I was hurt. I was heartbroken. I felt abandoned and emotionally drained.

Sometimes heartache can open new doors.

Of course, names have been changed to protect all parties involved, but this is my story.

Thanks for visiting my little slice of Goodreads heaven!

This is the part where I provide readers with a little background info about moi. Here it goes...

Harper Miller is a native New Yorker who pens love stories that occasionally merge the sentimental and provocative. She’s traveled the world and lived in a variety of places but always finds her way back to the Big Apple. A lackluster love life leaves time to explore new interests; for Harper, it is writing romance.

She’s a former member of the Romance Writers of America, serving for two years on the board of the New York City chapter as Vice President of Communications. She’s served as an Associate Editor and columnist for the Pink Heart Society a monthly online magazine for readers and writers of books with lots of heart. Harper is also one of the co-creators of the Queer Romance PoC Collective.

When she isn’t writing, Harper utilizes her graduate degree in the field of medical research. She enjoys pop culture trivia, fitness-related activities, drinking copious amounts of wine, and going on bad dates.

Why romance? Hmm, well, I write because I see stories as mini-movies playing in my head, and I’m crazy sappy. I’m the type of woman who watches the Hallmark channel with a box of Kleenex on standby. Friends to lovers trope FTW! I also write because we need more PoC & LGBTQIA+ persons front and center as main characters in romance. Representation matters!

Sweet and oh so incredibly SEXY!
It's indecent, it's fast, it's delectable.
I'm really delighted with the format for this series. Each story stands completely alone with no cliffhangers and each novella features a new couple with new backstories and new kinks.

The common thread which binds each book is the fictional dating site KinkySinglesConnect.com (Yes, that's a live link, and yes you can interact with the website featured in this series.)

This innovative format means that Harper Miller can bring readers something fresh and fun with each book of this series - the possibilities are endless! So many kinks, so little time :) but oh so much Kindle space, so bring it on!

Tanya
I know nothing about the man, but I liked that he didn't judge me. I liked that he didn't think something was wrong with me. He just let me be me.
Tanya just got out of a bad marriage, she's separated from her cheating husband. While snooping on her ex's laptop, she comes across KinkySinglesConnect.com - curious to discover what lured her husband away to other women, Tanya creates an account and logs on.

Once she gets past her initial shock at the plethora of kinky fun being advertised on the site, she winds up reluctantly chatting with one of the members.

With her anonymity firmly intact, Tanya spills her whole story to a complete stranger on the internet.

Kenji
"I won't complicate your life, but I will enhance it. You have my word."
Kenji is a model and an unapologetic kinkster. He prefers dark-skinned women, has a foot fetish, and an oral fixation that will curl the reader's toes - and Tanya's too, eventually!

He's the perfect listener, and it doesn't take long for Tanya to form a bond with him. They chat a few times online and a friendship of mutual respect is born.

I love that these two characters form a connection sight unseen.

Tanya is a flight attendant, and Kenji travels for work. When they finally come face to face in a Heathrow Airport Terminal, sparks fly.

Holy hell, people! I've read some intense public trysts in my day, but the first hookup with this couple is scorching hot.

*fans self*

The story progresses at a wonderful pace. Nothing felt rushed even in this short format. It was a wonderful, sexy, quick read.

This story concluded with a satisfying and realistic HEA. Harper Miller has a wonderfully unique way of wrapping up her Kinky Connect Chronicle books, and you'll have to check it out for yourself! :)

Thank you Harper Miller for proving that a quick short read can also be hella good!

This is a story about a flight attendant, Tanya and a Japanese/British model, Kenji . She meets him at a low point in her life, after only recently finding out that her husband had cheated on her.

Likes
-Very well written, with no obvious mistakes.
-The cover!!!
-The Asian Male/Black Female Pairing.
-That the MCs didn't leap into bed immediately. They felt each other out first. And for a book essentially about a hook-up, it was a lot more than that.
-It was nice to take a break from the caricatures so prevalent today in romance, and it was lovely to read about a heroine who wasn't TSTL and a hero who wasn't a little boy in a grown man's body, feigning Alpha behavior.
-And of course the Kinky Connection was pretty hot!
-The author has a website where you can read the epilogue of the story and listen to a playlist for the book, I thought that was pretty cool and fun!

