I picked this book up here and there over a few months. At times the dialogue was so cheesy it was hard to get through, but the author was trying to convey the information through story, as he’s teaching us to do in the book. It worked, I remember quite a bit even though I took my time to read it. It has helped validate the ways I’m attempting to homeschool my kids.

I learned so much about the brain in a much more entertaining way than studying from a textbook. I loved the emphasis on using stories to aid learning, and I especially loved that the author used a story format to teach those brain principles.

I had the wonderful opportunity to take educational psychology with the author of this book at BYU-Idaho. It was an absolute delight to hear his insights through both his lectures and this book. I had never really realized how much our brains can remember things when it is in a story. I plan using this type of thing in my future classroom! I am so grateful that I had this wonderful opportunity to hear about this book straight from the author! I would recommend this book to any teacher, parent, or anyone involved in teaching or with children because it will help you understand a little bit more how our brains work so that we can work together with our brains to learn!

Wow. Very cool. Tons of great research presented in storybook form, since that is the best way to remember something. I've already tested the theories with Jacob and pooping his pants every time we go to a certain friend's home. It's all part of the brain training!
