This is a great start to this series! The actual story picks up with the break-up of Mia’s 8 yr old relationship with her boyfriend Drew and Deacon’s strong pursuit of Mia. Mia is a very beautiful young woman who works as a lingerie model at a fashion company of which Deacon is the big boss. He is strong, strict, extremely handsome and a well known man whore. However, as soon as he laid eyes on her he knew she was the one, the woman of his dreams, the woman with whom he could and would build his future together. But his pursuit often becomes very pushy, making Mia to doubt his true intentions. When Mia gradually finds out details of his past with numerous women, she gets devastated and the secrets of the past change the dynamics between the two. Does he really like her or is she just an obsession? Will he manage to control her free spirit or will Mia ignore his confession of love and promise of fidelity?

I really enjoyed this book. I enjoyed that when things were starting to go down and the cracks were starting to widen, Deacon kept trying to remind her that it wasn’t a game. Tight writing, engaging characters with a sexy twist! I give Deacon 4 stars!

I received a complimentary copy in exchange for an honest review.

Deacon --- by Cheryl Douglas
Starkis Family #1
4.5 stars

First and foremost if you can get past the cover …. Great job – Now let me remind you all that my pick of poison is MC and Military reads with lots of “adventure” and men yelling “bike now” or shrugging off tactical gear. BUT thanks to Ms. Douglas I have now added any brother or male family member of the Greek Starkis Family. WHAT?!?!?!

Ladies you MUST one click this book and meet Deacon. Lets just talk about that name for a minute … swoon! Now lets add that he is a billionaire who owns a lingerie company, is greek so dark hair, olive skin and eyes you can swim in. Add in the accent while running his finger along the sash of the silk exclusive new wedding line he personally picked for you (wait -- no Mia the bombshell in the story) to model on the runway stating “you will wear this for me on our wedding night” when you JUST MET FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER. HELL YEAH I WILL! … LOL! Oh lord girls --- this man is too much.

Mia thinks nothing of the email she receives from her boss Deacon Starkis congratulating her on her first shoot for Alabaster’s. However recent emails have been more flirtatious and descriptive of what her boss would like to do to her and for her. Gifts arrive off and on for months from him claiming they must meet. Mia has already been questioning her deadbeat boyfriend Drew but she absolutely will not cheat.

Deacon will have Mia because a Starkis man always gets what he wants. Mia is not impressed with is money nor does she want any part of his expensive lifestyle. Mia has been on her own and supported herself and unfortunately Drew for so long now and Deacon has his own reputation. Mia has no idea why he is so intrigued with her.

This first book is incredible. I have no other way to describe it. Of course there is turmoil and Deacon has a secret that rivets Mia. Don’t they all! I will tell you I could have been swayed to give this book a full 5 stars if the secret would have NOT been what it was BUT it works in the progression of the story and Deacon’s reputation. You do get to see this through to the end with Deacon and Mia. There is no cliffhanger BUT I can promise you that you will want to know MORE of how their story plays out. And guess what!?!? Because this is #1 …. I can bet you will get more BUT it will be Damon’s story. YES ladies there are two of them! WHOOP WHOOP! Im anxiously awaiting the release that is, “coming soon” according to Ms. Douglas, thank you lord, of Damon and Eleni (Mia’s best friend).

GREAT READ!

Talk about a sexy, dirty talking Alpha! Deacon had me squirming and fanning myself something fierce!

Once Deacon's eye lands on Mia, he knows he has to have her, no matter what. And nothing and no one will stand in his way.

Mia's love life is really nonexistent even though she's living with her boyfriend of eight years. She feels the only good thing in her life is her modeling career, which is dwindling because she isn't getting younger, but little does she realize that her love life is about to become the best thing in her life.

