Yes, this book has illustrations throughout, but it seems as if each photo is of a chair, and at some point other items should have been included. There are many individual pieces highlighted for each period, but I would have been more impressed if there were a greater amount of photos of room interiors. Seeing a room with the furniture and additional components such as wall and floor coverings would have made this book much better and in my opinion, somewhat more comprehensive.
