It's Live! * Amazon US * Amazon UK *

Insatiable Part Two is everything I craved and more. It's perfection wrapped in a bundle of erotic romance. I swooned, I smiled, I laughed and my heart overflowed with the warm book feels. JD Hawkins is now firmly a MUST READ author for me and I can't wait for him to produce more loveliness.

The story begins exactly where the first part concludes with Jax sitting in a bar. My heart hurt for him. The first person narrative from Jax gave me a direct view into his heart and soul and I so loved being there. The series is told, in its entirety, in first person and from the dual perspective of the protagonists which was divisive in pulling me into their Insatiable world. The author gives the perfect pace and structure to keep a romance reader's interest level and feelings high, it's a swift page turner and I was addicted from the very beginning.

Lizzie blossoms into the sexy confident girl Jax Wilder always saw, he's the catalyst, the driving force, and as a reader I was willing Lizzie to realisation so that my love affair with this story could be fulfilled. She believes she knows the score and has reconciled with the fact that what Jax has to offer isn't enough for her.

We’re reminded of the reasons why Jax is not ideal relationship material but, as all seasoned readers of the erotic romance genre know, players have the potential to make our reading hearts ache and Jax achieves this in abundance. The way he thinks about Lizzie is lovely to witness and attacked my sensibilities in a beautiful seductive way. We see her through his eyes and she looks adorable.

As the layers of Insatiable are peeled away, we learn about Jax's history, a history that's driven his ambition and personality. We see his stark vulnerabilities whilst he opens his heart about the pain that's shaped his life.

Lizzie is searching for the perfect guy and in her quest the polar opposite of Jax is exposed to us which is an entertaining juxtaposition against the personality and charisma of our leading man. It works to showcase his sexy hero qualities and made me crave the desired happy-ever-after even more.

The humour that I so enjoyed in the first part of this series is again on display within the pages of part two, at times causing me to have a chuckle to myself. It's maybe a little more melancholy at certain moments as one would expect, to allow the sensitive development of the prose and the emotion of this second and final part to evolve.

Insatiable maintained and then increased the hotness level, I felt dizzy with the lustful descriptions and passion emanating from Jax as he took me through his thoughts and feelings. I felt the intensity between the protagonists, their attraction is as palpable as I remembered. Their coupling felt deep, sensual and passionate.

This two part series is witty, highly erotic and sensitively romantic; it made my heart beat fast and gave me the warm feels. Simply put, for me, this story is reading perfection, satisfaction guaranteed. JD Hawkins and his easy breezy writing style has me hooked and craving more.

My review thoughts for Insatiable Part One

I am In Love with this series, this new author maybe new but he sure as hell captivated me from page one yet again in this second book and this instalment apart from a couple a little things that annoyed me was all I needed to see happen and he delivered an engrossing and more in-depth read for the characters and to see who they were. I saw who the real Jax was and saw into his vulnerable side that really spoke to my heart and as a whole this author writing is easy, enjoyable and funny and #Swoon to Jax, can you tell I love Jax?!!!

What's it about
We set off a week after we're left on book one where Lizzie has got herself a new boyfriend she believes she's ready to settle down with casual steady James. She's still wanting guidance from Jax on her new relationship and that's where things get slightly hurtful for Jax, (Don't worry we don't have any love triangles or anything) I'd just call it a development in Lizzies relationship a learning curve where she doesn't quite understand who she truly is and where she's going, she wants a future with a man whomever that is, at this point she thinks she wants someone who is warm easy going and someone who is miles away in the structure of lifestyle that Jax is ie a permanent non sexual man that pushes her to open her legs at any moment, except we can't help who we fall for can we?.

Jax is lets say a bit star struck by the fact he wants Lizzie for Real a future with Lizzie and not a one F*@k kind of relationship that he's so use to, this makes him step back and think about his future. What I love about Jax so much in this book is how his vulnerability shined through and how he Always put Lizzie first he just wanted her happy even if that hurt himself I'm so in love with this guy. He may still be his dirty self on the exterior but he's so much more I loved how caring, loving, loyal and how he let Lizzie take her time to get her head round who Jax really was and not the one night kind of guy she saw him as any longer.

 photo C81AA6A0-98A0-453F-B2B7-B154A7C1B363_zpsldd7yr0r.jpg

What annoyed me
Lizzie to me although I really like her a character and how she fights her corner, she was easily deterred to be someone she's not quickly, how she put Herself first I have to say that wound me up slightly. Saying that you can understand how difficult it is to trust someone based on the week she had with Jax previously. I just wanted her to snap out of it a little quicker that it was, truly see what Jax was offering her and see who he was, see how he come far and was offering himself to her to be her everything.

 photo loving gif_zpsuo1gnhor.gif

Saying all that this is a great start to new author that I will jump into with both feet whenever he writes again, I'll be keeping my eye out for when that happens I suppose my only qualm is that I would of loved an epilogue to see more of them together, Maybe something to look into J.D Hawkins **wink wink**. Overall this is a fantastic duo for a new author and I highly recommend this one for all erotic and romance lovers.

