Miller Spurlock might seem like a laid back man on the outside, but piss him off, or violate his trust, and he’ll show you the meaning of pain.
He was a Navy SEAL. He could kill a man a hundred different ways and not break a sweat.
He’s also a police officer and member of the SWAT team, which means he has the knowledge and skills to get away with it.
Rage boils in his gut when he witnesses what happens to the beautiful Mercy Shepherd during a SWAT op from hell that even his worst nightmare couldn't conjure up. And it surprises the hell out of him when she wants him, and him only, to comfort her in the aftermath.
Miller becomes the one shining beacon of light at the bottom of Mercy’s pit of despair.
The one man that could pull her through the rough days ahead and make her whole again.
And during her road back to herself, she realizes that she’s got the one thing she ever wanted in life…a hero to call her own.
Lani Lynn Vale is married to the love of her life that she met in high school. She fell in love with him because he was wearing baseball pants. Ten years later they have three perfectly crazy children and a cat named Demon who likes to wake her up at ungodly times in the night. They live in the greatest state in the world, Texas. She writes contemporary and romantic suspense, and has a love for all things romance. You can find Lani in front of her computer writing away in her fictional characters world...that is until her husband and kids demand sustenance in the form of food and drink.
Well I had hope but this really wasn't for me.I love to read some books where everything is perfect because you need something from time to time in life but this was SO much drama that at one point I was totaly lost.Who,what, when, who is that? So dramatic so....not real.I need some real people...emotion not just -well-I-was-raped-now-I-want-baby I'm sad that this end like this :/
Miller Genuine Spurlock was a hero in the truest definition. From the moment he took Mercy into his sheltering arms after her tragic attack, I was head over heels for this huge larger than life man. Mercy was beyond brave and really grabbed life by the balls. She was funny and kind. What was beautiful was that they became such close friends. Lani of course gave us the craziness of silly friends and family. Letting us visit with past favorites while teasing us with future possible stories to come. This was a unique love story that treasured life. I admire this author for her beliefs and her strength in not caving to the public pressure of writing what others want.. But writing what's in her heart. I for one feel safe while reading Lani's stories because every time I visit her whacky and crazy but beautiful sexy world I know I'll feel at home and like I can just relax and enjoy down to earth love stories where faith, family and freedom to love and protect those special to us is celebrated. Keep dreaming Lani, I'll be right there ready to dive in.
After reading about Miller in Downy and Memphis' book, I wasn't sure he was going to be my kind of hero, but holy helps bells was he, and so, so much more. Becoming a reformed character after the incident from the previous book, Miller is my newest obsession. An alpha in his own rights, without question, but gentle, caring and understanding after Mercy went through the biggest, most horrific trauma in her life, witnessed by the whole town, Miller was her advocate, her safe place and her cheerleader as well as her protector and lover. This is my 2nd favourite book in this series so far, only taking a backseat to Georgia and Nick as I adore a couple who WAIT for each other, that is true, true love. I'm absolutely obsessed by this series. My heart already belongs to Foster, so I can't wait to read his story now.
The beginning of this book gutted me,rape is heartbreaking to read about and the public manner of this one turned my stomach. I admired Mercy for her stance on the pill and was extremely grateful that the baby wasn't a result of the rape. As such I totally understood her reasoning behind asking Miller to be with her just to provide a chance that the baby could be his. While Miller was patient and kind and devoted to Mercy unfortunately did not feel that connection between them as previous couples. I just found him to be a stand-up guy doing his best in a tragic situation.Maybe if it was mentioned that he had seen Mercy around and wanted her maybe I could've understood the relationship but I use didn't get it. Once again some OTT situations with the suspense as the ex mother in law unleashed her crazy in many different way resulting in a tragedy for poor Foster. All in all this one started off high but by halfway through I was bored and sorely unconvinced about anything in this book including the romance.
SWAT team member, Miller Spurlock was a bit of a playboy, not looking for commitment but looking to have fun. When he rescues Mercy Shepherd during a brutal attack he finds his protective instinct coming out in full force. Mercy finds herself leaning on Miller and making a friendship that seems to grow. When Mercy asks Miller to help her, Miller needs to decide if he can stay by Mercy's side or if he should let her go.
This had several surprises. Miller is so protective of Mercy and a total alpha male. Mercy is heroic and shed a few tears with her story. Another phenomenal story from Lani Lynn Vale.
This is book four in the series. Like the naughty girl I am I only read one of the previous books in this series. However I absolutely loved this story.
