Fun easy reader chapter book. I'm clearing off the shelves now and come across this one that I only picked up in the first place because it has my son's name in the title but funnily enough I've looked at the author's other books and many years earlier for the exact same reason we had another book of his, "Andrew's Wild Bikes" in the house for years! I remember finding that one on the floor all the time! This is my first time reading this book; it's a cute fun story for the child who wants to be a firefighter when they grow up. After a fun night involving some fire and firefighting imagining, Matthew goes to bed and wakes up to a firecracker rocket flying into his room. He quickly puts out its flame with his glass of water when Fast Eddie the Firefighter arrives and invites him to join the firefighters for the evening. A silly, exciting story for first time readers or as a picture book to read-aloud. Martchenko is famous for his picture book work and he delivers with scenes full of action.
