Once upon a time, on the Old Tumbledown Farm, in The Middle of Nowhere, in the Forgotten Corner of the Kingdom, two sisters are still arguing over their destinies. Sadly, neither of their plans are really working. Eliza's archery skills are dangerous to everything but the target, and her trusty steed is merely their goat, Gertrude. Claire and I loved these books and are REALLY hoping that Sarah Courtauld is working on more funny, surprising, quirky fairy tales for us to read soon! (This one was maybe a *bit* less funny than the last one. But still such a perfect book for Claire's personality.)

Eliza and Lavender are two sisters who couldn't be more different. While completing their chores on Old Tumbledown Farm, Eliza keeps practicing her archery skills since she's sure they will come in handy eventually, and Lavender knows that it's her fate to marry a prince. When Lavender accidentally acquires a magic snail with the power to grant wishes, she gets her wish, but not quite in the way she expects to have happen. The whole crew, including Gertrude the goat and shy Bonnet, end up being ...more

Eliza and Lavender are back at it again. When Lavender finds out there are no longer any princes to marry, she decides she must go to a magical land and marry a magical prince. Boris the witch, gives her the Holy Snail and then the real adventure begins. There are giants and wishes and Lavender even gets to fly! (though not quite in the way she imagined). Though some of the story's humor is over-the-top, there are many laugh-out-loud parts that will delight the reader. A good addition to the Buc ...more
