If he can harness her ability—break through her walls—
She’ll be unstoppable.

Villain by Cheryl McIntyre:
How can you tell a hero from a villain?
If you’re Ember Willis and the villain is Lanely Frost, you can’t.
How can you tell a superhero from a delusional young woman?
If you’re Lanely Frost and the woman is Ember Willis, you don’t care.
For both, finding the balance between right and wrong and love and lust are not the only battles they’ll face.

Breaking Through- D. Nichole King
* I received an ARC in exchange for a honest review*

I am starting with my only negative comment and that is this ends in a cliffhanger. The full story is to come out in October, I believe. I normally would subtract a star for this but Ms. King had me so engrossed in the story that I never knew it was going to end the way it did. I can't wait to read the full story.

I am going to give as little of the story away as I can. Nautia and her classmates all have some kind of special powers. They are at a school that teaches them how to control them and how to use them for good. Nautia had a twin brother Nate that both shared the same power. However, Nate dies on a special mission and details of his death are classified. Nautia had great control and use of her powers until Nate died now she can't control her emotions or powers.

She is recruited by Captain Riley for a special mission. Possibly the one Nate died in. She only goes on this mission to find out what happened to him. In the process she starts to have feelings for Riley and him for her. The rest is to be continued.

Cat Love by Sunniva Dee
*I received an ARC of Beneath the Cape in exchange for a honest review.*

This is my second review for the book and it also ends in a cliffhanger. Not sure when the full book will be available. Aidan works in a mental hospital. He doesn't mind his work because he gets to use his special powers to help calm the staff and the patients. He usually is the best help at calming DR. Evils (not real name) patients. Dr. Evil's treatment of patients is old school at best, criminal at worst. Aidan meets a new patient Ulani and discovers her special power is that she can shift into a cat. Once she shifted Aidan took her home to his house where she has been living to help control the shifting. But crazy things are happening at the hospital, like patients go missing. Both Aiden and Ulani think Dr. Evil might be involved. They are about to figure out when the story ends.
Overall a good story and I would give it 4 stars for this story.

Villain by Cheryl McIntyre
*I received an ARC in exchange for a honest review*
I would give this story 5 stars.

Yea! This story does not end in a cliffhanger. Cheryl should get an extra star for that. Ember and Lanely meet in a chat room. Ember goes by Pyro and Lanely(Lane) goes by Frosty the Heartless. Both share some of their secrets in the chat room. Frosty thinks Pyro is special, attractive, and smart. He wants to meet but Pyro doesn't because she doesn't want to meet someone that knows about her life and special talent. They have been talking more than a year and Frosty is tired of waiting. A chance meeting brings Ember and Lane together. They form a relationship and both think the other one might be the one. Until Lane figures that Ember is Pyro. Ember ends things. She is focusing on her job helping the FBI. Another chance encounter brings what Lane does for a living front and center. It is a job she cannot accept. Till things go south and she needs Lanes help. Overall great story. Nice sweet ending.

Novella 4 just a good boy in a frat and a hurt girl with low self his hero stage is more a hero complex short stack loves comics and marvel and video games he don't fit in anywhere really. Rosco is the same as our hero but does things the other way mean and a jerk she gravitates to the losers the jerks can short stack make her see she is better then that. I love this story as I can see this happening for real how common this situation takes place

Novella 5 A bad gang three heroes One girl who still needs to find her powers and one boy that had the same powers help her unlock hers. He fights to not touch her because he could kill her. But The electricity they feel between each other might prove to be more than enough Wow loved this story

Lane fighting his own demons and keeping a promise he made to his mom . And Ember who just wants to move on from a brake up. Some people say winters wrath is a villain some say hero but I guess you will have to make your choice.

Yeah, I'm one of the contributing authors in this anthology, but I gotta tell you, every story in this anthology is spectacular!

Laura Thalassa starts the ride for us with an action-packed, superhero-super villain story. This comes complete with original hero/villain names and super suits. Marvel needs to hire her for their next hit series--and it might be this one! But along with the action, there's a brewing romance, and one you won't want to miss!

Sunniva Dee slides in with the second story. One written strictly from the superhero's POV. Aiden's power isn't flashy, nor does he wear a cape or a mask, but his ability to read emotions and soothe anxiety in others makes his supersweet hero one you want to hug. They say "nice guys finish last," but that's not the case with Aiden. And when he meets a cat girl with an attitude, he has his work cut out for him. (Full novel will be available in October)

The third story was a tag-team effort by Lynn Vroman and Angela McPherson. And oh, the beautiful poetic writing! Gypsy Love is exactly what the title suggests. A two hundred year curse turns the bitter Adrian into, well, a not so nice ghost. To get his revenge, he has promised himself to make the Kotorara family's lives as miserable as he can. Until he finds Mia, and Mia's the only one who might be able to break the curse.