Dislikes
-Nothing at all, which is pretty rare for a short. At the end of reading I felt like I got everything out of the story that I could possibly ask for!

This is another super little read from Harper Miller. The writing is flawless and I loved the characters.

Tanya has separated from her cheating husband. In a not too honest way she comes across a web site for people with kinky fetishes. Here she starts chatting to Kenji. As its a short read I can't really say much more without spoiling it.

Give this a chance. I enjoyed it:)

P.s. If the ending has you gasping make sure you read the last page!!!!

Renewed is the second installment in The Kinky Connect Chronicles by author Harper Miller. The Chronicles are standalone novelettes that pack a lot of story into a very limited number of pages. I had planned to wait and release a review on release day, but I enjoyed reading this story so much that I couldn't wait to share my thoughts on it. Because it is so short, I can't tell too much about it without spoiling the experience, so I'll do my best to keep my review of Renewed short and sweet.

What It's About

Tanya is an airline stewardess whose husband has done the the very thing that she won't abide - he's strayed into the bed of another woman. Legally separated, Tanya is heartbroken, hurt and confused why her husband would look outside of their marriage instead. In her attempts to find answers, she discovers a website for people with alternative/kinkier desires. It is on this site that she meets Kenji, a handsome man who opens the door to a new world of sexual fulfillment and friendship.

The Good
Once again Harper Miller has written mature people who make decisions that are NOT based on naivety (no blushing virgins overwhelmed by the scent of an attractive man), coercion, or the nauseating repetition of "Mine!" from a hero with the bank account of a billionaire. Tanya is a woman just trying to understand why her marriage went south, and Kenji is just a man looking for a connection. It's that plain and simple. The anonymity of the Internet allowed them to form a connection that made future interactions and budding emotions seem more valid. The author does this in a story that's only 40 or so pages long.

The Bad
This is a standalone title that's cliffhanger free. That said, it definitely has that "To Be Continued..." vibe that had me falling out like a two year old having a tantrum (yes, I was that into what was taking place.)!

The Ugly
Fortunately, this book was clear of ebook ugliness! There wasn't anything that was a major turn-off for me.

My Final Thoughts
This is the third Harper Miller book that I've had the pleasure to read and it's official, I'm a fan. Here is an author who clearly knows how to tell a story without all of the gimmicks that are becoming far too common in IR books today. Additionally, there is certainly a lot of story for the length. That means a lot considering I generally loathe such short stories as they simply don't deliver enough story to make it worth my time. Although I enjoyed Renewed for the most part, I have to say that I didn't care for the way that the book closed. Fortunately you can read up on Tanya and Kenji by visiting the website that is mentioned at the end of the ebook. Unfortunately, it bothered me enough to deduct a half of a star from what would have easily been a five star review.

*Sensitivity Warning: This book contains infidelity*

This is another good book in the The Kinky Connect Chronicles stand-alone series by Harper Miller. This time around readers meet Kenji, a Japanese fashion model who has a foot fetish and a preference for dating African American women.

I love Kenji. He and his love interest Tanya will have your stomach tied up in knots over choices they make.
Like the last Kinky Connect Chronicles, Renewed ends with a cliffhanger that will have your jaw open.

If you're into sexy kinky reads and don't mind storylines with cheating then Renewed is for you. I'm giving this a toe-curling, foot-licking solid 4 stars.

Reeling from the heartache inflicted upon her by her cheating husband, Tanya encounters Kenji in a way she never thought to explore on her own. After reluctantly engaging in conversation with Kenji things rapidly heat up between the two. Miller quickly takes her readers into an encounter that is hot and true to the series title-kinky. I wasn't expecting the kink that appeared but it worked!

RENEWED, the latest installment in Harper Miller's KINKY CONNECT CHRONICLES is yet another excitingly erotic tale that although short will leave the reader happy to have taken the quick dip. I am not a huge fan of really short stories but Miller manages to make me feel that I received all of what I need to enjoy these little gems. Don't forget to access the website that Miller provides at the end to get just a little more of Tanya's and Kenji's story.