Miller oh Miller. Yes this is Millers story. He is all sorts of hotness. He's a hot sexy alpha that will do anything to protect who he loves. My heart went out to Mercy. I'm so happy she had Miller.
This is an amazing read. It will be included in a select few to stay on my kindle for a re read. Yes it's that good. I'm so looking forward to reading more of these sexy alphas. Loved it.
I didn't really like this one as much as the others. It was terrible what happened to Mercy, but I didn't really care for either Mercy or Miller. Miller just kinda seemed pussy-whipped.
I have been excited for this book since I read the teaser chapter at the end of Bang Switch, the third book in this series. When my RCR Blogger Boss Lady, Miranda, told me that I was getting this ARC, well, to be honest, my reaction was something along the lines of this:
And, as is typical with my experience during a Lani Lynn Vale book, I was not disappointed. This book contains a detailed description of a violent act against a woman and is, essentially, about her recovery, both emotionally and physically, in its aftermath. I’ve always considered myself a Lani Lynn Vale fan, but after reading this book, I think my love of this author’s work ventures from simply being a fan and into the fanatical.
Mercy Shepard is a tiny powerhouse of a woman with a huge spirit and an enormously giving heart. The founder of Second Chance, a work program for veterans who need to work but need an understanding environment, she has given many men fresh off the battlefields exactly what the name of the program implies – a second chance.
“She looked at me with her heart in her eyes… And that was the beginning of how I became well and truly fucked.”
Miller Genuine Spurlock, a retired Navy SEAL, is a member of the Kilgore, Texas Police Department and is on their SWAT Team. Following a humiliating sexual encounter that very nearly injured two innocent bystanders seriously, Miller has done some soul searching and has changed his ways. Looking around at his fellow teammates and seeing what they have – happiness, love, families – he is now open to a more serious relationship with a woman, something he hadn’t been ready for before “the incident.”
“All that was here was Mercy and Me. My Mercy Me.”
During a SWAT operation from hell, Miller, along with national news media and the entire population of Kilgore, witnessed Mercy’s violation as her ex boyfriend assaulted her against a glass window in a church. It was Miller who provided the distraction necessary to get Mercy’s attacker into a position where the SWAT Team could act.
“…I didn’t fall. Why? Because Miller was there to catch me.”
From that moment on, for both Miller and Mercy, a bond was formed. She leaned on him and took refuge in the feelings of safety he evoked in her, and he fell hard and fast for this resilient and strong woman. I loved watching their relationship grow and develop, and as is ever present in her works, Lani delivers this relationship with her special brand of humor, snarky sassiness and alpha male awesomeness.
“I won’t ever leave you, and I won’t ever do anything to you that’ll hurt you. I’ll be your shadow that makes sure you’re always protected. This I swear to you.”
I have a rule when it comes to Lani’s books. I only do this with three authors, and she is one of them. I don’t read any teasers nor do I read the teaser passage at the end of each book for the next book. I know I’m getting a new Lani Lynn Vale the next month, and I know its going to be great. I like the thrill of experiencing a new Lani Lynn Vale release without any preconceived notions and in it’s full, unspoiled glory. So I avoid anything that will tip me off and steal that buzz. But, at the end of Bang Switch, for the first time ever, I broke my rule and read the passage for Execution Style. I was hooked hard, and I couldnt wait for this book. And let me tell you, Lani totally delivered, and I was not disappointed.
I loved this story so, so much. Everything, from how perfect Miller and his Mercy Me were together to the way their relationship developed. Their easy, sexy relationship and their highly entertaining back-and-forth banter worked for me in a very big way. It was all delivered with Vale’s trademark blend of humor and steam, a well written story built upon an interesting plot and those delicious, hilarious little blurbs that kick off each chapter. This book was perfect from start to finish, which is always the case for me with this author. I mean, how can I not love an author who uses the same description as me for hot dogs? A big, fat, solid 5 Smooches for Miller and his Mercy Me!!
I am sitting here trying to find the right words that I want to use in regards to Execution Style. Normally for this author I end up cutting down my reviews some because I am usually raving about a book of hers. This time, my issue is that unfortunately this is my least favorite of all of the books of hers I have read and reviewed. If you have read my reviews in the past I am giving high praise for the story lines that Ms. Vale has written. So it is really hurting my heart when this time I have to say this one was kind of all over the place and had too many issues for this reviewer to be able to overlook.