Magan Vernon switches gears in the fourth story, "The Only Difference." Because not all heroes wear capes and skin-tight uniforms. Some come in the form of nice guys who swoop in to save people from themselves. "Short Stack" didn't set out to become a hero. No, he saw a girl who needed him and greatness followed. This story reminds us that sometimes the simplest acts of kindness can make the biggest difference.

"Heroes" by Christine Zolendz has the fifth spot, and Christine doesn't disappoint. There's a mystery in this gang-infested college town. Students and residents alike are constantly watching their backs. Kelly knows all too well the danger the gangs impose in the town, because she serves them at the bar she works at. She's also the new assistant to the handsome Professor Alexander Masters. And Alexander Masters has a secret life.

The sixth story, "Breaking Through" is mine, so I'll skip writing a review for my own book. However the full novel will be available in October 2015.

The last spot belongs to "Villains" by Cheryl McIntyre. And if you've read any of Cheryl's books, you know what to expect--chemistry, angst, HOTNESS. Ember knows when people are lying, which is how she got her job working for the FBI. Lane Frost works for...well, he's not at liberty to say; it's not exactly legal. Yet Ember is intrigued. Everyone lies. Everyone except Lane Frost, and there's something about his honesty that draws her in. Still, trusting him doesn't come easy. Especially not when she learns who he really is.

This anthology is only available until October 1, 2015, and every author-earned dime goes to benefit the Wounded Warrior Project, so make sure to get your copy NOW for just .99!!

"Cat Love" by Sunniva Dee

I will say I didn’t realise when I started reading Cat Love, it was going to end on a cliffhanger. However, I was pleased to discover that the wait to read the full book wasn’t going to be too long. I enjoyed this first part of Aidan and Ulani’s story. It was an easy read with some elements that kept the story interesting. I enjoyed the story and need to know how it all plays out.

Villain by Cheryl McIntyre

I really enjoy this one and was slightly disappointed that it was one of the novellas in this anthology that didn’t end in a cliffhanger as I could have happily read a full book about Ember and Lane.

It's been a while since I've read a Cheryl McIntyre book and when I saw her name on the list of authors’ I knew I would be reading her contribution to the book. I'm glad I did as I thought it was fantastic, I liked the action, the pace of the story and the connection between Amber and Lane who were great Characters. The quotes at the start of each chapter were fun too.

**ARC provided by Laura Thalassa for an honest review. **
This anthology was totally bad ass! 7 awesome stories to enjoy without reserve!
I’ve read all the stories, and I loved them all, I couldn’t pick a favorite. This reading was so fluid, taking into places, where superhero and villains, whenever they are, with superpowers, or not, risking their lives, fight, conquers, win but find love in the way.
I was captivated and couldn’t put it down. I was so drawn into each stories, so willing to read what the next author would get us into, what’s going to happen. I wasn’t disappointed at all!
Reaping Angels by Laura Thalassa:

Reaping Angels teaser What happened when a villain on a mission falls for a superhero?
Some kidnapping and stalking, a manhunt a lot of sexual tension and a hell of chemistry!A story with no time out, catchy and punchy.
I have to admit, I was sold from the first story, about Angel (the superhero) and X (the villain), two opposites, mortal enemies. Her touch can heal, his can bruise and makes people die.
I really loved the mood, it was quirky, funny, with a lot of action and some great characters. The author created a great atmosphere here.
Reading how the two of them connected, and that’s the world isn’t just black and white, and that sometimes lines are blurred when it comes to love.
Cat Love by Sunniva Dee:

Falling for Kitten teaser Cat Love This is the story a woman (Ulani) who can shift into a cat and a very emphatic man (Aidan), who’s ability is to stabilize minds in a Hospital , decided to unite their powers to resolve the dispeareance of patients.
When it comes to Sunniva Dee, you know for sure that you’re gonna be into a sexy, erotic and so sensual story!
There’s some part of mystery here, from the moment when Ulani, is caught and deposited in Aidan’s care, to the moment where patients were missing.
Once again, two opposites; Ulani is struggling with her ability to shift, directed with her feline side, primal, and so intruiguing to Aidan; who is unlike her, always in control.
His obsession for her grows throughout the story, with an intense level of sexual tension.
The mystery isn’t solved completely and there is a cliffhanger! So stay tuned!

Gypsy Love by Angela McPherson & Lynn Vroman:

Gypsy Love teaser This story was just mind-blowing, so romantic and warmed my heart!
A beautiful love story tale, between Mia and Adrian, reunited by a Gypsy curse. Trust me, get ready for a incredible love defying time and space.
The only way to Mia to be with the man she loves (Aidan) is in her dreams, because our hero here was cursed 200 years ago for being a little bit too volatile.
Since all this time, he lived to haunt the family of the one who put him into this misery, with his routine, to seek revenge on them about the curse. One day, he was taken aback by Mia’s beauty, and her ability to sense him, when no one does.
But to be together, « One love must end for another to begin », how she curse could be broken?
The path to their uncertain future is full of obstacles, be prepared to get emotional here, the story was so surprising, oh la la THE FEELS! And a cliffhanger!

