With two other careers to her credit before becoming a novelist and four states in which she's lived for extended periods of time, Sherryl Woods has collected friends and memories, along with way too much unnecessary junk.

"The friends are the only things I've brought with me through the years that really matter," she says. "I could probably live without one more chintz teacup, another tin-litho sandpail or another snowglobe, but I need those friends."

The theme of enduring friendships and families is always central to Sherryl's books, including her latest Chesapeake Shores series — THE INN AT EAGLE POINT, FLOWERS ON MAIN and HARBOR LIGHTS.

Author of more than 100 romance and mystery novels, Sherryl Woods grew up in Virginia. Over the years she had lived in Ohio and Florida, as well as California. Currently she divides her time between Key Biscayne, Florida and Colonial Beach, Virginia, the small, river-front town where she spent her childhood summers.

A graduate of Ohio State University School of Journalism, Sherryl spent more than ten years as a journalist, most of them as a television critic for newspapers in Ohio and Florida. For several years she also coordinated a motivational program for the more than 8,000 employees at the University of Miami-Jackson Memorial Medical Center.

Her first book, RESTORING LOVE, was published in 1982 by Dell Candlelight Ecstasy under the pseudonym of Suzanne Sherrill. Her second book, SAND CASTLES, under the pseudonym of Alexandra Kirk, was published later that same year by Bantam. She began using her own name when she moved to the Second Chance at Love line at Berkley Publishing. In 1986, she began writing full-time and also began her long career at Silhouette Books with the Desire title NOT AT EIGHT, DARLING, set in the world of television which she covered for so many years.

In addition to her more than 75 romances for Silhouette Desire and Special Edition, she has written thirteen mysteries — nine in the Amanda Roberts series and four in the Molly DeWitt series.

When she's not writing or reading, Sherryl loves to garden, though she's not at her best on a riding lawn mower. She also loves tennis, theater, and ballet, even though her top spin has long since vanished, she's never set foot on a stage, and she's way too uncoordinated to dance. She also loves baseball and claims anyone who's ever seen Kevin Costner in "Bull Durham" can understand why.

Single, mother-to-be Trish Delacourt finds herself stranded on the side of a snowy road when she suddenly goes into labor and flagged down the nearest passing motorist. The Good Samaritan turns out to be sexy as sin, confirmed bachelor, rancher Hardy Jones. He knows nothing about birthing babies but will learn real quick.

Hardy could never resist a beautiful woman, so when the beautiful woman needed help he helped her deliver her beautiful baby girl. Now Hardy finds his no-strings-attached policy thrown out the window when he is drawn to Trish and her adorable baby girl. Has the confirmed bachelor found his forever family? One more in the win bracket for Harlan Adams!!

I found this in the free bin at a book reseller and I figured out why. It's extremely outdated. Also, there was just no connection bw Hardy & Trish. Just because he's single & she's single (although just had a baby) doesn't mean they have anything in common or should be together. They spend no time together before everyone in town thinks they should be together and starts pushing. And when Trish's dad finally shows up, it's extemely anti-climatic and ridiculous. There is no way on earth this rich snob would not lose his mind over his daughter being with a ranch hand she just met a few months earlier. Blah.

Hardy is a womanizer. He has his pick of women. Trish is running as far as she can from her dad. When the two meet he helps her out! They start spending time together, usually thrown together by the friendly matchmakers.

I laughed several times in this book.

Trish is afraid to trust a man. Hardy doesn't want to give up his ways.

This was a great read. I loved hoe sweet it was.

Excellent!

I loved the story of Trish and Hardy in spite of the fact that it's opening so closely mimicked Luke and Jessie's (in A Christmas Blessing). The rest of the story is brand new and perfectly written!

It's a cute read if you're just looking for a fluff read. There's no real substance to the plot. She's single, he's single, bam! Clearly they're meant for each other. There's almost zero insight into their personal stories.

Love this series. Even though the main characters are not Adams's they feel like part of the family.
Hope to read more about them in future books.

Not What I Expected

I thought this book was a clean romance story. Why did the author put in a very explicit sex scene, in perfectly good clean romance up to that point.

A fun romance. Unfortunately I read book 3 in the series first so had some idea of the ending of this one, but I still loved the characters and enjoyed the whole book.

This was not the book for me. I liked how cute Hardy was with Laura. This story was really short and they go from strangers to in love very fast without anything changing.

(3.5) Woods did a pretty good job, it was paced nicely and just cute all around. Though, a little short, I think the characters could have developed just a bit little more, but all around good read.

Trish Delacourt, a very pregnant, independent-minded women. She escapes her home life from a very overbearing father and family. Not wanting to marry a man--a man who her father picked for her--who cheated on her during their enagement. She flees. Going into labor, herself on the cold-snowy side of the rode, she flags a car.

This is where we meet, a very single Hardy, a ladies man who could never turn down a beautiful women, so when Trish needs his help, he's there to deliver her beautiful, adorbale baby girl--who he, in very little time becomes very attached to, including to the baby's mother. What every happened to his no strings attachted? But so help him god, he can't help falling for them both.

I'd check it out if I were you, I especially loved the moments b/w Hardy and the baby.

Trish is running away from her wealthy father's demands that she marry a man he has picked for her. The fact that the groom-to-be is sleeping with multiple other women is only important to Trish. She's pregnant and running away when her car breaks down in a storm, and she goes into labor. Hardy Jones, ranch hand on White Pines, drives by and helps bring the baby girl into the world. He is a flirt and a good time guy, until he meets Trish. They finally meet in the middle.

Silhouette Special Edition #1291 from 1999

I actually rather liked this one. However, brace yourself with dealing with more matchmakers than you can shake a stick at! lol Loved that our hero was a cowboy and that the heroine opened a bookstore.

Trish and Hardy

This was a good book about a cowboy who delivered a stranger's baby in his truck. He kept visiting to see how the baby was and fell in love with the mother.

Romance. Unleashed

An excellent and enjoyable read. Funny, real, and poignant, probably the best in the entire series. Great characters. Warm and entertaining.
