I've never been more happy to be confused in my entire life!
The Protector Project is such a complex and extraordinary world and although I found it hard to keep up at times it was such a great read that I didn't mind it that much.

Honestly I didn't expect that I'd love this book as much as I did. It started out a bit slow for me and if it weren't for Dalin showing up when he did I probably would have DNF-ed this.

The Protector Project has a very unique concept. Not only is it intriguing it also ha

I am so happy that the sequel is coming out soon! I was having a good time, liking Mara and how capable and honest she is, but when I first met the tree character, I started reading to see if she would become a central player. This is great for engaging bright readers. There are character dilemmas that challenge the reader to think deeply, but there are no inappropriate adult situations. It is often difficult to find novels that reach gifted students intellectually without involving topics for more mature readers. In fact, the crush situation is handled in a manner that is exciting for kids and simply tender for teachers.

Sometimes I read a young adult book, and I think it's okay, but some of my students will like it. This book, however, was hard for me to put down. It will intrigue not only teenagers, but adults will like it also. I will spend time still thinking about the main characters, Mara and Dalin, in the next few weeks, and I'm excited for the sequel to come out. This is a book that I will definitely encourage my students to read. Who doesn't love a strong female character, mixed in with adventure and ro ...more