The Only Difference by Magan Vernon:

The Only Difference teaser I was so swooning over Leonel, a guy so endearing and touching, who tried to save a girl Betsy, one night from one of his Frat brothers.
This one was so sweet, full of good vibes. Leonel, was so different from his frat brothers, a little shy with the girls, reading comics, trying to be the good guy, but wasn’t noticed by the girls. Oh my, I really loved him, especially when he became to stand against some of his brothers, and fight for doing the right thing! He’s definitely a keeper!
Betsy has her reputation, and she knows that she had some leverage on him, that he was attracted to her. This girl was so lost and making some bad decisions.
When Leonel came to her rescue several times, she tried to push him away, but this sweet and so caring guy was going to get her. Hopefully nice guys can get the beautiful girl!

Heroes by Christine Zolendz:

Heroes teaser The story of Kelly Black and Alexander Master was electrifying, so sensual with a lot of action!
I was so captivated by the interaction between these two, where sparks ignited everywhere.
I was caught by surprise here and wasn’t expecting this plot!
Kelly is the assistant of Alexander, who leads the entire Biology Department. She had a crush on this guy, physically but definitely impressed by his career.
Oh my, Alexander, was such a mysterious, intriguing and so mesmerizing man. Damn, the way he looks at Kelly was so hot and intense. Just WOW!
They can’t deny their attraction, like magnets, but our « hero » here is not what he seemed to be!Let’s just say that after these revelations about him and Kelly’s parents, I was still amazed by the upcoming events, in a good way!
So, mix a witty and beautiful woman, a mysterious, handsome and too intense guy, a shitty town with a lot of villains, some heroes, superpowers and we’re all set!

Breaking Through by D. Nichole King:

Breaking Through teaser What a great story again! This story will kick your ass!
A young girl, Nautia, has the ability to manipulate water was a student in a special school, where people with superpowers were trained to be recruited as intel. Her twin brother died on a mission and since that moment, she blocked out her abilities, and was like a bomb ready to explode at any moment.
She was hired on a special operation with some other students, under the command of Captain Riley Barton.
I have a spot for guys with a uniform, and this one was no exception! He was the epitome of the hero, he wanted to save people. This mission was very risky and having Nautia, totally unstable could put everyone in danger. At first, he wanted to break her walls to save this mission, but it became so much more, he was falling for her, by this this girl so tough and vulnerable at the same time, prisoner of her feelings .
But she had to control her power, and Riley was the key to it but also about her brother’s death.
This story was so powerful, a wave of emotions who’s gonna challenge you! Cliffhanger again, so you’ll have to be patient! I’m sure it’s gonna be worth the wait!

Villain by Cheryl McIntyre:

Villain teaser I was hooked by this one! What is limit of a hero, or a villain? How can you define them?
Ember Willis and Lanely Frost, two opposites, with original names, were not destined to meet … in person.
Both were chatting for more than a year and never meet, as Pyro and Frosty the Heartless, a place where they bared their souls and shared their secrets. Like talking to someone behind a computer was so much easier to someone you knew. Their banter was really funny, sassy and so flirty!
They both have some abilities of their own, some secrets under their sleeve.
A chance meeting brings them together, and it was like they clicked. Ember was always the girl in control and she wanted to release the naughty side, not being the good girl. Lanely, such a bad boy; confident and devastatingly handsome, struggling with his alter ego, seeking revenge.
They didn’t know who they really were and for the first time, Lanely was connected to someone, and he didn’t want to let her slipped through his fingers.
It was very interesting to see how love could change Lanely, from the villain he was, but he was on a mission. The line between right and wrong, and heroes and villains was blurred.
Thanks, there was no cliffhanger and a HEA!

Of course, this anthology deserved more than 5 stars! These authors rocked the boat for a good cause. I’m telling you it was so worth the read, through stories that will make you smile, swoon, experience the lives of these heroes and villains, beneath the cape!
For the first time, I wasn’t bothered by the cliffhangers, that’s means a lot to me!
Get ready for some bad ass action! High five ladies!

I received an Advanced Reader Copy in exchange for an honest review.

This anthology is freaking fantastic!!

"Beneath the Cape" is a wonderful celebration of all types of superheroes from all walks of life. Some of the heroes were very obvious (decked out in superhero garb) and others not so much.

All of the authors in this anthology are strong writers with a proven history of intriguing books populated with great characters. This collection doesn’t disappoint. It’s probably rare to like every story in an anthology. I can honestly say I loved all the stories even the cliffhangers–my only complaint about the collection! I’ve contacted the authors who didn’t have a completed story. Those stories are going to be released as novels. Trust me, you’ll be happy to re-read the details!

