Cameron broke the bro code and slept with his best friend's baby sister. If that wasn't bad enough, he left right after and never looked back. Dylan has been avoiding Cameron for the last 10 years after he took her virginity and smashed her heart. She goes to New York for a business meeting and guess who is in the room with her?

Great book, it was short and sweet. Hot, Steamy, Sweet...it has it all. I almost wish it was longer, more build up in the romance. Fantastic read though!

This was short, fast-paced, cute and adorable story!

Cameron & Dylan spend one night together in college and then never talk again.. PROBLEM is that Dylan is his best friend little sister and it's inevitable not to see each other, so the Dylan's solution is avoidance .. FOR TEN YEARS!

After Cameron disappearane after that night, Dylan is heartbroken. She dedicated her life to work and now expecting her biggest promotion she needs to negotiate a deal in New York . What she didn't expect is that the lawyer she needs to meet is not just anyone but.. Cameron !

Would they be able not to tear each others clothes again?! Would it be hard not to talk about what happened? Hell, NO!

That's what I loved about this story! There is not waiting for them to pull their heads from theis asses ! The hero is determinate to earn her trust again, to tell her the truth about what happened long back ago, to say that he never stopped loving her ! Cameron is sexy, charming, classy and didn't gave up without fight! He was so sweet and honestly I wanted to hug him!

The heroine is strong, smart, sassy and sweet ! She is a grown up woman who know what she wants and what she needs! She never stopped loving him as well and the thought of leaving him is unbearable. She wanted to revenge him but her true feelings won !

Their steamy scenes were scroching hot , lusty and filthy!

What I really LOVED was the fact that I finally read a book when the big brother don't have problem with that his best friend to be with his sister! FIANLLY! For me THAT is realistic, not making the big problem of that, but accept it!

I've read another book by Ava Jackson and I really love her writing style, so this book won't be the last I will read from her!
If you want something funny, sweet, light and filthy to read, check this author's books!

Ten years ago Cameron and Dylan spent a night together. Dylan thought it was a special night that would forever change their lives, but Cameron thought it was a mistake because Dylan is his best friends little sister. Freaking out about that night, Cameron left the morning after and for the past ten years Dylan has avoided him, angry that he left her. Now, Cameron is done letting her run from him, and it's past time that he apologizes for what he did. But Dylan isn't so open to accepting that apology.

This was a super fast, sexy read about second chances and forbidden love. I liked the chemistry that Cameron and Dylan had and I really enjoyed the characters. Cameron was sweet and determined to get Dylan back in his arms. Dylan was sassy and strong and I liked how dedicated to her job she was. I liked them together and their love was very sweet.

The story was a little too fast for me and I wanted more of Cameron and Dylan getting back together. By the ending the story started to feel a little rushed and I didn't like how it abruptly stopped and then went to the epilogue. Overall, I liked the story I just wanted a little more of it.

HARD: For My Best Friend’s Sister is a Contemporary Romance written by Ava Jackson. I was gifted a copy from the author in exchange for an honest review through Once Upon An Alpha .

3.5 “Broke the Bro-Code” Stars!
Sexy, Sweet, Angsty and Fun!

The Review:
The set up... Dylan is in love with her brothers best friend, Cameron Richards, and has been since she was a little girl. So she decides to give up her V-card when he finally takes notice of her. It was a night of wonder and realization for both of them. Too bad he took off before the sheets cooled, leaving her broken hearted and vowing never to trust him again. Ten years later, he’s fighting for a second chance but he’s got to convince her he’s worth it this time.

This was a great story. It was short, fast paced, angsty, fun and sexy-steamy. I’m a sucker for reconnection stories where childhood friends become more, only to lose that love, but come together years later and realize it’s all still there and they never really got over the other one. Add in some spicy sex scenes and passionate characters and you’ve got a HARD book to put down. This story was to short to flesh out any real character depth or layered plot lines but it didn’t need all those trimmings to get it’s point across. Could it have been longer? Absolutely! But as it is, it’s the perfect length to read in one short setting and it left me with a smile on my face.

If you like ‘em quick and dirty, this is a read I think you’ll enjoy. Total win!

This is a standalone erotic novella which tells the story of the second chance of Dylan and Cameron.

Dylan had always had a crush on her brother’s best friend Cameron but getting him to notice her was another matter. That is until that night when passion took over and he became the man that took her V card and her heart. When he left her afterwards, she was left with a yearning and an obstinate stance of avoiding him for the next decade.

Cameron has never forgiven himself for walking out on Dylan that night. At the time he thought he had reason in that he had broken the Bro code. But with time and experience on his side he realises he should have stood for what he wanted and what he wanted was Dylan. Now on a business deal, he is surprised to see Dylan is opposite him in the meeting and he feels he has a chance for her to be forced to acknowledge him and for him to make amends and maybe take off where they started all those years ago.

