On a ship sailing to undreamed shores...

Martian doctor Sita Chandra left her rich and powerful lover Max Ross years ago to protect their child from his enemies, never thinking she'd see him again. But now she and Max are stuck together on a space ship traveling from Earth back home to Mars, and the passion between them is as hot as ever before--and just as dangerous.

After reading the first two books in the Once Upon a Red World series (Ice Red and Ladder to the Red Star), I was blown away by how Jael Wye could take distant, geeky, fatherly, abstract genius Max Ross, a secondary character from the earlier books, and turn him into a hunky hero. I'm here to tell you that still waters run deep and lean can be mean.

Ross is reeling from the disastrous fallout of his personal life and the near-death experiences of his adult daughters from the first two books in th

Game of the Red King is the short but slightly epic conclusion to the author’s Once Upon a Red World series. The series begins with Ice Red and continues with Ladder to the Red Star.

The setting is a future solar system, where Earth is overburdened and under-funded, and the future of humanity looks like it will happen on the advanced tech Mars colonies. Earth is dying, slowly but probably inevitably, and Mars is in the ascendant.

Loved this story!

I thoroughly enjoyed the novella, Game of the Red King, the third installment in Jael Wye’s Science Fiction Romance series, Once Upon a Red World. It has all the ingredients that keep you up until two a.m.—great writing, emotion and suspense. Ms. Wye’s futuristic world is easy to get lost in. Her characters (aliens and humans) are so engaging, sexy and unique they stay with you days after you’ve finished the book. For those of you following her series, this is Max and Sita’s sto

I loved this third story in the series, this time with an older couple who get a second chance at love - my favorite theme. When Sita and Max are stuck together on a space ship traveling to Mars, the mistakes of their past are present every time they encounter each other, and it doesn’t seem like they’ll ever get past them. When a madman targets Max for his bizarre collection and threatens everyone on the ship with death, Sita and Max have to work together to save each other as well as a ship fu ...more

The blurb is misleading. Sita left Max because he hurry her feelings not because of dangers to her and her family. They reunite and things are looking up until a madman kidnaps Max and threatens his family. A really quickly read once you get into it.