The seven stories in the collection are unique and thought provoking. The variety of characters is the best part of the anthology. They are all well-developed and very interesting.

Laura Thalassa wrote "Reaping Angels". It was a compelling tale about the power of touch. Just one touch can heal, kill or transform a person. Her characters are strong and complex. I just loved Angel and X.

"Cat Love" by Sunniva Dee provided readers with a male protagonist overly concerned with self-control and an intoxicating female shapeshifter. I honestly couldn’t put the story down.

Authors Angela McPherson and Lynn Vroman teamed up with a unique gypsy tale. "Gypsy Love" was a modern take on the movie “Ghost”. I loved Adrian! He’ll make you want to hurt the gypsy he crossed.

I had never read anything by Magan Vernon. I'm sure I'll be looking for more by this author. I enjoyed "The Only Difference". It was a sweet story about a good guy as hero. Short Stack and Cali were very memorable. Vernon reminds readers that heroes come in all shapes and sizes with all types of strengths. Powerful!

Another new author for me is Christine Zolendz. "Heroes" gave readers a strong and very capable character in Kelly Black.

Author D. Nichole King's "Breaking Through" was an interesting story with a unique plot and amazing characters. I loved Nautica, Riley and Kray. Their roles were so clearly defined along with their strengths and weaknesses.

And, finally Cheryl McIntyre's "Villain" gave readers an ingeniously crafted story. I absolutely loved how each chapter in her novella started with a quote from a superhero. Her characters were fantastic…a superhero and an anti-villain. Genius!

"Beneath the Cape’s" greatest strength is the subtle reminder that superheroes walk amongst us. Everyday brave men and women protect our country, our rights and our freedoms with no regard to their own safety. They return to our country in all types of conditions. It is up to citizens to do their part and say thank you for their service. Purchasing your copy of Beneath the Cape is such a small action. Proceeds will go to the Wounded Warrior Project.

One of the great things about this anthology is that there's a story for everyone who enjoys romance and superheroes.

In Reaping Angels you have a superhero and villain falling in love amongst kidnappings and threats. It reminded me of the classic comic book superheroes. I liked that.

In Cat Love Aidan was a self controlled man who was falling in love with Ulani, a sexy cat-woman while trying to help her control her superpower. The story was told solely in Aidan's point of view and considering Aidan's superpower I think that worked very well. And Ulani...I loved her. Normally if I latch onto a character and really enjoyed reading about them, it's the male lead. He wins me over with his charming attitude or annoys me with his disrespect. While I loved Aidan, he's a great character and narrator, Ulani was my favorite. She completely won me over. She was the perfect blend of human and cat. She was seductive, fierce, and untamed. She could be moody, but it was endearing to me. She had a bit of vulnerability to her. I cheered for her as she began to gain control of her superpower. She's exactly what I wanted and I can't wait for Cat Love part 2.

Gypsy Love had Adrian, a spirit that was unable to resist Mia, an ancestor of the woman who cursed him. But he could only be with her in her dreams.

In The Only Difference Leonel wasn't a superhero with powers he could use to save the day. He was an average, everyday guy who became a hero by standing up for what was right. He stood up for a girl who was being hurt and taken advantage of by another man and I liked that it showed you don't have to have supernatural abilities to make a difference in someone's life.

In Heroes Kelly experienced a serious crush on Alexander. As Alexander and her relationship progressed to more than head of the department and teaching assistant secrets are revealed and revelations occurred.

Breaking Through was an interesting story about Nautia, an aquator, having a hard time controlling her powers and Riley, who was trying to help her learn to control them while training her and a small team of people with supernatural powers, for a dangerous mission. I liked how we got to see how helpful her power could be and also how destructive. I enjoyed the other teammates and their interactions with her. I look forward to reading more about Nautia and how she gets control of her powers.

Villain was great. I liked how blunt and honest Lane was and I loved how Ember interacted with him. They had a great back and forth going. They made a good pair and really changed each other's lives for the better. I liked how Ember questioned whether Winter's Wrath was really a hero or a villain. Can someone be called a hero when they murder someone, even if that person was a criminal who had kidnapped and harmed women?

Each story has something unique to offer and I think each reader, no matter their differing tastes, will find a story to like in this anthology.

When I was asked to review Beneath The Cape, I didn't know much about it other than it was an anthology about heroes and villains, of the super kind and it was put together by 8 best selling authors for the sole purpose of celebrating our real life heroes, with the proceeds of the sales being donated to the Wounded Warrior Project. A very worthy cause indeed.
I didn't read any of the blurbs for the stories and went in blind. And oh boy, what a treat I got. I absolutely loved these stories, as a fan of all things Marvel this was right up my street. Sparkly suits, capes, hot heroes, sassy superchicks, leathers, villains, tricky situations only a superhero could get out of, shifters, did I mention hot heroes?...I was in my element!

