For some, the kitchen represents a sanctuary of the senses—a mergence of soul and sustenance that licks at the flesh while teasing the mind’s pleasure. To others, it’s but a steely hive of horror. And then there’s JESSICA AMES, a canned soup kind of girl in a land of haute cuisine whose aversion to culinary adventure once seemed all but incurable. But when she catches the eye of celebrity chef MARCO ADRIANO at a pretentious rooftop soiree, his uniquely sensual take on food whets an appetite that may just prove insatiable. If only they’d had more time…

International attorney, award-winning journalist and last of a modest raconteur bloodline, J.D. Lexx has been a storyteller for most of his life and a student of humanity for even longer. Perhaps it’s no wonder that he takes such pleasure in the subtle tease of the written word, in kindling curiosity with every shared tale, then daring the imagination to continue on beyond The End.

A traveler by nature, Lexx spends most of his time between the frenzied streets of New York and the slower pace of New Orleans’ Vieux Carré. When not exploring the sensual psyche through his writing, he can usually be found honing his skills in the kitchen or working alongside charitable organizations to promote literacy and tolerance— two causes not only reflected in his work, but forever dear to his heart.

TITLE: Food Lust
SERIES: (A Crimson Confession Book 1)
AUTHOR: JD Lexx
GENRE: Erotica | Romance
RELEASE DATE: August 22, 2015
MY RATING: 5 HOT STARS

Um, I can't believe I've waited this long to read this. I really love the sexual tension. Too many books in this genre go right to banging by page 2. There's this total build up that I find so effing hot. So effing hot...lol

 photo foodlust1_zpsobu2wuf5.jpg

Wow, really wow...I was blown away with this book, and the only thing I could complain about would be that it was not long enough. I would have gladly read more and more of Jessica and Marco's story.

What I loved- the intelligence. Lexx writes with such a flair- that aspect, for me was a definite turn on. Now, don't get me wrong- I love me a bad boy who cusses like a sailor- but the elegance (I had to find the right word there, and I do believe elegance is it) was such a great aspect. So refreshing.

I also loved the sexual tension. I loved how it was done subtly. And again, I need to digress..I love a hot and heavy, dirty, filthy sex scene...I do...But the subtle sexuality that just oozed off the pages- was so very much more effective than just giving away the goods. Hot, so hot..I think I may have actually squirmed a time or two- but shhhh, that was our secret.

And! I loved Jessica! I have a weird thing about female leads. I hate the 3W's (wishy washy weak females!) And our heroine was by no means any of those things.

To sum things up: This was a solid read. And I look forward to reading more of Lexx's work. *smiles

First let me just say JD is a word smith not surprising considering his background but damn. Food Lust triggers all of your senses. It’s erotic with out going overboard which is refreshing. Now just because I said that don’t think you’re not going to feel the heat because in JD’s kitchen he makes sure Marco knows is way around a kitchen.

Marco, as I’m sure you’ve guessed is JD’s leading man in Food Lust. He’s also a celebrity chef. On the flip side JD’s female lead Jessica, stays out of the kitchen except for the basics…mac and cheese. (My kinda girl if I didn’t know how to cook… Hell give me a good lobster mac & I’m all Marco’s).

Jessica meets Marco at a pretentious rooftop soiree her friend drags her too. Jess comes off a bit shy and she’s had a really shitty day by the time her friend Jane shows up on her down. While Jess has every right to be at this soiree, she’s not like the others in room and she truly doesn’t feel like she fits in, so when we meets a seemingly nice guys she thinks he just works for the hotel.

When Marco set’s his eyes on someone he’s not about to let her slip through his fingers. After a brief conversation he wants to know more about the woman he finds away from the others. So when it’s time for his “Chef’s Choice” he’s going to have her up close and as personal as possible in a room full of guest.

And let the chemistry ignite. As Marco teaches Jess to cook on stage you can feel the sexual tension that their proximity triggers. These two in a kitchen play, tease and excite each other. Not to mention their food comes out perfect. However after this encounter Jess is flustered and when Marco offers to sign his cookbook for her she lies and gives Jane’s name instead of her own.

