Sometimes a lie is the only way to get to the truth. Rhal fa Adar—Ujal assassin—is a liar and Cara is more than ready to beat the truth out of him.

To Cara Marte, the Ujal are everyday average people—er, aliens—who occasionally grow fins and scales. They’re friends and colleagues, and mates? Cara knows she wants Rhal fa Adar—with his thick muscles, midnight black scales, and dark eyes. He always keeps her at arm’s length, sharing pleasure and nothing more. He wants her but refuses to mate her. When she discovers the reasons he told her are lies, she takes her battered heart to the Intergalactic Mating Agency. Her match is out there, and the agency promises to find him. But what if all she can imagine is a future with Rhal?

Rhal fa Adar is no one’s idea of a worthy mate. He sacrificed his soul for Ujal as the king’s secret assassin, and now he is one of the prince’s high guards. His tainted soul means he cannot have Cara and yet when Rhal discovers she’s gone to the Intergalactic Mating Agency to find a mate, he realizes he will not—cannot—lose her to another. Cara may hate him for his lies and breaking her heart, but he is a smart male and is sure he can put it together again. Eventually.

The only problem with Rhal’s plan? An evil from his past appears on Earth and shatters the tenuous bond they share. Now he prepares for the hardest battle of his life—the one for Cara.

Rhal is book three in The Ujal series. It’s a quick read.

I see that the books in The Ujal series where first published as parts and later put together into one book. I’m glad it’s one book. I have never been a fan of a book being sold as parts and wouldn’t buy a book that way.

One of the things I like about this series is the unique aliens. Each Ujal has it’s own unique coloring, traits, and characteristics.

Rhal was an emotional read from start to finish. Rhal’s past is not pleasant and hard to learn about. Cara was ok. I didn't like her nor did I not like her. As for the romance this couple ended up spending a lot of time apart either because they where upset with each other about something or someone in the Ujal nation was keeping them apart. We get more drama in this novel then in the other’s. I will say I really liked the surprise at the end with our heroine, Cara, getting something extra in their mating. I won’t tell you. You just have to read to find out.

Rhal was an emotional, fun, and enjoyable read.

Drama agotador y un alien al que me daban ganas de golpear en la cara!

Rhal de Erin Tate serie The Ujal libro 3

This has probably been my favorite in the Ujal series out of the first three. I'm ready to jump into the fourth book at this point. Even more plot, book was longer and I really liked Rhal!

Let me just say that these aren't very long books for someone who reads a lot. I finished each one in about an hour and a half. (I'm talking over the series.)

I do like these however! They are great if you want to take a step away from the normal para genre, or new adult. I found them fun, short reads. It's not often you read about Merpeople! (That's basically what I understand the Ujal to be.)

More drama than humor

This book was vastly different that the previous books in the series. It was a bit sadder and more drama-filled because of Rhal's childhood. But we still get the same possessive alpha Ujal. I cried a bit reading this book. I can't wait to read the next book.

