Absolutely incredible. Godly.
First of all, Griffith is BACK, now in a messiah mode. He now looks even more gorgeous than before which is so UNFAIR, how am I supposed to hate the guy? 😩
FARNESE AND SERPICO’S BACKSTORY!!! I absolutely loved how beautifully tragic it was. I finally got the confirmation that Farnese’s been a mad bitch since day one, but at least now I know the reason behind it. Serpico though.... Best boy. 💔

Berserk is amazing. The story is just incredible, dark, violent, and extremely compelling. (The anime's great too, I have to rewatch it.) We're in what must be the third big arc of the story, and it's definitely up there with the first arc. It's very hard to resist going back to the Alameda Borders to keep reading.

This is the 22nd volume in the Berserk series. In this volume Griffith returns as the Hawk of Light. He has Zodd the Immortal at his side and, while Guts is not quite a match for Zodd, he makes a good showing of it and Griffith leaves. Ends up Griffith has his eye on another kingdom that he is determined to make his own. This part of the story introduces a whole new cast of characters; all of them are very interesting.

Another damn good volume. Guts returns to the cave with Casca for an encounter with the one he seeks and you get the back story of Lady Farnese and Serpico.
Still visually striking in every way.
It is another great volume to the series.
Though still goes between the extremes of silly, violent, brutal, sexual, and grim. That is the appeal though most often in just how far it will go to tell it's story.

The development of Serpico is welcome at the second half of this volume, and the mercilessness of the Kushans make a good foil for the Band of the Hawk to look welcoming. This said, the return of Griffith and the darker band of the hawk is a mixed blessing and the relationship to the Godhand seems hard to disentangle.

Miura really managed to pack a lot into this volume. We opened a new arc with Griffith’s return. My heart sank when he told Guts he just didn’t care about him. This remains one of the most crushing moments in the manga so far. The relationship between the two has always been the heart of this story, and I’m looking forward to reading more of it after reading an arc that was just ok.

Berserk
Vol#22
The start of a new arc;
Gatt Vs. Zodd; a great battle,
Griffith in a human form; aiming to fulfill his dream and take himself a country,
Still do not understand the other knights and the oracle stuff joining him but I think his dark court forming to take over the world and bring down the night on the world;
The back story at the last issue of the volume was good! a bit of filler but good;
Serpico is an interesting character;

The first half of this volume is fantastic. We finally see it, the encounter between Guts and Griffith. Guts behaves as expected. Griffith does not in some ways. It's an intense scene with some startling revelations. Plus then we have Guts and Casca together, and that's adorable. He's such a softy around her, it's almost cute. The second half of the volume brings plot development. Grittith doesn't waste any time in recruiting the biggest and the baddest for his new band of hawks army. We also se

I'm finally starting back up on my berserk journey, it was great to see Guts and Casca back together, also really appreciated the additional plot and world building, obviously have Griffth and Zodd back in physical form is interesting and I'm intrigued to see where this journey is heading. I also really enjoyed seeing Serpico and Lady Farnese's upbringing together. I can't wait to continue :)

Very good volume. Griffith is back and doesnt care about guts at all. Maybe. Zodd and a bunch of other great fighters join griffith. Guts and casca hit the road. We get more background on Farnese, the slower part of the book, despite it being interesting. Dont currently own anymore books, and im sadly catching up faster than i want to. We will see when i pick up more.

Volume 22 is exceptional in every single way. Griffith's return, his talk about getting his country back and him leaving Guts behind in the snow was such an impactful scene as it is a parallel of the Golden Age arc. (oh and Griffith don't try hidding your feelings for Guts with excuses please)

The backstory for Farnese and Serpico is much needed, and gives a refreshing mix of motives into what has been a Guts centric story thus far. Couple this with the strong design of Griffith and implications for the future, and you have one of the finest volumes in Berserk's recent history.

Lady Farnese and Serpico's backstory was really interesting. At least now I know she's always been a bitch instead of it being a learned trait. Cheers.

God damn. I've been waiting for another showdown between Guts and Zodd. Miura, you never disappoint.