Tanya has it all a career, husband and the prospects of raising a family. Often times when you don’t confront what’s wrong it all can blow up in your face and you have no choice but to face the truth. Mark like many men started off as her prince charming but down the line communication was lost, needs weren’t met and well life happens. Because of her past trust and relationships are number one for Tanya. She married young and like many young girls was sold a dream well now Tanya wants a refund. Mark her husband the cheater stopped being what she thought he was and seeking fulfillment elsewhere. Curiosity gets the better of her and Tanya logs on to her husband’s computer to find out what he has been up to. Well surprise, surprise he joins a “fetish” website and this is where the journey begins…..

JapKenDoll (once you read the story you will understand the reference) Kenji is everything!!! Ladies I mean he is understanding and can put it down although the toe thing isn’t for me but to each his own. What I don’t get is how your man cheat on you and you log on to this kinkysinglesconnect website and meet someone better? Is Harper Miller selling this website or what? I’m not mad!!! When I read the screen names I thought how cliché but have you seen the cover? Just wow!!!!
I will say that Tanya drove me crazy. She wants to move on but her husband infidelities and loneliness shadow her life. And what man wants to continuous chat about you ex? I didn’t know if she really was interested in Kinji or he was just a very sexy distraction. For instance she mentions her lonely existent she has no meaningful relationships and Kinji is a great conversationalist. I wish in the story we got more of his point of view than in the epilogue. With this story I felt like it was more happening off the pages. Tanya’s artificial struggle of I am married I can’t and then in the next sentence she is down for whatever and however. That girl!!!! She was just a mess of sexual frustration, curiosity and something else I can’t put my finger on. I know the author warned readers this was a novelette I just wish it was longer and that more development was given to the relationship because it was hard for me to feel the connection between the two. I wanted Kenji’s p.o.v. more and just more of the story in general. All in all this was a good read I just wanted more development. If you are looking for a quick summer read one click this book right away. Please judge this book for yourselves and not based on this one review.

I’ma keep it real with y’all and tell you what drew me to this book: The freaking cover. That dude is FOINE!!! Ok, I had to get that out. Renewed is book 2 in the Kinky Connect series by Harper Miller, and like all the stories past and future, this one is a quickie meant to be read in one sitting. This is Tanya and Kenji’s story.

Although this story is short, it got me all up in arms and feeling some kinda way. You ever read a story where you like the story, but you just can’t connect or get down with one of the main characters? Yeah, Tanya got me feeling that way. She’s a 28 yr-old married flight attendant who has just separated from her husband after she discovers that he cheated on her. While in the midst of her legal separation, she signs onto her husband’s laptop to snoop on him only to discover that he frequents a kink site, the very site where he found the hoebag he was cheating with. After the initial shock of it all wears off, she continues to peruse the site and meets this dude who goes by JapKenDoll (cute) and they strike up a platonic conversation.

Kenji is a gorgeous, sexy Japanese model with a foot fetish among other things. Admittedly, this is all new territory for me as a reader, and this is mild contained to some hardcore kink/fetish romances. Kenji knows his role, and he plays it well, but I did find him at times pushy in his handling of Tanya, but I get that’s the dominant side of his personality.

Tanya on the other hand made me want to lay these hands. While I understand she married very young and her husband has been the only man she’s ever been with, it seemed like she didn’t want to let the marriage go even after the revelation of his infidelity, the separation and her ultimate hookup with Kenji. Mark (her husband) was always at the forefront of her mind. “Kenji, I’m still married…” blah, blah, blah. I wanted to yell “Bitch, then why are you here? Sign out and keep it moving!!!”

As always, the story ends on an explosive cliffhanger that is resolved when you visit the actual site. I think I look forward to those the most when I’m reading this series because not only is the cliffhanger resolved, but there’s always a sweet and romantic HEA to look forward to. Toe sucking…Chile…

Another good Harper Miller Read! Yet another story I'm sad to see end. I think this is the first erotica series that I actually feel invested in. There are a few authors that I feel like messaging the moment I finish a story, and she is officially one of them. The main question being 'Is there anymore? Can there be more? please?'