WOWZA !!! SERIOUSLY SEXY AND COMPLETELY CAPTIVATING !!!
Rhal: The Complete Compilation - The Ujal Series
FIVE SERIOUSLY SEXY STARS *****
Oh my glory! Buckle up my lovelies cause here we go again! Erin Tate has dazzled us yet again with another addition to her hit Sci-Fi series, The Ujal, and what a deliciously delectable morsel it is! This book is entitled Rhal and is the offering in Tate's Ujal series. It was originally released in a series of five installments but never fret, the complete compilation of Books One through Five is now available to those of you who want the complete bundle. Wow! How thoughtful is that? Tate is always looking out for her readers and I am definitely a fan. I first became hooked on Tate's books when she published Vados, It was not only the first book in The Ujal Series but also her very first offering in the science fiction genre and so as they say, the rest is history and I've been obsessively addicted ever since. But I digress, so let's talk about Rhal. The story is original, imaginative, well developed, well executed, exciting, romantic, seductive with a little humor thrown in for good measure. Oh, and did I mention hot? Well, it's hot, hot, hot! The dialogue is smart, snappy, exceptionally well written and flows effortlessly. The characters, my favorite part, are captivating, fascinating, engaging, intriguing, endearing, sassy, sexy as sin and at times, laugh out loud funny. They come to life and jump off the pages while capturing your imagination and your heart. Tate expertly combines these elements into a science fiction masterpiece filled with adventure, suspense, romance and action, in and out of the sheets. Hubba! Hubba! After reading Erin's stories, I go to bed and dream of handsome, sexy aliens, and in this case, sexy aquatic aliens that can shift from beautiful scales and tail-fins to hunky muscles, skin and legs. Oh my! Sigh......If only they were real! Cara Marte is not only having a bad day, she's having a bad life. First, she falls head over heels in love with Mr Sexy On Legs, Rhal fa Adar, one of the Ujal warriors stationed at UST, the Ujal Station Tau, their land based station. And why is that bad you ask? Well, for one, Cara works at the the UST which is where Rhal works everyday training their recruits and soldiers so there's no way she can avoid him. Two, he outright lied to her face and admitted that he did it intentionally. What a jerk, albeit a handsome jerk! Three, he rejected her which in turn caused number four, a broken heart. Yep, her heart is not only broken, it's shattered beyond repair. He is such a jerk-wad, but still a handsome sexy one! So what does a girl do when she has a broken heart? She tells Principessa Rina, mate to Prince Tave, who has been her best friend since childhood. And wait for it....Rina not only convinces Cara to go to the Population Ministry, she accompanies Cara to the Population Ministry to submit an application to the Intergalactic Mating Agency to request a match for a mate. What? That's how Rina was matched with Prince Tave. Even if it was without Rina and Tave's knowledge, it still worked out well for them so why not for her, right? Wrong! She's always been that girl. You know, the one that everything bad happens to. Well, I can seriously sympathize because that girl has always been me! Anyway, back to the story, she is rejected! What the heck? How is that even possible? She's told she's unmatchable due to degenerative genetic material and their decision is final; no further petitions will be accepted. What does that even mean? Well, I guess we'll have to read the book to find out but I will say this.....Beautiful, sassy, curvaceous human woman with a lot of junk in her trunk who is hopelessly in love with a Ujal warrior and is broken hearted by his lies and rejection-check! Handsome, sexy, stubborn Ujal warrior/assassin who is in love with a human but to protect her, refuses to acknowledge her as his true mate (which she is, by the way!)-check! Oops, I may have let a little spoiler slip! Danger, drama, heartbreak, lies, deceit, betrayal, intrigue, a few surprising revelations and some very unexpected and surprising evil enemies with malevolent intentions-check! Heated attraction, fiery passion, a little humor, sweet romance and some steamy dreamy sex-you bet! That and a whole lot more and that's just the beginning, folks! Wow! As, I said earlier, buckle up my lovelies; here we go again! I love it! Fabulous entertainment and an awesome read! I can hardly wait to see what Tate dreams up for us next!

This story has recently been available as five separate parts and I was lucky enough to be able to read them. Personally I do prefer a whole book not one broken into a series but I fully realise that many readers just like to dip in now and again . Certainly as my first taste of the authors work it was a good way to see if I would enjoy reading more and if you want to be entertained and don't mind reading a very sexy story then perhaps this book and these unique Ujals might just tempt you too!
As for my thoughts on the story well it's one full of surprises and initially I wasn't that impressed by Cara as one minute she's madly in love and then the next she's off getting tested to find a new mate! Luckily something most definitely hits the fan and Rhal is dragged back into her life. Oh he is happy to be back but Cara needs a little convincing and boy is Rhal up for that job! Id like to say all runs smoothly from then on but no Rhal's past rears it's ugly head. I've decided that this author is an evil woman as she makes her characters suffer a whole lot more. Expect a wicked step mother, dire circumstances and yes a truly emotional ending.
A heroine who will do anything to save her man, a delicious growling possessive hero and as well as action tons of humour , what's not to love? If you enjoy escaping reality then this book will certainly deliver.
I was gifted a copy in exchange for an honest review

Wow. Rhal and Cara had some BIG hurdles to get past before they could claim their Happily Ever After. I mean, between the lying (to "protect" the one he loved) and the betrayal (also to protect, but without the sarcastic air quotes) they had A LOT of things to work through.

But alien matings wouldn't be alien matings if they didn't come with a large capacity for forgiveness. Well, I guess that's not true for all alien matings *looks pointedly at Tave's parents*, but...well, you know.

