Praying Through Our Lifetraps: A Psycho-Spiritual Path to Freedom

Rate this book
Can we draw on our faith to help us overcome our fears and insecurities and to heal our wounded selves? In his book, Father John has adapted the methods he uses successfully in individual therapy and in workshops and retreats. Using simple questionnaires, we are able to identify attitudes and behaviors that create stumbling blocks to leading happier, holier lives. And with clear and compelling examples, the author provides psychological and spiritual strategies to help people to enjoy the freedom that comes with loving yourself, others, and God.

The section on the lifetrap of unrelenting standards was especially poignant. I gleaned some solid insights into how to grow in peace as I develop emotionally and spiritually as a Jesuit in formation.

Clear and concise layout of different psychological "lifetraps". Unlike many psychology books, this one is neither lengthy, confusing, or lacking in substance.
