So, you've got the kids in the back seat of the family car and you're off to visit a National Park. If you are like me, you don't want to hear a lot of "are we there yet?" The answer to that question is this book. There are word games, fill-ins, jokes, matching games, searching games, pages and pages to keep kids occupied and informed. And of course, fun facts, like this one: The recipe for s'mores, a popular fireside snack, first appeared in a 1927 Girl Scout handbook. I wonder how many s'mores have been made in national parks throughout the years? No matter which park you are visiting, there's fun stuff relating to it. And there is a nice Answer Key at the back of the book. There are also lots of maps and incredible photographs I've always loved activity books, especially those geared to an adventure I was taking my Kiddo on. One of the nice things about many of the activities is that they can be done in the car and the whole family can participate. More than one child? My advice is get a copy for each one to avoid the possibility of fighting over it. Trust me - they will like this book.

"This book was filled with fun facts and activities to keep you entertained on a good road trip. Highly recommended for families, especially those that love our National Parks! I'm reading it for the second time through."--Review by my 11 year old with high functioning ASD--he loves these kind of fact-filled tomes! It was also greatly enjoyed by my 9 year old. They like to quiz each other as we visit the different parks.

“What in the world?” This is what readers will say when they see curious but familiar photos and the jumbled letters underneath each picture for kids to unscramble. There is also Animal Jam where readers can help characters find all of the appropriate camping gear. Watery Wonders offers questions and readers can choose the correct answers. Young readers will also learn about historic trails, cool caves, animals that love the beach, various types of leaves, dive and discover and so much more.

National parks are a treasure trove of fun and learning. Fun characters and fantastic photography put the national parks right in front of the reader. This great guide is an excellent travel companion, gift or school project. Families can take this guide along to learn more about their visit to a favorite national park.

2016 is the Centennial Celebration of the National Park Service. National Geographic Kids has updated some of their popular books and added new ones. Use these selections to jumpstart a special event in your school library.

The JUNIOR RANGER ACTIVITY BOOK is chuck-full of fun puzzles, games, quizzes, and other activities for youth. The book includes Fun Facts and Trivia, Funny Fill-ins, Jokes, Visual Puzzles, Quizzes, and Games. Answers can be found at the back of the book. While some of the activities focus on specific parks, others explore general topics such as common plants and animals.

Keep your Youth entertained for hours while educating them at the same time! This publication is packed full with 145 pages of information, plus, 11 pages of answers and an additional two-page index for easily locating the park in each state one is looking for!
Each page is brilliantly illustrated. There is so much information on every page, most parents will find information they were never aware of! The trivia questions, points of interest, wildlife information, and so much more is mind-boggling!
This publication is so worth the price! After the activities have been completed, there is so much information which will benefit the owner for years!
This book was sent to me in exchange for an honest review, of which I have given!
This is definitely worthy of Five Stars!!

This was a neat activity book – it teaches the kids about the parks, wildlife, and other things while they are doing the activities. I like activity books like that. It includes trivia quizzes about the parks, or other related topics. It is a rather well organized book, and I enjoyed going through the activities and reading the fact boxes. I have been to national parks and became a junior ranger, and the book touches on what it is like to be a junior ranger, serving the parks. All in all, a rather nice book.
*Note* I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy of this book

Great for hitting the road, this book is packed with fun facts, games, puzzles, and tons of fun. Inspired by the U.S. National Parks, this book will not only keep kids entertained on the road (or in flight), this book makes learning fun. Kids will learn about each park, it's history, the animals there, and so much more. This is a great book to pick up before you hit the open road.
