Evie and Ryan are selective. Not just any man will do. After weeks of trying to make a connection online they finally extend an invitation that outs their sinful search to their widowed landlord, Seth. And then Seth reveals a secret of his own: he’s more than eager to become his young tenants’ playmate.
In spite of the explosive dynamic the threesome find in bed, Ryan’s insecurities bubble to the surface. He wanted a lover who wouldn’t hurt Evie, but as he watches his woman writhe with the ecstasy another man gives her, it becomes clear that Seth isn’t the one Evie needs to worry about leaving with a bruised heart. Sharing the control in bed was the easy part. Losing control of his emotions could destroy what he has with Evie.
This is one of those instances where the erotica genre is failing me. First 6% practically one long sex scene without any character development to interest me.
Words like nether, hood, slippery lips, mound, fat clit.. That's just the first 5%. How many more adjectives can we come up with for it? Is there a thesaurus for such things? Hmm.
I'm out!

At first this book grabbed my attention. I was excited for something new, a lot smutty.
But as it went on, I just really lost interest. It was hard to get through, after about the first ten percent. There was drama and awkward encounters that just did nothing for me. Basically, it got weird and the characters got annoying. A bad combniation.
The way the book ended wasn't the way I wanted it to. For those of you who enjoy all smut, with little to no plot, this one is for you!
Evie and Ryan are two 20-somethings who met in their apartment building. Over the course of several months they developed a friendship, and then more. They are currently an exclusive couple who enjoy some light kink, including bondage, but Ryan has recently revealed that he is bisexual and has desires to have relations with men. Evie's on board, if she can be a mutually-pleasured party--Ryan thinks he's the luckiest man evah.
He kinda is.
Thing is neither he, nor Evie, can find a suitable third. They have some feelers out on the kink webforums, but the leads aren't good. Most of the respondents don't want to play equally with Evie or Ryan.
A disastrous tryst ends with a mortifying rescue by their landlord, Seth, who isn't exactly averse to a bit of kinky fun with his tenants.
I like the emotional and sexual landscape of this book. It is told by Evie and Ryan, and we get the full sense of their experience, which is both good and bad. Expect some seriously hot sexytimes and some low points--especially when Ryan blows the whole thing up. Honestly, I need to know Seth has his own book coming, because this dude stole the story.
This is a story set in London, so expect the Briticisms to be strong and loverly. It made my Anglophile heart swoon.

When Ryan reveals he's bisexual to Evie, they decide to take their relationship a little further by adding a third playmate in the bedroom, luckily the hot hunk of a landlord, Seth, steps up
I wasn't overly keen on the characters, at least not the males, one came out as bossy and cold and the other bratty and immature, though they had their good attributes too, it wasn't enough to distract me from their bad. The sex and timeline felt choppy. The dynamics in the relationship and the relationship itself didn't turn out the way i'd hoped.
All in all it was a hot short flirty read that wasn't entirely satisfying for me.
Evie was on the fire escape going up to Ryan's apartment when her landlord -Seth- called out to her. He may well have been the devil or a warlock with his long hair and bearded appearance and his arms darkened by ink. The anniversary of Seth’s wife Rita was coming up. But Seth wanted no one’s pity. But Seth was dealing with some insomnia. Ryan was sleeping when Evie came in his window. He had been getting up at 5:00 am for the past two weeks. Evie envied the money he was making at the hospital but she didn't envy the hours when he drew the early shift or the nights he was on call. Ryan probably went to bed when he got home so he could be up until Evie decided to go to bed. Evie was a tour guide. Ryan had been her friend for almost a year and boyfriend for three months. Ryan had told Evie he was bisexual and would like a man to play with them. Maybe even their landlord Seth. They had already tried the kink websites with no good leads. This just wasn’t for me. I didn’t like the threesome act. Also right from the start of this book it is all sex. Nothing really about Ryan or Evie or Seth. themselves. This just wasn’t for me. I am sure others will really enjoy it.