I really enjoyed Tanya and Kenji. While I can't say I follow the kinks, but it was a cute story. I love the respect and realism that Harper Miller puts into her books. She writes romance/erotica characters that I actually like! I love it! I'm starting the third in the series tonight and I'm hoping to grab the fourth in a few weeks.

I have to say that I am enjoying this neat series from Harper Miller, all centered around a steamy little website called KinkySingles.com. The first story, Ironic was BLISTERING hot and Renewed is no different. From the cover to the epilogue, I was drawn into the inevitable union of Tanya and Kenji. Also, Miller is reminding me of my affinity for Asian men. Kenji sounds.. delightful. And by delightful I mean DAMN HOT.

Wounded, hurt and confused by her husband's betrayal, Tanya is a woman on the verge of divorce. When her husband moves out of the condo they share, but forgets his laptop, she decides to take a sneak peek and finds that he's been frequenting a dating site for people who are open to the kinkier side of life. Now intrigued, Tanya wants to know... what do these people offer that I don't? How can he hang out here but not talk to me about what he was missing?

Still curious, she opens an account, where she is approached by Kenji, who is polite and not at all dudebro about being brushed off a few times. Tanya lets her guard down and... well the rest is sexy, hot hot HOT... history. I love the eventual face to face meeting....and then the last-minute tryst... the story isn't very long so I don't want to give too much away. Just GET IT AND READ IT, IT'S AWESOME, OKAY?

I sat in my car right before work and read it ALL, could not stop reading.

Here's what I like about this project. It's a series of pieces-- novelettes (not short stories, not novellas)-- that all tie together but they're not a continuing story. Each is its own Universe and gravitational pull. And there's always an epilogue that takes you back to Miller's site to get an exclusive follow-up of each couple. There you find info on the author and other good stuff. I love little goodies that tie back to something else. A good idea for this series!

ON TO THE NEXT ONE! Already ready for the next installment from KinkySingles.com.

*I was provided an ARC of Renewed in exchange for an honest review. I am not compensated for my honest opinion.*

After finding out her husband has been cheating on her, twenty-eight-year-old Tanya is done with him, and with love. But she’s curious about what led him astray. She creates a profile on the kinky website he’s been visiting, and while she’s there, a guy named Kenji finds and befriends her. Even though she’s not looking to make any kinky connections, Tanya finds herself giving in and meeting Kenji when they both happen to be at Heathrow airport at the same time.

The connection Tanya feels to Kenji has her exploring her kinky side in an airport bathroom and even trying out his fetish. But now she has to decide if she’s willing to continue exploring, or if she’s happier keeping her heart safe.

Renewed is another short story that is part of the Kinky Connect Chronicles by Harper Miller. It’s short and to the point, continuing the theme of strangers meeting on a kinky website. I enjoyed the fact that Tanya wasn’t actually looking to make a connection on the website, and at first she and Kenji were only friends. What she really needed was someone to open up to, and Kenji allowed her to do that. This led to their relationship being based on something more than a fetish. But at the same time, it also allowed Tanya to open up in other ways, including exploring Kenji’s foot fetish and exhibitionism.

I have to say that the foot fetish didn’t exactly turn me on, but the author was able to turn up the heat by showing how much the characters enjoyed it. The exhibitionism, on the other hand, was hot all on its own.

I would have liked to know a little more about what Kenji was doing on the website that led him to Tanya, but I understand not everything can be covered in such a short story. For what it did accomplish, Renewed is enjoyable and hot. It’s a quick read that explores the kinkier side of life. I look forward to more stories in this series.

