Eva and her friends Ben, Jo and Wyatt must do whatever they can to survive.

I love Zombie books. Okay more like obsessed with them. And this one is pretty good. If u love zombie stories and all that gore and blood and running then you will love this one.
This is the 1st book in the Eva Series. 4 stars.

I just read this on wattpad for free and this was a pretty awesome read.

Eva Wilde and her friends all work at a 1950's diner in Melbourne, Australia. When a virus spreads and turns people into zombies, they must do whatever they can to outrun the zombie apocalypse that is taking over. Can they survive and make it to Cairns in one piece? Read this and find out.

This was a pretty good first book of the series. Eva Wilde reminds me of a female Ash from the Evil Dead films. If you guys are a fan of h

Well written story about a world turning. A nice beginning, enjoyed it a lot.

Amusing in parts (the ones that weren't full of plot holes or weak characterisation), and it gets a bonus star for Melbourne.

OMGS ASDFGHJKL I LOVE THIS BOOK(and the rest of the trilogy!) I literally read this in less than a day, and then read the other two the next two days. J.M.Wilde is a fantastic author! I would love for this trilogy to be published in a physical book format that I can put on my shelf. Eva is a badass, amazing character, and so are the supporting characters. The romance is perfect, and doesn't detract from the story line. The pacing is just right, and the plot twists and turns so much that by the e ...more

I really enjoyed the story line of this book and so far i'm enjoying the series. The way the author describes the events in the story really get me excited and even makes me feel like i'm actually in the situation the characters are in themselves. I especially love how the main character can get in intense moments yet make it out alive no matter what but the way the situations are described is so phenomenal and i just get so jumpy and i just wonder "will she make it?" and i applaud the author fo ...more

It was enjoyable, but so short. I have a feeling that the entire trilogy could have been made to just one book. So I think I'll continue with the series, it's a quick read (when I'm actually reading).

OH MY GOD IS IT JUST ME OR DOES IT LOOK LIKE "THE RISING", THE FILM THAT CHARLIE FROM "QUEENS OF GEEK" STARS IN? Normally I don't like zombie stories (sue me) but I have to read it now ^^

As They Rise is a good start to new series.

Eva and friends find themselves suddenly in a Zombie Apocalypse. Their only hope for survival is to get to a faraway place. They have their fair share of Zombie battles and close calls. There were some things in this story, that I believed could have been left out. I also feel that it could have been longer. It almost felt like it was just the beginning. That was just getting a glimpse before the real story begins.

Because of how short it was, I didn’t r

This was a fun read with a good amount of angst. The writing is good; although the book is a little too short for me to have a coherent opinion. I did wonder at times how they got their survival skills, since they seemed pretty adept for untrained peeps, or is that just an Australian thing? ;)

Dnf at 40%. I realized that i just really didn’t care about any of the characters or the story. Nothing grabbed me and made me want to keep reading. Maybe others would like this but it was just blah to me. Not worth my time.

One of the essential problems with zombie fiction is that there's so much of it, it's difficult to stand out. As They Rise really has little to recommend it beyond its use of an everywoman protagonist, who is at the very least more compelling than the standard zombie hero.

Very short traditional zombie story

This is more like the first few chapters, part 1 of a book than book 1 in a series. Traditional zombie virus story & a couple of small spelling /grammar errors

I honestly don't know what the hype was about this book. It was a good book and all but it doesn't give me anything new or exciting. I'll be completely honest I forgot I was reading it a few times 😂😂

It felt little bit rushed and there is overly too much description but still it get me hooked at the start but after apocalypse started it became extremely boring. There wasn't anything I haven't seen anywhere else, nothing new. Just one zombie cliché scene after one, this just felt like one hell of a bad low budget movie...

4.5 stars. This was one heck of an awesome first book!

The book starts off with the zombie apocalypse, but we soon switch to how it all began. How the infection spread, and how our 4 characters (with Eva as the main character) lived their lives before everything, hoping the infection wouldn't spread to their city. I just loved the confession part at the beginning, they really have a chemistry, but I could also imagine why Eva said what she did. And then we switch to the next day, a day that seems

Like in most zombie scenarios, the character of this book finds herself in a struggle for survival. The short-story is filled with gruesome deaths, high stakes, and plenty of action.

I struggled to come up with a rating for this short story. I was able to read it in one sitting and it was something nice to pick up during the week of Halloween.

However, I wasn’t that impressed with the actual story. I felt like it was just a combination of every zombie movie/book already out there

Come on, Zombies? Jen Marie Wilde, whose menu for writing "Eva Wilde Vs. The Zombie Apocalypse," had the perfect measurements for creating exciting mixtures of suspense, intrigue, conflict, comedy and seriousness for readers entertainment. There were many typos throughout the text and a few missing conjunctions, and the readers made comments as to such, but fun and happy comments exuded throughout the story as I read it on Wattpad.com. That website is for writers and readers, and everything stor ...more

I bought this short novella because of its cover. I really liked the colors and the girl with blood splattered all over her face. I also happen to love zombie novel and so I was in. OK, I kept it on my Kindle for seven months but I finally got to it.

First surprise: the novella is set in Melbourne, Australia. [Yeah, dear ol' Soobie didn't read the synopsis with full attention...]

Second surprise: the protagonist is a kick-ass heroine, as I like them. Sure, in the first pages of the novella she rej

J.M.Wilde has to be one of my new favorite. The first book of the Eva series touched my heart and set it pounding with adrenaline. Eva is one hell of a badass chick, from having her heart broken by her crush Wyatt to Kicking and Killing zombies heads.

Eva is a character you learn to love along the journey, although her best friend isn't so much lovable in the beginning, she works into your hearts and you see that best friend connection. And then, Wyatt, hot steaming Wyatt, i was taken away by th

A fun free look into the Eva Series. It's pretty typical zombie stuff. You don't get a ton of information and characterization of the characters, but I'm sure they will develop more in the second and third book. I haven't bought the sequel and I'm not sure if I will.

If you have a zombie itch this book may help, but there are some pretty great books out there for zombies. Yes, most you have to pay for, but it's worth it.

“I know it feels like the whole world is crumbling around you right now. And I guess in a way it is, with everything else that’s happening. But you know what? It’s okay. It’s okay that you feel numb. It’s okay that you feel like shit. Feel it. Then, once you’ve had enough of feeling that way, you’ll start to move forward. But right now, feel however you want to feel.” 0 likes
