I have been hooked on this series from the beginning. I love the theme of rock star and ordinary girl meet and romance blossoms. It's what many young girls' dreams are made of. So to watch it play out across the page is not only fun, but fulfills a girlhood fantasy of mine!

I have been hooked on this series from the beginning. I love the theme of rock star and ordinary girl meet and romance blossoms. It's what many young girls' dreams are made of. So to watch it play out across the page is not only fun, but fulfills a girlhood fantasy of mine!

Daisy has a strained relationship with her dad, who happens to be a bodyguard for the one and only Seconds To Juliet. And, while Daisy has worshipped this band from a far for so long, her heart was also crushed by one of their members. So when Daisy's mother ships her off to hang with her dad for the summer, she has to face those demons. The reader starts out with a lot of sympathy for Daisy and a true understanding of her wanting to take revenge on those who have hurt her. She comes across the page as independent and fierce, and I love that. She's also nowhere near perfect, which I find totally endearing because so many of the girl characters written these day scream perfection (a trait I find it hard to connect with much of the time).

Trevin is the oldest member of Seconds to Juliet. He's the one they all look up to. The one who keeps them in line. It's a lot of pressure. And what his manager says goes, as long as he wants to keep his music career (because it's what he wants more than anything else in the world). While the title of the book would have you thinking he was forefront in the group, really he strikes me as more of the glue that holds the band together, and the one that everyone falls back on. You can feel his angst when it comes to making sure the guys in the band live up to the expectations of their fans. I love that Trevin is sweet and endearing.

When Trevin and Dasiy are thrown together, things change for Trevin. He feels a pull between her and the band, one that is not easy to balance. Little does he know he inadvertently hurt her before he even knew her. Its fun to watch the romance between these two blossom, but at the same time they are both so weary of the other's motives. You route for them throughout, even with the teen angst they throw from the pages of the book. The romance is sweet and unassuming.

I like Purdy's writing. All the books are told in third person, which often has me fighting to connect with the characters. And, in all honestly, I really do think these books would work better if you really had the first person point of view. I don't see a need for the third person as there is nothing we can't learn about the characters through doing dual POV in this way. But the third person works well enough with these books to keep me interested and wanting to continue reading. I can see how it also might make them more consistent, since author's voices can vary so much more in first person (and every book in this series is written by a different author).

Overall I truly enjoyed this story. Thought not my favorite of the series, I found it easy to get through and I really was routing for the happily ever after in the end. I like that these books don't disappoint in this respect. Anyone who grew up worshiping a band or band member will understand Daisy and her fascination with Trevin and Seconds to Juliet. Lovers of Jennifer E. Smith and Stephanie Perkins will find themselves enthralled with the Backstage Pass series! ...more

Quick Reasons: is it just me, or is Daisy a huge brat?; the romance didn't feel genuine; I wasn't rooting for these two AT ALL; unfortunately, these butterflies were super frustrated; good father/daughter bonding moments; great focus on sibling relationships and Trevin's family

If I said I enjoyed this installment as much as the last two, I'd be lying through my teeth. This book? Disappointed me. Big time.

The thing was, when you gave people chances they learned how to break you. They could take everything in a single moment.

I think the biggest reason for this was Daisy. Now, don't go tearing my head off here—I did find the idea of a revenge plot entertaining at the start of this read. It promised something different for this series: a new sort of humor, a different spin on the fangirl backstory. A good laugh, if nothing else. BUT. Halfway through the read, Daisy was still whining and moaning and in general being a brat. And while I can get behind a good revenge plot ANY day (I mean, obviously, the well-written and amusing ones)...I cannot even with the bratty girls. This read would have been a lot more fun, if Daisy's sole purpose throughout wasn't JUST to get back at the boy who “hurt” her.