There has been a long time since I read an erotic book, mostly because I found that most of them were focused in the sex scenes and didn't had much substance when we refer to the plot. This one was a surprise because it was actually pretty good.
The main characters of this story are Ryan and Evie. They are in a serious relationship, and as part of their sex life, they have decided to find a third male partner. Not permanently, more like an ocasional sex partner. They are very meticulous in their search and in letting a person join in their relationship, and spent months trying to find in the internet the perfect person to fill the role, finding all kind of people and making some mistakes. That is, until they find their dream sexual partner in the least expected place: their own building. Yeah, I'm talking of Seth, the landlord.
As I said before, I was expecting some kind of novella that were mostly sex scenes with a joke of plot behind. What I found was the story of two very normal people trying to satisfy their needs, to find a way to express their love and overcome their fears.
The relationship of Evie and Ryan looks perfect at first. That is, until you notice that one of them is going in tiptoes trying not to make the other feel uncomfortable, because that has many insecurities that could get in the way of their happiness.
The characters are very complex, each one with their own issues and needs. I liked that the author took a situation as looking for a third sex partner very seriously, not only like the background for sex, sex, sex and more sex. The book is not overloaded with intimate scenes, but it has the exact number to follow the flow of the book with a good rythm, and also to make it sexy.
It was very sad Seth's story, but I am happy he is going on with his life.
Evie and Ryan are selective. Not just any man will do. After weeks of trying to make a connection online they finally extend an invitation that outs their sinful search to their widowed landlord, Seth. Review:
I have to say first, I liked this story, but I had higher hopes for it. I thought the concept of it, a couple looking for a third for something casual and because the male in the couple is bisexual. A lot of times in stories I have read, most of the couples are seeking a permanent third but they are not and it was interesting to see how the jealousy and insecurities played out in this tale. I did not connect as much with Evie and Ryan as I did with Seth, I really liked Seth and thought as a character he had much more depth. The first part of the story when Ryan brought the stranger/dating site hook-up home was intense and kind of scary because you know that can happen. Once they decide to ask Seth to be their third, I kind of wanted him to steal away Evie, I know that is so wrong but...I did. I think, for me there could have been more conflict, Ryan does not really seem to fight for Evie once she walks away.
This is a new-to-me Author and will definitely be picking up Seth's book. I thought the writing was good, the sexy was well-done, I did not connect with Ryan and the ending felt a little rushed.

Evie and Ryan are attempting to spice things up by adding a third to their relationship. After kissing multiple toads they finally realize the prince that they have been waiting for has been in their building all along!
Can Evie, Seth and Ryan make things work? Read and find out!
I received this book as an ARC from Net Galley for my honest review.
My review: I honestly love that A.M. Hartnett always brings honesty to the romance scene. In every book that I read these couples are out there trying to experiment and meet their perfect match on the first try. In this book A.M. Hartnett brings this couple a rude awakening showing that what they are doing can be seriously dangerous if they pick the wrong person.
Now don't get me wrong this book is not a handbook on the do's and don'ts of adding a third but more of a peak into how bad it can get and how great things can be when they find the perfect fit.
My favorite character in this book is Seth, he is a take charge kind of guy who knows what he wants and not afraid to give Evie and Ryan exactly what they wanted. My least favorite character was Ryan...he appeared to be very selfish, making all of these rules that he clearly broke over and over again.
When it came to Evie I got where she was coming from; she was ready to try new things and experiment with her boyfriend. I love though that when the time came she stood up for herself and made her feelings known in a big way.
This book is selling right now for 3.99 and I think that is a fair price. If you want a book that packs some explosive heat, then this is the book that you need in your life. Great job A.M. Hartnett I love what you bring to the table...nothing wrong with daring to be different!
**ARC provided by publisher for honest review*** Main Characters: Ryan & Evie and SETH Update: Now that I had time (overnight) to think on it, maybe the fact that I am still thinking about it makes it a better book than I thought. Maybe this is what the author wanted when writing this. Hmmm if so, touche Ms. Hartnett, well played! I am upping my rating! I fell hook line and sinker! As a side note I love it when I read a book and just can’t stop thinking about it, so thanks!
Original: So this is going to be an informal review, because frankly I feel bad about how I am going to review this book. I feel bad because the author did well, there was a story to be and it was out there, but I just didn’t take to it. It’s not you (the book) it’s me! I have never read a book where I didn’t like the two main characters. I really didn’t connect with or like Evie or Ryan. Evie is looking for excitement and always wondering if the grass is greener, but doesn’t realize what green is. Then Ryan is stubborn on the wrong points and too selfless on others that he makes himself unhappy and therefore hurts those he wants to love. Seth however totally won me over, he is the shining light to the whole thing. I wish Seth was the main star. This book is like they took the supporting cast of another book and made a spinoff, but instead the best character became the supporting cast. I’m sorry, I don’t blame the author or reader for being mad at my review, I am mad at my review!
Cross My Heart started off well and I really enjoyed the first fifty to sixty percent, but then it lost its way for me. Unfortunately it didn't manage to keep my attention all of the way through, and I struggled to finish it. Its hard to say exactly why I didn't love this book, but it definitely didn't help that I didn't really like the hero of the book, Ryan.
Evie and Ryan have been dating for a few months and have decided to fulfill Ryan's fantasy of bringing another man into their bedroom. Their ideal guy proves to be elusive, and they begin to think they won't find anyone, but the man for them could be closer than they think. Their landlord Seth surprisingly ends up joining them, but can Ryan handle his jealousy, and will people end up getting hurt?
As I said before, I'm not a huge fan of Ryan, he just seemed a bit selfish, insecure and immature. Seth really appealed to me though, he is a great character. The story is told alternately from Ryan and Evies's point of view which was good, but I would have liked a chapter or two told from Seth's point of view so that we could get to know him better. The sex scenes in this book were great, and the MMF scenes were especially hot. Evie and Ryan enjoyed a bit of kink, and this made for fun, steamy reading.
Cross My Heart is a hot book, but I would have liked there to be a bit more to the plot, so I give it three out of five stars.
I received a copy of this book via NetGalley in exchange for a honest review.
This book was not what I was expecting. I was expecting... Something light and to the point. We don't get that. It's kind of heavy. A lot of people battling their feelings. Coming to terms with with their feelings. Not a lot of the whole 3 somes. A lot of one on one (m/f).
To be honest... I wasn't really feeling Ryan or Evie's character. Ryan seemed childish and Evie seemed needy and insecure. I was not feeling Evie's character at all. I felt her struggling with Ryan's curiosity of being bi-sexual. I felt her struggle when they tried to do a 3 some the first time. I don't think she fully knew what she agreed to when agreed to bring another man into Ryan and hers relationship. I think it truly freaked her out to see how much Ryan wanted to be with another man and she just couldn't handle it.
It changed when Seth came into the picture. I really liked his character. Ryan... Wanted the best of both worlds. But he too was also insecure.
The sex was alright. But I liked it better with just Seth and Ryan.
I wish I could have liked this book a little more. The cover and blurb alone had me going. But... It fell a little flat for me.