Deacon's audacity to pursue Mia even though she has a boyfriend had me pulling for him because that takes balls and skills! As I read, everything Deacon did to make sure Mia was always taken care of had me swooning and rooting for him, but the more I read, the more I realized that there was something pretty BIG Deacon was hiding from Mia…

If you're looking for a book with drama, passion, hot sex and a dirty talking alpha who will have your panties disappearing, then one-click Deacon! This is the first book I've read from Ms. Douglas and I was definitely not disappointed and will absolutely be looking for more from her! ~ Kara, 4.5 Hot stars

Billionaire Romance.

Deacon Starkis, billionaire businessman, pursues model, Mia, after seeing shots of her in his company's lingerie catalogue. Even though she's in a relationship they correspond back and forth for 6 months via email and text. The man is a disrespectful, creepy, manipulative, stalkerish, obsessive, arrogant, 35yr old man-slut who thinks she's ' the one'. She's a beyond naive, gullible, 23yr old trying to come to terms that the man she 'loves'...has bedded all her colleagues. Yuck!!! There was zero chemistry between the leads, they were shallow and quite unbelievable. And the fantastical ending when he 'sorts' his 'issues' out...just like that...for a woman he'd only met in the flesh for a couple of days...was cringe-worthy laughable. It's written in alternate pov's from the leads, with secondary characters intermingled for further books in the series. I found little to like about this book...other than it was free.

This book was just okay for me. I thought the heroine was a little too back and forth and much too caught up on the hero's past, and I did not like that the hero seemed to have no self control when it came to bedding other women. I might have been a bit more sympathetic if his addiction had been revealed earlier in the book, but by the time the author clued us in I almost didn't care. I also didn't like that the heroine slept with someone else so soon after saying how much she loved the hero. I get that she was trying to move on, but that didn't feel authentic to me.

My Rating: 3.5 out of 5 Stars

For the record that is one HOT cover model…um um uuuuuummmmm.

Ok now that I have that out of my system…let’s see now where was I?  Oh yeah THE REVIEW!  I absolutely love books about sexy, rich, alpha males and this one did not disappoint.

Meet Deacon Starkis, owner of Alabasters, a very prestigious women’s clothing line that is best known for it's lingerie and the models that get to wear them. He has had his fair share of women…ok he’s a man whore but if you got it hey? His current sights are set on one of his models named Mia.  She is beautiful and his interest turns into borderline obsession.  Starting with casual emails and texts that lead to phone calls and unannounced appearances everywhere she goes.  Stalk much?

Mia is flattered by Mr. Starkis’ attention but there is one teeny weenie problem…Drew, her live in boyfriend. Her friend has been trying to get her to kick him to the curb years ago but she feels like with the history they have he will turn around and you know like get a job….HA!  Can you say scrub?

Deacon feels differently toward Mia than he has for any other woman.  Feeling like she just might be “the one.”  So he does what he knows best.  Lavishes her with gifts and sticks his own security team to follow (*cough*…protect her).

After months of Deacon’s affections she finally gives in and dumps the douchebag Drew.  Now that he has her all to himself he is not going to let her go willingly.  But his domineering, overbearing self gets in the way when he tries to tell her where she can go and what she can wear.  I’d be like OH HELL NO! [image error] Not to mention his man whoring has started to catch up with him and causes insecurities on Mia’s part.  I mean what do you expect when he bonks half of the Alabaster models lol.

Several times I actually wanted to punch Deacon. BUT people can change and together they must work out their differences if they ever expect to make it as a couple.  In the end it takes almost losing her before he understands just how important she is to him.  But will it be too late?

Favorite Scene: Where he calls her in the coffee shop.

Favorite Quote:

“When I make love to you for the first time, you’ll be mine.  You won’t be torn, thinking about another lover.  You won’t feel guilty because someone is waiting for you at home.  You won't question whether or not you’re still in love with him.  You'll give yourself to me completely.  Mind. Body.  Soul.”