I absolutely love Harper Miller and her short stories!! Some people probably wonder why waste your time on a 45 page story? Let me count the ways:
1. You will always have a story line even though they may be short & sweet, they are totally worth the read
2. The sex...holy hell...after all, they aren't name "The Kinky Connect" books for nothing
3. There is humor
4. There is an HEA and I absolutely love how Harper delivers it

Okay, so now that I have once again addressed my love for Harper, let me get down to my review of Renewed. It was crazy, sexy, beautiful, funny, steamy...I could go on and on but I'm sure you get the direction I'm going. This is the hard part, because it is a short story, there's only so much I can say that will keep my review spoiler free. If you have read Ironic, then you know that the characters meet on a web site and if not, well now you do and that's I'm all I'm going to say. While Tanya was investigating the reason her life had fallen apart, she never expected to meet anyone but when Kenji comes along, there is an undeniable attraction and Tanya finds herself in a position that she would have never put herself in a million years but she is unable to just walk away either. I think I literally drooled at certain parts in this story because oh em gee, Kenji was able to bring Tanya out of her shell and so much more! This story just shows you it is okay to follow your heart and head and not everything has to be traditional.

I am most certainly excited for more to come from "The Kinky Connect Chronicles"!!

Once again, Harper Miller has written a short yet amazing novel!

It’s only her second novel but her stories gets better and better! There are more emotions and feelings poured into RENEWED!

Tanya got her heart crushed and in the process of trying to think about her future and leave behind her heartache, she met Ken. To someone who just faced a heartache, Tanya isn’t sure that she’s ready for any relationships.

Tanya is sexy. Literally. Her personality is wonderful and honestly, that man who gave her the heartache, I would like to punch him!

Ken is one of the sexiest and nicest person ever! Not to mention someone with a rather strange fetish. Haha!

(It’s not really strange…just really rare!)

I would just like to say how painful it is whenever I read Miss Harper Miller’s novels because of the ending she gives at the end of the book!

Highly recommended for all readers who wants a short, contemporary romance, erotica!

Tanya, a 28 year old woman, has just found out her husband has been cheating on her. After receiving this information, she vows to be done with him and with love. When she realizes her husband has been cheating with women he found on a website, she is curious as to what it is about. She joins the website, and creates a connection with Kenji. Although Tanya is not looking for anything sexual, she feels drawn to Kenji in a way she has never been before. When she gives into temptation, she meets Kenji at Heathrow airport. She experiences a whole other side to her when she meets Kenji in the airport bathroom.

Renewed is the second instalment of the Kinky Connect Chronicles. It is a very short read, which continues on the theme of meeting singles on a website. I loved the fact that Tanya did not go onto the website strictly looking for a connection and sex. I would have liked more background info on Kenji and his past and why he was on the website in the first place. I also was not a huge fan of the foot fetish; however, I was able to overlook it, since I enjoyed the rest of the book. I did really like the exhibitionist part of the story, I found it incredibly hot.

Overall, I give this book a 4/5 stars!

If you've follow my reviews you KNOW I only do audiobooks. PERIOD. NO EXCEPTIONS (usually). Well I had to make an exception for this series. The author assured me these are quick interesting and kinky reads and boy was she right.

I liked the characters of Tanya and Kenji, but I LOVED Kenji a lot. Kenji was sure of who he was and what he liked and didn't make an apologies for it. He was true to himself and kept things classy and 100 through the whole story. That bathroom and window business!!! LAWD YES!!

Tanya wasn't my favorite character and that's not to say i didn't like her. Self-doubt is normal and I had to remind myself that she wasn't in the best head space and there was a reason for her doubts, but in the end I'm happy with how the couple turned out.

Loved the epilogue, Glad we got that peek into Kenji's head.

Overall this little kinky series is a great way to spend an hour or two getting all hot and bothered ;)

I've never read a novelette before. This is also my first time reading any of Harper's work.

I really enjoyed the pace of the writing and it flowed well. I was intrigued by the premise of the story and wish I could read more about them.

I rated it a 4 because it just ended so abruptly. It does have an epilogue available, which answers a few of the questions left in the end. I know a novelette is short and designed to be this way, but the abrupt ending startled me and left me wanting a bit more. I understand the design of a novelette is to be quick, but I just felt that the ending was rushed. I will say that the chemistry between the two characters was palpable and enjoyable to read. The scenes were HOT and different. I totally recommend this novelette, especially to those who are in the mood for a quick, steamy read.

