Poet Butler, the first female President of the outlaw motorcycle club, Hells Redemption, has one basic rule in life: Don’t date bikers, ever.
After she’s randomly jumped during a clubhouse party, she takes off to her house in the hills to avoid her men seeing the bruises she’s sporting. The one flaw in her plan is the man who found her and demands to come with her.
Titan Warren, the President of Bishops Reign, is an arrogant prick Poet can’t stand. He’s entitled, pushy, and attractive as hell, which only pushes her to dislike him more.
Can Poet’s strength withstand bloodshed and conspiracy as the world she once knew falls apart? Or will she crumble under the pressure, and lose everything she’s ever known?

Awesome read! Loved Poet and Titan. Well crafted and interesting characters that left me wanting more. Definitely a different take on motorcycle club with a female president but it worked. Looking forward to starting the next book in the series.
HEA Cheating/OW/OM Any push/pull Any couple separation Angst Level: Low to Medium Heat Level: High
If you’re in the mood for a biker-lite read with a difference, this little book should fit the bill. At times it kind of stretches what is believable, but it was still an enjoyable evening read.
Poet is the first female president of Hells Redemption 1% MC. Being raised by a bunch of bikers while also being beautiful means she can kick your ass, shoot you down and be pretty while she’s doing it. Poet is a great at strategizing and when her father, the current MC President is killed, the vote is unanimous that she would take the gavel. Her club respects her, but not all other MC clubs do.
I liked Poet, except one thing gave me pause…she doesn’t date bikers. Since Poet is a biker and had convinced the club to treat their women with respect, that didn’t make a lot of sense to me. I understand her hesitations considering most bikers don’t respect women, but to me it sounded like she wanted to lead them but didn’t respect them enough to want to be with one. Then you find out her feelings are based around an affair she had with a 25 year old biker when she was 16. I get he was scum but to hold it against all bikers in general, especially when she was raised lovingly by bikers who made her into the strong kickass woman she is, seems kind of…..angsty and immature.
Titan is the very hot President of the somewhat rival club, Bishops Reign. He has a thing for Poet even though she wants not one thing to do with him. I liked Titan. He hit all those keywords that melt my butter – strong, gorgeous, and alpha. There is definitely some tension between the clubs, but they do party together so I was a little confused about why there was a rivalry. Titan’s son, Dirk, did need his ass kicked for his attitude but he seemed to be the only one with an issue.
There is some some biker grit, a dirty cop, sexual tension that was through the roof and lots of steamy action between Titan and Poet once they finally decided to relieve some of that tension. Some situations made my “yeah right” meter hit the red zone and the ending was kind of rushed but overall I enjoyed the book, enjoyed the characters and I look forward to the next one.
Wow, this book is so different from Juli Valenti’s other books. But, it’s just as great as the others. I love the story and the characters. I’m ready for more already. I know there are a ton of MC books out there, and it can be hard to find one that’s different. We.., look no further, this one is definitely different.
Poet Butler grew up in the Hells Redemption MC. Her dad was the President, and after his death, the brothers voted her the president. Yes, I said HER! Yes, she is a bad ass alpha female that is the President of an MC and she doesn’t take any shit from anyone. She started doing runs with them when she was really young. She shoots first, asks questions later. She’s tougher than most of the men.
“Jesus Christ, Poet. You’re a hard bitch to know, and an even harder one to try to know. You need to get the fuck off your high horse and let someone in – doesn’t matter who, but fucking someone, or you’re going to grow old and wrinkled and realize you’re nothing but alone.”
She has one rule…No Bikers! She won’t date bikers ever again!
Titan Warren is the President of the Bishop’s Reign MC. They are rivals to Hells Redemption. He also wants Poet BAD! He may just end up forcing his way in.
“You are my heaven, Poet.” “And my hell. What are you doing to me?”
When things start going horribly wrong, Titan helps his rival and takes care of Poet.
There are some twists in the story. I guessed at some parts, like I always try to do. But some completely through me for a loop. I didn’t see it coming. Boy when you have an alpha female and an alpha male come together, there is a huge issue with power and control. Also a lot of butting heads!
This book is so far out of my normal realm of interest that if I hadn’t heard so many good things about it, Poet would never have even been on my radar. I’m not generally interested in most romance, nor am I particularly interested in any sort of motorcycles. Motorcycle club romances are quite popular right now thanks to shows like Sons of Anarchy (which I have NOT seen and highly doubt I will, due to a complete and utter lack of interest).