When I read the blurb, I was intrigued. Deacon falls in "love" with a model in one of his magazines. Mia has never met Deacon, yet quickly gets over the surprise of his emails. Too bad Mia is in an 8 year reltaionship with Drew. Eleni is Mia's best friend & models for the same company. Eleni is the voice of reason as often as she plays Devil's Advocate. I'd love to see her get a book. Every woman needs a girlfriend like Eleni. She's supporting you, loving you, calling you on your BS. But I digress.

Deacon is everything you'd expect from a billionaire. He goes after what he wants, doesn't take rejection well, Yet he shows a remarkable patience for Mia, playing a long term game. He's convinced Mia is The One. There's a few hurdles in his way, besides Drew. Mia is sweet, innocent in a way that is jsut part of who she is. She works her butt off while Drew goes back to school and is a lazy slob. Drew has few redeeming quailities, but he's safe. He's all Mia has ever known. It's hard to step out, break away from the comfort zone.

Cheryl Douglas does great job of breathing life into her characters! She doesn't take the easy path, make her characters do what's expected. The road to true love is never smooth or easy. The heartache and anguish is as believable as the laughter and sexy kisses. Being an adult is full of twists, turns and stumbles. It's how you pick up the cracked peices that make you into who you want to be.
I look forward to reading more from Cheryl Douglas and the Starkis Family!!

Deacon and Mia are combustible...when they are together, the sparks do fly...Deacon is a man who gets what he wants, when he wants it. And he wants Mia from the moment he sees her photo. Obsessive doesn't even come close to describe Deacon...more like crazy-clingy-stalkerish...lol! He is so over-the-top that I had a hard time connecting with him as a leading man. When Deacon starts pursuing Mia, she is in a relationship with her BF of 8 plus years...Mia was a bit naive and flaky in some parts, but others I was cheering and saying 'atta-girl' when she would stand up for herself....and put Deacon in his place. I loved how strong her character came across in the long run, and by the end of the story I was totally in love with her character. The supporting characters were well written, I just kind of wish Deacon had been a bit more....something...I can't really explain it. He just didn't do it for me, and I was really hoping (like Mia) he would. Overall, cute story, a bit over the top, but all-in-all a good read and would definitely pick up Damon's story if given the opportunity to read.

If you are looking for a strong, confident Alpha male – look no further than Deacon. This man oozes Alpha!

Deacon always get what he wants and when he sees his newest model, Mia, he wants her. Nothing and no-one will stop him.

Mia, however is unavailable. She lives with her boyfriend of 8 years, even though he’s more like a roommate anymore. But no matter the circumstances, she won’t cheat.

Deacon definitely makes it very obvious that he wants to meet Mia. Mia is a very strong woman and isn’t one to give into anyone’s demands very easily.

I love that game of chase these two play. And Deacon has a few secrets that he holds from Mia. As they are slowly revealed, it’s Mia who may end up walking away forever.

Fantastic plot and Cheryl wrote it beautifully. The whole book flowed perfectly and I loved how everything played out. I ended up devouring this book in one sitting I was so engrossed in the plot. I am looking forward to more in this series!

Decon is a billionaire who owes a business that he started from the ground up . He knows his power and how everyone's bows to him . While he flips through the pages with the models one catches his eye ( Mia ) he knows he wants her and it starts innocently first with emails . Then with gifts and tex messages also. Only thing is Mia is living with someone . She has been for the last 8 yrs . It's Drives Deacon mad . He takes her out and spoils her. He dosnt want her modelling swimsuits anymore . Deacon also plays around and he is trying to convince Mia to take a chance on him. Dump her boyfriend . Move in with him and meet his family and have his children . Every time she leans towards it someone says about him being a player. Get the book and find out does Mia break up with her live in boyfriend. Does Deacon convince her to take a chance on him. It's a hot hot read a must get

This was an interesting twist on the billionaire trope I like the whole modelling aspect, it was unique.