I also felt as if this particular couple came off less believable than the others we've been given so far. Obviously, part of this has to do with the revenge plot/bet portion of the story...but even during those moments where guards were let down and real emotions came into play, it didn't read as sincere for me. I didn't get the same type of butterflies from their interactions that I did during the last two books. They just didn't ever really seem to connect. Or maybe I was so annoyed with Daisy, I couldn't connect.

This was, however, still an entertaining read. I found myself giggling on several occassions, usually around Daisy's EARLY pranks on Trevin (you know...the innocent ones. The ones that didn't really hurt anyone) Also, the relationships and bonds between the boys were strong and clearly defined. We saw MUCH more of Nathan and Will in this book, which I loved—it gives me something to look forward to going in to the last few installments. And I loved the focus the author gave to Trevin and his relationships with his family—those moments really helped to make this book, in my opinion.

“Uh-huh.” Rosa smiled. “I’d say someone is smitten.” “That’s an understatement.” She laughed. “I can’t eat, sleep, or concentrate without his face popping into my head. Kind of like popcorn kernels left over the fire too long.”

Overall, this was a cute, amusing book...but I feel Daisy could have been written better. Also, the romance felt a bit too fake for my tastes. I still recommend to lovers of cutesy contemporaries, revenge plots, and movies like She's All That. If you're into those things, this is right up your alley! ...more

I feel like the best thing to compare this book to is cotton candy. I felt like I was walking through clouds of pink sugary fluff while reading this book. There were so many cute scenes in this book, and I ate it up! I found the romance to be really sweet, even though it felt a tad fast passed. I definitely said "awww" out loud during this book. If you love cute YA romances, then you definitely will get your fill of that with this book.

First there was Miles and Aimee, then there was Mia and Ryder, and now there's Daisy and Trevin! The Backstage Pass series has been an instant hit with me, and before I even start on my review, I just need to tell you that you should really check out this series. The books don't even have to be read in order because they're more like companions, though I suggest reading them from book one because the characters make cameos later on throughout the other books.

Daisy was such a great character. A few years ago, she won a prize and the prize was getting to go to the dance with a man of her choice from Seconds to Juliet, and she chose Trevin. The thing is, when she was all ready to go to the dance and reporters were there, she received a box. Inside the box was a letter saying that he couldn't come. It was the most humiliating experience ever for poor Daisy. Now, she's getting sent to spend the summer with her father who barely tries to interact with her after her parents separated. Her father is currently a bodyguard on tour with Seconds to Juliet, so Daisy decides to take control of the situation by planning on getting back at Trevin for what he did to her all those years ago.

Trevin was so lovable, regardless of the fact that he was in on a bet with Ryder to try to get Daisy to fall for him by the end of the summer. I felt so bad that he didn't realize that Daisy was the girl whom he was supposed to bring to the dance. He didn't mean any harm! I also liked how he was sort of the big brother of the band, as well as the addition of Korean heritage that was put into the book.

The relationship between Trevin and Daisy was great. I love how they really both had secretive motives in the relationship but didn't realize how easy it would be to fall in love with one another. I can't wait to read book four! ...more

I was drawn in from the first page, couldn't wait to read how these two would ever get together =)

I am really loving the Backstage Pass Series, they do not disappoint. Daisy and the Front Man is the third book in the series where we meet Daisy Morris and Trevin Jacobs, who are reunited by a leap of faith once again.

When Daisy Morris finds out that she is going to be spending summer with her dad, she is not too thrilled with the idea especially when her dad was supposed to be working for the Seconds to Juliet band that summer as their bodyguard. But what was supposed to turn into a terrible summer for her, became the perfect setting for her revenge. For what everyone did not know was that Trevin completely humiliated her by standing her up for homecoming and now it was payback time. What she was not expecting was to find herself completely falling for the guy that failed her before.

Trevin Jacobs is used to having the attention of a every teenage girl in the world, but when the outspoken Daisy Morris arrives to meet them on tour, he doesn't know what to think of her. He immediately senses the hate radiated from her and he is willing to do anything to change that. When one of his bandmates bets him to make Daisy fall in love with him, he just couldn't say no. He soon finds himself doing a lot of things to get Daisy to like him, never expecting to finding himself in a middle of an understanding between what he did in the past and the girl he unexpectedly has falling in love with.

