Some dogs are hippies, blissing out on all the freedom with their ears flapping against their head and letting off big tracers of dribble that run down the side of the car at traffic lights. It was a sick book. I liked the part where he went fishing and the motor fell off their hired boat and when they got back to the boat hire the owner wanted to charge them for damage to the boat when the owner should be the one getting sued for safety vialations so Wayne's Dad started having a swearing match with owner and ended up fleeing after sinking the boat.

Started out a 2.5 to 3 star but finished a 3.75.
After I finished I discovered it was a sequel. I'm guessing that is why I struggled with the beginning.
Very Aussie, teenaged boy story. Worth a read.

Scot Gardner wasn't born reading and writing; in fact, he left school in year eleven to undertake an apprenticeship in gardening with the local council. He has worked as a waiter, masseur, delivery truck driver, home dad, counselor, and musician.

These days he spends half the year writing and half the year on the road talking to people about his books and the craft of writing.