To say Poet pleasantly surprised me would be a giant understatement.
Poet is a tough as nails chick making her mark as the first female President in the male dominated world of motorcycle clubs. She grew up in the life so it wasn’t something she decided to do on a whim. She had to prove herself probably more than any man would have had to do to gain the same position of power within the club.
Despite her hard exterior, Poet has a soft spot inside that she keeps well hidden from anyone who can potentially use it against her, which is almost everyone with whom she is in contact. She is a very likeable character and her personality is easy to relate to. Poet is the type of character that makes me want things to work out for her. I actually felt something for her. I felt protective over her in a way I generally don’t feel on the rare occasion that I read something this romantically inclined. Women tend to have to put on a strong front for many men to take us seriously, especially in positions of power. I feel bad for Poet in the sense that she has to keep her true self hidden or risk losing her club to someone who can potentially destroy all that she and her father (the previous President) worked so hard to build.
I loved the dynamic between Poet and her club members. They truly seem like a family. Some of how they are with each other reminded me a lot of my Dad and his friends that were in the Marine Corps with him. They could give each other the hardest time, but it was usually meant in good fun. Don’t you dare try to cross one without crossing all of them!
Titan’s character was difficult for me. As much as I didn’t trust Titan, I wanted him to be a good guy. I wanted him to be the man for Poet. The tension between him and Poet is sizzling hot though. I couldn’t wait to find out what was going to happen or not happen between them!
To be honest, I didn’t love the ending. I thought the explanation from the villain wasn’t sufficient. There were some twists and turns that I didn’t see coming, which was nice. The story is fast paced, funny at times, and full of action. I didn’t feel like I was ready to stop reading when I ran out of pages. Though my interest in motorcycles and motorcycle clubs is limited to almost non-existent, I really would like to read more about some of the other characters in this book. I also must admit that I plan to read the other books in the series when they are released.
I recommend this book to anyone looking for a fast paced, sometimes funny, very sexy story that occurs in the dangerous and mysterious world of a motorcycle club.
Great read!!! Not only do we get a hot alpha male, we get a gorgeous, bad ass alpha female who can stand toe to toe with him and not back down!!!! I just loved when she grabbed her Pink Lady .38 special revolver and threatens to shoot him after her got her all hot and bothered!!! Yesss!!! Titan knows he's gonna have to work to get into her pants!! As the only female president of an MC, Poet has gained the respect of her club members. After several attacks against her club, Poet is left reeling and trying to resolve the clues insinuating that Titan's club is behind it all. I thought I figured out who the bad guy was and why, but I was way off base. I can't wait to see who's story is next and see how Poet and Titan's relationship affects the two clubs in the next installment of the Redemption Reigns series.
I recieved a copy for an honest review. I love Juli Valenti and was so excited to read this book! It is different from her other books but every bit as good and well written! Poet is a bada**! I fell in love with her from the beginning. I loved that she is the president of a motorcycle club and very respected. The story really flowed well and I liked that we got little bits of backstory throughout the book. Titan is hot and awesome. He didn't give up on Poet and fought just as hard for her as she fought against him. The sex was steamy and rough. I feel this review is all over the place, but oh well! It was an amazing read and I can't wait for more! I loved every part of this story!!
Poet, tough as nails, strong woman, kick-@$$, doesn't take anything Pres of Hells Redemption! Titan, sexy, alpha, bad-@$$ Pres of Bishops Reign! When these two collide, sparks are flying all over the place! Poet and her club are being targeted. She gets beaten up and one of her men gets shot during a run by a rival club. While trying to find out who is behind the attacks, betrayal is uncovered in surprising directions! This book kept me turning the page! Loved the book and can't wait for more! If you like MC books, pick this up, you will be pulled in by Poet!
What really intrigued me about this story was the plot. A female MC Pres in a male dominated world? I was curious as to how she would pull it off. It's the fist I've read from the author and it won't be my last. The characters were interesting and Titan was one hot dude. I'm not quite convinced that the antagonist could have pulled off what he did over our heroine without her not having a single clue, but hey, they are stories for a reason : )There were a few minor grammatical errors but they did not detract much from the overall value of the story. I am looking forward to more from this series. :-p
I received this book in exchange for an honest review.
I'm not a big fan of MC books but this book is different. Poet is the first female president of the Hell's Redemption Motorcycle Club. She is very strong and well-respected by members of her club. Titan, who is the president of another MC, is protective, alpha, and HOT! Threats to Poet and her club bring Poet and Titan together.
