Cereus Braxton has been moving from places to places with Ryan for a few years. Even with his guidance, she was still struggling to accept her true self. When he showed her another side if himself that he kept hidden, it could turn into something that will finally push her to her full potential.

If you’re familiar with this author’s stories you know what to expect starting this book – something dark, twisted, disturbing and in this case bloody. So it goes without saying “Deadly” by Ker Dukey is not for everyone. This short installment fallows the characters from the previous book - Cereus a

Cereus has become coolly, briskly confident and toys with the vulnerability of others. Evil and darkness are all around her.

Emotional abnormality. “Shallow” feelings. Fleeting emotions. Full force rage and envy. No remorse, no guilt. Her sociopathic behavior is the recipe for endless cruelty and depravit

Ok, Ryan, how I love you. My love for this series was proportional to how awesome Ryan was in the book. So, like a 10 for Empathy, an 8 for Desolate (because he disappointed me in that book), then it shot back up to an 11 for Vacant, and oh how I loved him in this, a 15 on a 10-point scale obvi. And right along with my love with Ryan, goes my love for him with Cereus. They are goals, like, OTP right there. I wanted it s

This bird is so fucked up in the head....and I fucking LOVE IT!!!

I read my first ever DARK READ a few years back and I just knew this fucked up shit was my cup of tea so I read more, until one of my book friends mentioned a name that I had never heard before.

Ker Dukey.

I mean that could be anyone one, right?!

To me she was just a name. That's it.

So I thought, fuck it let's one click this motherfucker.

In Deadly, the story opens with Cereus and Ryan traveling throughout the world forging their own path together in darkness. Their allegiance to each other is based upon a bond making them soul mates on a deep level. Knowing what dark and impure urges percolate within Cereus, Ryan is dedicated to teaching her how to own her sinister side. Of course, Ryan is the consummate psychopath tutor to Cereus’ sociopathic tendencies.

Maybe I’m still not, maybe what I feel for Cereus is only a fraction of what others feel when it comes to love but it was powerful, and overruling everything I wanted for us.”

The Empathy series by Ker Dukey is definitely not for the faint of heart, yet it will bring out all the dark feels, and have you thinking to yourself, “What the hell is wrong with me and why do I like it?” She’s a master of mind-blowing stories, and always has me dumbfounded at the end.

This is a continuation of Ryan and Cereus’s story, it’s 3 yrs down the road, and the chaos and blood hasn’t slowed down. Ryan is teaching Cereus to embrace her inner darkness, but there have been s

I feel like reading a Ker Dukey book is a guilty pleasure. You know, like I'm kinda ashamed that I enjoy them so much. Like, maybe I'm disturbed, a little cray cray. Like, maybe nobody will ever know that about me unless I admit that I enjoy reading her books. But once they know...I'l be'll be too late to deny it. Oh well, here goes. My name is Rosa, this is a #MindFuckAlert, and I'm an addict. I know that when I read this stuff, it gets in my head and I can't

As usual Ker pulls you into her dark, depraved mindfucks. No words can be written, with out spoiling it, I'm kinda speechless anyways. I devoured it. I could not read this fast enough.
If you haven't already JUST GO READ THIS SERIES.

Ryan and Cereus are back, traveling the world on a adrenaline based killing spree. A macabre Bonnie & Clyde.. wreaking havoc and relishing in the torment of others. But as Cereus begins to get out of control, Ryan must figure out how to bring her back- but not enough to wipe out the darkness they

This series couldn't have ended any better. Ryan holds top spot for dark heroes in my twisted little heart. I can't let go of Ryan.

Ker Dukey once again has stepped up the intensity and craziness in DEADLY. If I thought the previous books were deadly haunting then you have to meet Cereus and her twisted love of Ryan. Deadly picks off right where it last left off in Vacant so readers are given the present and past of what happened to Cereus and Ryan as they were last seen off riding off together. Jealousy, Lies, Murders, Guilt, and Blood soon begins to follow them in a big way as darkness begins to takeover Cereu

So Jen and I both started this Empathy Series a few weeks apart. I basically told her she needs to drop everything and START..THIS..BOOK! She did and the rest was history for us. We went through this crazy and scary ride and was fearful how it would end. Would the “core four” (Blake, Melody, Ryan and Cereus) still be intact..could Ryan and Cereus live a HEA in weird uncle/niece killer universe sort of way? So, so many scenarios flitted through our head of what could happen. Then we got the arc a ...more
I absolutely love this series. The characters are some of the best I have read. But Ryan and his psychotic mind is who kept me coming back for more. The things that he says or that go through his mind make me giggle sometimes. I probably shouldn't have put that out there being he is a demented killer and all but eh, it's the truth. He has become my favorite psychopath thus far.

When Cereus (Ryan's young niece) teams up with him, I couldn't contain my delight. He takes her under his wing when she
Still unfortunately by the end, still not feeling Cereus, don't hate her as much but still don't like her. This is a unique and unforgettable series over all 4.5 stars

Very happy that Blake/Mel seem to be back to the couple I loved in the first book even thought there wasn't much of them.

Still love PSYCHOPATHRyan!

I will never stop wanting more Ryan & Cereus! It's fucked, twisted, sick & wrong... But I love every second of it!

Ker made me question my morals & sanity about a million times while reading, but that's why I love this woman! Her story telling is unlike any author I've read and her writing is always on point. Not just on point, her writing is brilliantly beautiful!

This book . . . not the ending I expected to the series, and if I'm honest, it was a bit of a let down.

While the readers know what kind of person Cererus now is, the things she does in this book never felt right for me. It wasn't 'her'. She's delved a little too far into the darkness and for some reason, it never felt in character.

Ryan redeems himself a little in this book, much as he did in Deadly, but not overly. It starts to border upon 'weird' and incestuous which is something I don't enjoy

This was dark!!! Dark and deadly!! I always forget just how messed up Ryan is!!! It turns out Cereus is just as messed up as he is! Wow!!! If you like a little dark and crazy with a side of insanity then this book/series is for you. Really you should check out all Ker's stuff it is ALL good!!!
I'm a little disappointed with the ending. I wasn't asking for Ryan and Cereus to run off into the sunset together but I feel ... unsatisfied. Though it makes sense how everything ended, I'd hope they could live and be who they are in freedom.

What a ride!

The title fits this book to the T. It was deadly, full of twists and turns and so much more. This book was gritty, bloody, and full of darkness. Two souls who were born not like the rest of us. They lack emotions and there minds just vacant. They are known as psychopaths and sociopaths.

Expect it all With this one, it's a ride that's for sure. It's full of no remorse, murder, violence, grittiness, gore, bloodshed and so much more.

What a perfect ending to this series! Cereus and Ryan....I don't know which one I loved more. She was his compliment. He was her salvation. From the very first time these two met, I knew that one could not exist without the other. They are truly two halves of a whole. In many ways, I believe that Ryan kept Cereus grounded. He let her be free without losing herself to her demons. It's odd to say that Ryan may be the more "normal" out of the pair. How strange does THAT sound????

It's so hard to say goodbye to characters that you've come to love...
Ryan absolutely rocked my world, but Cereus demolished it.
The conclusion to the Empathy series ties everything up, while keeping true to each of the characters.
Cereus and Ryan are a dynamic, psychopathic duo who feed off of each other.
Being inside Cereus's mind is confusing and exhausting and just crazy.
All good things must come to an end...