Time passes, but the memory of that night plagues Jess so when she has the chance to meet Marco again she jumps on it. Thinking Marco doesn’t remember her she starts her own seduction and this time with no audience the kitchen explodes. JD takes their chemistry from a 8 or 10 at the beginning to a 15 or 20. Who knew cooking could stroke flames that hot. (I’m so concocting the wrong meals ;)) JD shines when he writes about the sensual side of the kitchen and trust me he as all you’re sense met by the time dinner is finished. You won’t want Jess and Marco to finish their exploration. And they never leave the kitchen.

You’ll never look at your kitchen the same way I know I won’t (if only I didn’t have a European kitchen… JD has made me want to return to the states!). Pull up a chair grab a glass of wine and join JD in the kitchen, you’ll be glad you did. Marco and Jess are waiting.

This book was my favorite of J.D. Lexx's first three. Call me anything you want to but I'm a traditionalist. I like stories that have the potential for a loving relationship intertwined with the sex. Love would be even better but in these modern times potential for love in the storyline is enough.

This was a delicious read (cliche, yes but so completely true). The cat and mouse between Jessica and Marco leaves you licking your lips in anticipation and honestly can't imagine cooking with a lover that scenes from Food Lust do not play out in your mind. Seasoned and sultry, eagerly await what else J.D. Lexx has in store for us.

I honestly didn't know what to expect when I started this book. I wanted a book by J.D. Lexx because I had heard a lot of good things about his writing. When I asked where I should start, I was given this as a suggestion. So I decided to start here. I'm glad I did.

This is the story of Jessica Ames and her quest to have just one more cooking lesson with Chef Marco Adriano.

Jessica ended up going to a high class cooking demonstration with her friend Jane after Jessica got stood up. Once they got to the rooftop event Jessica tried to get as far away from the high society of people that were in attendance. This is where she meets a very feisty Italian man who does stir an interest in her until he is taken away by what she thought were caterers. She didn't realize until it was too late that he was the Chef everyone had come to see.

Marco chooses Jessica to be his sous Chef for this event and continues their playful and provocative banter they started before he was interrupted and taken away. Jessica, who hates cooking, tries to stay a step ahead of this Chef throughout the evening but is failing miserably by getting more into their playful cooking lesson and even more into the Chef himself.

The evening ends without him knowing her name and begins her obsession with not only learning all of his recipes but with trying to win another lesson with Chef Marco.

The call finally calls comes. She gets the free lesson. She cannot wait for another chance to continue what they started months ago. She gets ready and goes to his home. And he shows no sign of recognition. She doesn't let that get her down though. Does is work? Will he remember? Will she be able to finish what was started on the rooftop? For those answers you'll have to read the book.

Between the witty and provocative dialog between these two characters and the sexual innuendos thrown about freely I was fully satisfied with this selection and I'm looking forward to reading more from this author. The last line in this book asks, "Now, who's hungry?" I can definitely say that I am. I am hungry to read more words from J.D. Lexx.

Summary:

What I loved:
I am still in awe over what I read. It wasn’t something that you read and just say it was great or it sucked. JD Lexx forces you to EXPERIENCE the story. A lot of us feel that food in itself holds its own sensuality. Combine food with sex, and you have explosive stories and squirm worthy thoughts entering your fantasies. JD has taken a very under used story line and breathed new life into it. His writing is intelligent, and he doesn’t shy away from using his vocabulary to describe the scenes between Jessica and Chef Marco. I don’t want to give too much away, but the humor, the dialogue, and the sex was all infused with eroticism unlike anything I have read before. The combination of sexual discovering between these two and food, really lends to the title.

What I didn’t like:
The length. If I am being honest, it was such an amazingly told story, I didn’t want it to end. Maybe we will see more of these two in the future.