Usually in an anthology there is at least one that you're not keen on. You know, a bit like a box of chocolates? You have your favourites that you keep until last, to savour and you have the ones you're not keen on, the ones you get out of the way first. BUT, this collection of stories is like my absolute favourite box of chocolates, with every one being as good, if not better than the last and very more-ish.

Each story is jam-packed with thrilling, tense and gripping drama, with some ending in nail biting cliff hangers where I shouted at my kindle 'NOOO! You can't leave it there!!' There is also plenty of heat and passion to set your pulses racing courtesy of sassy, kick-ass Superchicks & sexy, brooding hot Supermen which make you almost wish to be tied to the proverbial train track just to be rescued by one of them. Or is that just me?

I won't mention all of the stories by name but I have to admit one of them, which really touched me, reminded me a little of two of my favourite films, Ghost and Somewhere In Time *sighs*(remember that one with Christopher Reeve? He'll always be MY Superman).
I also found myself rooting for the villain in another, the minute he appeared on the scene. Must be my love of a bad boy! Man, was he HOT!!

All in all, this is a fantastic set of Marvel-esque stories for grown-ups from a group of best selling authors, some of whom I have just discovered and will be now stalking in the future. I loved each and every one and can't wait to sink my teeth into their respective follow-ups.

If, like me, you are a fan of Superheroes and all things Marvel then this is the perfect read for you, go 1-click now. I can't recommend Beneath The Cape highly enough.

Nicole @ Nic's Novel Idea

Beneath the Cape is literally one of the best anthologies I've had the pleasure to read and what self-confessed Marvel expert and X-Men enthusiast wouldn't love the chance to read an eclectic and terrifically well written set of books based on heroes, superheroes and sexy evil villains (thank you Tom Hiddleston for making bad looks so good).

What was fantastic about Beneath the Cape is that each and every story is completely remarkable and utterly different, ranging from superheroes with amazing capabilities to an average college student who happens to be the sweetest and most heroic down to earth guy around. There are several in particular that stood out with me for not only having a brilliant and fairly original storyline but that were also able to capitalise on the sexual tension, action, mystery and suspense- combining it all together to create a story that blew my socks off and I'm looking at you Christine Zolendz. Her story Heroes, manages to be intriguing, steamy and romantic with some incredibly funny dialogue.

'"You're not being graphic enough. I'm still imagining how soft your skin would feel like under my fingertips," he breathes heavily.
"Those bugs that crawl out of the drain? With all those legs," I say.
"Yeah, you say legs and I'm picturing yours wrapped around..."
"How about an invigorating conversation about the study of cell fusion and..." I say, cutting his wonderful idea off.
"Now you're just trying to make me fall in love with you," he interrupts, smiling.

There were a couple of stories that I would have loved an epilogue or something to give me a bit more satisfaction towards the end or a glimpse of the future but that was the only small flaw in the catalogue of fantastic books. Angela McPherson, Cheryl McIntyre, Christine Zolendz, D. Nichole King, Laura Thalassa, Lynn Vroman, Magan Vernon and Sunniva Dee are their own unique brand of Author Avenger's. They've each taken their individual artistic talents and teamed up to bring us an anthology that will keep you reading for hours and never get bored as well as doing something great for mankind. Proceeds from their hard work and marvellous imagery all goes towards The Wounded Warrior project so why not do your bit as well; you get sixteen hours of hot tempting heroes and fierce intelligent heroines plus you donate to a worthwhile cause.

Before I started this anthology I was very sceptical about how I would like it. I love movies about super heroes but I was worried I wouldn't like to read about their stories. But I can honestley say that I LOVED this whole anthology.I didn't expect that so I was really surprised...in the best way! Every short story is different but if I had to rate them all individually I would rate them between 4.5 and 5 stars.
They show us other sides of the superheroes and the villains and they teach us that not everything is black or white but that there are really many shades in between. This anthology shows us what's "beneath the cape". Superheroes and villians are just like "us" but to the normal problems they have other problems that we can't imagine.

I'm not going to do a review for every short story but for my two favorites which are "Reaping Angels" by Laura Thalassa and "Villain" by Cheryl McIntyre.

"Reaping Angels" by Laura Thalassa
This one took me by surprise I didn't thought I could love it as much as I did. A love between a superhero and a supervillain that will be challenged. I couldn't put it down and loved every second of it. It was the first story I read by Laura Thalassa but it definitely won't be the last one.

