The past that they’d hoped to outrun has chased them down, and now it wants payback. To appease their debtors, they must delve into Rushe’s own history. As they come face to face with the situation that brought them together in the first place, Flick learns more about the man who she’s pledged her heart, and her body, to. When danger encroaches, Flick will resort to whatever measures are necessary to achieve their goal, but could that mean sacrificing their relationship?
Writing has always been a big part of my life. Since I was a child I've known exactly where my passion lay. No matter what's gone on in my life writing has been my touchstone. After all, we all need a place to escape to. Reading is my idea of heaven. There's nothing I like more than to switch everything off, close the bedroom door, and curl up with a good book. I have a feeling that's something all at Goodreads can identify with.
Thanks for taking the time with me today. Now do something for yourself, go and curl up in your own reading heaven.
It has been so much fun revisiting Rushe and Flick. This couple is great together, their chemistry and their growth as a couple was awesome. While like books 1 & 2 there were things that annoyed me but I will keep the rating the same because overall I enjoyed it and was able to ignore them.
Original review 12/14
First let me start by saying I just love Rushe and Flick. I loved the growth in their relationship and I love how Flick grew as a woman with Rushe. I still wanted to strangle her because she is still impulsive and where Rushe is concerned she has no regards for her own safety but as I have said before I just love her. I think this is a great series and look forward to rereading it. It has been a fun adventure with Rushe and Flick.
Genre: - Contemporary Romance Series: - 3rd in the series - need to have read the other 2 first Love triangle? - Cheating? - HEA? - Would I read more by this author/or in this series? - Yes Rating - 5
★Review★
The third and final instalment of Rushe and Flick.
Again, loved it.
I love Rushe as a character, he has stayed true to himself throughout the series, despite having fallen in love.
Plot wise, as with book 2, I did lose my way in the middle a bit, with the suspense aspects, and wished I had had a quick re read of book 1 maybe, since it has been a few months since I read it. But it all tied up neatly in the end.
Flick was annoying me a touch at the beginning - I just felt like shouting at her "let the poor bloke do his job, he knows what he is doing, stop interfering" but by the end, I realised, Rushe is his job, it is his life, and to be involved with Rushe, you need to be involved in his "job".
The action was fast paced and had me guessing, and doubting the outcome time and time again.
But, Flick and Rushe, they are meant to be, and truly accept each other for who they are with no recriminations.
A lot of loose ends are tied up here, people we have come to know and like getting the end to their story, and people we hate or who deserve it getting what they deserve.
I know this is the end of the series for Rush and Flick, but I do hope the author does the odd little update here and there on Rushe and Flick.
This is the 3rd and final installment of the Explicit Series!!! And what an Ending!!!
Hotness Level:
5+++
This book starts immediately after the end of 2nd book. The Mercier family is back to collect their debt their vengeance against Rushe, Flick, Jensen and Serendipity (characters from 1st book). It's cause of these guys that the Human Trafficking racket could never take place.
Antoine and Simmone (yes she is back too) are cousins and are hand in hand to destroy the duo. Simmone has kidnapped Serendipity and Jensen is in hospital. Antoine has got himself acquainted to Flick's rich family and now they are in danger too.
In this book we can see various twist and turn and the biggest is in Rushe. His love for Flick knows no bound and can go to any extent to save her, to respect her, so love her.
Flick has grown so much too she is more matured, thoughtful and more calm. To save Rushe's life she agrees to marry Antoine and live with him.
Why is Jensen in Hospital? What happens? Does she marry Antoine? Does Rushe allow that?
Here we meet Liam, Eric, Twany and Flick's whole duchebag family
"I love you Rushe". "Love you too Flick"
When I think about Rushe my reaction was like:
This book is so awesome at the end my reaction was:
After surviving brutal kidnappings and falling in love with the most unlikely of heroes, in Explicit Instruction, Flick comes into her own and fights for her place by Rushe’s side in Explicit Detail. Now, while struggling to build and hold onto their relationship the enemies that they have made come forward to tear them apart.
This book was an emotional rollercoaster from start to finish. Just when things would start to get comfortable, Scarlett Finn would throw another curveball at our beloved, yet unconventional, couple. But while the tension stayed high throughout the book so did the passion and heat. That is one of the things that I love about this series. While the reader watches Rushe and Flick grow as a couple some things about them never change. Rushe is just as domineering and dirty talking as he was in the first book and Flick still knows how to push his buttons and get what she wants.
In Explicit Memory, Flick must take the lead and do what she can to protect her man. The odds are stacked against them and at every turn Flick is faced with the darkness of Rushe’s past. Will she be able to accept the differences between them and move forward with him by her side, or will she go back to the security of her former life without him?
