This was kinda so-so for me. I think I would have loved this even more if the H had not pushed the h away so many freaking times and opened up to her a lot sooner. It's the h who is chasing H from beginning. She was also "in love" with her brother's best friend for years and waited pathetically for him and lived like a nun while he was in a serious relationship as well. You would think her H would do the chasing instead of her pinning again for an emotionally unavailable guy, but no.

The H was a

I really enjoyed this. I’ve never read Ms. Reid’s work before, but I was entertained by this well done contemporary romantic suspense and I’m definitely interested in reading more in this series.

This was a fantastic read and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Burn for You is the story of Victoria and Jason. She is an ex-veteran paramedic working with the fire department, and he is a cop and newly appointed arson investigator. They cross paths through their work and an instant attraction sparks leading to a full-blown love affair. Except Jason doesn't do relationships and he's a pro at keeping women (and people in general) at arms length. So the path of true love is definitely not going

Burn For You is the third book in The Protector Series, an adult contemporary romance series centered around Chicago Firefighters and Police. I didn't not read either of the first two books in the series, and in fact this is the first I have ever heard of author Stephanie Reid, and I am like a kid in a candy store having discovered her now. I want MORE! I cannot wait to read the first two books in the series, but you don't need to

“You want to know how I feel about you?” he whispered in her ear. “I burn for you. Every second I’m not with you, I’m thinking about how I can arrange to see you again. And when I’m finally with you? I’m thinking about how I can get closer to you.”

Oh, Jason...I'm thinking about how I can get closer to YOU right now, and I don't give a damn if you're fictional. You had me at Toria.

This book has everything I love in a story - laugh out loud moments, hotness and emotional depth. Yeah, I got a lit
I'm at 9% and the description of the H is: "not very tall" and "The hairline of Jason's light brown hair was already beginning to recede."

Is this her first time to write a romance novel? I'm liking the book so far, just hate it when they describe the main character in a not so flattering way. I'll just pretend he's tall and has a full head of hair. Hopefully he doesn't have a tiny pecker...

Well I finished the book. Pretty underwhelmed with the story. I just didn't feel any drama or

I really, really, really enjoyed this one. The mix of first responders falling in love, the mystery of who's starting fires and finally the emotional baggage of the characters made for immensely enjoyable read. Full review to come.

Really enjoyed this instalment. Jason is an arson investigator with the police force and meets Victoria a para-medic with the fire department. When they meet, they have an instant attraction and I will leave it at that.

If it is not there already, Stephanie Reid’s Protector series should be near the top of your TBR. Each of the three books are available as a standalone and you will not be able to help but getting lost in each story. By the way — these are Stephanie’s first books!!!

When I started to read Burn for You, I actually put it down so that I could read the first two books — Talk to Me and Trust in Me. You don’t have to read them, but I think you owe it to yourself. They are really well writt

Stephanie Reid is a new author for me. I get a little nervous when I step out and trust an author I've never read before. It really paid off for me this time.

Victoria Russo is a paramedic, one of the first responders on the scenes of what becomes a serial arsonist's dangerous game of cat and mouse. New Arson Investigator, Jason Meadows is working hard to prove himself to his boss. As he is questioning the team at Victoria's firehouse, he becomes increasingly attracted to Vic's intell

Sometimes what you want the most isn’t what you need. After years of pining for her brother’s best friend, Victoria is starting to realize perhaps they are not meant to be. But when a new guy enters her life, she’s reluctant to open her heart and put herself out there. Problem is, her heart failed to get the message.

Jason doesn’t trust easily and he sure as hell doesn’t fall in love. Ever. Having been dealt a horrible hand very early in life has hardened him. Where one might see beau

This is my first book by this author and I loved it! While Burn For You is a standalone there are two books that came before this one that I know I will be reading. I am going to be honest and say that I typically have a hard time reading books where the guy is named Jason. My brother in-law is named Jason and well it’s hard to picture steamy scenes when he is the image that ends up in my mind. However this really didn’t happen here at all. Vic and Jason are both well written characters. So are ...more

Now, I am pretty picky about starting a series in the middle and not reading the prior novels before. I don’t want to know who ends up with who and miss all the magic. I have to say, Reid does an amazing job at allowing this to be a part of a series overall, yet it can totally be read as a standalone.

Although Burn for You was a slow read for me in the beginning, once the characters and storyline was laid out I was submerged into this love story/mystery. Victoria’s character was funny, quirky, e

I was looking forward to reading about Jason since his first flirty comments to Sandra, in front of Mick, in Stephanie Reid’s second novel, Trust in Me. He gave off this rebel feeling, a rule-breaker that intrigued me from the start. Though he wants to make detective, Jason’s career takes a different turn when he’s reassigned to become the new Arson Investigator.

The first fire he investigates, he has to interview the paramedics who responded. Enter Victoria Russo, former army medic t

5 stars! I have been reading a lot of so-so books lately, so I wanted to read a book that I knew I would really like. I enjoyed the first two books in this series even though I read them quite a while ago, so I decided to pick this up when I saw it in KU. I am SO glad I did!

First off, I am a sucker for a story with first responders. Just about every characters in this book was a cop, firefighter, or paramedic. The mystery was great, and I was totally surprised by the villain! And the

Victoria Russo works as a paramedic and is use to being treated like one of the guys. But being one of the guys has made it hard to catch the eye of Graham McAndrew, her longtime crush.

Both Jason and Victoria meet each other while working the rash of arson cases that seem to be occurring in their community. They immediately strike up a friendship. Will Jason help Victoria l

I truly enjoyed this story. Jason is a police officer who’s courier takes on an unexpected turn when he is offered a job with the arson investigation team. This is how he meets Victoria, a paramedic with the local fire department. Through circumstances beyond either of their control they end up at Victoria’s brother wedding where their platonic relations ship turns into more. It was all just supposed to be a friends with benefits relationship but soon feelings developed creating all kinds of pro ...more

This is the first book I have read from this author. WOW!!! This book was a refreshing surprise.

Lot’s of twists and turns and surprises are in store for you. You will love Jase, cop turned arson investigator. And Victoria, only female on the fire department. Will their friendship turn into more? Will Jase be able to catch the arsonist? Will he figure out the

The BEST of the series in my opinion. Reid was on top of her game with the woven plotlines, the developing of Jason and Victoria's trust and relationship, and the all the feels this reader loves. And Chapter 24..Oh my goodness...powerful!!! The only thing that really was weird was in the beginning there were alternative choices used for cussing and then words used freely toward the end. At first I thought the alternative choices were to keep a clean book until characters started cussing. I would ...more

This is such an enjoyable series! This story has a little bit of everything.....suspense, romance, humor, and chemistry. The characters are well thought out and well written. I enjoy reading about strong female characters and Vic is great. She at times is one of the guys and yet at other times is all woman. There is so much going on throughout the story but it doesn't come across as busy. Everything works well in this book and is a great addition to the series. Ms. Reid gives her readers a compl ...more
