If you just first heard of acrylic paint…

Disappointing in it’s simplicity, lack of illustrations, lack of pictures, oh there are about two or three per section. I learned this from library books ten years ago. Not much help. As someone who paints all the time I found it not of use.

I was excited to peruse this book and see what techniques the author chose to include, especially when the title implies that there will be some for portraits, landscapes, etc. While the definitions of painting techniques given and the factual information about acrylic painting provided are accurate, I didn't find that a true beginner would have a good idea of where or how to begin after reading this book. There is, however, a good chapter on famous artists who painted with acrylics as well as a link to a youtube demonstration video.

Pretty Simplistic

This book is for people who have absolutely no clue about painting, and I do mean complete ignorance to the extent that they have never picked up a brush nor put paint to canvas or paper. I was certainly hoping for more from a book with such a comprehensive title "Complete Guide".
