This was a great story about love and survival of domestic violence. The characters were so authentic and real, I had to step back several times for a moment. The author did an amazing job with this story.
Pretty well-written, but I absolutely hated the female MC!!!
The best friends to lovers trope is classic, but the foundation of their friendship was glossed over. Other than them meeting in college, there was very little character development to explain why they are essentially "ride-or-die" friends.
It became annoying how long it took them to finally get together! Then when they did eventually become a couple, without the past casting shadows over their relationship, the book ended abruptly.
I really wanted to like this book and I'm easy to please - rarely critical. But I cannot recommend this book.
The Book Talk to the hand by Darrien Lee was the most interesting book I read. I really did enjoy the book because I'm into books like Drama and realistic fiction. This book had me wanting to keep reading because of all the suspense in the book had made me connect better with it. I really felt like I was in Nedra shoes and also Donovon with the relationship they had with each other. I really Loved the end because it was a happy ending.
