Luke Fraser was a journalist from Sydney – used to the city hustle and bustle; the immediate access to the nearest café for his morning coffee; the gym – he was certainly a city-boy at heart. When he decided to go to the little rural outback town of Bindarra Creek to do a story on the Reach for the Stars program which was run there for at risk children, he wasn’t sure how long he could stand being in a hick town in the back of beyond. But he thought he and his Porsche would be able to tough it o ...more

The Bindarra Creek series has been topping Amazon's 'western' or 'rural romance' charts in Australia since the series launched in July 2015. 13 authors are involved in the self-pubbed anthology, with a book releasing roughly each month, all writing romance set in the fictional town of Bindarra Creek in outback New South Wales. This is the 5th book and the second story I've read by Kerrie Paterson.
It's a very sweet romance between Stevie (single mum who runs a program helping troubled youth) and

What a wonderful story. I loved the fact that the hero and heroine put the time in to help young teenage boys come to terms with fears. The ending brought tears to my eyes.

This is such a feel good story that involves young boys who have behaviour problems and discover that they are not as bad as they thought. This is another story where the hero is keeping a secret from the heroine and could loss his chance at happiness. I really enjoyed this story I think because it was different.

Kerrie Paterson is a new voice in rural/small town romance and definitely an author to watch on your TBR list. I'm partial to a story that features at-risk teens because this is a passion of my own. Ms Patterson cleverly paints characters invested in an outdoor program that is more than a passion - it's personal. This secret millionaire trope is fresh, well written, heartwarming and genuine. I was quite happy to participate in this outdoor adventure from the comfort of my favourite reading spot. ...more

I loved the outdoorsy, adventure feel to this book. It’s beautifully written and the sweet romance is captivating. It has everything – danger, suspense, and action – and yet the underlying theme of helping those who need it most is heartwarming. A beautiful book, and a most worthy addition to the Bindarra Creek Romance series.
