This revised edition of A Student’s A-Z of Psychology is a response to the requirements of the modern learning environment. It provides the core psychological knowledge required for a first year course in psychology as well as information on specific skills-based topics. As an alphabetically arranged resource, it is an easy-to-use companion for the entry-level student of psychology. - See more at: http://jutaacademic.co.za/products/a-...
A Student's A-Z of psychology is UNISA's solution to first year psychology, covering the social, emotional and physiological aspects of the field.
It seems like A Student's A-Z was designed specifically for the undergraduate degree which may have positive and negative consequences. On the positive side, the textbook is affordable and compact, perfect for any students studying part-time. On comparing this with the WITS equivalent, which has American authors, we see where it is lacking. The diagrams are poor and some sections are inadequate. Supplementing certain sections might be necessary.
I hope to see improvements in A Student's A-Z of psychology in future editions.
The knowledge and information shared in this book is extremely vast. The author did a very good job in covering the basics of so many psychological topics. If you are interested in gaining a basic and wide understanding of psychology, I highly recommend you read this book. Especially from an African perspective.
