Another brilliant creation by Louise, The Rescue is yet another beautiful reading experience for the readers. The story takes us with Magelica along a journey where she follows her heart and believes her dream is true. This way she is able to help her friends and also fulfill a long due task for them.

The illustrations are, of course, very colourful and brilliant. The story telling throughout book is nothing short of an art. The lessons given throug

This second installment in the Magelica series continues to build upon the first book. The chapters have gotten a little longer, but are still manageable for young independent readers beginning the transition into chapter books. The illustrations are just as beautiful as in the first book.

The story also builds upon itself. At the end of Magelica's Voyage, Magelica returns home knowing one day she'll go back to the Isle of Dreams. Who knew it would happen so soon?

Through a dream, Magelica realiz

The Rescue is the second book in the Magelica's Voyage series. Magelica dreams about the missing prince of the Isle of Dreams so she rushes to see the queen to tell her about her dream. Magelica leads everyone on a rescue of the prince from the Isle of Darkness.

This is another cute fantasy story for young children. It has colorful pictures full of the unique characters. It also teaches lessons about laughing as much as you can, believing

This is a great book for children from kindergarten to second grade. It is a book that first and second graders can read and younger children will enjoy this book being read to them. This book with its awesome pictures and sweet easy to sing songs helps to teach children valuable life lessons. Like not to lose hope, to keep their imaginations alive, the laughter and happiness can be powerful, and of course where there is a will there is a way. The new character in this book Prince Will is a grea ...more

In book 2 Magelica is awoken from a bad dream. One where she sees the prince lost on an island that is anything but nice. She knows she must help, so she travels out in her flying bathtub to let the Queen know she has had a dream about the prince. This one will keep you on the edge in hopes to seeing the prince to safety. Then you have where Magelica and the Prince find true love and a happy ending on the horizon.
This story while still very imaginative has a bit more drama in this one. Another w

Magelica's Voyage is a brilliantly written series that is presented with such raw vulnerability and sincerity. It's a story that promotes perseverance, humility, loyalty, compassion, closeness, friendship, kindness and love. Moreover, Magelica's character arc is one that is sure to connect with the hearts of little girls and encourage all those who venture along in her journey of discovery to rediscover their own virtue, beauty, and truths. Needless to say, it will provoke all those

In Book One, Magelica’s Voyage, Magelica travelled to The Land of Two Suns with her pet dragon, Tris, and met Queen Raya, ruler of the Isle of Dreams. She was able to help Turtle, the turtle upon whose back the island rests, get started swimming again, so that the people could keep a lookout for Prince William who was feared to be lost at sea. In The Rescue (Magelica’s Voyage, Book 2) we catch up with Magelica as she is drifting off to sleep, nice and comfy in her warm bed, with Tris snuggled ne ...more

Magelica’s Voyage: The Rescue by Louise Courey Nadeau is a beautiful story that will teach kids valuable lessons pertaining to staying true to their heart.

The story begins and we are introduced to Magelica who is in bed and about to fall into slumber after her nighttime rituals with Gri and Tris. Gri is the mother that was chosen for Magelica and Tris is her pet dragon.

Suddenly, the reader is taken from Magelica’s calm and tranquil bedroom to a raging and angry ocean. Courey Nadeau writes, “Prin

As usual, the illustrations are amazing. My 8-year-old has just one question, "Why does Goldy look scared?" This is when they were are riding on the galleon.

I am kind of expecting something challenging that's going to happen to the prince while awaiting his rescue, after all, the island where he's trapped has an unpleasant name. I felt a twinge of disappointment at the lack of excitement.

As a mom like Queen Raya, I could feel her worry for her son. I like that the story reminds its readers to la

In her second adventure, Magelica has a dream shortly after being tucked into bed by her guardian, Gri. Magelica dreams that Prince Will is in trouble; she sees him washed ashore on The Island of Darkness. Together with her pet dragon, Tris, she embarks in her magical bathtub on a voyage back to the island where she met Queen Raya and discovered her power to make effective changes once she believed in herself. Magelica does indeed find that the prince is stranded. The people of the kingdom learn

Book 2: Magelica's Voyage: The Rescue

The second book is such a lovely book about believing in yourself and being happy.

When Magelica has a dream about a lost prince, Will, she goes back to the Isle of Dreams. Magelica needs to believe in herself. When Magelica rescues Price Will they feel instantly connected.