That. Is. All

HOLY, this two book series was one HOT number!! I devoured this tale and it left me...so satisfied!

The proposition: Seven days. Every position. No strings attached.

You've got the player...

 photo JaxW_zpsyr7qax6j.jpg

“The devastatingly beautiful man with the sharp suit and sharper lines. The alpha who walks with a swagger that could only come from a body as sculpted as his. The mouth of a wise-ass in the body of a caveman.”

And the sexy good girl that doesn't quite know it...

 photo Lizzie_zps1w3pmoac.jpg

"Lizzie. She's still dancing on the edge of my thoughts like the dirtiest kind of tease, and I hate being teased."

The dialogue is witty, quick and just flows beautifully. Jax's lines are hilarious and unforgettable...

“I’m a ‘never-see-you-again’ guy. A one-ride-ticket. You don’t go to Niagara Falls or the pyramids every day, but you remember them forever. That’s what I offer. An unforgettable night, and a taxi ride home.”

“God may have given men dicks, but he really overcompensated when he gave women the ability to fuck with your emotions.”

The first book focuses on Jax giving Lizzie lessons in fucking, with teases...

kisses...

hunger...

and good old fashion banging!

The second book gives us less sex, although there is one combustible scene between Lizzie and Jax, and more about getting to know these two characters. There's more emotion and endearing moments in this one and had the perfect ending for these two!

This series is pure seduction: the writing just draws you in and has you laughing, smiling, and dropping your panties in a flash! The chemistry between Lizzie and Jax is palpable and the contrasts of their experience and demeanor works so well at having them mesh so perfectly. If you're looking for an erotic, sexy, witty and scorchin' read, this is for you!

“Perfect…is a moment. Not a life."

Well, JD Hawkins, this sure was perfect and I'm looking forward to more from you. What's next? I'm so ready...

Insatiable 2 picks up right where Part 1 ends. I was looking forward to seeing how the Insatiable Jax was going to fix his dilemma with Lizzie.

I would like to say I liked part 2 but I didn't love it like I loved part 1. There wasn't a lot of Jax and Lizzie time. I didn't find that I liked how naïve Lizzie was about cultivating a relationship with her new man James. I know Jax taught her "how to f*ck" in part 1 but she was also so clueless in how to be in a relationship as well? She needed Jax's advice "A Player - A Casanova" on how to be in a relationship? I didn't buy into that part of the story. I also wanted Jax to be more zealous in going after Lizzie- show that confident, smart ass, get what you want attitude and it wasn't there. But I did love that Jax finally realized that a woman could change him into wanting monogamy and that as much as he tried to get his mojo back with other women......Lizzie had ruined his lust and desire for all other women!!

I liked the ending but it felt way too rushed. There was 9% left in the book where the author could have given us more into Jax and Lizzie dating. Let me see the new and improved one woman man!!! I wanted validation that "their dating" really worked. (I'm so needy of my endings) If there was another book I would have been okay with the ending but as this was the end......I was a little let down. I loved book 1 so much that I guess I just expected to love book 2 just as much. I know that everyone loved part 2 but it just didn't WOW me so it was probably a case of me and not the book!!

No, no, no...it's not the same

***3.5 Stars***

Look, it wasn't bad, but it just didn't reach my very, very high expectations. I was looking for the ultimate smut-a-thon to continue and Insatiable 2 didn't deliver. Jax, in the first book had moves that I wanted to highlight on my kindle and recreating (with my hubby) the hotness that jumped off the pages. In Insatiable 2 we got a story without the smut (sighing and shaking my head).

The story was actually pretty cute. Lizzie has moved on from her arrangement and met James who is the complete opposite of Jax. Lizzie thinks this is the answer to her prayers and puts all her efforts into being what James wants. In the meantime, Jax has realised that he has feelings for Lizzie. This story is about finding what's important to you and working to keep it or in his case get it back.

This was not the smut-fest I thought I'd get and I found myself not as drawn in as I did in Insatiable, but it was a good conclusion to Jax and Lizzie's story. I did find a few errors in this one and maybe there were errors in the first one, but I didn't notice because I was so engrossed. I'm thinking it would have flowed better if it was one book. It wouldn't have been so glaringly obvious that one was full of sexy times and one had practically none.