While this book contains graphic language and imagery, I would highly recommend the Explicit series to fans of the Romantic Suspense genre. It is by far one of my favorite new series. **ARC in exchange for honest review**
God I can't believe it's over. Seeing everything that Rushe and Flick went through was amazing. "Kitten" "Lover" Another special thank you for Maria who convinced me to read this series, I don't think I would have read it if you hadn't convinced me to :) The journey Rushe and Flick spent together was so different. I've never experienced a story like theirs and I love how unique it was and how it made me feel. That love doesn't have to be between a billionaire and a plain girl, or love at first sight. Sometimes it can be the wrong place at the wrong time. I loved how emotionally strong they were together and they never once had doubts about their faith in each other. Now THAT'S the kind of romance I enjoy. I'm going to miss these characters, and the adventures they go on. Damn, I wish there was at least a ring involved.. But I guess it ain't Rushe's thing.
Flick and Rushe have so much passion for each other. The adventures these two get into are so intense. Rushe is an amazing hero who has a hard time showing love but never fails in his devotion to Flick. Great series!
It is no surprise to me that I loved this book. Rushe has become one of my favorite Alphas ever. He is so hot, so complex and just so damn MALE. lol
All the reviews for this series always gush on Rushe or the sex and while I totally agree(pant, pant, pant!) I dont think Scarlett gets nearly enough credit for her creation of Flick.
I LOVE Flick!
I think her ability to see through Rushe's defenses(no matter how heart-wrenching that can be) is nothing short of amazing. In life, so many people are torn apart by insecurities, misunderstandings, the lack of ability to see when someone else is putting up walls, not necessarily of their own free will, but because of instinct. Flick 'gets' Rushe, down to the bone.
Even more than he gets her.
It's a beautiful thing and one of the most wonderful points of this wonderful series.
I will say I felt like the plot in this installment was a little wildly back and forth. In some ways that almost adds to the realism, but in others it was a bit disconnected and had a hasty feeling. So for that I took off a star.
I loved Rushe and Flick's wild ride and I didn't want to say good-bye. Thank god for the many happy re-reads in my future!
I was given this book from the author for an honest review.
Scarlett has done it again! Loved, Loved the book!
We meet Flick and Rushe in Explicit Instructions . That's where their adventure begins and Flick falls for Rushe.
Explicit Detail , Rushe and Flick are back at it again, but this time Flick is trying to help Rushe with the job. Rushe is having none of that, until they come to a compromise.
Man oh man, in Explicit Memory , the danger is back for Rushe and Flick. The villains from Explicit Instructions are back and they want nothing but revenge. This book was like a roller coaster, going up and down, loop-de-loops and more. Rushe is still your dirty-mouth talker, domineering, alpha-male and protector. Not much has really changed except Flick will do anything to save her man. I think Flick in this book takes a bigger role in my opinion. She will do anything to save Rushe, even if that means breaking his heart or putting herself in danger and working with the villains.
Overall, it was a great book, with a great ending! With the explicit dirty talk, humor and adventure loved!
The is the third book in the Explicit trilogy. It's the continuation of Rushe and Flick's story.
They have been through a lot together and while Flick is certain she can never go back to her family and their privileged, superficial life, Rushe is not so sure. He does love her but still struggles with the reality that she loves him. This installment starts with Flick back at her parents house with Rushe. Her family is not very cordial to Rushe and they still hold out hope that she will return home for good and settle down with someone suitable.
There's still a lot of loose ends from the last book so we see Simone and her cousin Antoine show up again. Antoine has managed to worm his way into the Hughes's household and blackmails Flick into an arrangement that might keep everyone alive but will make her miserable for the rest of her days. Do you think Rushe will let that happen?
We learn a bit more about Rushe's past and that there are a couple more people who care for him than he thought. The ending also leaves an opening for stories about other characters like Liam or Eric.
Overall this was a satisfying ending to the series. Well done Ms. Finn.
There's even more tension and less sex than in book 2, but the growth of this couple is compelling, and the complexity of the plot held my attention.
This is a strong series, with scary and brutal scenes, family drama, and high-tension angst that isn't drawn out. If you like your men big and brooding, and your women courageous and willful, then this series is for you.
If you have triggers for kidnapping or guns, you might pass on this.
Wow, what a Great book! These characters have grow so much over the series , Flick has gone from a victim, in Explicit Instruction, to a strong women willing to o whatever it takes to protect theman she loves. Rush has gone from tough , rough dirty mouthed unfeeling thug to well he still, all of that but not so unfeeling, the man loves Flick , and has finally reached the point that he can share that emotion openly, don't misenterpit he is not writing sonnets. But he also is not afraid to tell her , that he loves her!
