This book was pure joy to read. I absolutely loved it. Great mix of characters, and I immediately fell in love with the orphaned child, David, the main character. I found myself drawn to his personality in such a way that triggered a variety of emotions throughout story's twists. He made me laugh, he made me sorrowful and he made me happy and proud, just as he did the diverse characters that touched his life after his father's death. The beauty of the story deepens as each of these characters de ...more

You must read this book to see the world in a different view. The way the story was wrote just makes you know there is goodness and hope in the world. David sees everything as beautiful and good. Can he get others to see that as well? Only time will tell.

A modern adaptation of Just David by Eleanor Porter. This is an inspiring novel about a boy who was raised to see only beauty. When he enters the rest of society, he causes a bit of a stir as he goes about trying to help others see the beauty in the world.

I loved this story. I was carried away to a simplerl time with the protagonist David. This is a book to purify your heart and soul with plenty of action and mystery as well. Such a beautiful read.

David and his sick father come down from their mountain home of 6 years to the valley and small town below to find a world that is intolerant and hostile. David is suddenly thrust into a life where his innocence is criticized and puts him in danger. This is a feel good book that has a predictable ending.