Mia is a lingerie model and the object of Deacon's affection. She has a deadbeat boyfriend and a sassy crazy BFF Who is also a model. Deacon falls for her at first site and he tries his damnedest to get her into his bed.

But his reputation precedes him and she treads lightly into this new relationship with a very powerful man with a history and a few secrets.

Their connection is electric and I loved the tension and sexy times.
Deacon is a force of nature used to getting his way. Mia is independent and strong willed and doesn't give poor Deacon an inch LOL I love how she defied his nonsense almost at every turn.

I'm looking forward to more in this series. I loved these two.

Deacon and Mia truly exemplify the old phrase "Love Conquers All"!
You will be drawn into Deacon and Mia's world of love, lies, and the ability to get beyond all that stands in the way of their happily ever after. Cheryl Douglas has truly outdone herself with the Starkis Family Series and I am excited to see what is to come for the rest of the family. Pre-order or purchase Deacon and let yourself escape into the Starkis world. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did! Until Book Two....Smiles, CD

OMG this book was so heading for a 10* rating I just could not put it down!!!!

And then CD had to go and ruin it for me!

This book had it all for me, the older man younger woman theme, billionaire bad boy, Alpha hero that is OTT protective and possessive, I loved it!

This is a first read for me by this author and I must say she did impress me with her writing style. I was glued to this book, could not put it down. I even overlooked the back and forth between Mia and Deacon with their misunderstandings. Mia was very naïve. I did like how she did stand up for herself but I felt that Mia never fought for them to be together, she was never invested in their relationship, Deacon seemed to be the one doing all the work here.

This book lost my interest when the ex shows up and Deacon just took his sh$t and then Mia just leaves/runs away from Deacon AGAIN. No self-respecting OTT Alpha male would take the exes threats and let him get away with it. I was very let down by Deacon I expected more from him. I will admit I did skip to the end as I could not see myself finishing this book from that point.

Overall a nice read.

Title: Deacon (Starkis Family #1)
Author: Cheryl Douglas
Publication Date: June 15, 2015
Genre: New Adult, Contemporary Romance

ARA'S NOTE:
You look at that cover and you tell me that that didn't make you curious. Those eyes, that chest, his abs, and that stubble...mm-mm-mm! Oh, sorry. I lost myself a bit there. Anyway, the synopsis isn't all that appealing to me. Sounds harsh, but it'll get good later, I promise. So anyway, the real reason why I decided to give Deacon a whirl--the book, not the man (but one could wish)--was because a fellow blogger told me that the author, Cheryl Douglas, is really good. This became the perfect opportunity for me to check out her creations, especially since this is the first installment in her new series. Alright, let's got my review.

SYNOPSIS:
When Deacon Sarkis sets his sights on the gorgeous young model gracing the pages of his glossy catalogue, he knows he has to have her. One problem. She’s not available. But that won’t stop Deacon. He’s a man used to getting what he wants and he wants Mia.

Mia is stunned when she receives an email from the elusive billionaire who owns the lingerie company she models for. He tells her he’s intrigued. He’s not the only one. But she knows she’d be a fool to throw away an eight year relationship for a brief affair with the head honcho. He doesn’t do relationships and she doesn’t do casual sex. It seems they’re at an impasse.

Who will come out on top in this battle of wills? The dominant one or the woman intent on teaching him the meaning of submission?

CHARACTER BACKGROUND:
Deacon Sarkis is a man who's used to getting what--and who--he wants. He has never deprived himself of anything, especially when it comes to his sexual needs. However, he's not what he appears to be. There's a real problem in his life that he must find a solution to before it permanently ruin his chance for a happily ever after.

