I wanted to like this, I really did. The idea sounded interesting and it hinted at comedy and a steamy romance. However, even though this is only a novella, it's taken me a few days to get through.

A Change of Plans started off well. I liked that it began with Sara picking up and leaving everything behind to head to Vegas to be daring. It was a bold move and I wanted to know how things would play out. Similarly, when Ethan got involved things started to become even more interes

Let me start this review by saying that I’ve been having issues with movie trailers. See, this has been happening a lot to me lately, where I watch a trailer, I think it looks really promising so I watch the movie. But then the movie turns out to be a dud.

Well, let’s just say this blurb looked interesting to me, I thought it had potential… and I was right, the plot line had potential, but…. you know when you’re making cookies from a new recipe you haven’t tried yet and when you get all the ingre

This was a very… hectic read. The story was all over the place, the characters weren’t very consistent… I didn’t enjoy this book very much, unfortunately. I really wanted to, since the blurb was intriguing, but everything about this book just didn’t work out for me.

Sara is the kind of woman who has been waiting and planning for her wedding day since she was a little girl. But to her devastation, she’s dumped by her fiancé, and she goes to Vegas to pawn off

Review: This book is a really hard one to review. On one hand it had relatively interesting characters and a good set up but on the other hand there was like this giant disconnect and I felt like I was missing half the picture.

Where was the ~connection~ that made Sara willing to hang around with a strange man? What was that game they were playing whilst the were drunk and how

My Thoughts:

What happens when you're suddenly dumped right before your wedding? Well, run off to Vegas to get away from all the people who feel sorry for her to pawn her wedding ring and have some fun. Sara isn't expecting to run into someone like Ethan at the pawn shop, but it's lucky that she does since she saves her from possibly losing money on the $70,000 ring. (Side note: HOLY CRAP HOW MUCH???) The two of them stick together

A Change of Plans was a good read.

The story line was entertaining I just failed to connect with the characters and towards the end it felt a little rushed and left me wanting more.

Thank you to Entangled Lovestruck via Netgalley for the advance copy.

I'm torn on this one. The first half? Super fun and sexy. Second half? Rushed.

I often have this problem with novellas. So many of them are really larger stories, and having them jammed into so few pages doesn't really work. (There are a few notable exceptions, like The Story Guy or Her Best Laid Plans, but they're exceptions.) What's particularly frustrating about this one, though, is that Robyn Thomas did such a great job building the story at the start. We get a good foundation of the characte

Have to say, I couldn’t completely connect with these characters. And also, maybe because it was a novella, I felt some things were rather rushed, mostly by the end.

We have Sara and Ethan, two people who just happened to meet in Las Vegas. They spent their time not only in bed together, but also touring the city. This subject annoyed me a bit, tbh, mostly because Sara was constantly running away from Ethan and it felt like every time they got to a place, they left two seconds later bec

I liked the premise of this story. Ethan was very mysterious and I wish we could have gotten to know him more as well as his the outcome of his big case. He was very secretive, very demanding (in a good way), very cool. Sara was an interesting character. She appeared fragile but would also unleash her strength and independence when crossed. She kept Ethan on his toes and kept surprising him. I loved that about their dynamic. I would have loved to have more of their story.

Not having read any of Robyn Thomas's works before, I was impressed with how she executed the story line and the characters' back stories. I found myself feeling for Sara Greaves as she struggled to regain trust in other people while trying to move forward with her life. When the story starts we meet a very nervous/confused Sara Greaves. After planning the perfect wedding, Sara gets dumped by her fiance at the last minute and with the ch

This is a trope that I love: Married by accident. I really wish I had liked this rendition more. I kept thinking that I'd missed a few lines, like my Kindle was skipping pages or something. It read like an editor went through and said: Sorry! Too many words! Let's just delete about a third of the book.

Sara Greaves went to Vegas on a whim. The wedding she has planned forever has been cancelled. Her fiance did not want her. She meets Ethan Monroe in a pawn shop. She needs money and is thinking she should pawn her engagement ring for the money she needs.

Ethan shows her a whole other side to the fun in Las Vegas. He sees her need for companionship, friendship, and even protection. He also cannot help but be attracted to her right off. She is sweet and yet so very hot.

Sara needs some "me" time. Sh

I felt much like every other reviewer that I read, *after* the fact (of course): that the book was all over the place, very disjointed and hard to follow. There was a disconnect between the reader and the characters, as if there was a wall with only holes here and there to allow us mere glimpses of the people we are supposed to want to connect with in the book.