This book is so exciting and so much is happening that I could not put it down. I loved it! It is a must-read if you like MC books or even if you don't. I can't wait to read more in this series!
I loved Poet it was the first book I have read by Juli Valentine and I was not disappointed. The storyline of a female leading a biker club drew me in along with the awesome cover. Poet was a badness and I fell in love with her and Titan. There relationship was one of a kind and I loved how different it was from other books I have read. While reading Poet I had no idea what was going to happen and I loved where the author took us. It was a biker story like many I have read but so unique that it will always be with me. I can't wait for the next book in the series.
This book had me hooked all the way until the end. There were twists and turns that kept me guessing. I really could not have predicted the end. The chemistry between Poet and Titan was off the charts. The writing was excellent. It was fast paced, but she took her time in all the right places. I love this book.
I really enjoyed this story, it was different to other MC stories in that one of the presidents was female. Great start to a new series I look forward to reading more.
First off, I love Poet (h) - this is the first MC book I've read where the President is female and I loved that automatically this sets the story up differently.
Second, I liked how Titan (H) pursued her - I can feel how much he liked her, and showed it in small ways.
There were a few things that didn't quite make sense to me (and perhaps I missed them in the book...?) but this could've easily been 4.5: - Titan's age was hella confusing. So Poet is 30, and she said he's maybe 10-15 years older than her, putting him at 40-45 years old. But then he said he left home when his sister was 9 and he was 16, so he's 7 years older than her; now she's 26, which means he's 33? BUT then, his son who he had at 18 is the VP - if he's 33 years old his son is only 15 years old!? WTF! - Dirk, Titan's son said that his dad always had a thing for Poet for years. So, my question is - what changed that made him pursue her now?
Beyond this, I wish we get more of them as a couple in an extended Epilogue or novella.
What started out as an MC book with a kickass heroine, ended as an MC book with a kickass heroine! I dislike when the heroine starts as one thing and has a complete personality change in the book. Poet was unapologetically strong and ruthless but allowed herself to be slightly vulnerable with Titan. Titan for his part accepted her for who she was. It wasn't hearts and flowers but rather, "I could fall in love with you" how sweet 🙃
Poet & Titan are right up there with classic love interests for me. Not my usual genre of romance reading, after meeting the author I wanted to give this a try. I'm so glad I didn't push it to the side. It's all about a strong woman MC president and her alpha male. I call him hers, because that's what she does. This story was all about good for me.
A different twist on the typical biker book, Poet has a female MC president who falls for the president of a rival club. Forget that this is unrealistic - that's why we read fiction, right? Poet is tough and smart, Titan is terrific - but the plot was just a little too unrealistic at the end of the day. Instalove, rival gangs, Braeden (and all that he entails) - there was just a little more there than I could reasonably suspend my disbelief on.
5 Stars|Amazon|Goodreads SO MUCH GOODNESS! This book was a breath of fresh air from my recent reads. Sometimes you just need one of those novels that grabs your right from that first line. This is one of them.
"I don't give a d*mn what you or any other misogynist thinks. "
This was a girl who had her stuff together and knew how to handle a situation. I was hooked.
I mean from that point on the book was filled with THOSE type of lines you just can ignore. The kind that make a really good book and an even better character.
This story. LOVED it. Full of mystery and suspense with the perfect blend of hot and steamy. I couldn't put it down once I started. It was a hunt for answers, but you just couldn't seem to pull yourself away from the romance whenever you got the chance. I was enamored.
"Funny, when I close my eyes, I can almost forget that I can't stop thinking about you."
Poet is the head of a MC . She has the loyalty of her men and the respect of those around her. One night changes everything. She is attacked and they have no idea by who. Her men are pissed and want blood. Add in some more questionable events and they know something is about to go down.
Happenstance leads Poet in the care of Titan despite her weak refusals and from there things get steamy. She needs to heal so she can get back to her men and hunt down some leads. In the meantime it can't hurt to enjoy herself a bit? Can it?
Now. Our characters. Poet is strong-willed and true to herself. I loved that even at her worst she never backed down. This character was not some damsel in distress. She took help when she needed it, but she handled things herself as much as she could. Strong, smart, and a girl in charge.
Titan. Yum. Can I have him? Please? He was our typical Alpha male, but knew he met his match with Poet. They were a delicate balance and it was most certainly a sight to read when they collided.
