I originally read Shooter (HERE is my review for that one if you are interested) - another book by this author that apparently has Preacher as a background character - a while back; however, I have NO recollection of said "cameo" and no real recollection of that book in general. In fact, according to GR, I finished that thing in January of 2014.

Which might have well been the English Regency period as long ago as that feels.

Actual depiction of me reading that book:

Just re-read Snake by Lilly Atlas and I remembered that Preacher was a darker, more action packed version of the same kind of story and it definitely packed more ominous vibes than the other.

Review for the other book here: Snake
While the story starts and develops differently, the premise/theme of redemption through love is the same in both.

I find myself in the mood for this kind of story: Anti-hero male lead finds himself at a crossroads and must decide if he wants to continue on the same

I should not have enjoyed this . . . but I did. Sorry not sorry. It was just so different from the other MC books I’ve been gorging myself on recently. Mainly because it had a little something you may have heard of called a plot. Also because

The other books I read by this author were just okay for me but this book was really good. The hero was not a good man but we see him change over the story to a person who is a better person. He is still not necessarily a good person but he is the right person for the heroine. The story really sucked me in, I liked both the leads. The heroine was a strong, likable person who started her own horse therapy business. The hero found a reason to live when he found the heroine and her way of life, it ...more

Wow. What can I say? This book was beyond my expectations and was definitely a story outside of the norm for the biker genre. I loved it. I felt like the author was a great story teller who held me captivated from page one and through to the end. The flow and pace of the story never let me down.

Jack is the President of his motorcycle club. Until one night, when he's betrayed and left for dead. Some how, he manages to beat the odds and finds himself at a run down ranch. Erin lives on he

Okay. When you first start Preacher you are going to think that this man is one irredeemable dickhead and you are going to want to DNF this book. Push on. Why, you ask? Because Jack “Preacher” Prior is the elusive unicorn of the man world. So rare you will probably never meet one in your lifetime. I’m talking about the kind who starts out as the worst type of man you can find, a waste of air really, who then changes completely because of the love of a good woman.

I cannot begin to tell you how mu

It has been a while since I read a good satisfy MC romance. When I picked up Preacher I have a high hope the story would be gritty and dark. And the sex is hot and dirty.

Well, I got the sex part but not dark and gritty story. In fact the story is more like a MC hero goes into vacation in a ranch. He adjusting to his new life and met a woman who he ends up fall in love.

Although there are some funny part during this so called vacation, I need more dark twisted story plot.

Overall this is an OK b

This is an offshoot of West's "Burnout" series. I gave that bundle 3 stars overall with the last book garnering 4 stars. As I said in that review, I think her writing has gained maturity over time and this book shows it as it hit the spot on multiple levels.

I wasn't sure I wanted to read this one because Jack Prior AKA Preacher is a cold blooded killer. He's the president of a "one percenter" outlaw MC and we see him in his murderous glory in the very first book of the Burnout series ("Shooter"
Well! What a surprise this was. I read Shooter way back when then didn’t continue with the series because I was totally put off Tex’s book. After finishing Preacher I’m thinking I need to revisit the Burnout series, sans Tex – I can’t go there.

I went into Preacher expecting an MC book, and whilst it started out that way the story wasn’t about the MC. Instead I got a fabulous story of growth and redemption. Jack “Preacher” Prior is the epitome of a violent, self-absorbed, harsh 1%’er who was dri
Can I give this book more than 5 stars? I really want to write one of my very long reviews that spoils the story and tells you exactly why this is one of the best romances this year, but I don't want to take away any of the goodness that I experienced reading this book without reading any spoilers. It's not your usual biker/MC romance that is all about the club, brotherhood, club whores, etc. It's about a man denied love his whole life and who finds a good woman. Along the way he realizes he rea ...more

It’s an excellent read! ❤️

I’m not in the mood to write a review, but I read this book because of Bev’s review here.

However this scene probably will give you little bit glimpse of Jack’s character and sweet Erin by her side 😘

Without thinking, Jack slid his hand over Erin’s belly, imagining he could feel something there.

“And the baby?” Erin asked. “What about Astrid? If it’s a girl.”

Jack winced. “What? Ass-turd?”

She pushed back from him, eyes flashing.
“That’s not what I said!”

I have a huge list of books waiting to be read but as soon as I found this one it went straight to the top of my list.
It's an interesting read it starts with Jack 'Preacher' Prior the president of the Badlands Buzzards MC and while he likes the position and being in charge he's become jaded and dulled by the life he leads, too many drugs booze and easy women.
I wasn't sure just how much I was going to like Jack, actually that's not true as he was at the beginning I didn't really like him at all b

It took me awhile to get through this one. Not because it was boring or too long, but because I committed the ultimate Reader's Sin... I rushed into reading this book, knowing full well that I wasn't in the mood for an MC read. Thus, me stopping and starting this read, moving to older books I was in the mood to re-read etc.., while placing this one aside time and time again.