The cover and the blurb gave me the impression this would be a much grittier and dirtier read than it actually was. I would have preferred more in depth of the emotive side but this was held back in the overall feel of the book. If it had been a little longer then maybe this could have been explored plus throw in some much needed angst. However it was a short and raunchy read and easy to follow. I did enjoy it but left me wanting more. Three stars

This is a very short, very fast paced story about best friends, virginity and one night that turns into a ten year pile of hurt and anger.

Dylan is Cameron’s best friend’s little sister. One night back when they were teenagers turned into a night of giving Cameron the one thing she valued the most; her virginity. The night was beautiful. Dylan had been in love or so she thought with Cameron for her entire life. But then he was gone. No note, no nothing. Throughout the years Dylan avoided Cameron. The hardest times were at family gathering. Her family knew they had fought but didn’t know about what. Ten years later they are face to face and Dylan can no longer avoid him. Her job depends on this moment. Dylan wants closure and Cameron wants forgiveness and a second chance.

The story wasn’t bad its just not my cup of tea. I like depth to stories and the short reads like this don’t do the characters justice. There could have been more and to me it always seems like something is missing. However if you like a quick read then pick this one up.

I was gifted an ARC for an honest review.

I must say I was disappointed in this book.
Starting off Cameron sleeps with his best friends sister Dylan and then runs out on her before the night is over. She wakes up and is left feeling used. Fast forward 10 years later. Dylan is in New York to close a deal for her work and runs into Cameron again. He wants to tell her how sorry he is with how things ended 10 years ago. Dylan has been avoiding him since that night and he has never gotten a chance to express what happened and why he ran out on her. Dylan is shocked to see Cameron there.
This is the part where you lost me. Why would you go TEN YEARS avoiding someone and then the minute you see them you act like nothing happened. It's not realistic. Yes I know this is a work of fiction but if a week, month or maybe in a year had passed, I could see easy forgiveness. 10 years you're holding a grudge, feelings still hurt and you want revenge on a guy. The minute you see him and everything is fine and they take up where they left off with no problem. In my opinion it was a crap situation that was resolved to easily.
Don't waste your time or money getting this book.

This was a case where the cover and synopsis were promising, yet the story itself did not deliver. I was actually disappointed because it really could have been a good read.

Granted, it was a short story, but there was still a lot missing from the couple's character/relationship development...

*Cameron and Dylan have a history. It would have added to the story and convince me that they were special to one another if I had insight to their relationship in the past. There was no building up to their 'second chance love story'.

*The characters were to 'inside their heads' and there was barely any communication between the two. Too much inner dialogue and not enough relationship interaction.

*Forgiveness came WAY to early - I like when a character that has done wrong to redeem themselves to become worthy of love.

*The couple fell back into love too soon. There was no leading up to it - it was so instantaneous, I really did not get a sense that they were in love at all.

It could have been a really good story if there was more to the plot and character development.

I gave this book 4.5 stars!!!

This books starts off with a HOT scene, so you get hooked right off the bat. It is not a very long story, I felt it could have been longer and went into more detail, but that's just me. I read it in just a couple of hours. I found the storyline like many others but Ava throws in some twist to make it her own. Cameron and Dylan have off the charts chemistry and I love how he is willing to show her that he has grown up.

Dylan hasn't seen Cameron since the night he took her virginity, 10 years ago.

Cameron is kicking himself for leaving Dylan the way he did.

When these two come face to face on a business deal, can they have business and pleasure?

Ava I love how you kept me wanting more from these two. I can't wait to read more of your work.

Plain and simple it was a straight out book. It flowed well all the questions I had were answered. It was a short read. Both of the characters had great back stories. They're some flash back that shows what happened and how and why. I like that it got to the point without dragging it on for a couple chapter. Cameron is no longer the skinny frat guy. Now he is sex on a stick he even had me melting with all his sweet talk. Great lawyer at that. Dylan is still hurt after all these years. When he asks for a night she wants to get even. Try to hurt him as he did her all those years ago. Both of them know it always been more then that. Dylan was playing with fire will she get her revenge or lose her heart that night again? Will Cameron be finally forgiven and finally claim what he knows is his?

This is a short, fast paced story about second chances. Dylan is Cameron’s best friend’s little sister and she gave him her virginity. She loved him; he freaked and walked away and never looked back. Throughout the years Dylan avoided Cameron: “He’d disappeared and it had hurt so badly that I’d spent ten years avoiding him.” Ten years later they are face to face and Dylan can no longer avoid him. Dylan wants closure, or does she? Cameron wants forgiveness and a second chance; will Dylan give in and let him in? Things get hot and sparks fly. Will Dylan be able to walk away? This is a very sexy and steamy read. I read it in one sitting and thoroughly enjoyed it.

