The most comprehensive book on greenhouse gardening available today. Today, greenhouses and sunrooms are real living spaces where gardeners spend as much time with a book and a cup of coffee as they do with a watering can and a pair of pruning shears. In this fully revised edition of a best-selling classic, veteran gardener Shane Smith embraces this new "lifestyle" approach to greenhouse gardening. Through lively writing that balances wit with commonsense advice, Smith draws on his more than 20 years' experience to cover everything you need to know to establish a charming and productive greenhouse.“Exceptionally comprehensive . . . a joy to read.”—Hobby Greenhouse Association

This book is packed with information (way more than I was looking for) and it would probably be worth keeping around as a reference. It has detailed growing tips for just about every plant you would want to grow in a greenhouse, and a lot of good general gardening information as well. It does feel a bit dated in places, and the layout of the ebook version I borrowed from the library had a lot of issues.
It covers everything you could possibly need to know as a beginner greenhouse enthusiast. Though mostly it focuses on full year social greenhouses. Wheras my interest is primarily in starting seedlings. It does cover seedlings a bit but guess will need to find another book for more depth on that. It does cover much greenhouse construction, plants, pests, diseases. So is a good reference to have around. It is a bit dated though, as they didn't know about LED lighting but otherwise good.
I had to return this book to the library before I finished it. But I intend to buy it some day. I was able to purchase good quality sprayers and misters based on recomendations. Also I feel like I can understand greenhouse catalogs much better. And have an understanding of different greenhouse options.
The absolute best book on greenhouse gardening! I refer to this book frequently when I have questions about my greenhouse. I have never been disappointed; this book addresses every question I've had thus far. Plus, it as enjoyable read. Smith has an engaging writing style that is entertaining and informative. Great book!
This is an excellent and thorough source book for everything one could possibly need or want to know about greenhouse gardening. The most appreciated food in our house is that which we can harvest on-site and this book has helped me with what I need to know. I learned a tremendous amount and now have a treasured reference book.