"Villain" by Cheryl McIntyre
I didn't even read the synopsis before starting this one because until now I loved everything I read by Cheryl McIntyre and this short story was no exception. I was hooked from the first page and loved it all. The quotes at the beginning of the chapters were one of the best things. I also highlighted a lot because it was just beautiful and I was feeling all the feels. At the end I couldn't believe it was over because I enjoed. I wanted to know more about Lane and Ember and they are still on my mind. One thing I absolutely loved about Ember was her ability because it wasn't one I knew before.

I would recommend this anthology to EVERYONE!Not just because the stories are nothing short than awesome but it's also created for the sole purpose of benefiting the Wounded Warrior Project...so in other word for non-fictional heroes.

What a fantastic collection of stories benefiting an amazing organization, the Wounded Warrior Project! Even if I wasn't familiar with any of the authors I would have picked this anthology up for that reason alone.

I was lucky enough to receive an arc of this book before it was released, and I have loved everyone of the stories. I was only familiar with a few of the authors at first, D. Nicole King, Cheryl McIntyre, and Sunniva Dee, but now that I've had a chance to read some of the other ones included, I am looking forward to checking out more of their works.

The stories in this collection are all so interesting and diverse. They are all about superheroes, but each superhero is quite different. Some are understated, you would never know that they had any type of superpower- they look and act like "regular" people. Others are your "typical" superhero- the cape, the costume, the powers, you know just by looking at them they are different!

I loved how we get to see "Beneath the Cape"- we get the superheroes in action, but also in real life, away from the cape and the costume, away from protecting their little corner of the world. We get to see their struggles, in life and in love; we see that other than their superpowers they have the same issues that us mere mortals do.

A few of the stories end on cliffhangers, but you know what? I'm not bothered by that at all! Because these authors did an awesome job of getting me invested in these characters. I want more of those stories. I want more of those characters. I want to know more about them, see what makes them tick, see what becomes of them. I'm excited that we will be getting all of that! I'm just not excited that I'll have to wait a few months...I want it all now!

Do yourself a favor. Do the Wounded Warrior Project a favor. Buy this book. Buy it for yourself. Buy it for a friend. You won't be disappointed.

This is simply an amazing anthology with a spectacular collection of stories written by some very talented authors. And you know what the best part of all is about this collection? The proceeds benefit the Wounded Warrior Project!

The stories in this anthology center on Superheroes and that is what the real men and women who fight every day are to us – the real heroes. They risk their lives for us – fight for our freedom – our HEROES. But this fight does not come without cost. The men and women fighting for our freedom, protecting us from harm, get hurt in battle, whether it’s physically or mentally. They are wounded and will forever carry around the scars and not really asking for anything in return. But we can all help in some way and I think it’s great that these eight authors bring it by providing us, the reader, with not only seven action-packed, sexy, entertaining stories, but by donating the proceeds to the men and women who have given so much to us.

The stories in this collection are unique and well worth the time and money invested. Each well-written story grabbed my attention and had me hooked. I even discovered some fantastic authors I had not previously read before. You can’t possibly go wrong by picking up this collection and know that you have helped someone that has helped you. This is a win-win deal any way you look at it and I would highly recommend this anthology to anyone, especially those who like science fiction/fantasy with a scorching hot touch of romance.

This Anthology was created by 8 authors coming together with the sole purpose of benefiting the Wounded Warrior Project, a charity focused on helping the men and women wounded in service and needing financial support.

So having said that on to my review...

I am not going to write about every individual story in this Anthology, as I think that every author's story that fills up this brilliant medley of Super Heroes and Villains needs to be read just knowing that each one has a very unique plotline, with addictive characters, whether some leave you on a cliff hanger (yes by that I mean hanging over the edge by your fingernails) others leave you where you should be (at the end). Either way at the end, or over the edge, each has taken you on an amazing Marvel type story-line with Heroes and Villains that get your heart pumping by their amazing abilities or just swooning from their leather suits and bulging muscles (oh and don't forget mean and moody).

I can honestly say I loved each story equally, and loved that each one was so different. I hated finishing one to start another but, starting the next I was hooked from the first page and so on till the very last story.

I am honoured to have been offered an ARC of this Anthology and to have found more authors to add to my never ending wish list. I will also be waiting for the releases of the stories that had cliff hangers, as I need to know how the story ends.

Now what are you waiting for go and 1 Click this now, you are not only getting all these amazing stories in one book, but also helping these awesome cause to help The Wounded Warrior Project.

I was lucky enough to receive the ARC in exchange for an honest review

I adore anthologies. They are a great way to discover new authors. When they also benefit a fantastic cause, well you just can't go wrong. Each story in this anthology is novella length, and they are all quite enjoyable. I read it on the lanai of our vacation rental in Grand Cayman. Perfect summer reading.

One thing I really liked was how different the stories were, and yet they all seemed to mesh together so well. I love a good hero, and I love to hate a good villain. Mix it all up and that's even better.

