The Resident's Guide to Ambulatory Care continues to be written by residents, for residents with contributions from 47 experienced physicians. The fifth edition involved an extensive literature search and modifications of every chapter and took almost 1 1/2 years to complete! The new edition includes comprehensive new charts and tables, algorithms, and current national guidelines for evaluation and management of many ambulatory conditions. The references have been updated and some chapters have web links for continually updated information.

I read five pages of this every morning and when I finish will probably start again. Its a very up-to-date handy companion book for resident doctors as well as GP's. The flowcharts, formulas and algorithms are very simple to understand. What I love are the doses and calculations for drip, including pediatric doses. I've read the Oxford handbook and I feel this is much superior and more convenient to use. Highly recommended for residents.