From the characters to the setting, Rebekah L. Purdy did a great job describing the events that tranpired throughout the book. I liked the overall concept that it fit really well with the characters' personalities. Daisy is outspoken and smart, whereas Trevin can seem to be the tough one, but he is a softy in the inside and that makes the story that much more enjoyable to read. After winning the prize of taking any of the band member to homecoming, Daisy picks Trevin, but on the day she gets a signed picture of him apologizing that he cannot make it to the dance. The press was there to cover the story, but they left with a completely new story after filming Daisy be humiliated in front of all of them. Now after all this time, she has promised to do the impossible to humiliate Trevin just like she did to her. We can all guess her reaction when she finally got to see Trevin only have him not recognize her at all. That made things a lot worse for her, and that's when the story takes off. As the two of them start to get closer, the more she wishes she could stop before it is too late, but a twist in the story makes it impossible for her to stop and for Trevin to actually tell her how he really feels. The ending was my favorite part as it brought everything together very well. Overall, I highly recommend this book, and the entire series. If you love boy bands with handsome band member then this is the book for you. :)

I really liked ‘Daisy and the Front Man’ and give it 4 stars. It’s a YA contemporary romance. It was a cute and fun story. It is well-written and fast-paced. You can easily read it in one go. I will start by saying that this book was way better than Mia and the Bad Boy, and probably even better than Aimee and the Heartthrob, but I couldn’t give it 3 stars (like I gave Aimee), because it still couldn’t quite grab my attention, and I ended up skimming a huge portion of the chapters.

This series is just so damn adorable. I always have a goofy smile on my face while reading these books. Daisy and the Front Man was no different. It was fun, flirty, and silly.

With three novels already down, Backstage Pass has quickly become one of my favourite YA contemporary series and I’m so incredibly addicted! Each novel has been fun, funny and endlessly romantic; dealing with teen issues, family, friends and the pressure money and fame can bring to the lives of a young adult. All neatly tied up together with sass, humour and perfect romantic tension and chemistry I might add. And Daisy and the Front Man is no exception!

This time told through the eyes of Seconds to Juliet’s oldest member, front man Trevin, and Daisy Morris a teenage girl who Trevin once stood up, Daisy and the Front Man sees Daisy set out to get a little revenge against the guy who broke her heart when she finds herself spending the summer with her dad, a body guard for the famous boy band. Trevin on the other hand is in for the surprise of a lifetime when he accepts a bet to prove he can get the daughter of Seconds to Juliet’s bodyguard to fall in love with him before summer is through. The last thing he expected was to find himself falling for the surprising redhead and when Daisy begins to see that Trevin may not be so bad after all, both teens must decide whether love is worth taking a chance…..

Eeeep. More Seconds to Juliet! I’m totally stuck on this boyband. Miles, Ryder and now Trevin have won my heart and I can only hope Will will soon be next with Nathan following close behind! Rebekah L. Purdy creates a sold YA romance story with Daisy and the Front Man, writing both Trevin and Daisy’s voices perfectly. Both characters were a joy to follow and I loved being inside their heads.

Daisy and Trevin were both really likeable characters. Easy to follow, join and watch evolve, Daisy and Trevin had real personality and endearing qualities. Both made mistakes, especially where the other were concerned, but I really appreciated how Rebekah L. Purdy forced them to face their fears and grown. Trevin’s Korean heritage was a nice touch, but I would have loved to have seen even more of his family and culture. Daisy on the other hand had difficulties with her absentee father and I thought it sweet that Purdy explored this in Daisy and the Front Man too.

Another great romance featured in this novel and I really enjoyed watching it develop. Daisy and Trevin are quite adorable together and of course it was wonderful watching another Seconds to Juliet member fall. Rebekah L. Purdy won me over with the sweet romance, banter and chemistry between Daisy and Trevin.