Mia Barnes is a sweet, smart, and beautiful woman with lots to prove in life. Modeling is her ticket to success...and her means to pay for her bills and her boyfriend's studies. Despite her physical perfection, she has insecurities that constantly nag her and hinders her from taking risks. But for Deacon, she's willing to jump in head first...that is if he's really going to catch her.
REVIEW:
Let me start off with the things I didn't like about the book, and then we'll build it up from there. Okay, so like I said earlier, the blurb did nothing to interest me because it introduced a book that is similar to about a dozen others I've read before; hotshot business tycoon used to getting what he wants sees our physically perfect heroine and decides that he will have her one way or another. They play cat and mouse for a bit, and then he gets her (shocker), she breaks up with her long time partner to be with him, they go through bumps along the way, they take some time apart, they get back together, and they spout off sweet stuff in the end. But, it's really not as uneventful as I make it seem, because even I didn't expect it to be that different. In books with hot billionaires, more of then than not, they like to sleep around, yeah? Normally because they can, and also because they want to "fill a void" in their hearts or lives. Deacon however, he has a very different reason as to why he can't commit to a woman permanently. Don't worry, I won't tell you what that reason is, but it's really good. You don't encounter this twist everyday.

So what am I leading to? This book is not typical. There are deeper issues in the story's plot that would make you think deeper about certain things.

SUMMARY:
I give Deacon 4 stars. It doesn't set you up for that much, but it packs a lot of strong punches. It's definitely a good read.

REVIEW: DEACON (STARKIS FAMILY #1) BY CHERYL DOUGLAS

Deacon by Cheryl DouglasMy rating: 4 of 5 starsDeacon is rich, manipulative, dramatic and obsessive. Mia is committed to making her own way in the world. Her career is her main focus. She wants to be remembered as more than just a pretty face. That secure put together image she projects on the outside is a facade. Inside she is unsure of herself. That insecurity causes her to make bad choices in her personal life. Deacon is the story of two emotionally damaged individuals. They are a train wreck together but can't break free of each other. Dramatic, provocative and disturbing read that tantalizes the senses. Received a copy of Deacon in exchange for an honest review.View all my reviews

4.5 star Review Deacon (Starkis Family #1) by Cheryl Douglas

This was a new author to me and let me say I am so glad that I was asked by the blog to read and review Cheryl Douglas’ Deacon.

What do you get when a dominant, self-confident, extremely arrogant (to the point of rudeness on occasion), billionaire business and totally alpha Greek male and an extremely stunning, somewhat naïve, lingerie and swimwear model cross paths? An explosive, sexy tale of romance with more ups and downs than a roller coaster.

Deacon Starkis has fallen for his model Mia Barnes and is determined to have her. No matter the cost. She is “the one”. All he has to do is convince her of this and for a man who always gets his own way that will not be a problem, or will it? Mia is not a weak minded woman. Her strength of character in holding Deacon accountable for his actions on occasion was very remarkable. She did not fear standing up to him and I admire her for that.

Initially I disliked Deacon but as I read further into the story I began to see his insecurities, his vulnerability, and his fears that Mia would leave him and soon overcame my dislike. The fact that he was smoking hot, talked dirty and essentially dominated and knocked down every obstacle in his path in his pursuit of Mia had a lot to do with that. Frankly speaking I wanted to be Mia.

Mia brings out emotions in Deacon that he fears. He lives, loves and plays hard. I don’t think he expected Mia to enjoy how hard he plays but by the sizzling chemistry between them, she most assuredly did. Mia also spent a great deal of time antagonizing and bringing out Deacon’s inner beast. It was obvious that there was more to Deacon than what he showed to those around him and since I have no intention of writing any spoilers I will not venture further down this path.

Mia’s best friend Eleni and Deacon’s best friend and business partner Blake (and the conversations they had with them) left me laughing so hard at times. Particularly Eleni, I just want to meet her. What a great character!

This book has it all and is extremely well written. The diversity of the emotions that it evoked in me as I read Deacon ensures that I will be back for more in the Starkis Family series. I am eagerly awaiting the next book in this series.

I am looking forward to the next book in the Starkis Family series and commend Cheryl Douglas on an excellent read.

