing made me roll my eyes and for me, reading a romance, that's a big compliment lol. I like how there's a HEA but everything didn't tie up neatly in a bow because life isn't that way. Loved this book so much! Write on, Mrs Vogt!!

4.5 stars! What a beautiful story! Instantly there's a connection with Caron, who despite being very successful in her career as a Realtor, she is being pushed aside, & I felt unkindly treated by her Father, in his company Hollister Realty, to make way for a new partner. No-one, including her long standing boyfriend seemed to show any kind of understanding or compassion for her feelings. No validation. She quits, and I have to say, that shows bravery, not cowardess. I didn't feel there was m ...more

This is a delightful romance on so many levels. The locations are fun (I want to visit Colorado). The characters are well developed (the problems of trying to please your father). The romance is wonderful (God does give second chances).

Caron had played basketball in high school, seeking her father's approval. She became a real estate agent and worked in her father's Florida firm, again seeking his approval. She had turned her back on the man she loved because she knew that's what her father want

Vogt's skill with a pen is AH-MAZ-ING! Heart and soul, I was transported along on the journeys of Caron, Alex, and Kade. This isn't your average feel-good romance although it certainly contains romance. :-) The characters bear real life struggles and they're worked out on the page with refined delicacy. It's an emotional read encompassing disappointment, fear, joy, and love-- just to name a few. The settings leap off the page, they're so descriptive! And the secondary characters…let’s just say t ...more

Having dated steadily for two years, Caron Hollister and Alex Madison have causally talked about marriage, so that makes them "almost" engaged, doesn't it? Caron certainly hopes so, especially after quitting her job as a realtor in her father's company, flying to Colorado to visit her "definitely" engaged friend, dodging her "happens-to-live-here" previous boyfriend, and winning an all expense paid destination wedding at a bridal fair. Caron's orderly life has just become very complicated.

Wow -- I'm an emotional pretzel after reading this book! My tummy's in knots and my heart feels like it's been stretched inside out. But, hey, I'm an emotional reader so it's all good and I enjoy basking in the glow of a story well told...and this one certainly is!

First thing you need to know is...I hate love triangles. Second -- I didn't hate this love triangle! It's one of the reasons I feel like somebody's punching bag though. Because I fell for both Alex and Kade and I didn't want one of th

ALMOST LIKE BEING IN LOVE is a sweet romance. There are more than two points of view in this book, letting you know both Kade and Alex. Both are really sweet men, both were human with issues, and I rooted for both of them.

Caron got on my nerves sometimes. She acts immaturely at times, expecting entitlement for being her father's daughter and walking away from everything when she doesn't get her way. She does that frequently in the book, even after breaking the destination wedding news to Alex,

I definitely liked this story more than Crazy Little Thing Called Love, the first book in this series. This was one was more of an emotional roller coaster. There were quite a few obstacles for the MCs to get past, and reading how each one navigated their journey was interesting.

I like that this book took place in Florida and Colorado. I liked the setting of Destin better than Colorado, though. Also, I like that this story was about Caron, who is Logan's sister. Logan being one of the MCs of th

Although the love story in this book is both strong and tender, the complex relationship between several “main” characters is really the best part. So many times even Christians try to work things out on their own when all along God wants to be allowed to do all of the hard work. The people in this book are so real! I loved reading it!

Beth Vogt has written another wonderful book. She brings a storyline that will tug on your heart and characters that are easy to relate to. The first two lines hooked me and I knew I would love the story.

"A new day- another opportunity to prove herself to her boss. Of course, Caron had complicated the whole "prove herself" challenge by working for her father."

Caron Hollister is a character that appears to have it all. She come from an affluent family who owns a successful real estate firm wher

I really did enjoy this book but oddly found myself liking one half of each of the two relationships better! It was so odd!

I really liked Kade and have to admit I was disappointed I didn't get to know him better in these pages. I really liked his no nonsense straightforward attitude. I also liked his ability to persuade people and his commitment to his friends.

I also really adored Jessica. For a secondary character she actually might have been my favorite character. I really loved how devoted

Beth Vogt's books take relationship to a whole new level. She doesn't give you the traditional cliche romance, but instead she takes people with broken lives and gives you their romance. Caron, Alex, Cade and others in this book do not have perfect lives. Things do not always go according to plan.

I especially loved how the "Wounded Warriors" are mentioned as well as other little mentions of real organizations that help others.

But most of all, I loved how they addressed the issues with the fath

Beth Vogt's second book in the Destination Wedding series, Almost Like Being in Love, had me from the beginning pages when Caron’s father made a complete stranger (to Caron) a partner in his real estate business. It was what Caron wanted more than anything else in the world. How she reacted is so me. She quit her job which was working as one of his real estate agents.

It’s a wonderful story of a woman finding out who she is and what she wants out of life. Along the way, she falls in love. I laug