3.5 stars
There is not a great deal that needs to be said about this book. It was filled with sexy scenes, most of which involved threesomes. Plot lines were rather light beyond the purpose of the story, which seemed to be a vehicle for writing sexy threesome scenes. I mean, practically the only settings in the book were the bedrooms of the two main characters. This could have, no, *should* have been very fluffy and void of substance but what carried this was that I actually liked the characters. I really feel that this could have gone the other way, but instead, I found myself enjoying this read. In fact, I think Seth stole the show. (Apparently, he gets his own book, soon.)
The sexy scenes sometimes fell short due to confusing descriptions. Weren't they standing? Whose underneath? Is there enough room for that? I found myself having to reread sections only to try to figure out the logistics of the scene which were confusing in their description and not helped by the fact that there was an extra set of arms and legs to describe.

This is the story of Ryan and Evie. They live in the same building and started dating a couple of months ago. After Ryan reveals that he is bisexual, they both realize that something is missing in their relationship. So they start looking online for a third person to join them. After meeting with a seemingly nice guy that ends up in a disastrous fight. Luckily, their landlord Seth was home and able to come to the rescue.
This was an extremely erotic book. The author was almost made it to hot in the fact that it was so descriptive you can easily picture whats going on. The author made it more real when we got to see Evie and Ryan worry about becoming the third wheel. This made it for me more to the point that sometimes fantasies are better off as fantasies.
I loved Seth and Ryan more than I liked Evie. There was just something about her that bothered me but overall together the three together made quite the sexy picture. To me, Seth definitely stole the story. I wanted more from him and would really be up for seeing him more in a future book.
My Review of Cross My Heart by A.M. Harnett My Rating 3 Stars
This author is new to me, and I always love a good menage story. The storyline for this book had so much potential and fell a little short for me. Ryan and Evie who are a young couple early in their relationship, and these two have an explosive sex life, and Ryan who is very comfortable in his relationship with Evie confesses that he is bi-sexual and would like to bring a third person into their relationship, between these two lovers they decide to be very particular in who they bring in to their bedroom. I really enjoyed the character of Seth, the story I felt really revolved around his character more than maybe it should have. The sexual actions were somewhat forced, and not real clear and at times were confusing. The writing was really good and could have better flow at times. I will look for more from this author, as this was a hot short novella.