For short stories, Harper sure packs a punch without feeling rushed. It is so rare that I feel like I get a complete story in something so short. Harper has done it twice now in this series. Of course, I want more because I’m a greedy reader, but it’s not because anything is lacking…just that I’m not quite ready to go.

Tanya and Kenji meet on the Kinky Connect site and form quick, mostly innocent, bond in their anonymity. They become online friends and confidants first, which I thought was spectacular in its normalcy. It was absolutely what was necessary for Tanya after she booted her cheating husband. Then, the stars align, and she and Kenji meet, and…I’m surprised they didn’t burn down the building.

Renewed is a fresh start, taking a chance, trying something new, reclaiming one’s self after everything falls apart.

It’s also quick, dirty, kinky romp, and hot as hell.

I'm always excited when my peers trust me with their babies. I was like a kid in a candy story when I got the second installment in Harper Miller's The Kinky Connect Chronicles. We meet Tanya who's going through a particularly trying personal time. I didn't really feel Tanya because a) she stayed in her head a bit too much for me, and b) it was hard for me to peg down her personality. I loved the meeting between Tanya and Kenji. As an aside, that is the one thing I do appreciate about Miss Miller's stories, she does give us unique reading experiences. Okay, so back to my review. The hero's persona captivated me right away, and I became more engaged right at the airport scene when Tanya and Kenji were face-to-face. I want more Kenji.

4 Platypires for Renewed By Harper Miller

After reading Ironic, I had to read the second book. No, book one did not end in a cliffhanger. I just needed more of Harper Miller's work. Yeah, she knows how to write a good kinky romance story. Hats off to her.
This time around its more of kinkysinglesconnect.com hook ups. I very much liked this couple. Tanya and Kenji were just hot together. This was also the first time I read about a certain fetish and truly thought it was tastefully done. Just Whoa!
Overall this was a really good short story and I would recommend it to others who are open mined.

This book is a novelette so it is short and hot. The main characters Tanya and Kenji connect when Tanyas life is in major upheaval. The connection is intense and helps build a very satisfying relationship in a just a few short chapters. My only complaint is just as I was getting into the story it was over. Harper does write a beautiful epilogue from Kenji’s point of view that wraps the story up nice and neat but it’s located on her website.

Where do I start?

This novelette is short but to the point. It is about a wife done wrong by her cheating husband she decides to check his laptop and what she finds leads Tanya to meet JapKenDoll online and a whole new prospective to her life......this is not the best read or the worst it was just weird. To read the epilogue you have to go to a link and put in a code to get the epilogue.....

I would say it's okay if you've got a spare hour on maybe a train journey but don't get your hopes up, you may love it but it wasn't for me.

This novelette is fun and sexy. The topic of cheating is rampant these days and I was glad to see that this was about moving on not about the drama of the betrayal.
Tanya meets Kenji online and they become friends, when Tanya confides in him about Mark’s cheating.
What happens when these two decide to meet for coffee is explosive. Very well written.

I really enjoyed this book. The author has a great voice and the writing was clean, tight and emotional.

This was a quick little story but it lacked nothing the way some novellas do. Great job Harper Miller.

Now i'm off to find out what's next...

I was happy to get this ARC in exchange for an honest review. The book was witty and hot and I likes the chemistry between Tanya and Kenji was off the charts.
I loved Kenji's personality as well. Though the book was short, it was worth the read.

Kinky Kenji. This was a sexy little romp and quite entertaining for someone looking for a quickie read. I liked the heroine and hero and thought it was a great intro for someone coming out of their vanilla shell.

A super fast and sexy read. Harper Miller has another hit on her hands. Can't wait to see what she comes up with for number 3!

1. SO HAPPY to have a male asian love interest in a m/f pairing!!! (It's easier to find them in m/m)

2. This wasn't for me, but then I tend to struggle with novellas/novelettes so I will still be checking out Harper Miller's other books for sure! The kink bits were definitely well written.

Never knew it could be like this.

Kenij and Tanya was hot, my heart went out to her. Her husband was no good, but he didn't want her to move on. He wanted to cheat and all that, but was man when she moved on to something new. Kenij was just what to doctor order.