I normally hate to give any kind of spoiler away but in this instance I need to let you all know that it starts off with Mercy being raped. Normally I would put a warning at the beginning but her rape is what takes over the entire book in my opinion and her choices after the matter. I am a religious person but when reading this one I almost felt at times that religion was being pushed on me. I didn’t like how Mercy in a way kind of put Miller on the spot about something, it to me made me not like her and she was never able to redeem herself in my eyes. Miller, I really liked him, he was a really good guy. Past wall breaking aside, he doesn’t want to pressure Mercy or add to her pain.
With all that being said I will continue to read the rest of this series and Ms. Vale’s books. I am hoping that this is a onetime thing that I didn’t mesh with the book at all. I hope she goes back to the recipe that worked for so many books in the past; a sexy alpha male, a sassy female, sexy times and just enough drama and action to keep it interesting.
Miller....what a freaking AMAZING H. Not only is he head over heels for the h, but he's possessive, OTT cave-manish and totally at the mercy of the h. He loves her, he adores her....he'll beat back any one and anything that threatens to take away happiness from Mercy (h). First thing - read these in order. It's really a must at this point so that you can fully understand everything that's going on - and truly appreciate it. Second - prepare to have your panties melt! That's right...right off your body. Third - get ready to read some very graphic details in the very beginning that are disgusting, but real. It does involve a rape that the H as well as half the town witnesses. Fourth - I got nothing - just read it already! Oh and Fifth (because why not at this point) - Once again, LLV has produced a cover that I have requested to come with a scratch n sniff. LOVE IT.
This was a great read. I love LLV and am always excited to read her books for the first time or the 100th time. An author that knows exactly what my heart, body and brains want and delivers perfectly!
Execution Style is the fourth book in KPD Swat Series and these men are all so delicious that you really should read them all…NOW!
This is Miller and Mercy’s story and they are smoking hot together! Miller is the ultimate alpha male. He’s an ex-Navy Seal now SWAT, rough, sexy, demanding and ah, I would love to lick melted chocolate off of his abs.
After witnessing a horrible act of violence against Mercy while on a SWAT mission, Miller and the rest of the team are left shaken by the events. None more so than Miller when Mercy attaches herself to him and only him as a source of comfort. He will do anything to regain the vibrant, strong and powerful woman she was but he knows the more he is there for her, the more he is falling in deep with her and it may just come to a point that he can’t or won’t remove himself from her life.
Mercy is understandably a little lost with what has happened but she is also tough. She is trying to not let what happened rule and ruin her life and despite what has happened she finds herself falling for Miller, the sexy SWAT member she attached herself to as support following the horrific events. She is taking it day by day but her feelings and attraction grow stronger whenever he is near. She is a little confused with how she can feel this way so soon but everyone reacts differently to tragedy and this is her way of not letting the bad overrule her.
The whole story is fantastic and this whole Series is a firm favourite of mine! I love Lani’s style of writing and the way she can entwine all of the characters into your lives with her words.
I cannot wait for the next Swat member and his story.
I was given a complimentary copy in exchange for an honest review. Reviewed b by Tanya
This is the fourth book in KPD SWAT series and it was a fantastic story for Miller and Mercy. After reading the first chapter at the end of Bang Switch I was expecting a slightly different book but once you get into the book and get all the back story it definitely works. I will say that as I've never known a rape victim I can't really comment on how well the author dealt with it within the story but I thought overall it worked although towards the end of the book it was almost like it was completely forgotten - except for the crazy lady. I loved getting to know Foster and I am waiting impatiently for his story know... Luckily I only have to wait a month :) This book I also found a little different from the others, it was fairly insular in terms of their wasn't a lot of interaction from the other SWAT members (no wives except for one mention of Georgia) they are mention a couple of times instead it was more about Mercy and Miller and his brothers Foster and Trance which of course meant we got a visit from Silas and also we got to see Sam and Cheyenne again.
Book 4 in the Code 11 - KPD Swat series. Lani Lynn Vale needs a different star amount for her books. 5 stars is just not enough. Miller sees Mercy at her worst and is the only one who can make her feel better about what happened to her. It really feels like your there with them, sharing their story. These books just keep getting better and better. We get to enjoy all the old characters that we have grown to love, and brother Trance brings some of the MC from his book along for a visit. Oh Silas is as good as ever.
I both loved and hated this book. I loved Miller and Mercy! No two people are better suited for each other then them. I hated what happened to Mercy. I cried so hard for her.
Lani writes this book like she does any other, loaded with action, emotion and a love so strong you wish you were them! I can't get enough of her books and I'll be honest when this series if over, I'm pretty sure I'll cry!