7/10 from me. This is a short erotic story. My thanks to the Publishers and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this in exchange for an honest review.
Evie & Ryan are in a relationship but are looking to spice up their sex life. They come up with the idea of having another person in the bedroom with them of the male variety. They both want to experiment, but deep down neither of them wants to be used or abused. As they embark on a slightly haphazard way of finding that third person they have a few bad experiences which leave them wondering if perhaps they have made the wrong decision.
Then out of the blue right under their noses they find that third person, none other than Seth their landlord. As the boundaries between tenant and landlord become blurred they embark on a temepstuous time in the bedroom and out of it.
I found this an easy reasonably well written read, it's definitely steamy and for the over 18 reader. Please don't attempt reading this if you are offended by man on man action between the sheets, so to speak.
I got this ARC for an honest review and I enjoyed every last bit of it!
An almost new couple is on the lookout for a third, for their games in bed, they tried everything but it seems to be an impossible task!
Ryan an Evie can't decide on a perfect person for their threesome, and after an incredible failure they are skeptical about the whole thing, until Evie brings up the possibility of their landlord joining in.
Seth is rough around the edges, older, and has suffered a terrible loss; but he seems to fit just fine with them.
Games of power during sex, variations of giving and taking control make this the perfect book. They play and spoil the reader with incredible hot sex scenes. M/M and M/M/W sex scenes that are extremely detailed.
I could not put this book down. I feel like I've met these characters and they were my next door neighbors and I adore them. Evie, Ryan and Seth are all neighbors; Evie and Ryan are in a new relationship together, but they are already looking to spice up their love life. I liked how they tackled the issues that arise with having a threesome and how they approach it was almost humorous at times. This is a very steamy read, off the charts! It was predictable in some ways, but it had some twists that I wasn't expecting at all. The writing was fantastic. I highly recommend this book for those who like spice and adventure in their stories. I received a copy in exchange for an honest review.
The storyline for this book had so much potential and fell a little short for me.
Ryan and Evie are a young couple with a very active & explosive sex life. By feeling very comfortable with their relationship, Ryan confesses to Evie that he is bi-sexual and would like to bring a third person into their relationship. So, that’s how their search began, not knowing that their perfect mate is right under their noses.
I really enjoyed their landlord’s roll in the story that made it not so much boring. However, it feels as if the story revolved almost around him anyway. All in all it was a short but hot read! Not 100% satisfy by it, but certain that I’ll be looking for more from this author!
I received this ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
Cross My Heart had hot sex scenes! I kept having to put the book down and fan myself. This was a good read. I really hope that Seth gets his own HEA in a book. I didn't really like Ryan. I was honestly routing for Seth's character. Their was the couple's relationship, add in the extra guy, and then how each of their relationships to one another, and it was quite interesting. Those relationship interactions are what kept me reading.I received and ARC of this book from the publisher and NetGalley for an honest review.
I hate having to leave reviews like this. I was expecting so much more, the description pulled me in and had me wanting to read this ASAP. This really was a hard sell for me. The story line had so much potential but sadly lacked the edge to keep me interested. I really do hate having to leave reviews like this. I am not in any way pulling the author down. I just found the story needed more. I struggled to keep reading and with every page was hoping it would get better.
I was given an ARC of this novel for an honest review. I think the story may have been better served as simple M/F who seek to spice up their sex life rather than awkwardly dragging another person into a ménage relationship. The sex between the three took way too long to come to fruition and I didn't understand why the creepy they found online even was in the mix. They were not a threesome that I found myself rooting for and emotionally vested in.
I really liked how this one played out. There was a menage, but it wasn't about the menage. There was a romance, but it wasn't about the romance. It was mostly about Ryan learning about who he was, and learning to accept it and how it effected his relationship with Evie. Seth also learned a thing or two and I would love to see his story.
** I received an e-copy of this book from netgalley in return for an honest review.
Copy provided by NG for an honest review. This book unfortunately had a tougher time holding my interest than others in the same genre. But I didn't quit reading because there were just enough humorous and enjoyable parts speckled within the story. However, this wasn't a book I can clearly say I enjoyed. I'm sure it will be a great read for others though!