With Daisy and the Front Man coming to a close, I’m already hankering for the next instalment. Who it will be written by and which remaining Seconds to Juliet member it will be about remains to be seen, but I think the person who will be front and centre next time is Will and I highly look forward to it.

Fun, addictive and wonderfully told, Daisy and the Front Man was yet another Backstage Pass novel that certainly did not disappoint!

I've enjoyed all of the Backstage Pass stories so far, but I have to say that Daisy and the Front Man was my favorite so far. I felt like it just had more conflict, both internal and external, that complicated the story and made the stakes much higher than in previous books. The author just took the story to another level from the prior books.

I really really really want to read the whole series and even though this turned in a really silly loophole. Which kind of reminded me of the infinity symbol...

This was probably closer to 2.5, but I'm rounding it up to 3 because I thought it ended well. I really liked Trevin in the first two books and was looking forward to his POV, but I actually liked him a LOT less in this one. I also thought both Miles and Ryder were portrayed as big jerks for most of the book, even though they were both supposed to be nicer after the events of the previous books. Fun, low-stress read - kind of like ice cream on a summer day. Daisy's father is one of the bodyguards for Seconds 2 Juliet and when her mom goes on a summer vacation, Daisy goes to stay with her father for the summer. Although this book is a part of a series, you do not need to have read the others. I think that my thirteen year old self would love this book. This book reminded me a lot of How To Lose A Guy in Ten Days. Great read! The last place Daisy Morris wants to be for her summer break is on a tour bus with S2J! After front man Trevin Jacobs caused her ultimate humiliation in front of her entire school by not showing up as promised for the prom, she have vowed to hate him forever! Trouble is, he's a really nice guy and giving him the cold shoulder gets harder and harder!

This book took me a long time to read. I honestly lost interest after like five chapters or so. I managed to finished and even though they used a plot slightly different it always comes down to trust issues, and always it's the guy's fault, even when it's both parts, like in the first book and now this one. I was born and raised in Michigan (just look for the giant mitten on the map—it’ll likely throw a snowball at you). I spent most of my time in Michigan, but while in the army got to call KS, SC, MO, and CA home for awhile as well.

As a kid my family moved around a lot. Try spending both your freshman and senior years at new schools (yeah, loads of fun). I could’ve changed my name to “new girl”.

I love writing for teens because those are the years I remember falling in love with most of my favorite books. Some of the authors I couldn’t put down were L.J. Smith, Christopher Pike, R.L. Stine, Richie Tankersley Cusick, Joan Lowery Nixon, Lois Duncan, amongst several others.

My husband and I have a large family. There are six kids total! So we have LOTS of fun on vacations (although hours on the road, cooped up in the Expedition is kind of stressful—although we pass the time with MAD LIBS and hoping no one gets carsick).

Some fun facts about me:

My first real crush was on Luke Skywalker (LOL—hey, I was like 8 years old and it came out before I was born).

I’m obsessed with several TV shows/Movies: The Vampire Diaries, Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, Sean of the Dead, The Sing Off, Ghost Hunters, Destination Truth, True Blood, Being Human, Fact or Fake, and all the cake designing ones! Oh and all the spoof movies!

I still own all the books I bought as a kid/teen.

I have a hankering for chocolate (like all the time, seriously. If my arm was made of it I’d chew it off).

Celebrity crushes: Johnny Depp (woohoo), Taylor Lautner (okay, I know he’s kind of young for me), Ian Somerhalder (ooh, he’s just right. We’re the same age). Wow, this was like a Goldie Locks and the Three Bears moment. Johnny Depp too old, Taylor Lautner too young, Ian Somerhalder—JUST RIGHT.

In my spare time I like to write (obviously), read, sing, hang out with my kids, play with my animals, camp, play soccer, check my email (hehehe), watch football (go LIONS). I also love hanging out with my sister and hubby!
