Sandra Greene knows men don't go for women like the invisible ones, the plain ones scrambling to make a living without benefit of the right connections, college degree, and fashionable clothes. But her life is changed forever when, at an old friend's wedding, she meets the wealthy socialites of the Hunt Club. They proudly claim they made that wedding possible, and they make Sandra an offer no woman can refuse. Sandra is guaranteed to marry any man she wants—no matter how good-looking, rich, powerful, or successful. All she has to do is play their matchmaking "game." Seduced by the promise of makeovers, money, and matrimony, she quickly joins the Hunt Club and can't wait to go after the husband of her dreams—a sexy Hollywood actor. At first it all seems too wonderful to be true as she changes her life and is about to get her guy—until the FBI steps in asking questions. Just how far will these women go to get what they want? That's when Sandra begins to realize that matchmaking is really murder...possibly in more ways than one!

A book about a group of ladies who hunt for husbands...but the hunting may have gone too far. Easy, entertaining read that kept me intrigued as there were twists not normally found in this genre.
Okay- this is a book that I just had fun reading. The story is a young girl (21 or so), goes to the wedding of a friend and is amazed that said friend is marrying a well-off, handsom guy. And there is a group of ladies saying they made the match happen--the Hunt club. Well, she joins the club and enters a world where these women will put on productions to get the man--and maybe go too far!
I expected this to be a "beach" book--fun and light with nothing to hook me in years to come. But it had depth and fun and mystery enough that I'm going to try to get a copy of my own. And I'll be watching for more from Landolt!
I finished this book last night and all I can say is wow! there were a few twists that I didn't anticipate so that was a nice way to wrap up the book.
The book is set primarily in the DFW area and so it was nice to recognize places in the area. A friend of mine wrote this book so when I saw a few other things mentioned (like our alma mater) it threw me for a moment because I forgot who wrote it!
This started out as typical Chick Lit and then switched gears and became a page turner. The plot is a little far-fetch, but totally enjoyable. The twist at the end is worth the read.
I put this one on my list because it was written by a classmate from Texas Wesleyan. She wrote it about 10 years ago as her first, and only book. I bought it on Amazon and brought it to the beach with me. I was pleasantly surprised! It’s a creative little story that kept me going! I did not want to put it down!
Ho hum. Not sure what I was expecting with this one but for an "escape" type book it sure took a long time to get to the action--too long of a set-up on this one and a fairly ridiculous ending. I do appreciate some believability for chick lit and this had almost nil. Still, it kept me slightly interested enough to finish it in my moments of insomnia.
As far as chick lit goes, this is pretty bad. The writing is juvenile and the main character's voice is lacking. I felt as if it was a twelve year old speaking through a 26 year old's body.