The first story pulled me in with the alternating first person viewpoints- I always enjoy seeing things from multiple perspectives. I loved Ulani, the kitten shifter, along with the thrilling mystery in Cat Love. The gypsy love curse in the third novella was intriguing, making the story a real page-turner. The Only Difference had a wonderful contemporary feel to it. Number five was electric- literally and figuratively :) Breaking Through ends with a cliffhanger- I really enjoyed the intriguing plot but wish I didn't have to wait for the rest of the story. Villain was character driven with great interactions between Ember and Lanely.

I highly recommend this anthology to everyone 18+ (some of the stories contain adult material). The variety of plots and characters keep the pages turning. Not to mention, all of the novellas are fast-paced and rather difficult to put down.

My Review: (ARC provided)

*Five I love this collection stars!*

Wow, what a great concept and wonderful way to help support the Wounded Warrior Project. Who doesn't love a hero? Every story in this book is distinct in it's own way. And some of the stories definitely leave you wanting more. In fact I'm anxious now to see where they are going to go. Some of them were darker, some were magical, some were suspenseful, some were hot and filled with sexual tension and some were sweet, but all had that hero vs.villain idea. It made you think sometimes the bad guys aren't always "bad" but maybe just misunderstood. I'm not going to go into an individual review for each book but know that you won't be disappointed in this anthology, these authors are amazing and do a wonderful job at bringing you new and imaginative stories. I think you will fall in love with the characters whether they be the hero/heroine's or villains, and some of these stories will blow your mind. I'm so excited to help support this project and feel honored to have been able to read and review it.

I highly recommend purchasing this book, you get to help benefit the Wounded Warriors as well as get some quality reading in. What could be better than that?

Anthologies can be tricky to review, given that there is often one or more stories which the reader will find less enjoyable, for whatever reason. As a result, the review mark given to such collections is, in my case at least, averaged out over the stories.

I am pleased to report that with this collection of stories, there is no weakest link; no filler. This is most definitely an eminently enjoyable romp through each author’s idea of what makes a hero.

With such a variety of authors, each of the stories has a different feel; a different voice; a different pull for the reader. But I found that each was delightfully different in a way which kept my interest firmly fixed on the virtual pages of my e-reader.

I enjoyed the connection created not only between the characters, but also between the characters and the readers. The pacing was consistently good, and the action was, where appropriate, deftly described and tense.

This is a great addition to your library. My only issue with this collection? I want more.

Manda's 5 Star Review

What a truly amazing anthology by an amazingly talented group of authors!! I absolutely loved every story in this anthology. I have my favorites of course and then those that left me wanting more but every one of these stories brought something special to the table. From true super heroes to everyday heroes, this is just an amazing read. I have been a fan of some of these authors for a long time and some of them I had never heard of before, but after reading this I will definitely be keeping a close eye on all of these talented authors. This is one of those books you don't want to miss out on. I wasn't a huge fan of superhero books prior to this but I think I have been missing out!! Congratulations to every one of these authors on their amazing work and how wonderful that this was created with the sole purpose of benefiting the Wounded Warrior Project. This will definitely be one of those books I tell everyone about!!

Loved it! I love that this book benefits the Wounded Warrior Project!

I loved all the stories I read in this book. There was great diversity in each story. Once I started reading I could not stop! This book introduced me to some new authors that I will be looking for their next new release and checking out their previous books! Who doesn't love great Superhero's and even Villians? This book had action, romance, suspense and heartbreak. It had it all and still left me needing more! You will not be disappointed in reading this, it will just leave you wanting more! Kudos to all the authors who made this a great read!

I will say that overall I enjoyed the stories. It is interesting to see the shape of hero through the eyes of all these different authors. Some are typical superheroes, some are ordinary people who are capable of accomplishing seemingly ordinary things, but they change someone else’ world. I think this is an amazing idea, and I bought the book because it supports a great cause. This is only available for a short time, so I would suggest highly that you buy this book too.

I got this ARC from Sunniva Dee for an honest review.
I would have to say all the stories were amazing. The way they kept you on the edge of your seat was nice. Some of the stories had cliffhangers, while some were ended in conclusions that left nothing to question.
I loved that these authors got together for a great cause and came up with these great stories. I would have anyone and everyone read these stories, not just for the great cause but for the amazing tales! The superhero aspects was great also!

I loved Reaping Angels by Laura Thalassa! I really like the world she created & am hoping that we'll see more of it in full length novels... Pretty please? She just made such a fun dialogue between the main characters that you can't help but want to know more about their world & how their stories go. Loved the ending & can't wait for more from this talented author. This was a fun read you won't regret buying.

This is a great group of stories from amazing and talented authors. The stories were fun, crazy, sexy, out of the box kind of stories that sucked you in. My only complaint is that most end with a cliffhanger. I HATE cliffhangers, but I'm really looking forward to reading more of these stories. They were creative and I really enjoyed them. I can't wait to see how they end...This is a great book for a great cause!

