Time for Love is the newest addition to the Harmony Valley series from the Harlequin Heartwarming line of sweet romances. It is book five in the series, however it can be read as a stand-alone story. I have only read books four and five in the series and have had no trouble learning to love the characters of this charming town.

The author tackles some tough subjects in this book. From a heroine who is a recovering alcoholic, to a divorced dad struggling with custody issues, to traumatized horses

I purchased a copy of the full length novel Harlequin Heartwarming: A Harmony Valley Novel book 5 : Time For Love by Melinda Curtis and this review was given freely.
Recovering alcoholic and single mom Kathy meets Redemption Ranch owner, horse whisper and injured single dad Dylan when her brother Flynn and Veterinary Gage form a plot to heal both Kathy and a wounded colt. This sequel shows the brokenness of families of abuse and divorce but also provides hope for recovery.

Time for Love by Melinda Curtis
This book is a very captivating, true to life story of second chances, redemptions and love. Truman has a long road to get back to trusting his mother’s sobriety and find love again for her. She takes a job at the vet clinic in town to help her get back her financi

I’ve not read many works where the author is not afraid to tackle a subject that most would not want to discuss. Author Melinda Curtis does not fall into the “afraid to tackle a subject” category, and she proves that with her novel, Time for Love.

The subject in question is alcoholism. Kathy Harris has struggled with alcoholism for some time but she’s now in recovery. However, that takes a lot, and she works very hard every day to get her life back in order and repair her relationship with her s

This story is as real and raw as they get. It is heartbreaking, with the struggle and issues the characters face - alcoholism and custody battles. Both issues affect the whole family, community, around the people facing them, and the effects ripple in some cases even generations down.
Kathy is determined to win the battle, this time around. She has so much she could lose, mainly her son. She is honest about her battle, as honest as she can be. And the battle is constant. Her brother means well, b

Time for Love is a beautiful story of coping with addiction, abuse and finding love again. It is a poignant read that will make you cry but it also has several humorous scenes that will make you laugh.

Kathy is a recovering alcoholic who has lost her son's love and trust. Out of rehab, she is trying to make a better life for herself and regain the trust of her son again. But she does not have it easy. Her brother is worried that she will fall out of the wagon again and he has asked for the help o

I really enjoyed this story a lot. The struggles and trials faced by both Dylan and Kathy seemed insurmountable, but with faith in each other and the willingness to open up, we see their personal growth. And perhaps more.

Kathy has a problem. It's called alcohol. And it has cost her almost everything. Now back home out of rehab and trying to bridge the problems with her 8 yr. old son, she must face some tough choices. What does she want to do with her life, how is she going to beat this demon and

This is a very sweet story about dealing with addiction and finding life through recovery. Kathy is a recovering alcoholic, she has ghosts from her past that haunt her and challenge her recovery. Dylan is a child of an alcoholic and has opened his ranch to recovering alcoholics. Kathy's brother's Flynn has hired Dylan as a sober companion, but has prohibited Dylan from telling Kathy about being hired. In addition Dylan's ex-wife wants to take Dylan's son away from him for good, due to the danger ...more

Kathy Harris is back in Harmony Valley. Rehab was difficult, but the worse is yet to come. She wants to reunite with her young son, but she has shattered his innocence with her addition to alcohol. While she is working at the veterinary clinic, she meets Dylan O'Brien. He works with injured and broken horses. They are drawn to each other and she feels that she can trust him. What will happen when she learns that he has been hired by her brother to make sure that she stays sober? I loved Kathy. S ...more
There are some books that make people want to do better, try harder and not give up. I wasn’t expecting to find that in this romance novel. Like many of the other novels written by Melinda Curtis, this one has meaty, messy bits without the eye rolling drama. She isn’t afraid to tackle real life issues. (Alcoholism in this case) Her characters are flawed & realistic. Yet somehow, reading her novels don’t feel like a burden or a psychology assignment.

Kathy Harris grew up in a shattered childhood as she wanted a new life from her small town of Harmony. But it was not meant to last as she soon finds herself back from a short college stay, pregnant. Circumstance lead her to alcohol as she has recently been to rehab and now she is trying to build back her young son’s trust while working with the local veterinary.

Kathy was a recovering alcoholic who held that fact against herself and thought everyone who came in contact with her did too. Dylan was a rumored horse whisperer with a broken history of his own. An unlikely duo but one that would also make a strong pair if they would only let each other in.

Kathy worked at the vets office and was trying to earn her young sons trust back. She lost it one too many times when her drinking got out of hand. She was

This fifth story in the Harmony Valley series is truly wonderful and heartwarming. It can be read as a standalone as well. In it is the beauty of what can bloom from having to move on from dark places. The blending of the characters with each other is magical. Horses and dogs play a major part, too. Not only does Cathy, as a recovering alcoholic fresh out of rehab, need to gain the trust of her eight-year-old son, Truman, but Dylan, a horse trainer, needs to make hard choices that include a bitt ...more

Time For love ( A Harmony Valley Novel - Book 5 )
By: Melinda Curtis

Time For Love is book 5 in A Harmony Valley Novel Series. I have read a few in the series and would say that you can read it as a stand- alone without any problems. Its a second chance story for Kathy and Dylan. Both have had to deal with alcoholic parents and have had their measure of set backs. Kathy is a recovering alcoholic who is working hard to regain her son Truman's love and trust. I really liked how her daily struggle and low self worth is documented. Dylan needs redemption from a horse training accident which caused him to loose his nerve and taint his reputation. Not to mention surviving a divorce where his ex-wife is making it difficult for him ...more

This is a second chance story with a twist. As with most second chance story usually it's one of the main characters who have some type of drama going on. With this story Kathy has a few demons to over come, she is recovering from an addiction, trusting a and bonding issues. She loves animals and is working with Dr. Gage Jamero the town vet, remember him?

I really enjoyed this book by Melinda Curtis!
Kathy Harris and her brother didn't have it good growing up. They came from a family that was split apart so she and her brother were sent to live with their grandfather in Harmony Valley. Kathy vowed to get out of town and stay out of town as an adult, but when her life fell apart she was soon right back where she had started.
She has a lot of rebuilding to do not only herself, but her family as well, especially with her son.

Once again, Melinda Curtis invites readers back to the small California town of Harmony Valley. Although Time for Love is the fifth book in the series, it reads easily as a stand-alone story.

Time for Love is a story of second chances and sweet romance. The main characters are struggling to overcome various issues, and the author realistically portrays their thoughts, actions, and emotions. I thought that this was a heart warming book about second chances in pretty much all aspects of the word. I thought that it was interesting getting the aspect if an alcoholic character. Usually when I come around books they base it off just the characters family member being affected the alcoholic. I just thought that it was an interesting point of view getting into her head. This was a very sweet story. Kathy and Dylan both need a second chance. Her as a recovering alcoholic, him as the "horse whisperer" who was injured when a horse got out of control. They both need a boost to their self confidence.

This was a story about redemption. While reading this story I feel in love with Harmony Valley. Kathy's road to recovery and meeting Dylan was at time heart wrenching. But learning to accept support from family, friends & neighbors is a lesson Kathy had to learn & all of us can learn too. This book showed how forgiveness and second chances are well worth the risk you take. A wonderful love story between Kathy & Dylan. ...more

Time for Love

What a beautiful story of recovery, redemption and finding your inner strength. Kathy was an alcoholic still trying to recover and to fight her demons. Dylan helped troubled animals and people, with his own troubles. Together they may find the answers to their problems. You have to love both Kathy and Dylan, both have so much strength but it takes them time to get that.
