A cute little book my grandma gifted me- full of cat pictures and quotes about taking time to rest!

Stephen Baker's little bit of wisdom in this book certainly rings true. His contribution is 'Kittens are born with their eyes shut. They open them in about six days, take a look around, then close them again for the better part of their lives.' The enchanting illustrations that abound this book support that view for of the 62 kittens on display, 60 of them have their eyes tightly closed!
The book is filled with quotes from authors, philosophers, poets and artists and they all inspire and entertain in equal measure, indeed, many of them should be taken up by us humans as life would be so much more less stressful! We could perhaps all learn something from the feline message of contentment.
Virginia Woolf writes, 'There is luxury in being quiet in the heart of chaos', Gertrude Stein's 'It takes a lot of time to be a genius, you have to sit around so much doing nothing, really doing nothing' may well be true and I do hope that Eleanor Roosevelt's observation is true as she writes, 'The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams'.
And the last word of truth should go to Ari Ripkin who says, 'Subliminal kitty messages? "You are getting very sleepy" is not a command when said to a cat; it is an eternal truth.'
There have been many well illustrated cat books but this lovely collection of cat naps and kitten dreams is certainly one to luxuriate in.

Very cute pictures but most of the quotes are a bit rubbish. Although maybe that's just me; I'm currently suffering from extreme fatigue so all these quotes about sleep and resting just grinded on me! I really liked the photos but a shame most were cut in half due to the layout.

If you have a craving for pictures (accompanied by quotes) of cat's napping this one is for you. It is cat's in their various sleeping positions and places looking so relaxed you get relaxed just looking at them. The quote's are okay, but somewhat unnecessary - I mean cute, sleeping cats that's all you really need. A nice book to page through to unwind.

My husband bought this for me so that I can enjoy cute kitty pictures as well as some nice/funny sayings. Very sweet book and a book that I shall cherish because it was from my husband. I will definitely read it again soon!

I love this book.. Its one that I look at when I feel stressed or angry. Always a mood lifter to see such sweet little kitties napping. :)

Hard to rate what is basically a picture book, but hey- it's a picture book of kitties napping! Sweet book given to me by a colleague for secret festivus this year.