Overall:
JD Lexx has gained a new fan. The bookworld is so saturated with erotic stories, but this breathed new life into erotica for me. I was so “over it” as they say having read the same type of stories over and over with small differences. Thank you JD for making me remember why I fell in love with this genre in the first place. I have seen some writers who write intelligently like you, but have allowed reviewers and what’s popular to get to them to the point they “dumb down” their styles. DO NOT LET THIS HAPPEN. The genre needs you.

Fans of food porn unite! FOOD LUST will whet your palate and have you drooling for more.

Nursing a King Kong sized crush on celebrity chef Marco Adriano, Jessica Ames is willing to gamble her hard earned money away each week just for the chance to take a private cooking lesson with him. She made the biggest mistake of her life when she had a hot hot hot encounter with him and didn't tell him her real name. Now she just wants another chance to spend some time with the erotic chef, learning just how sensual food can be.

Holy hot tamales, FOOD LUST is deeeeelicious! This is a shortie Crimson Confession story by Mr. Lexx and it packs a serious PUNCH! The words "subtle tease" are used in this book and that's exactly what this story is, a sensuous snapshot in time that tells the reader how simple ingredients and innate passion can create a masterpiece. In this case, Marco shares his recipes with his fans both to bring them together and to demonstrate his desires. This book is wicked sexy, even without full-blown intercourse being described. You know it's good when oral sex is just as good as the real thing.

Bottom Line: Pick this up if you're a fan of food-based romance, melodic prose and erotica, as FOOD LUST combines all three brilliantly. - See more at: http://www.theromancereviews.com/view...

As I read the title of this book my first thoughts were that this was going to be a story about food play. But it was so much more than that .
This was my first read by author JD Lexx and I wasn't quite sure what to expect, but I can safely say I wasn't disappointed !

Food Lust was a short delightful read that tickled my taste buds without any food passing my lips .The imagination is a wonderful thing and when you read this book the delightful images that your mind incurs will bring the meaning of food and cooking to a whole new level !

The sensual delights the mutual attraction surrounding both characters and food made me realise I needed to take more of an interest in the kitchen.
This was a love story waiting to happen .
The sexual tension, the teasing, had you turning the page waiting to see what came next, and even what was going to be delivered on the plate .

For the author JD Lexx .
My compliments to the Chef ! Your style of writing teased and seduced this food critic without even realising it .
Your erotic play on words, your play on food totally had me hooked. I sincerely hope this story comes with a sequel where maybe we can look forward to a taste of dessert . Bananas and cherries spring to mind for some unknown reason .

Well done I give this book 5 stars / cherries richly deserved .

3.5 stars for me

Jessica attends a cooking class hosted by famous Chef Adriano. Her expectations are low. Instead she finds something quite different.

"...in spite of his shameless provocation, he did it all with a certain flair - a tongue-in-cheek innocence and playful wink that spoon-fed the senses, lured sex back into the kitchen and single-handedly turned the apron and paring knife into cutting-edge foreplay".

This was entertaining as a short story and had a nice build up of sexual tension between the two main characters. This made for an interesting, sexy culinary experience as a reader.

"...random ingredients so routinely overlooked now tickled the senses with possibility, given life and context against a backdrop of raw sexuality".

I liked his style of writing and although, I would have liked a little more details and development at times, I reminded myself that this was a short story. Tease, tease.

Here I sit 2 days after finishing this book. I have still yet to decide whether the precise language or sensual scenes are what makes this the perfect book. JD Lexx has a way with words that most can never accomplish.

In the erotica genre there is a rigid dichotomy between clinical graphic sex and the exploration of intimacy and sensuality. JD Lexx set the bar high for those attempting to write the latter.
Food Lust takes you into the world of Jessica, a woman with a strong will and the fight to go after what she wants. There is such a strong chemistry between her and Chef Marco and if you pay close enough attention their innuendos will leave your breath hitched. This short read will have you hot and wanting by the time you come across the most epic epilogue I have ever read. Wow.

This is an absolute one-click and 5 star read.

