Amazingly sweet love story. I mistakenly thought this was the first book. It's not. It's the third. I had no problem knowing who everyone from the previous books were and how they were all related. The mention of their previous stories makes me want to go back and read the first two.

Loved everyone except her nasty ex and his momma. Toby, Elle's son, was so cute. "George wants to ride you like a stallion rides a mare". George was awesome, and not afraid to cry. George and

I have to say, according to the description I expected someting different from the plot. what I got was a sweet love story, without a lot of heat but with a lot of feeling.

I liked the characters although I had some trouble with Elle. I understood her feelings and troubles but nearing the end, all the doubting got a bit frustrating

nevertheless, this was a very sweet love story and I enjoyed reading it

I laughed so hard at a conversation between 2 of the characters, George and 5 yr. old Toby. George kissed Toby's mom and then Toby asked why he kissed her. They eventually likened George's reason to a stallion and mare... Toby's really into horses and cowboys. LOL!!! I won't go any further so as not to spoil anything. Let's just say I found it hilarious.

Pulling herself up by the bootstraps, Elle opens up a bookstore café in a new town, a new home away from her abusive ex. Her son is safe, she’s safe and she’s going to make this new business a success if it’s the last thing she does. She’s a business owner now and a mom. She has all she wants in life—she’s too busy to have anything more.

Enter George Jones. Look up the saying “damsel in distress” and you’ll find a picture of George rescuing someone. It’s ingrained in his personality—he just can’t

Elle runs from her abusive ex, taking their son, Toby, to Houston to start a new life and a new business, her very own bookstore/café. Since her ex-boyfriend, Dean, showed no interest in Toby while they lived with him on his family’s ranch, she can’t imagine that he will care now.

On opening day at her new store, Elle begins to worry she may be in over her head, understaffed and underprepared for all the clientele. One of her waitresses calls in sick and her musician has a family emergency. When

What I liked about this novel...

I loved this sweet love story about Elle and George. Now to make this story complete I will have to add Elle's son Toby because he really makes this story so cute. We find Elle had left a controlling and abusive ex boyfriend... taking her son and determined to move on with her life. Now Elle
When George sees Elle for the first time he is intrigued. He sees a woman struggling and a hint of fear. Fear from what he doesn't know but he plans to find out.

Elle is trying to make a new life for herself and her son. Opening a bookstore cafe is a dream come true, but Elle knows she has to give it a try even though it is a risk. Elle can admit that George is attractive and his flirtations do not go unnoticed, however she already had a disastrous relationship and is not ready to delve into anot

Elle's son Toby made this book entertaining, “so you want to ride Mom and that’s why you kissed her on the mouth?” George swallowed his groan. He was digging himself deeper and deeper." I mean he's just so innocent and funny, “George wants to ride you like a stallion rides a mare,” Toby said simply." I liked George and Elle but in was mainly focused on Toby I fell in love with that little boy.

Started a little slow...

The book seemed to have potential after reading the synopsis. But it seemed to start off a bit slow. I kept reading it, admittedly putting it down now and then, and lo and behold it got better. Another winning book and, like the other two books, I highly recommend it.

This series is not disappointing me at all, I love the characters and the way the group of friends are their for each other and the new comer unconditionally. This one we meet Elle who we met briefly in book 2, she had left a bad relationship and is learning to take back her own power. Another really enjoyable HEA love story.

Under The Cover was a sweet story that I instantly fell in love with. Now this book being the third in the series, that didn’t mean anything. It wasn’t like I was confused and didn’t know what was going on. Under The Covers was a stand alone novel.

Now as I digress, Under The Covers was about Elle, a mother who has ran away from her abusive ex-husband(boyfriend) Dean. She lives a few cities away from the farm that Dean’s parents owned in hopes to start a new life. Elle opens a little cafe to help

Under the Covers by Claire Boston was a book that was easy to lose myself in with great characters I really enjoyed getting to know.

I really liked Elle. She doesn't dwell on the past...instead she uses it as a motivator to push herself into the future. She is young, but mature beyond her years. She is a hard worker, a devoted mother, independent, brave, and strong. Elle is not going to depend on anyone anymore or let anyone make decisions for her. She came out of a really bad experience, and ins

A Review of Under The Covers by Claire Boston

Sweet and lovable - 5 stars

I found this book and author from Net Gallery. We meet Elle, who we learn has fled her abusive ex. Alone, with her five-year-old son, and without any support, she has managed to pull herself up and open a bookshop café. However, she runs into some major hiccups, as she is busier than she expected to be and one of her employees failed to show up. During the chaos of trying to get things under control, George walks into the ca

I somehow missed Book Two in this series (surprised?) but I did get to read the first one, What Goes On Tour, and at the time I said I hoped there would be another because I wanted to see more of George. And boy did Boston delivery.