Deacon is the first book I’ve read from Cheryl Douglas – this was also a last minute review that I chose on a whim. I am so glad that I did, what an amazing love story. Sometimes romance books, although they are my favorite genre, can get dull, you know, the same old same old. Well let me tell you, this was quite the opposite. I finished this book in less than 24 hours – I actually woke up in the middle of the night and grabbed my tablet to read more!!

Deacon is of the Greek heritage and that is also his first language. He spent many of his younger years in his homeland. His culture and way of life was easily compared to my Italian family. To say I was in love with Deacon from the beginning is merely the truth. Deacon is president of a modeling agency, he is a total alpha man – needing control everywhere, yep you guessed it – IN THE BEDROOM TOO!

Mia is the daughter of a preacher, and she’s been modeling since she was sixteen. She started in her hometown and then moved to the “big city” to continue her venture. Mia models lingerie and swim wear for Alabaster’s – Deacon’s company.

Deacon is taken by her proofs and begins emailing Mia – the emails start off with compliments and getting to know her – then move onto naughty messages. You know, those messages we all love getting? Yummmmm!!! Mia has a live-in boyfriend at the time the correspondences begin – don’t you worry, Mia kicks him to the curb before giving in to Deacon. She’s a good girl like that! It’s an amazing story about love, but more importantly TRUST. You see, prior to Deacon taking a liking to Mia – he was a player, a womanizer – lots of women, too many to count. Can Mia live with his past and learn to trust him? Oh, you’ll need to read this amazing book to find out!

“a four – or five Carat diamond engagement ring on her finger would buy me some peace of mind” Deacon is so afraid of losing her he will do ANYTHING and I mean ANYTHING to make sure Mia is his forever!

Mia’s best friend, Eleni, makes quite a few appearances in this book. She is a BIG part of Mia’s life – I’m hoping her story is next! Please, please, please let her story be next!

I love a great plot twist and the one at the end was worth one full star!

Almost from the moment Mia Barnes started modeling for Alabaster’s, billionaire Deacon Starkis’ high-end underwear company, he has been sending her naughty emails and texts. Mia’s relationship with her long-time boyfriend Andrew is on the skids, especially since he decided to go back to school without telling her, leaving her the main breadwinner. She cannot aggravate Deacon because she needs her job, she doesn’t want to cheat on her boyfriend either, but the billionaire’s electronic messages have captured her imagination more than she would like to.

Mia has had only one boyfriend and she’s never been one for casual sex, but her adventurous best friend Eleni tells Mia she should live it up a bit. Mia is a glamorous lingerie model, but she’s a rather conservative girl at heart, and while Deacon also believes in traditional values, although he has had sex with numerous women, he’s had no real girlfriend; he has been waiting for the one, and that would be Mia.

Deacon is reminiscent in some respects of another domineering billionaire, whose much darker shades have graced the top of the best-selling charts in recent years. Deacon is controlling, he knows it, but he likes that Mia defies him, and she does, even if she succumbs easily to Deacon’s sexual charms; Mia is not as self-assured in real life as she is on the runway.

One of my favourite parts of the book was the wonderful friendship that Mia and Eleni share: it feels totally authentic, and the dialogue is fun, lively, and funny, and Ms. Douglas’ smooth and fluid writing makes DEACON a quick and easy read. The author came up with a terrific plot twist at the end, something I never expected and I loved it! DEACON is the first book in the Starkis Family series, and I am happy that I can look forward to the next instalment. I love surprises and Cheryl Douglas delivered!

What Deacon Starkis wants, Deacon Starkis gets, and his latest obsession is Mia. As one of the top model's for Deacon's company, Mia has heard all about his manwhore ways, and, while she's intrigued, she's not about to join the long list of his conquests. But when it comes to getting his way, Deacon is willing to do whatever it takes, as Mia quickly learns.