All in all I don't want to say more because this book is full of twists and turns you don't see coming. It was a nice chance in a MC read and I can't wait for what comes next!!

If I could rate this book 10 stars I would!! I'm not a huge MC book fan, but I have enjoyed reading some of Juli's other books before, so I definitely wanted to give POET a try. I am so glad I did!!! Poet is the female President of Hells Redemption motorcycle club and she doesn't take crap from anybody. She was voted in by the men of HR and she definitely has their respect. At a club party she is jumped and is in tough shape. Because she's tough as nails, she doesn't want her men to see her like that so she decides to take off & lay low for a while. What she didn't expect was the arrogant, stubborn and drop dead gorgeous leader of the rival club, Bishops Reign, would be joining her on the trek up to her getaway.
The book stared off with a bang and the action never stopped. It's quick to set up the tension and conflict between the rival motorcycle clubs. But it's more than just that. There are a lot of opposing sides in this book and the yin/yang give and take keeps you hooked as a reader. Here's Poet, strong in mind and body, the female lead in a motorcycle club (Hell's Redemption), meeting with two men from the rival club (Bishop's Reign). The men in HR listen & respect Poet, but the BR boys think a female's place is on the back of a bike, not at the head of the table. But she retorts and tells them "if pu*sy belongs on the back of a bike, perhaps you should climb on mine!". Oh yeah Poet!!
Juli's writing style was smooth and seamless. I did not feel like I was reading a book. Instead I felt like I was right there, maybe like an extra in a movie. I felt like I was part of it and I was really able to get into the story. I felt all the emotions of Poet, her guts, courage, love, pain and hurt. I also connected with Titan, the male lead of the rival MC. On the surface he might seem like a stubborn and arrogant prick (as Poet calls him many times!) but there is definitely a depth to him and you get to feel everything he goes through as well. I am not your typical reader as I don't read a book straight through, but when I read Poet, I was so into the story and the relationships between all the characters that I wanted to ride with them to see how it all ended. Oh...and the ending? I may have picked up on a few small things. But it did not end as I expected. Juli kept me guessing and I couldn't put it down until it was done.
This book was definitely hot but it was not all about sex. It's all about the opposing forces, the give and the take, the heaven and hell, the good and the bad, the pain and the pleasure. Titan at one point tells Poet "You are my heaven, Poet. And my hell. What are you doing to me?" I found myself highlighting so many passages that totally resonated with me as a reader. I can highly recommend this book and think you will enjoy getting to know these characters. The book will give you the chance to have a strong female lead who is not your typical "female hero". I cannot wait for the next book to come out so I can see how their story continues!
I finished this book in one day. Any avid reader knows this is the highest compliment. If you are a romance novel fan, read this book. You will not be disappointed.
Now, for the details...
If you're a fan of Sons of Anarchy, you will appreciate this book even more, although this is a romance, so the focus is on the two love interests. Don't expect the all-out cringe-worthy grittiness of the TV show. There's plenty of gritty, just not the same prison-rape shock value (which I consider a GOOD thing for a romance novel).
The characters are well-developed, 3-dimensional and surprisingly relatable (I don't know about you, but being a female MC member is not my cup of tea, and yet I still connected with Poet). I think there is so much more to both Titan and Poet, but that's because the author did such a good job exploring their personalities, flaws, and aspirations that I want to know more.
And the sex? Steamy steamy steamy. Big thumbs up. Double thumbs up. This is not your typical gratutitous sex, either. While I'm a lover of erotica and steamy romance, I also insist on the sex scenes making sense...you know what I'm talking about...the act has to contribute to the story, otherwise it's like 80's porn. Am I right? The pizza guy knocks on the door. The housewife answers the door. *cue the bouncy bass* Yeah, no. Not that at all.
Overall, I give this book 5 peace signs. Excellent.
I am a big fan of MC books and I can honestly say that this was a story well worth reading. It was just so different to anything else that I have read lately, also it was well written, the story flowed nicely and it kept moving along and not stagnating. There were some great hot sex scenes but they didn't overpower the rest of what was going on and there was not just the super hot fantastic alpha male lead but also a super hot fantastic alpha female lead. All around a great read and really looking forward to book 2 (original read june 27)
re-read december prior to reading Artist and loved it just as much the second time around (dec 2015)
june 2017 - Fallen has been released, getting back in the right mindset a re-read is essential. no trial here, i love this book. even with the violence and angst and everything that goes with it ... this is a love story. this series is about kick ass female leads and strong, unwavering alpha males. the girls show their vulnerabilities but their inner strengths and their dedication to self, club and partner are what makes these books special. Love that they call their club girls "sweeties" and that these girls do not feature as jealous, bitchy subplots. short fast read, great writing, engaging characters, and a couple that you are cheering for from their very first interactions in the story.