This book was extremely short. It really disappointed me. But I suppose that was my own fault. Although in my defense, it looked like a really good book and the blurb was good. In the end though, lesson learned again, (And probably forgotten with the next good looking book in a month or so), DON'T read short novels!

I've read every book so far from Ava Jackson and I just can't seem to get enough of her books. I have loved every book and I don't get bored, as a matter of fact, I want more from her!

This was a great book about a girl who falls for her brother's best friend. They hang out all the time when they're young and she seemed to be able to count on him when she needed someone and he was always there for her.

When they started college, Dylan decided to give her v-card to Cameron and she thought that they would become more of a couple, but Cameron freaked out because he was Dylan's brother's best friend and he thought he was going to be upset with him. How do you date your best friend's sister not knowing how the family is going to feel about it! I mean, Cameron practically lived with them, he was always with Dylan's brother and he just thought that they weren't going to approve of them being together.

After their first disastrous encounter, they don't see each other again for 10 years. When Dylan works hard and becomes an Associate at a prestigious firm she is assigned a case that has her travel from Dallas to New York and she runs into Cameron. Cameron happens to be the client's attorney that they are trying to acquire the business from. Dylan starts feeling her emotions and love coming on again for Cameron.

Cameron has always, always loved Dylan and when he finds out that she is going to try and acquire his client's business, he does the impossible to try and get to talk to Dylan again and apologize for their disastrous first encounter together.

Can Dylan forgive Cameron and get past what happened 10 years ago? Can she really just let it go and see where the future will take them?

Can Cameron convince Dylan that his love for her is real and he was young and immature when they first slept together, and now that he's grown and a successful lawyer, can he convince her that his love for her is real and always has been? He was always just afraid of what her family would think of him hooking up with Dylan but it seems like that wouldn't have been an issue. So basically their 10 years apart was for nothing because had they continued to be together back then, they probably would have still been together now.

But in life we never know what to expect especially when you're close to the other person's brother or sister. You always think that they will not approve and the last thing you want is to lose their friendship that you cherish with your life. So sometimes sacrifices are worth it even if it takes years to be with the one person you've always wanted and could never forget.

This was a fun, short and sweet read. I enjoyed every minute of this book and I enjoy every book from this author. I am going to continue reading her books as they always leave me with a smile when I'm done reading them.

Total 4.5 stars for this awesome read!

KIM'S REVIEW
4 STARS

I love second chance love stories. And that is exactly what this book is.

Do you remember who your first time was with? Do you remember if it was all you ever dreamed it would be?
Well...

Dylan gave her virginity up to the guy who held her heart. And he left her before she woke. She had no idea he'd be such a jerk. And it broke something in her.
For more years than she cared to think about she's avoided any possible chance of contact with the jerk.
Until Now.

Cameron Richmond is a well established lawyer in New York. He loves his work but his life is all about the job.
He knows he screwed up big time when he left Dylan after taking something that was more of a gift than he realized.
So many years has passed and all he wants to do is show her how sorry he is that he was such an ass.

When Dylan walks into the conference room and sits at the table across from him. Cameron knows that this is his chance.
Maybe his only chance to redeem himself.
Question is...Will Dylan give Cameron a chance to make it up to her? Or will she use this gift of an opportunity to hurt Cameron the way he hurt her?

Special dinners and hot, steamy sexy times make Hard For My Best Friends Sister and quick entertaining read.

CRISTINA'S REVIEW
3.5 STARS

Friends Cameron Richmond (best friend) and Dylan Sofia Butler (sister to best friend) had one night together that meant more for one than the other thanks to the morning after of waking up alone.

Years later they cross paths once again via an important business meeting and the memories from that night come flooding back but the question is was Dylan the only one that felt more from that event? As the story progresses one is seeking to get revenge and one is wanting to apologized leading us to see more of bigger picture between the two.

This 3.5 stars read was cliché but had a somewhat different approach to second chance at love. The idea of breaking the bro code did not fully peaked my interests and was hoping that there would have been a little more intense reasoning why Cameron had left besides the guilt; however, when they got another chance at being physically together the sparks were clearly present…thanks to the ten years of pent up devastation, and hostility. The balance of their story and the steamy encounters makes the sister and brother’s best friend situation one to check out.

