This series is quite similar to the Lizzie McGuire mysteries I requested for interlibrary loans in the past, but different in the fact that Aly and AJ Michalka are real people and not fictitious characters. The first in a series of four, this opener wasn't too bad. It's inoffensive, the writing works perfectly with the age group (although there were a couple of times when the sisters were misnamed), the mystery isn't too predictable or impossible to solve, and West and Noll get the voices of Aly ...more

There are no ratings for this book, because I couldn’t get past the first ten pages without being absolutely turned off by how poorly written this book is. I was insulted at the pedantic and relatively stupid dialog. The writing is so ‘lame’ no teen would stick with it beyond page 1. Needless to say, I didn’t read the book in its entirety.