The blurb looked really good, but the story wasn't executed in a way that made me feel like I even really was involved in something. It w

This was a fun read but I really would have enjoyed a little more to the story. Sara has planned her perfect wedding. The one she's been dreaming of since she was little. When her fiancee dumps her and promises to deal with everything himself, she takes the opportunity to run to Vegas. There she meets Ethan Monroe who tries to convince her she could have her pick of men if she tried. After a night of drinking they wake up together, wedding rings on their fingers, and a wild ride ahead of them. A ...more

I was really having trouble connecting with these characters. I didn't find much chemistry between them and sadly, their meeting at a pawn shop didn't feel like a meet-cute to me, more like a guy trying to scam a girl. No rating as I don't like to rate books that I don't finish. As this is my first experience with this author, I'm willing to take another chance on her in the future.

Note: a copy of this story was provided by the publisher via NetGalley for review.

From the moment Ethan meets Sara he appoints himself her protector. There is just something so sweet about that to me. Sara is in a strange city trying to escape the heartache and pain she left behind and encounters her own personal bodyguard. That chance meeting sends these complete strangers on a collision course to love. Although the story is unrealistic and ended too soon. I enjoyed the journey. A Change of Plans is a fun escape that I didn't want to end.

This was an awesome novella of love and Vegas. While I loved the story I did find the ending a bit abrupt. I thought it was a wonderful love story of broken and harden hearts finding their way to each other in an unconventional way.

I like the way this story is developing, the relationship is complicated but I think they are both realizing their feelings, I like this book.

This is my first time reading any of Robyn's books and can't wait to read more.

I loved this book from start to finish.

I love the characters and the story.
2.5 stars.

I've read a couple of romances with this plot, and enjoyed most of them. Unfortunately, this one didn't really work for me.

With the "accidently married a stranger in Vegas" storyline, you need to be willing to suspend disbelief for the duration, given that you actually need to get a marriage license and turn up sober to do it (from what I've read elsewhere, not from personal experience). So I was definitely on board for the "oops, we got drunk and ended up married" part of this story

I usually love a vegas story but this one was confusing.
I had to reread the last few pages to understand the ending as I felt it was all over the place.
Not my type of writing style. I like to read a story as if I am the character, I felt like I was reading about the characters, so the connection was missing. I'm sorry my review wasn't all positive. I really wanted to enjoy it, it just wasn't for me.

She planned for everything...except him.
Sara Greaves has been planning her perfect wedding since she was five. Twenty years. Wasted. When she's dumped by her fiancé, she heads to Vegas to forget and ends up at a hotel hosting a Romance Readers conference. Cuz she's lucky like that. A Change of Plans is a accidental marriage trope book. Sara, who is left by her fiance just days before their wedding heads to Vegas to get away from her 'everyone knows everyone's business' town. While there she meets Mr. Tall, Dark, and Handsome. Of course it's Vegas, so why not take a chance? The next morning Sara wakes up with a ring on her finger and a husband who isn't the man she's been engaged to for years and for the extra boot in the pants: he's anti-marriage.

I received a copy of this story through NetGalley from Entangled Publishing for an honest review. This was a very short read (120 pages - a little over an hour). The beginning felt a little confusing to me. I think it was the idea of Ethan meeting Sara outside a Las Vegas pawn shop as she was trying to pawn a $70K ring. I couldn't stop thinking he could be scamming her or trying taking advantage of her during a vulnerable time. Obviously, he's the hero and this is a "we woke up the next morning ...more

Sara runs to Vegas after being dumped a few days before the dream wedding she has been planning. There she meets Ethan, a divorce attorney who doesn't want anything to do with love...his career has taught him it isn't worth it. But Sara makes him want things he never thought he would and when he wakes up hungover and married, he knows he doesn't want what happened in Vegas to stay there.

Sara and Ethan meet under unusual circumstances. She's in Las Vegas to escape her broken engagement. Ethan sees her at a pawn shop and is intrigued by her circumstances and her fragile beauty. Ethan is interested and wants to help her. A night of Vegas night life and they wake up married. Where do they go from here? Sara is an interesting character. A Change of Plans for me, is a really short read. Sara's been planning her dream wedding forever. Her dream guy just dumped her, and while she waits to get whatever money back that she can, she goes to Vegas to pawn the expensive ring he gave her and have a little fun. It's while heading to the pawn shop that she meets cynic Ethan. As a divorce lawyer, preparing to embark on representing his mom in his parents divorce, he doesn't ever want to get married. When one woman has her heart broken two weeks before her perfect wedding day, and the party of the century for her home town, Sara leaves and heads to Las Vegas.

Ethan is blowing off steam before the case of his career, his parent's divorce. When he runs into Sara he doesn't want to leave her and does what he can to spend more time with her.

A bet proving she'll marry a guy before she leaves Vegas and be happy should have been all it was. But of course in true Vegas fashion, waking up the next m