I love to read but weak females or damsels in distress are so popular and cliche. This book definitely isn't that book. Poet is a tough female, she is the only female president of a motorcycle club. Raised in the club and voted as president after the death of her father Poet isn't looking for love and definitely isn't looking for a biker. When she's viciously attacked it's her rival that is there to help her. Titan is all alpha, but is he strong enough to stand with and against this fiery alpha female? Poet is used to giving all the orders and lives by one rule, she doesn't date bikers ever so why does her body betray her when it comes to Titan? With a threat to her life and her MC, will Poet find love or will she follow her own rules and run from the biker who wants her heart?
I loved Poet as a strong woman and as a biker. Her no nonsense, kicking ass/taking names attitude drew me in immediately and took me for a ride. I couldn't put the book down and I wanted to know who was in the shadows trying to end P.It was completely refreshing to read a woman who could be strong and fierce without wanting a man to save the day. Poet is truly my favorite MC book I've read and I can't wait so what is in store for Redemption Reigns book two.
Loved this one!! Pretty much read it in one sitting (not literally...kids and life and all...but the book went where I went, lol). Poet was a phenomenal character - strong, fierce and courageous, with a vulnerable soft side hidden away until Titan comes along and basically demands she show it. He was the perfect match for her in so many ways, but I especially appreciated how the author managed to balance the relationship between these two characters without ever compromising what either was about.
The chemistry between these two was off the charts - add to that a suspenseful plot and a twist that will have you on the edge of your seat most of the time and you had better have cleared your schedule before you pick this one up!
Juli Valenti never lets me down. She continually delivers compelling stories that break the mold and suck you in as a reader. Juli does it again in her latest novel Poet. This was the first motorcycle club book I have read, but I throughly enjoyed it!
Where do I even begin? This story delivered on so many levels. There was action, romance, suspense, mystery, more action, love, empowerment, humor - the list goes on and on! The main character, Poet, is the foremost female president of a motorcycle club and she is no holds, no bars. Poet says what she means and means what she says and boy does she keep her word. I finished this book a few days back, but the story and the "Oh my God!" moment in the end still sticks with me. I look forward to the next book in the series.
A Poetic MC story...who knew? Anyway, Great read, Nice twist...
This book was a nice twist on the MC theme. Poet (love her name) is a tough strong MC leader with a warm side. She's not one to give an inch. I love how she not only holds her own, but also thrives in a world normally ruled by men. She does things the way she wants and makes no apologies. I love Titan (love his name) as her equal.
SPOILER: The only hard thing to swallow was that she didn't recognize her boyfriend from her past. When a person makes an impression on you, there's no way you won't recognize them, dye job or not. If not for that, this would have been a five star.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
In real life, women ride; there are all female MCs; not sure if there is or has ever been a female president of an existing MC full of alpha males. The possibility of Poet really being Pres is doable based on the character's history within the MC and how she has handled herself all these years. This was a very good story with an interesting romance between the two presidents of rival, though not enemy, clubs. I liked Titan very much! Looking forward to the next in the series.
I picked up this book at the Coastal Magic Convention. I was very sceptical about getting another MC book. Especially one with a female president. But after talking to the author, I decided to give it a try. I am happy to say, I am glad I did. I found it to be well written. Not the typical MC book that I have read so many of. I loved the blend of toughness and sensitivity of the characters. I couldn't put it down. I look forward to reading the next one in the series.
This book was amazing!! Poet is a total bada$$! Being the president of an MC requires it. Titan is the president of his MC and the chemistry between these two is explosive! Titan knows what he wants and is determined to get it. Her life is danger along with her heart. Can they figure out who is trynig to kill her and can she lower her walls to let Titan in?
I'm not a writer, but I am a reader and I loved the easy flow of this book! Poet became a real person and I was standing behind her hoping she was making the right choices! No spoils so just read!
Love these two. Such strong leads. But by the end they worked well together. Can't wait to read more. Poet was a strong woman. She did let herself go a little but she sure did keep them big bad boys in line.