Dylan has always been in love with Cameron, her brothers best friend. 10 years earlier she gave him her virginity and all hopes of a relationship with him were dashed when he walked away from her after the “deed” was done. Hurt and betrayed she spent the next ten years avoiding Cameron at all costs. That is until she has to do a deal with him and his client. But instead of acting like a wounded puppy, she decides to give Cameron a little taste of his own medicine. But what Dylan doesn’t know is that Cameron has been in love with her for the last ten years. I really loved this book, it flowed well and the characters were fun. It’s a short read and a standalone book!!

Dylan is amazing at her job, it is one of the things she has always been good at. When she walks in to a meeting and sees her brothers best friend Cameron will be representing the client her confidence wavers. The only thing that keeps her going is that she can't let him get to her ever again. What she doesn't expect for him to apologize and ask her out, she wants to say no but she has always had a weak spot for Cameron. She wonders if this will be a repeat of the night he shattered her heart or will he prove he has actually changed.

Cameron has always regretted walking out on Dylan, he never though it would lead to her permanently removing him from her life. He tries to make it up to her the few times he has seen her since then but she was an expert at avoiding him. When she walks into a meeting with him he makes it his mission to finally get her to hear what he has to say about his actions all those years ago, and confessing might just be what he needed to get her to take a chance on him again.

Cameron is a very appealing and likable character. From the beginning he admits that he made mistakes in his youth and he takes full responsibilities for them, while doing that he manages to display what he feels for Dylan and risks rejection to finally put himself out there like she did all those years ago. Its refreshing how hard he tried to get her to forgive him. He was also incredibly sweet and romantic. In other words he was the whole package.

Dylan is a strong woman, she just doesn't know it. She knows what she wants and she goes for it. I like how she never settles for less than she deserves. She also allows the time with Cameron to get a new perspective on her life which stops her from making a major life decision she might regret.

In my opinion you can't have a good story without great characters, and Dylan and Cameron were absolutely perfect. I also find that short stories tend to have incomplete endings and I am happy to say that this was not one of those stories. The ending was beautiful and left no doubt in the readers mind what the characters future plan is.

As someone who's read numerous romances between a girl and her brother's best friend I was immediately drawn to the premise of this book. I expected the usual issues to arise within the pages but Ms. Jackson set her romance apart with likable characters and a charming and straight-forward storyline. It's ultimately a story about forgiveness and second chances too with enough flashbacks to give depth to the characters and believability to their connection.

Cameron knew he did wrong the moment he slept with his best friend's sister. Instead of dealing with it head-on though, he ran. Ten years and he can run no longer and it's an awkward reunion he has with the girl he's never forgotten as this time around he vows to make her his permanently. Cameron was immensely appealing despite his earlier vanishing act. He's grown older and wiser and knows what he wants this time around. He won't waste time waiting for Dylan anymore and it's a sweet yet sexy onslaught he unleashes on her.

Dylan was once in love with Cameron which is why she was heartbroken when he left. Ten years later has her older and wiser too, along with fiery and strong-willed when focused on her career. Seeing Cameron again reawakens the feelings for him that she's kept buried but she won't be won over as easily this time around. Dylan was smart and confident and gave as good as she got when it came to their sensual tug of war.

Theirs is a connection that's crackling with sensual yet playful encounters. Their dialogue was fun and flirty and teeming with sexual tension. Neither of them obsessed over the past as they're clearly more focused on their future. There's no silly disagreements impeding their HEA either which was a refreshing change from these usual romantic entanglements. Ultimately this was a pleasant diversion over way too soon. From start to finish this was a charming yet decadently delightful read between two likable people and I commend Ms. Jackson on her entertaining storytelling!

Cameron was Dylan’s first, and Dylan was heartbroken when she woke up alone after giving her virginity to him. Following that heartbreaking experience, she did her best to steer clear of Cameron. Despite the fact that he is her brother’s best friend, and close to her family, she’s managed to do that for ten years. She’s no longer the wide-eyed young girl who was in love with her brother’s friend. Now, she’s a strong woman making a name for herself in the corporate world. I like Dylan, because she wasn’t completely a hard as nails corporate type, and that made her feel more real. Her nervous bathroom pep talk in the beginning was a great introduction to her. To me, her reactions to Cameron and his advances felt real.

Cameron is a sexy corporate lawyer now, and he knows he screwed up big time with Dylan. Unfortunately, she’s done such a good job of avoiding him that he’s never had a chance to make it up to her, or even apologize. That all changes when he finally finds a place she can’t avoid him. I liked how Cameron handled things with Dylan. At first, he did come off as kind of smug, but he turned out to be a nice guy, who wanted to make amends and regain the trust of the woman he’s never been able to forget.

This short little 4 star read is packed with a lot of sexual tension. Admittedly, there isn’t much in the way of obstacles for Cameron and Dylan to overcome. Still, I enjoyed this story, and felt satisfied with the happily ever after for these two.