I did enjoy the series, but my expectations were raised so high after the first book that the second one fell a little flat. This will not deter me from reading more from JD Hawkins, he has an original voice and a talent for smut that will definitely have me buying more in the future.

"They say the bigger you are, the harder you fall. Well, when it came to women, I was fucking giant. And when it came to Lizzie, I fell real fucking hard.”

“Insatiable”, Book 2 starts off with Jax sitting in a bar. He’s confused and he still doesn’t know what’s going on in his head and his heart or how he really feels for Lizzie. Lizzie wasn’t supposed to be the one to tear him apart. All she wants now is to settle down with a nice, good man. She wants more than she had with Jax, she wants more than just sex. It seems she already found this ‘perfect’ man in James. Lizzie really wants to be with James, or more exactly with a man like James who wants a house, children, a family, so she’s ready to become 'the perfect woman' for him. She’s still friends with Jax so she still wants some advices from him when it comes to men, to James, not necessarily how to seduce him, but how to keep him. However, she can’t deny she still thinks about the man who rock her world for one week, Jax or that she still feels a strong attraction toward him.

“Jax has been making me feel more like a woman than I’ve ever felt in my life. He’s fucked me more ways than I even knew existed, and given me highs that felt so good I didn’t think I’d ever come down.”

While Lizzie try to be the ‘perfect woman’ for James, Jax realizes Lizzie is worth fighting for and he’s ready to do anything to make her realize that he’s the man for her.

description

I enjoyed this installment, but not as much as the previous book. At times everything felt rushed, so I really wanted this second book to be a little longer. Anyway…I loved Jax here as much as I loved him in the first book. He’s still cocky and charming, but he’s more than that. I liked his characterization in this installment. He’s sweet and thoughtful and I have to say I loved how he puts Lizzie first. Her happiness is more important to him than anything else. Also, we get to know some details about his past, so we get to understand him better. I really admired how hardworking and ambitious he was and still is and I loved his vulnerable side.

Lizzie was great as well in this installment, but I must admit there were times when I really wanted to slap her. For some reason I didn’t but her...naivety. Anyway…I’m glad she figured out pretty quickly what she wants and needs. Needless to say, there’s no stupid drama.
About James…what can I say? He was so boringgg...Oh my Gawd...the most boring man ever!

This second book was funnier than the previous installment, but the steam aspect was quite low.

Overall, this was a great read and I’m looking forward to read more books by this author.

Insatiable part one was a very good surprise for me. And I was highly anticipating the release for book 2.

description

Let me tell you, J.D. Hawkins might be a new author but I will definitely follow him in the future. His writing is easy, funny, captivating. He knows how to give enjoyable, genuine, endearing characters and I can't wait to know and see what's his other books will be like.

Insatiable book 2 picks up a week after book 1 ended.

Jax is in a state he can't believe himself. Never in his live he has given his attention to a woman more than necessary. To say Lizzie changed his perception is certainly an understatement

" They say the bigger you are, the harder you fall. Well, when it came to women, I was fucking giant. And when it came to Lizzie, I fell real fucking hard.

Lizzie seems to have found her match. She was looking for a nice guy and James seems to be it.
To me, a guy like him was absolutely

description

description

While book 1 was all sexual and very steamy, book 2 is much more calm, with almost no sex!
I don't really complain because it gives more insight on Lizzie and Jax.

"We get along so great. We understand each other. How can you not admit that? The sex is out of this world, as good as it gets – believe me, I should know – but that's not even what I'm talking about. There's something real here, and I don't want to lose it

Jax is still a cocky guy with a dirty mind but he has his focus on Lizzie even if he tries to forget her.

Lizzie is still the insecure girl and I found her a little dumb sometimes. It was pretty obvious to see James isn't for her, still she persists and tries to find positives points to have a relation with him.

description

Part 2 was unexpectedly very funny. I laughed so much with Jax who tries to give Lizzie relationship advice 1- because what does he know? 2- because it was the complete opposite of what to do

"Funny's no good for James" "Funny is the opposite of serious. And you're looking to get serious with this guy, right?"
" well, yeah"
"Don't be funny then. Every time you make a joke about something, it shows you don't take it seriously"

I also loved the reaction Jax received from his friend Luce! I already loved her in the first book but her reaction was priceless!!

My only problem was how things ends. It all seems too rushed

Even though, I will still remember both books as one of my top read in 2015 ^^ Be sure to add it in your TBR.

The story begins right where we left off in book 1. With Jax confused, surprised, and heart broken. He've never felt the way he feels for Lizzie with anyone else. He's used to girls throwing themselves at him but when the right girl came, she didn't want him.