This book was a roller coaster , the dangers and some of the bad guys were back from the first book along with some of the good guys and to add to the angst , Flick's self centered family ! What happens here, showcases Flick's growth wonderfully and her determination to be part of Rush's life and make it known that he is part of hers.
Flick,in her determination to keep Rush safe finds herself in a position that forces her to put her family in danger and possibly break Rush's heart and trust in her, but she wil, do anything to protect the very man who died for her and then came back .
Rushe and Flick have been through everything. Kidnapping, wild rides, beatings and falling in love. Flick has finally found herself in a good place and is now working on her relationship with Rushe.
The funny thing about their world, is that everything can come crashing down in the blink of an eye. Enemies from the past have come back, and this time is not only themselves that they have to save, but other people they care about.
Flick is finally able to put into action everything she has been saying to Rushe and show him she will do everything for him and to keep him safe. This book is a roller coaster of emotions, but the one you can count on the most is that unbelievable sexual energy and tension between them. Rushe is the same dirty talker we have loved from the previous two books, and we also see Flick finally understanding the depth of the feelings Rushe has for her.
I couldn't have asked for a better finale for this couple.
**ARC provided in exchange for an hones review - Jacquie / Scandalous Book Blog*** What a Rushe!, loved and hated him in equal amounts in the last and final book in the series. Again Flick and Rushe are in trouble this time from the main players in book 1. To save the man she loves Flick has to leave him, how will they both cope? Can she reconcile with her parents? All the lose ends are tied up and we get a better insight into the things that drive Rushe. Absolutely loved this series and I'm so sorry to say goodbye to these two in fact dare I suggest that there may be at least one more book in there for them all.
Rushe will never be the hearts and flowers type of man, however in this book he did show some vulnerability when it came to Flick. There is no doubt that he loves her and would do anything for her. As frustrating as Rushe can be, I found his character to be truly endearing. Flick continues to prove herself to be a strong and intelligent women. Lots of hot, steamy moments and of course excitement. Great ending to this trilogy!!
Wow, what a ride of a story !! Loved all 3 books , not a traditional love story but boy does it work ! Hope the story continues ,as I love reading about these 2 !
WOW JUST WOW I AM IN LOVE WITH THIS BOOK Literally FIVE STARS ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
this was the third and final book. In the series I absolutely loved it. There were times that I was shaking. My heart was racing. I literally cried, and I do not cry at Books. This book was an emotional roller coaster from the moment I started it, and I really loved it. I am going to be purchasing this book 100% and the entire series. This book takes place right after the events in book one, and two, but there was no wasted chapters. Everything mattered and everything tied together.
“Kitten! Goddamnit you are mine!” “I take care of what’s mine”
I LOVEDDDDDDD that we saw a softer side of Rushe in this book. Finn gave way to see the raw emotion under the brick facade that faces the world. Flick truly is his undoing and I loved that trope after all they had been through it literally warmed me and melted me. WHERE ARE THESE MEN IN REAL LIFE. PLEASE. So basically, it revisit the human trafficking gang Simone is this book as well as her evil cousin who’s just as manipulative and awful as Victor if not more Without spoiling too much, I love the new friends Rushe and flick made and the connections they kept. I love that they brought the OG getting back into this novel with Liam and Eric. I feel like I wish I read these consecutively cuz it probably would’ve hit soooo much different and even better but BUT it was still phenomenal.
If there is anything I would change, I do wish the author let us know what his first name was we found out Jansens first name and it would’ve been hot to associate an alpha name to Rushe besides just Rushe lol This book is an emotional roller coaster and I cannot WAIT to add this dark and HOT romance to my shelf. The spice level was OOOOOOOFFFF SPICEY. Definitely read the trigger warnings for the first two books especially but i loved it and will FOR SURE be rereading.
“I worry about you every minute of the goddamn day. It ripped me apart to watch you walk outta here today, and yesterday when I thought… But I can’t protect you. I can’t do it. I’ve failed every single fucking time.”
Excerpt From Explicit Memory Scarlett Finn
I love this side of Rushe! He’s so sweet and protective and still has such a dirty mouth 🥵 My favorite scene is when Flick and her family are being held captive and Rushe has already taken out all guards
“Just then, Rushe appeared in the doorway, his gun outstretched. With three quick shots, he took out three more guards. Ducking back behind the wall, he held his gun around the doorframe, aiming at Antoine. “You’re next,” Rushe said.”
Excerpt From Explicit Memory Scarlett Finn
That shit was so hot! I loved his character development and I loved how confident Flick was in this book. She’s also smart and not scared to mouth off and cut a man… literally!