Every time I read about another guy in the Swat team, I fall even harder in book love with the previous so god know what Im gonna be like by the time the series is finito.
Miller is OH HOLY HOT DAMN gorgeous. I am seriously in so much love with him and with how he was with Mercy.
The whole storyline was so emotional yet so thrilling at the same time and Lani sure does know how to write a sex scene.
This book should def be on your 1-cick list if not at the top of your TBR.
Yet another great read from one of my favorite authors! Great story with a sweet romance. Lani gives me what I love in a book. The story starts with a scene that is heartbreaking and may be a trigger for some (rape). The way Miller was there for Mercy just made me love him more. Lani Lynn Vale gives you that hot alpha who's a good guy that loves his woman! no cheating no ow/om drama hot Alpha sweet strong heroine
Sei lá... a história é legal, mas após a heroína passar por uma situação extremamente traumática ela se recuperou rapidamente e já estava querendo transar com o herói... E a ex-sogra? Que mulher doida!!! Mas gosto muito das histórias da autora e vou continuar acompanhando a série.
I'm giving it 4-stars because it was so much better than most, and I really liked Miller.
Miller (SWAT dude, knocks down walls with his thrusts) is part of the team that helps rescue Mercy (I can't remember what she does) after her ex-boyfriend beats her up and rapes her on television. Personally, I'm so tired of that trope. Anyway, Miller is the first one in and she clings to him for protection. He ends up spending a lot of time with her and they grow close. There's a lot of fallout with what happened, and Mercy's ex's mom is an evil witch. There is a bunch of drama, same that comes with all LLV books. I do have to say, in every book there's someone that gets into a fight in public. Ok - these people are adults. They should know how to behave, and violence isn't really a good option. Especially for things like name calling. Makes me think everyone in Kilgore is a loose cannon about to just start murdering people.
Anyway - everything is resolved in the end and they live HEA. Miller is the deliverer of all things happy and loving.
Now..... POTENTIAL SPOILERS and complaints AHEAD
So Mercy doesn't want to take Plan B because of religion and "it's murder" and stuff like that. She decides that if she did become pregnant from the rape, she wants to keep the baby. After thinking about it, she decides to guilting Miller into having unprotected sex with her so that in her mind there will be a chance the baby is his. She doesn't want to do a DNA test or anything. She essentially wants Miller to be the father of her baby, even if he's not. So....... she's not only planning on keeping the truth from her potential baby, but she's going to keep Miller tied to them. That's a real b*tch move. I didn't like that part AT ALL. That said, of course Miller agreed to it because he's secretly in love with her, but he's also just such an amazing man.
Ladies, please if you haven’t read any of the other works by Lani – then I beg you – get right on it – this woman knows just how to write a seriously hot man!! Dang This is the fourth book in the series and it is Miller and Mercy’s book and it is brilliant. I won’t say it is my favourite because to be honest I love each and every one of her couples, and picking one over the others is just not feasible. Miller is with the SWAT team and like the rest of the guys he is blow you mind hot. But the book starts with him witnessing something that as part of the team is so far off the whack scale that he can’t quite believe what is happening. Mercy is being held hostage by her sadistic ex, and the action he takes to violate her in such a public fashion just proves that he really was one very sick puppy. But she is one tough woman and when he eventually meets his maker and she is free, she is finds herself in the arms of a man that she doesn’t known, dressed in the black of the SWAT team but with eyes (the only part of him visible) that cut right through her, they see into her soul and she knows this is the person she can trust to keep her safe. Mercy’s father is on the force, she knows each and every one of the guys that have just witnessed what happened to her, so she can’t face the sympathy that she knows she will see etched across their faces, and so she pleads with Miller to get her out of there and that is exactly what he does. Heading to the next town, he takes her to the hospital to get her checked out and to make sure that she is able to go home, but leaving her home alone, he just can’t do that, he knows that he has a job to do and that is to keep her safe, to help her heal and to protect her at all cost because somewhere in this crazy night, this woman began to matter to him and he just can’t figure out why? I liked the pair of them together although I was a little surprised at the events that led to their first night together. Terrified that she might be carrying a child fathered by her attacker, she pleads with Miller to sleep with her, to give her the doubt she needs, the one that if she is pregnant, it just might Miller’s. Now, having never been in that position I was unsure as to whether or not that was a realistic scenario but having read Lani’s books previously I know she will have done her research, so kudos to the author for that one was a new one on me and I think it would have been to others, because Lani laid that thought process out quite clearly when she brought forward the reaction of those around and that comes into play in the story. The path they take is fairly smooth really which I liked after such a horrific start but it was not entirely bump free, in fact there are some pretty large humps to get over but they are more than willing to give it all they have to get there. The peril in the story was provided by what I can only suggest is described as a “complete fruit loop” but it meant that the story really did hang you out to dry all the way to the end. The epilogue- well I adore the epilogue, as with the other books, the author gives me the closure I need but doesn’t completely shut the door because I know that I will get to hear about them again in the next book – which just happens to be Millers brother Foster, who suffers a significant in. I laughed my ass off when Miller explained that the three brothers were named after beers – honestly genius or should I say Genuine!