Again, as with the first book, the illustrations are stellar! I did not demote this second book in the trilogy to 2.5 stars, as I did the first, because the storyline wasn't as complicated and jumpy. I loved the fact that the heroine saved the prince! Still, this book, like the first, has an identity crisis. It is either a Children's story trying to be Middle Grade, or a MG trying to be a Children's book. The way it stands now these books have an extremely narrow reader age group. *NOTE: There a ...more

The Rescue, (Magelica's Voyage, Book 2)

This tale of The Rescue continues with Magelica’s journey as she goes to search for Prince Will. She keeps her faith, belief in herself and trusting her instincts. This book is just as well written and executed by Louise as the first one. The book continues where  Magelica finished her journey and  dreams of a prince in trouble.

She follows her heart and flies off to rescue Will, finding courage in laughter and her belief in magic. The book delivers it messa

The second book in Magelica’s Voyage is just as magically and positive. In the first book we learn that the Queen’s son is lost. As the title indicates this book will be about a rescue. Magelica has a dream about where the prince can be found and heads back to the Isle of Dreams in the bathtub that becomes a galleon. We learn a little bit about the prince and his horse Goldy. Their boat capsized and they are stranded on an island. The prince stays motivated by repeating the positive message of ‘ ...more

Both books are so amazing with rich and vibrant illustrations. Believing in yourself is a deep theme in both of these stories, which of course I love. Isabella devoured both of these books. In The first book”Magelica’s Voyage” it starts right off teaching the message of having faith. Magelica has to conquer fears in order to help the Turtle and the Isle of Dreams which rests on his back. Magelica learns to conquer fear and doubt and believe in herself. I received The Rescue, second in the Magelica's Voyage Series, for free from Louise Courey Nadeau in conjunction with a Mother Daughter Book Reviews' giveaway.

In The Rescue, Magelica dreams of Prince William and his goldaron being tossed in a boat on stormy seas. She sees William and his goldaron swimming to the shore of a foggy, frightening island in their attempt to survive. Upon waking Magelica knows she must visit Queen Raya, who lives on the Isle of Dreams, in the hopes that the queen's m

Magelica has returned home and dreams that Prince William is stranded on a deserted island. She knows she needs to help so she goes back to the Isle of Dreams to share what she knows and help bring the prince home.

I liked that she momentarily struggled to return to the Isle of Dreams. The cute, fuzzy, purple ball, Odin, meets her right away and takes her directly to the queen. She sees old friends and meets some new ones and has new adventures where she learns more about herself and this new wor

This begins there where the first book ended, and although one could possibly read this as a stand-alone, I wouldn't recommend it. The adventures from book 1 will make it easier for readers to understand Magelica and the situation she finds herself in this adventure.

Honestly, I enjoyed this book more than the first. While the first had to jump between several things to give the reader a good understanding of the characters and magical world around them, THE RESCUE takes off one, pure adventure.

The Rescue is a nice continuation of Magelica's Voyage. Be sure to read book 1 first or you'll be lost. Once again, Magelica and her cute little pet dragon, Tris, take off in the bathtub/galleon. This time their mission is to find the lost prince. The messages are similar, including strengthening bonds with friends and family. There's even more emphasis on finding ways to remain cheerful during trouble. Other positive messages are to keep trying and stay away from danger.

The Rescue was just as delightful as the first book and just as centered on the power of believing in yourself to accomplish great things. In this book Magelica dreams of Prince William and his lost goldaron. She rushes to Queen Raya, and the Isle of Dreams to see what she can do to help. While there she discovers the power of laughter.

As with Magelica’s Voyage, this book is filled with wonderful life lessons. Believing in yourself, and sharing love with those around you. Most importantly the jo

We meet up with old friends Odin, Queen Raya, and Wally Wizard, and we meet some new ones in Prince Will and Goldy the goldaron. The story is filled with laughter and an uplifting song, and we again encounter the recurring theme of a Guardian Angel. Magelica gets one step closer to finding out where she came from. Magelica's Voyage is a cute young fiction series aimed at children transitioning from easy readers to early chapter books. Abundant illustrations aid comprehension and help fill in many of the details about the worlds that Magelica inhabits. Kids interested in magical stories and fairy tales will find these tales appealing.

My biggest complaint about the series is its strict adherence to "princess tale" tropes. There was a token attempt at including diversity in the illustration of the villagers

In 'The Rescue' she learns not only to believe in herself but the importance of laughter and not to fear. As with the Fist book, there is very good ideas on how to help the child incorporate the main teaching points of the story.