This was a trilogy that I started out not liking but by the end of it I loved each minute of it!
After everything Rushe and Flick have been through, kidnapping, human trafficking, rape, murder, etc., can they really have a happy ever after ending? Well, this is the final book in the Explicit series, so if it's going to happen, it's going to happen in this book.
However, we've got a lot of trail to cover before we can even think about a happy ever after. Some authors are great at writing sexy love scenes, and Scarlett can definitely do that, but what some authors struggle with is creating a strong storyline to go with those love scenes. Scarlett seems to be able to do that with ease.
It should go without saying that you have to read the first two books in this series first, Explicit Instruction and Explicit Detail. I promise you won't regret it. This is one of the better erotic series I've ever read.
This final book ties up a lot of loose ends, loose ends in Rushe's past, but also loose ends in Flick's past. I honestly don't see how the series could have had a better final send off than Explicit Memory.
Rushe will always be the domineering dirty talking bad boy, and Flick will always love him for it. But they move beyond those stereotypes in this book. Both characters are fleshed out, and grow much more than most characters ever do in erotic romance books.
Give this series a try. I promise you will fall in love with Rushe and Flick the same way I have. You can thank me later.
Explicit Memory was a nice end to the series. As promised, the story goes back to the beginning and ties up loose ends from the events of book 1. Rushe also comes to terms with the fact that his relationship with Flick is permanent and deals with some insecurities around her wanting to be with "someone like him" long term - which was kind of sweet.
The first half of the story moved a bit slowly. Flick shows Rushe that he can have friends and form attachments by pulling Liam and Eric in to help them with their investigation. I didn't really "get" Liam's involvement because it never struck me that Flick was particularly nice to him; so I could not fathom why he would drop everything and put his life in danger to come running to help her - or why he would even consider her a friend for that matter. I ended up really liking Theo Silver - I think he should get his own book - he could be quite a character.
The story picked up towards the 60% mark, things came together and I didn't want to stop reading because I wanted to know what was going to happen. Unlike Book 2 of the series, Explicit Memory actually had more plot than sex - which was nice.
What I loved most about this whole series is the fact that Rushes character never changed - he is still the same gruff, dirty, rude and possessive man we meet at the beginning of the trilogy. Flick is also a heroine to be loved, her trust in Rushe in so refreshing to see and at no point in the novel do we witness the so call break up due to the common miscommunication, which any avid reader of the romance genre knows is a go to plot line for Authors for creating stupid drama .
Rushes dirty mouth causes the sex scenes to be as panty melting as ever - so I have absolutely no complaints on that part of the book ;)
Overall it was 4.5 star read, the lost of the .5 star is because I found the action in the book to be a little on the quite side, If that makes any sense :/. Also the ending was a bit abrupt, I found that there was still a lot of loose ends but bare these reason it is a trilogy worth reason.
The final installment in Rushe and Flicks story! A must read series and this book is no different, This one is safe with an HEA. This book was a quick read for me but it was super steamy! LOVE this series and this author!
THIS WAS AMAZING!! I LOVE FLICK AND I LOVE RUSHE AND THEYRE SUCH AN AWESOME COUPLE!! It was so stressful at times, I really couldn't predict what would happen. And they just had such an amazing relationship. Their trust and sweetness and communication. I love them!!
A lot of developments I wasn't expecting which kept me interested. But since this was the last one, he wasn't as degrading as he was before and that was my favorite for them.
Its one of these books that gets stuck with you, for a while. A long while. This wasn't a normal story, it was Flick and Rushe's journey. A long, tiring, but still beautiful.
Flick. I love this woman. She still surprises and amazes me!!! She doesn't seem real. This woman owned Rushe. She totally belonged to and with him. She has so much power and faith inside her. Here's to every badass/strong woman out there. We all have a little bit of "Flick" inside of us.
"Flick couldn’t let herself slip out of his soul. She belonged to him, and he belonged to her. He gave her an identity; he’d changed who she was. This was what she wanted. This was what her life was meant to be, and giving it up had never occurred to her. If she had to walk away from him, she would have no purpose and no identity."~
Can Rushe become any more stubborn? This man just makes me sigh, like a million time while reading. He needed someone to fight for him, he was lucky to have Flick even if he fights against them sometimes, typical Rushe *sigh*. I loved, loved and loved how he expressed his feelings more in this book and how he opened up to having friends and letting people in.
"But sometimes I just need to hear your voice. You ground me, Rushe. When I lose my way, if I’m scared or unsure, the only thing that can console me is you."~
I already miss Rushe and Flick. I will always want more when it comes to them. I am in love with Rushe, Flick, their squad and Scarlett Finn!!!!