George is great. He’s amazingly understanding and cares a lot about people. He’s a great fit as a band manager and some of the traits that work for that also work well in his personal relationships. He’s good at paying attention, about helping out when needed, and he

Under the Covers (The Texan Quartet #3) is the 3rd book in a standalone series by Author Claire Boston.

This is the first book that I have read by this author and I found it to be a very light and easy read. Although, I felt that I didn’t need to read any of the prior stories to this one, I would be interested in going back and checking them all out at some point.

Under The Covers was about a woman named Elle, a mom who ran away from her abusive ex, Dean. Elle wants to open up a cafe to be able t

The last thing Elle needs is a man as charming as George Jones getting in her way but George has always been a sucker for a damsel in distress and Elle ticks all the boxes in this sweet contemporary romance.

After fleeing her abusive ex, Elle and her five-year-old son are determined to rebuild their life and the reader can’t help but get drawn into the story as George sets out to convince Elle that not all men are like her ex. The chemistry between Elle and George smolders from every page but due

So, a heroine on the run from an abusive ex with her young child is not the most original plot out there, that doesn't mean that I'm not interested in reading the resulting story and have read some really good novels using this plot device.

This book, the first by Claire Boston I have read, isn't the best of those I have read, while it was well written, I struggle slightly with the connection between our hero and heroine slightly, I didn't feel it had the depth that I really wanted it to. While I

***** 5 Stars *****

This is the 3rd book in the Texan Quartet series, as I didn't realise as I didn't read any of Claire Boston books until this one. Luckily its standalones ~ Phew!!

Elle Carter is one strong, brave girl as we get to know her as her story follows, She fled from her abusive ex boyfriend as soon he laid his hands on their 5 year old Toby. As he was so controlling she didn't have friends or her family due to her ex Dean.

Elle wants to provide for her son Toby and she feels starting her own bookstore & coffee shop is the best way. Her soft opening has brought in more customers than she expected. As a single Mom with no family in the area she is not sure how she will make the soft opening a success; then a friend of a friend walks in the door.

I liked Elle as a character. I really appreciated the soft side of her character. There were a lot of great tender "Mom" moments. Her nervousness about a new relationship was
"Under the Covers" is a sweet, clean love story. It follows Elle who fled from her abusive partner with her young son in tow. She has succeeded in opening a cafe where she meets George (George Jones! Kept thinking country music every time the name was mentioned) and his group of friends. I loved George, his family and group of friends and their interactions probably more than the budding relationship between Elle and George. Actually, the bond between George and Elle's son was more swoon worthy ...more

This is the 3rd book in this series and should be read in order

George-sexy and hot

Ellie-pretty and sweet

This is George an Ellie’s journey that is sweet, romantic and funny. As their journey takes ground the turmoil of raising a son takes its toll but so does the newness of what is to become. The laughable times of this woman with George coming into the forefront is light and airy. Can the bond between the three take hold and be a forever forging b

This is a story about a young woman who left a controlling and abusive ex with her young son determined to move on. She opens up a book store and on the opening day realizes she is unprepared for the success of the store. Several customers realize she needs help and step in to assist her.

George is immediately taken by Elle and can't wait to get to know her further. Elle on the other hand wants nothing to do with George beyond maybe a friendship. Elle has been hurt too many times and doesn't thin

Now there are good things and bad things about this read...hmm where to start? Elle has had an abusive past. A past that she was able to get away from even with a child in tow. Of course, she has doubts and trust issues. I felt it was a little extreme in some parts. George seemed he was genuinely in like with her. Toby had some funny things to say at times, but kids really do talk that way! Lol..I did laugh out loud a couple of times and that made me up it a star, but there were two love scenes ...more

I liked this book. It was just what I needed after reading my previous book. Claire has developed some awesome people to go with this story line. I knew it would become a heartbreaker. Elle had been young and caught up in love. Too bad it didn't work that way with her partner. Her ex, Dean, was enabled by his parents. She wanted her baby. He didn't. Major Spoilers. Now she has her own bookstore cafe. She is introduced to George, a manager to people wanting the spotlight. There is a special bond ...more

This story is quite typical and cliché. I love that George's family is very supportive. However, I felt that there wasn't enough talk about Elle's parents. Elle should have been able to meet up her parents at least once. It had been 5 years since they kept in contact. Whose parents wouldn't want to make sure that their children are safe and happy?! Quite ridiculous in that sense, unless this is how Elle's family works. I also felt that Lind

This storyline isn't unique but it's one I usually like. Unfortunately for me I could not connect with the h. Her thought processes, her actions, almost everything about her I didn't love. I honestly could not see what the H saw in her. The connection/passion between the H and h was absolutely missing for me.

Under the Covers was a good book. I want to go find the books for the friends in the this story because they sound like they have their own good stories. I enjoyed this book.