Anywho. Rhal and Cara. They have it rough. First the one thing, then another. Throw in Cara's slow transition to Ujal and things get even more complicated. Well, that and the appearance of some VERY unwanted people from Rhal's past. And a little danger. And Rhal being half-feral and stuff.

You know, the usual. In other words, GOOD TIMES.

I have liked this series for the most part so far - I like how creative the aliens traits are - It's rare to find a unique alien romance and this series is certainly that. Sadly, I did not care for this book at all. I think it was mostly because of Rhal. I just did not like his character. I basically found his character to be incredibly bland The hero and heroine in this read spent more time apart then together. One constantly seemed to be mad at the other one. Plus I found Rhal to be unromantic. There seemed to be lots of sex (which I normally love) but it still felt emotionless. I'm glad that the author released this as a complete book since I'm not a fan of serials, also another plus is that she offered at as kindleunlimited. At this point, Im not sure if I will continue this series.

So now you have the chance to read the whole set, so go and get your copy now. I am eagerly awaiting the next book in the Ujal called Erun which is being released this month.

What was that? I was reading this light and fun low angst series about mermen and then this?

Holy angsty darkness, Batman! Seriously Rhal did have a shit life and I don't blame him for having issues but he was just a complete d-bag.

This book was way darker that the previous books. It was also too angsty for me. I know lots of ya'll like no, LOVE angst -which is totally fine- but yeah I'm good without or as little as possible.

This book might make you angry but....you'll get over it. This book might make you angry because you see yourself in Cara. Admit it, we've all fallen for a broken man/boy/lover, and for all kinds of reasons. Cara didn't know his past when she fell in love with Rahl, and he kind of played her, knowing that he would never take it all the way to mating with her. He was an asshat. But he had feelings for her too, and he wanted her but didn't think he deserved her because of what he was raised to be. What I loved about this book was that Cara kept giving him chances, even though Rahl was not emotionally ready for them. Of course the story focuses on the main characters, but the secondary characters were interesting too. Otta and the King need to be set on fire and left for the rats to eat, but I'm not going to give the story away. Read this book, tell me that you don't agree with me and we'll fight about it.

No offense to my friends who loved the Rhal serial novellas, but I simply did not.

The hero, Rhal, has no charisma, whatsoever, and no appealing characteristics to explain the heroine's love for him. He began the story by telling a big lie to the heroine, and his behavior deteriorated from there.

The snarkiness of the females was so overdone that all of their dialogue seemed to be just plain, coarse rudeness.

The sex was explicit, but did not come across as particularly erotic. I skimmed over those parts hoping for some more story.

That I finished this is more a tribute to my OCD as a reader than an indicator of my desire to know anything more of these characters. The genre is not the problem. There are a number of campy sci-fi-erotica series that I have enjoyed, but this is not one of them.

Rhal (The Ujal Book 3)

Another Awesome job of storytelling by Kyle!! When an alien race of merpeople come to earth they do amazing things with the oceans of this world. Then proceed to make sure life is full of loving and caring mates who will do whatever they need to protect and love the people who mean the most to them.

Puzzled

I am reading this book series for the second time . I am still not sure of how they found the nanny who is the twin sister of the man who helped steal DNA and sell babies . Is there a book between four and five to explain this . Did I miss a book ??? They said her brother was dead but no mention of who the Ujal was that was involved with him , or how they found him . Since the nanny is a vital part of book 5 I would like to see this connected .

I think I like Rhal best of all

The Ujal present themselves as superior to the humans. Here we see the chunks in the armor of their beliefs. Like every society they have cruelty, abusers, and racism. In this book, the Ujal become a race I can appreciate. Before they remained cold, stiff characters.

Oh my gosh!!!!

This book is my favorite! I loved Rhal. He is the ultimate badass alpha male. Cara is the only one who can save him. It was a bumpy ride and I darn near cried at one part. I mean my heart literally hurt for Cara....that is good story telling. This is a must read! I would read these books in order.

Overcoming The Past

Rhal had grown up after his mother passed - alone and abused by the very people who was supposed to care and Love him. Abused by a King who had him trained as a killer from the age of six. What would one do to protect the one who brings love into his life. Which is what happened when Cars met standoffish Rhal.

Not as good as the second book

Felt the couple had a whole pre book relationship and in the book they were apart more than together. I will look into the next one but I am losing interest.