Who knew that kitchen ingredients and tools could be so erotic and sensual. Wow! This is my first by JD that I have read and all I can say is that if that was my kitchen, all my meals would be burnt!
The innuendos that Jess and Marco use and the sensual actions taken with knives, leaves you breathless and wanton. The chemistry between the two is scorching hot! The book is so well written that you can visualize every movement and sensual touch that is happening. The book will make you crave seconds and thirds of course!
I give this book a 5 star read. It is a short novel that lures you in and takes you to an erotic romance that heightens your imagination. I look forward to reading more by JD in the future.

Food Lust was an extremely sensual experience for me. Many times you finish a book and say it leaves you thirsting for more, well believe me when I say it about this book because it sure has left me craving more. JD Lexx took a cooking lesson and made it into such an erotic experience using descriptions and metaphors in such a way that you experience all of the emotions right along with the characters. I am new to JD's writing style and must admit that I was not sure what exactly to expect when I first started this story, and to be honest…now I just cannot get enough. I really did love this little apéritif and am hoping that JD will have a full-length novel for us next time. He sure did make a fan out of me.

Again another good read. Lexx's stories are based around strong and descriptive writing. While I love the steamy sex of a Lexx novel, it's the character's quests to explore what is outside of their comfort zones to find pleasure beyond what they've experienced in the past. I love that Lexx created a recipe inspired by the characters and his epilogue (as always) is thoughtful and makes sexual desires seem limitless. I can't help but notice Lexx's personality in his work -a hard working lawyer, gorgeous descriptions of orchids, knowledge of food and love and sex -I think Lexx is brave to put so much of himself in his work. Highly recommended!

Sensually superior for the sophisticated palate

Having just finished MALEDICTION and being enthralled with his writing, I chose to read Food Lust, Book 1 of Crimson Confessions. I was not disappointed. JD Lexx has the ability to exude style, sophistication, a panache to erotica so often missing in the genre. There is a grace to his writing, an elegance to his words. His writing is to be savored like the finest wine. Food engages not just the sensation of taste, but also sight, smell and touch. JD uses all of these to create a sumptuous, sizzling and decadent story of the highest caliber of erotica. Thank you for sharing your gift with us, Mr. Lexx.

Well, what can I say? JD Lexx combined my two favourite things... Lexx's stories are based around strong and descriptive writing... So sensual and enticing on multiple levels, definitely left me wanting more... I loved the sexual tension, the touching and exploring.... We definitely need more of Marco and Jessica... They both worked so well together.... The tension and desire between the main characters was delicious. I would recommend everyone to have a bit of Marco. Well Done JD, I cannot wait to read more :)

After reading this book I have come to the conclusion I want to take a cooking class. Maybe one of Marco's if only that beautiful sensual man was real. Jessica and Marco have real chemistry that will melt your kindle. Usually I like to read sex in books I read but the foreplay was so hot and steamy that by the end of the book I could just imagine how explosive the sex was. I would love to read another book with Jessica and Marco in it. JD truly has a way with words and now has a new fan for life.

Thoroughly enjoyed this smart and sexy novella with all the fixings for a romantic comedy. This is such a well-written book by an author that completely understands the nuances of the English language and the cooking world. Considering this is a short story, there was a good plot with quite a few surprises. There was so much chemistry between the characters, I had to fan myself at some points. Looking forward to reading more from him.

Let me start off by saying that this is a quick read but will have you thinking of other things that could happen in the kitchen. I'm a foodie and LOVE to cook so the fact that this book was about food had me at hello... It is well written and will leave you imagination open to what could happen in YOUR very one kitchen.. I sure do know that this book has given me an idea or two!

Compared to the author's current Crimson Confession, Malediction, this former storyline is much thinner and lighter to read, and not at all as original or erotic. I was quite disappointed, but that could also hugely be due to personal taste and maybe the wrong expectations. The author has a lovely, engaged fanbase for a reason, and I'd always give another of his original books a go.