Let me open with I adored Miller. I loved him in Trance's book when he and Foster were introduced. I was excited when I realized they were on the SWAT team too when I started this series. So with every bone in my body I want to scream this: MILLER DESERVED BETTER!!! He's the only reason I finished this and gave this a rating at all.
I completely disliked the heroine Mercy. She was first seen in Downy's book when Memphis met her and she seemed like a cool chick for the tiny bit we saw. Couldn't really make much of an impression from that but with this book? UGH. If I'd known I would've just skipped no matter how much I liked Miller.
Mercy was utterly PATHETIC. Full stop. Her self esteem was non-existent. She was very woe is me. For example:
"A man like Miller couldn’t like me.
Not plain Mercy Diane Shepherd. The girl that had no curves, boobs, or bounties of any kind. I was plain Mercy. The girl who was raped. The girl who had more in common with a man than a woman. I was the woman who burned if I was out in the sun too long, and could eat fifty donuts and have nothing to show for it but being more attractive to mosquitoes. I was the woman who walked in front of a crew of construction workers in my sexiest get-up and never got a single freakin’ whistle."
And this was where I stopped even trying to tolerate her. So tired of her drama. Honestly how do you think this way but act totally opposite the rest of the time? Yet another issue the author has where her heroine's personalities tend to be wishy washy.
And can I just say her rape was really poorly done. I know everyone handles their experience differently and they all have their own pace with moving on in all situations and coping. However! I think the author glossed over key points. I felt it was rushed and not sincere. And above all the logic this dumb bitch Mercy had about NOT taking the Plan B pill because of her beliefs (she's can't killing a living thing, aka baby) and then can't stand the idea that she could be pregnant with her exes baby so she emotionally begs/manipulates Miller to fuck her without protection and allow her a chance to pretend the baby could be his. Now Miller, albeit already at a point where he had feelings for her (Lord knows why!) and felt he couldn't tell her no even though it felt extreme to him too, tells her the baby could look like her ex Mitch and she'd know. Good point, right? Oh but no, conveniently this Mitch had the same hair color and eye color as Miller so she could pretend 4eva. Hah. HA HA. What the ever loving shit. This made me not want to read anymore when this went down. But Miller....so I tried. Stupid fool still did the thing because she goaded his rational sense right out of his fool head by threatening to find "any guy at a bar to do it" and his caveman pounced. Can you hear my eye rolling??
This book was absurd. Mercy was unlikable. I could not relate her irrational logic or emotional vomiting and insecurities. I couldn't even allow any leway for her trauma. She was that annoying.
I got whiplash from how extreme the emotions were swinging. End of the world sobfest to dropping ILYs and boning like rabbits. 🤷♀️🤦
Ps. I wrote this review at chapter 17 of 24, already 100% of my feelings.
Pss: the book ended pretty much exactly how I knew it would. Predictable.
Wow!! I mean really!! I don't know one freaking series that just keeps getting better and better!! And the best part is they are already "the bomb" to begin with so them getting better means "OFF THE FREAKING CHARTS AMAZINGLY GOOD!!!!". I just can't believe it!! There is just no way to explain it because I can't for the life of me pick a favorite and that's saying something. Anyway, Miller....OMG!! I love him he was fabulous! He has the cake in the middle and ALL THE ICING OUTSIDE!! He was awesome at taking care of Mercy and what he did to help her?....WOW!! That was so sweet and he was so hot. Mercy was such a sweetheart and with what she had to go through was horrible. I loved how Mercy and Miller's brother foster were close. I was a little disappointed in Millers Mom there for a minute but glad it worked out. Now onto Foster....please let him be a dirty, dirty talking man in bed!! I can't help but to picture BT Urrela as Foster (cause he's such a good looking and sweet guy. He cares for his dogs and has been through so much in his life) and to just imagine him being a Dominant TOTAL ALPHA like none of the others in Lani's books, would be again "The Freaking Bomb" (sorry, I know that word is outdated but I can't think of another one right now, hehe). Come on Lani give me more dirty talking with Foster :) oh and wouldn't it be funny if he had a girlie dog instead of a mountain of a dog everyone would expect. Like a Shih Tzu like mine that my mountain of a husband loves to pieces, it's really funny yet sweet when he takes her for a ride in his BIG ASS TRUCK and her sitting in the front in her car seat with her cute pink hair bow and pink polka dotted harness, LOL, anyway great job again Lani, AMAZING AS ALWAYS.
