Cameron Reid’s return to his home town of Bindarra Creek was a quiet one – he didn’t announce his presence and he knew his dad wouldn’t have. But his arrival just before dawn in the foggy streets of town was anything but peaceful. With an immediate flashback to the horrors of Iraq spiking his adrenalin he slammed to a stop – but… he was in Bindarra Creek, not Iraq…

Cameron’s father Jed and sister Tori were happy to see Cameron home at last; the excitement as sixteen year old Tori squealed and thr

Shadows of the Heart is sweet romance between a war veteran and a city girl. Cameron Reid came home from Iraq to look after the family farm and his sick father. Rhiannon Scott was Bindarra Creek new district nurse after running away from City after an incident that was not her fault. Rhiannon Scott and Cameron Reid met when Rhiannon came to look after Cameron's father. The readers of Shadows of the Heart will continue to follow the growing romance between Cameron and Rhiannon to see if they will ...more

Sweet, fun and low-angst read, of a small-town romance that re-ignites when serendipity brings two teenage sweethearts back together again. There's a touch of suspense and little twists of surprises (the tick incident made me cringe and laugh at the same time) in the story that keeps it all very entertaining, but it's nothing less than what I've come to expect from Lee Christine, whom I can safely associate with unusual plot developments and sensible characters who thankfully don't do stupid thi ...more

I loved reading the book Shadows of the Heart. It hooked me from the first chapter and I havent been able to put it down . I liked the linking of the farming aspect , with the nurse (city link) and the very topical inclusion of an SAS soldier from the Middle East conflict. It is absolutely fabulous that writers still want to write about outback farmers in Australia as it is an important aspect of Australian culture and people love to read about farmers. I didn't like the sound of the nasty tick ...more

This is book 2 in the Bindarra Creek series and it hasn't disappointed. A second chance love story we are introduced to farmer and ex-army Cameron Reid who goal is to restore the family cattle station.
Rhiannon Scott is the local nurse who has come back to Bindarra Creek to wait out the outcome of a lawsuit. She goes out to Cameron cattle station Bindarra Downs and runs into the man she fell in love with years before.
Cam and Rhiannon is a wonderful love story.
This is the first of Lee Christine's

Shadows of the Heart gives us romance the second time round mixed with a bit of suspense. What’s a girl gunna to do when she runs into her one time love? Panic. Rhiannon Scott is meant to keep a low profile while she is in Bindarra Creek waiting for the trial for a harassment charge against a doctor in her previous employment. But the involvement with one time love and sexy ex-Iraq solider becomes anything but low key. Cameron Reid has come home to restore his family cattle station, he’s not loo ...more

This novel has not disappointed. It brings the same leave of interest to the small town of Bindarra Creek as Bindarra Creek Makeover. And introduces us to even more interesting characters. I love stories that give characters a second chance at love, and Shadow of the Hearts give it in spades.
An enjoyable read.

Bindarra Creek has my heart. Just finished another from this beautiful series set in the fictional town on the tablelands of New England, Australia. Each story is like coming home and meeting new friends. Great story Lee Christine, I had only read a chapter and life got busy but started it again today on the train to and from work and just kept going as I wanted to know what happened with Cam and Rhiannon. Romance and a bit of suspense make for an entertaining read.

A riveting read that sees a war-weary and well respected ex-soldier go head to head with a girl with a secret past who, should they become a couple, would have catastrophic consequences in the tight little community where they live, Bindarra Creek.
Elegantly written, this is a mature storyline of deep emotion, heartache, and love.
Lee Christine has captured the characters superbly, with both Cameron and Rhiannon able to snare the reader into loving them.
Beautiful. A must read.

Lee Christine is one of my favourite Australian Romantic Suspense authors. Her instalment of A Bindarra Creek Romance did not disappoint. With a second chance at love flavour to the story, her soldier hero Cameron Reid returns to Bindarra Creek to save the family's struggling cattle station. An edge-of-the-seat read as always from Ms Christine. Well drawn characters, a tense plot and loads of action to keep the reader entertained.