This review is for Gypsy Love by Angela Mcpherson and Lynn Vroman. This is such a creative twist on a love story. You definitely won't expect what happens at the end!! These are two talented writers that when combined makes an even more amazing story! I hope they expand this into bigger book! I can't wait to see what happens next!

I was very lucky to receive an ARC of this amazing book! I wanted to be fair to the authors so I reviewed each story individually. So here it goes.

Reaping Angels by Laura Thalassa
I don't remember the last time I read an actual superhero story. Angel is a great superhero and X is a great super villain. For a short story there is a lot of action packed in. Great storyline that never really slowed and kept me wanting to read more.

Cat Love PT. 1: Super by Sunniva Dee
A cliffhanger?!?! Between the cliffhanger and the sexual tension, I can't wait for the full book to come out! Ulan is a vibrant woman and Widen is her perfect match. It's fiery attitude meets calm composure. I loved every moment of this story!

Gypsy Love by Angela McPherson and Lynn Vroman
Another type of story I'm not used to reading. I thought it was going to be weird with the whole ghost/human relations, but I was wrong. And. I'm glad I was. I loved the background given in the beginning. The story is great and I would love to read more.

The Only Difference by Magana Vernon
This story is great! It's a different kind of hero story dealing with ordinary, everyday people. College kids who come from home lives that weren't so great and how they deal with their problems in everyday life. Rico and Short Stack come from the same kind of home life, but have handled their problems in very different ways. I would love to see where this story goes.

Heroes by Christine Zolendz
Can I have more please?!?! This is a great story of people, that are more than human, trying to clean up a town run by gangsters. Alex and Kelly are great characters that are similar, but Alex has a hard time convincing Kelly just how similar they really are. Awesome short story and I can't wait for more.

Breaking Through by D. Nichole King
Love Riley and Nautia! Oh and Kray! All the characters in this story have their strengths and weaknesses. Nautia has one weakness that could endanger them all, but Riley and Kray seem to think they can help her break down the wall in her head. To break that wall could mean giving her full access to controlling her ability. This is a great story and I would love to read the rest of it!

Villain by Cheryl McIntyre
Ok...so this story started out a bit slow for me. I love the chat room chapters! It gives you a different perspective on the characters. Well... it did for me at least. Lane is a great, sexy guy who is kind of nerdy and Ember is his perfect match. They both have sides of themselves they hide form each other, but in the end everything works out the way it should. Another great story and another author I look forward to reading more from.

So there you have it. This is an AMAZING anthology that I think everybody should read! AND buying this great book helps support the Wounded Warrior Project.

Reading Anthologies are a great way to discover new authors. 6 of these authors are new to me, and I am so excited to read more from them!!

Each of these stories are completely different. Heroes come in many different shapes and forms and in these stories you get several varieties.
heroes ~ shifters ~ ghosts

In all honesty I had no clue what I was getting myself into! Christine Zolendz is one of my favorite authors. She said she was writing a story for an anthology raising money for Wounded Warriors and I didn't hear or read any further. Sign me up, I said!
So when I started the first story and it was about actual villains vs superheros, I thought... oh.. duh....I get it... CAPE! hee hee

~Reaping Angels by Laura Thalassa~

This was my first read by Laura Thalassa and I loved it! This was the first in line and was about superheroes and villains!
It was cute and too funny, sexy and so entertaining!
I really loved it!

~Cat Love by Sunniva Dee~

This was my first time reading anything from Sunniva Dee.
This story has a bit of a mysterious touch to it and it also ends on a cliffy!
I liked how her human form resembled her feline form. Slinking and sashaying around!

~Gypsy Love by Angela McPherson & Lynn Vroman~

OMG this was my favorite!!! It is also my first read by both these authors.
I thought it was sunny, sexy, and EMOTIONAL! I cried!!!!
I absolutely loved it!!! I can not wait to read more!!!!
Although I was literally bawling on the last word, I was happy and satisfied. BUT, lucky for me, there's another 2 books to continue the story! I can't wait!

~The Only Difference by Magan Vernon~

This story was a very quick one and more of an everyday hero rather than an actual cape wearing one.

~Heroes by Christine Zolendz~

At first, this story started off pretty funny and with a student/teacher type feel. Then came the moment their electrifying chemistry hit and all the action happened!

~Breaking Through by D. Nichole King~

Breaking Through had me really intrigued! I was enjoying the easy going story with a hint of mystery and was really getting into it when I was hit with a cliffy!!! All i can say is... give me more please! I need to know what happens!!

~Villain by Cheryl McIntyre~

I enjoyed this read very much. I loved the funny, easy going banter between the two. Their chemistry was hot and it was an awesome little story.