I had never read anything by Cheryl Douglas, so I went into this book not knowing what to expect. I have to say that I was hooked from the very first, and could not wait to see how the story unfolded. Deacon Starkis is alpha in the extreme. A self-made man, he is used to things being done his way. When he sets his sights on Mia, his pursuit is total and persistent, and it isn't long before their mutual attraction brings them together. Their chemistry is sizzling, and their relationship volatile, but the secrets that Deacon is keeping soon bring trouble to Paradise.

DEACON was a good solid read for me. The main thing that gave me pause, and led to a bit of a lower rating, was the Insta-love. There it is, the one thing that really makes me go, 'Hmmm, really?' Deacon and Mia went from a situation where he was really basically sort of, well, stalking her, and coercing her into a relationship, to a place of total and complete commitment for the both of them. I liked the characters and plot enough, though, that this wasn't a deal breaker for me, and Cheryl does explain the reasoning behind it. The secondary characters are extremely likable and entertaining, with Eleni being one of my favorites, and I am looking forward to getting her story in DAMON (Book 2). DEACON is easily a 4-star read, and a nice addition to the sexy alpha billionaire genre.

This was an interesting book, I enjoyed it but there were times I got frustrated with the characters and their behavior. The chemistry between Mia and Deacon is great, plenty of heat and plenty of sexual tension, although I found some of Deacon's actions to be creepy, bordering on stalker. It's one thing to be intense, but not to the point of taking it upon yourself to dress your mate without giving them a choice in the matter.

Another thing that bothered me is the fact that Deacon felt it was just fine and dandy to carry on the way he did with his employees; that would have led to a lawsuit in the real world lol. I did like the fact that even though Mia is younger than Deacon, she wasn't afraid to stand up to him and let her opinion be known. I enjoyed how Mia held her own when it came to meeting Deacon's family, especially his father.

The only drawbacks to this story are the incidents at the beginning of the book that involve Mia's then boyfriend Drew. When she came home, he slammed the laptop shut and got all weird and defensive. What the hell was he looking at? I'm pretty sure it was porn, but we never find out. And when Drew shows up again toward the end of the book, how did he know the person who gave him the information about Deacon? From the way Drew is portrayed in the book, he's not supportive of Mia, so would he have been hanging out with her at events? And last, when Deacon confirms that a lot of deep-seated issues contributed to what he was dealing with, but again, we never find out what those issues were and how they contributed to the path Deacon ended up on.

Overall, though, I did enjoy this story and I'm really looking forward to reading the stories for Damon and Eleni, and hopefully for Tiana and Blake in the future.

Oh my gosh, I am so in love with Deacon! He is seriously hot, his brand of dirty talking will really raise your temperature! Deacon is 100% pure alpha male who is used to easily getting whatever he wants - and he badly wants Mia. She is a gorgeous model who works for him at his lingerie company, and as soon as he saw her photo he decided that she was the one for him. The only problem is the fact that Mia is in a long term relationship with Drew, who to be honest is a total loser and not good enough for our Mia. Despite this Deacon spends months building a friendship with her via text and email, then once Drew is out of the picture he goes all out to win her. Mia is not swayed by his money or power which Deacon finds refreshing. Things hot up between them but Deacon is hiding a big secret that will devastate Mia

This was such a fun book to read - the author got the balance of humour/angst/sexiness just right for me. I flew through this book, I really didn't want to put it down - and I stayed awake until the early hours so I could finish it! Deacon is an amazing character - yes he's arrogant, yes he's very controlling and used to everyone agreeing with what he says, and yes he does act like a crazy stalker at times. But he also genuinely cares for Mia and would do anything for her. Mia was fabulous too, I really liked her, I imagine she would be a fun friend to have around.

This is a fabulous book, it by far exceeded my expectations. I am looking forward to the next book, which I assume will be Deacon's brother Damon's story. I would definitely recommend this book to readers who are looking for a slightly different billionaire romance, you won't be disappointed with Deacon. Five stars!
