This is a sweet, enjoyable romance. And, with a pregnant nanny, a sheriff protecting his niece from some dangerous relatives, and plenty of drama, it isn't short on plot, either.

This book had two stories in it.
Safe In The Lawman's Arms by Patricia Johns. Sheriff Mike Cruise has custody of his Niece's three year old daughter while the mother is in prison. Later Mike finds out the father is a big drug dealer, who is after the child. Mike has to protect the baby, Katy. He hires a nanny to watch Katy while he is at work. Malory Smythe is the nanny. Malory is pregnant but doesn't tell Mike. He finds out a few days later. There is romance between Mike and Malory. They have to

I didn’t mind either of the characters or the situation, I thought the story was fairly engaging, if somewhat tame and I was quite happy to read this one to its completion. The writing was solidly good and while there was nothing overly surprising or fresh about this one, it was perfectly fine to read.
Harlequin Books
"This is a heartwarming story featuring a hero and heroine to root for and an adorable headstrong toddler. While the romance is slow-building, it is well worth the wait. Johns' new series is off to a great start" (RT Book Reviews, 4 stars).