I can't even put into words how much I love anything by Lani Lynn Vale. She can have me crying. No not crying, sobbing, one minute and laughing hysterically the next. She has a way of sucking you into this story, to where you are holding your breath and you realize your hand hurts from clenching your fist too tight.
Miller, what else is there to say LOL Miller.
I have waited for Miller's story since Trance's book when he and Foster were introduced. This story starts off super fast, there wasn't any easing into it, it just jumped straight into the action. That's where Miller comes in.
I really, really want to tell you everything, I want to just go BLAH and it all comes out, but I can't!!! These are hot drama filled books, with an alpha that just makes you want to say yes to everything he says! I loved Mercy! She was so strong, and didn't even realize it! I totally agreed with how Mercy dealt with the issue at hand, she had a unique way of looking at it, and you can't even fault her. Miller backs her up all the way, he has a couple of issues but he stands beside her and that made him perfect for her! As usual it was absolutely lovely to "see" everyone again, and we even get to see Sam in action again. If you are looking for a read that makes you laugh, cry, gasp, sexy as hell alpha males, and well the sexy time is just plain hot, then you should really look into Lani Lynn Vale. I would give this more than 5 but the powers that be only go to 5 stars.
**WARNING: Please be aware that this book deals with a sensitive issue - Rape.**
This is Miller & Mercy's story. They meet when he rescues her while she is being raped. Because she's traumatized, she will only let him near her. He's with her for two days taking care of her. He is as affected as she is by the brutal attack. This of course was not supposed to happen. Miller should've remained professional, aloof, having someone else see to her. He just can't tell her no though. He feels compelled to stay with her. In that time, they form a special bond. He comes & checks on her every few days to make sure she's pulling through. She even wants him to attend Counseling with her. They enter into a friendship, then later, more, lots more.
Following the author's previous books in the series, Execution Style is no different, in that there is Action, Trauma, Brotherhood, Rape, Family, Sarcasm, Love, Suspense, Hot Heroes in Uniform, Murder, Pregnancy, Hilarious moments, Mystery & Relationships. It basically has it all.
This book seemed to grip me & not let go. I found myself unable to put this book down and finished it in only a few hours. I usually pace myself over a couple days. It was a very good story.
So, if you're not too overcome by the trauma of rape, I recommend that you read this one.
This book definitely started out on a different note with central characters being introduced during a deplorable act of violence. From that moment Mercy and Miller are drawn to one another and their story begins. I have to say that I found his level of commitment to this woman he didn't even know very strange. I understand that he was there as stability for her after her ordeal but I kept thinking I missed something. Nevertheless, I did really like this book. Mercy is understandably a little bit of an emotional mess a the beginning but, like all Lani Lynn Vale female characters, she is not weak. She's strong, and stubborn, and funny and caring and real. Miller is 100% badass alpha male who will do anything for those he loves. My absolute favorite thing about this book is that it crosses over characters from all the different series so you get Freebirds and Dixie Wardens along with KPD SWAT members. Plus, I'm a sucker for close family members and Miller and his brothers more than fill the bill for me. Five star goodness. Anxiously awaiting the next book.
Lani Lynn Vale is crack read for me with her alpha caveman chest beating alphas and snarky, funny, do what they want to do heroines that they fall in love with. Execution Style is a spin off of the SWAT team of Kilgore. The usual laughs and outrageous situations dot the landscape when Miller, a swat team member, saves and falls in love with Mercy, a crime victim he helps save. The romance seemed to develop overnight and out of sight. This one didn’t resonate with me as usual. The romance comes across weak as it mainly develops off scene and the time jumps don’t help. Some actions taken by the couple also caused concern. One being sleeping together to try to thwart the possibility of heroine being pregnant by her rapist. An eyebrow raising somewhat convoluted mystery keeps the story moving at a fast clip though even for Vale, this one jumps shark quite a bit.