But FINALLY! I got myself back on track and came back to Jack "Preacher" Prior & Erin and fell utterly in l

4 Preacher Loving Stars!!

Jack "Preacher" Prior is the President of the Badlands Buzzards MC who was betrayed by his MC brothers and left for dead. Jack's journey back to the living is intense, heartbreaking and yet heartwarming at the same time.

Erin Walker is the owner of a small rehab horse ranch, she loves what she does but it seems nothing is going well for her, however she determined to make her rehab ranch a success!! Then her world tilts with a betrayal and a mys

What a crazy ride. It was like John Wick, but romantic.
There's redemption and tight action and two people who would normally never cross paths, falling in love. Neither of them being particularly familiar with the emotion in the first place!

They don't meet til 15% in and DW wasn't pulling her punches when she wrote this.
Before they meet, I was not feeling at all sympathetic towards Jack. He seemed like he'd made his bed but was too clever to lie in it.
Erin though, I was feeling pretty worried

I picked up Preacher a few years ago for free and like so many before and after, it was forgotten and lost in my Kindle Library graveyard. That was until my GR friend read it and loved it that I decided to give it a try. Preacher was my first read from this author but definitely not my last, I loved it from beginning to end. Jack 'Preacher' Prior is not a good man, he has lived a violent life and has lost himself along the way. This is how he is betrayed not once but twice and it was a

I originally"met" Preacher in two previous books by this author, both times he was a complete and utter asshole but I very much wanted to read about him and...... I wasn't disappointed at all! I loved this book so much!

Preacher's mc has turned against him, he's beaten, shot and was supposed to die but one of his guys didn't go through with it (we find out later he's an undercover agent). Preacher manages to make his way to a farm where he meets Erin. He takes her hostage but when he has to help h

This must probably be the first book that I've left unfinished in my life. I have severe OCPD, I can't leave anything incomplete, let alone books. But this was terrible, and I may have reached my limits with this. That said, I know it isn't fair to rate a book that I haven't finished, but I think the very fact that I DNFed it is enough to prove that it's a shit book. It was too rapey, and I couldn't even bring myself to feel all pissy about it, because the sex scenes were laughable at

I'm not sure if I would rate this one a 3 1/2 or a 4, I liked this book and wanted to keep reading overtime I put this book down but it had a few things that just rubbed me wrong. But after saying that I think I am just so busy in RL that I am almost burnt out and so everything right now is just mm because this has the many things in a book that I would love. I really liked the characters(even that dad) and of course all the animals. This book is almost the opposite side of a MC book and it was ...more

I really liked this book. A former biker president out for revenge ends up at a horse ranch in the middle of nowhere and falls for the owner. I liked how most of the book was them out at the ranch getting to know each other. I liked how he changed to be a better man for her.

It reminded me a lot of this author's book, Shooter, and was a great read. The funny parts with Julio the chicken made me laugh too.

I recommend this as a good "biker light" book.

Holy shit! Chickens could fly?!

Jack “Preacher” Prior, a stereotype biker, hard drinker, drug-user, and likes to bang lots of women focusing only on his needs and couldn't care less if the women got off. It was all about him, being king of his world. He managed to unravel a conspiracy amongst his subjects that would have resulted in his assassination. Feeling all invincible he didn’t realized that he did not got all the plotters and that another attempt was coming his way. The conspirators, on th

this had a TON of problematic stuff (for example the heroine refers to abortions as dead babies. yikes.) and stuff i didn't care for (mostly the MC drama and *that* trope). but the hero's redemption arc was so great that I couldn't not give this anything below 4 stars on GRs.

So I'm surprised this is considered erotic romance

Setting / Time / Genre: Current, Dakotas

Length: 400 plus pages of a surprisingly good story.

Series: Since it says #1, I am taking that as a yes.

Sexy times: Yes. Plenty. Some graphically described but again, as I said above, surprisingly not in the erotica vein. Perhaps I just don't know what erotica is. Color me confused.

Plan on reading more by the author: Yep.

Synopsis in one sentence or slightly more: So there's this guy who is the Pres of an

Dahlia West is another first time author for me and I love her writing style!

This wasn't your run of the mill MC romance. The hero is dark and reminded me a little of Anne Stuarts male leads. Loved the heroine as well.

Wow!! The book was really really good!! Preacher's growth and redemption is just beautiful to read. He may not be a good man at the start but he worked his way to become a better man.

No cheating
The writing was tight
The drama made sense
