Rate this book
The Blue Ridge Resistance is the third book in The New Homefront series and picks up where The Guardians left off. The main characters have struggled to survive in a nation that underwent what appeared to be an orchestrated collapse, with several elements joining together to bring America to its knees. With the country and its infrastructure still in disarray, and with power struggles and conflict within all levels of government delaying a recovery, people must fend for themselves in order to survive. As the residents of the Homefront and their homesteading community find themselves running low on supplies, they must venture outside of their East Tennessee mountain hideaway in search of what they need, while the outside world begins to jeopardize the stability and security they have worked so hard to achieve. Join with them as they continue to fight the evil and tyranny in their new world, while they strive to maintain their own dignity and humanity. If you like action-adventure, prepper, SHTF, TEOTWAWKI, patriotic, survival fiction, you should checkout this series.

Evan and Jason take several other homesteaders with them on a search for supplies out of the local area. That is when they discover the Blue Ridge Militia, a part of a larger effort in the southern states fighting against DHS and a government set out to destroy them. Meanwhile, back at the homesteads the fight continues to keep what they have worked so hard to attain.

Bird’s third novel in The New Homefront series, The Blue Ridge Resistance, is an action-packed story of resistance against an oppressive government. Minor characters from previous stories are brought to the forefront.

This story gets better and better with each new installment.

5 out of 5 stars.

The Emotions Are Real

I just cannot get enough of this story! The characters seem so true and well developed. The story starts off strong and gains speed in the rising action, and never seems to slow down. The author's professional voice can be heard all the way through clearly describing details of movement, providing a stellar use of emotions that brought tears to my eyes, but always prevailing to bring just the right amount of comic relief to ease through the tension. I have been recommending this series to all of my family and friends, prepper and homesteaders, political activist, and regular red-blooded Americans alike.

Some questions

Why wouldn’t farmers have dogs? You can’t buy a better early warning system. Shepherd dogs of many breeds would handle the coyote problem as well as people lurking in the woods to spy on the homes. Just wondering but maybe it would be harder to write if people weren’t constantly taken by surprise. Still a fascinating series. I can certainly identify who is president when these books were written. I agree with the author on that.

Love the continued character development. We get better acquainted with some characters, meet some new, and lose a couple. Hopefully the next book will find a couple of those people again.

Very good!

Very intelligent story, with an Author that doesn't have any respect for a Socialist world. Amen to that. Look forward to reading more of his stories.

Unbelievable follow-up to volume 2

Volume 3 lives up to my expectations with a rousing ending that led me to immediately purchase volume 4.
Life on the new home front continues to be a laborious task as the new members find their roles in the community. Deciding it was time to make contact with survivors beyond their bounds, Jason, Evan, Nate, Charlie, Jimmy and Ed set out on a journey west in search of supplies. They bring items with them to use for bartering. Finding life outside their little community much harder and more violent than what they are experiencing at home they quickly run afoul of the scum of the earth. What will be the outcome of this venture and will their undertaking prove profitable or deadly.
If you are a fan of this series brace yourself for some unexpected turn of events. If you haven't read this series and you are into and enjoy preparedness, do yourself a favor by reading these books. You never know what you will learn along the way.
As always, happy reading, and get busy.

The quasi-militia group the homestead families assembled are known as the Guardians (book two). The Guardians continue to protect their own, expanding and fortifying their community as they deal with the day-to-day realities of the collapse. Time to start sending out scouting teams on scavenging and supply runs to supplement their stores. Our boys run into more marauders and save a few more survivors. NATO troops ironically called "peacekeepers" appear at the request of the government administration whose task is to put down any opposition. Lots of action, great characters. A tale of life, love, duty and loss. I'm looking forward to book four "The Resolution".

Awesome...

As a woman reading these books has been great...other than the lack of any strong female characters,I can find no fault with this series. I look forward to reading the next book in the series. Keep up the good work !!!! P.S. add some strong good women to the series.