They say the bigger you are, the harder you fall. Well, when it came to women, I was a fucking giant. And when it came to Lizzie, I fell real fucking hard.

Lizzie wanted to end things with Jax before she falls for him. She didn't want to get heartbroken again so she had to be safe better than sorry. She knows what type of guy he is. She have seen it. He's not the guy you love and will love you back he's the type that will fuck you than forget all about you.

Jax is most definitely not the guy you want to date. He’s a player. The kind of guy who barely finishes having sex with one girl before he’s planning his moves on the next. He can’t walk down a busy street without bumping into at least a few of his previous ‘conquests.’ Everything about him screams ‘best ride of your life,’ and like most dangerous rides, you get hurt if you go on them too often.

This book had it all a bit of humor, romance, sexiness, and angst. It had this perfect balance about it not too much but also doesn't lack a thing. Of course their sex is off the chain!

"I wanna fuck you forever, Lizzie. I wanna make your body mine. I wanna hear you scream my name. Over and over."

I wanted more though. I felt like it was too short. But overall, InsAmazing

Everything Jax has done has backfired in the worse possible way and nothing he does makes things any better.

Poor Jax...I feel for him but it also makes me laugh. Of course, he has to go through all of this but it's hard not to feel bad for him.

Lizzie is dating someone else who actually isn't how I thought he would be and I was a little surprised that Lizzie was into him especially considering how her ex-boyfriend was. It was hilarious seeing her get so frustrated! And that lead to a pretty hot scene.

description

I thought it was great how things worked out. I was really surprised at what Jax did. And I was a little sad that it ended somewhat abruptly. I was definitely left wanting more and I'll definitely be checking out what else J.D. Hawkins writes!

The Good Stuff:

Dual Pov's? Yes.

Steam Factor? (Scale 1 - 5) Phewwww...that one scene! 5+

Angst? (Scale 1 - 5) 2-3 with the same poor Jax! ;)

Next book? Only the two at this time.

♥ “‘Jelena,’ parentheses, ‘bondage’ – pretty clear, that one. ‘Michelle Toesucker.’ Not bad. ‘Squirty Suzanna.’ Well, that’s always good to know. ‘Tight Slim Ass’ – not even a name for her, huh? ‘Lana,’ parentheses, ‘Batman’?”

Jax goes red and shuffles around a little more. “She liked me to…ah…pretend to be Batman.”

5 BIG STARS!

This is the continuation of book #1, which I absolutely loved.
This second installment had me reading for hours on end. What I loved most in the first book was the fresh writing and the one-liners!! These elements showed up and were developed in the second book as well, in the best possible way! I felt so many different emotions throughout this book, happy, sad, angry, confused.

The sequel peeks up where Insatiable part 1 last left off, and ties up all loose ends. This time, the smutty scenes are fewer but the erotic mood is kept alive from beginning to end and I quickly devoured the book in one-setting. I loved the escalating drama, which was smoother in the first book, and the slow tension built-up right before the climax.

 photo c9eecf88baebb0c5491479323723731a_zpslyokmdrl.jpg

In this sequel, Jax tries hard to come to terms with Lizzie’s interest to conquer another guy’s heart and to finally realize and accept his true feelings for her. He is confused because he has to fight his emerging emotions of love for Lizzie, while she keeps asking him for dating and sexual advice in order to please another man.

I liked that even though this was a short story it felt complete. It didn't feel rushed or as if anything was missing. It had a nice progression that felt real and true to the characters. If you are looking for something hot and sexy, then look no further. Not only do Jax and Lizzie have some sexy chemistry in the bedroom but they are also great outside of it.

 photo tumblr_niwjr2Ldw11qjrvino1_400_zps4owa5qds.gif

Will their growing attraction ultimately amount to love? I loved how things turned out. I was happy to see Jax’s change, and the ending couldn’t have been better. I found this second part even more emotionally impactful. Highly recommended!

I think I liked the first one more! Obviously this ended the way I hope but I wanted more! I really liked the teachings of one Jax Wilder and when his interest left so did his appeal! As for Lizzie...really? No way can this woman be that naive! Good thing her libido won out over her mind! No way in heck she wouldn't want what Jax was offering! I needed about 40% more of them actually together as it felt too soon...too neat...to over!

Insatiable Part Two starts right where the first part left off. Lizzie is trying out what she learned from Jax on her new guy, James. Jax realizes that he wanted an actual relationship with Lizzie, and now wants her back. He's willing to fight for her, he just has to learn how.

The second part kind of disappointed me. It was a really fast short story but there was a a lot left out. Lizzie and Jax weren't actually together for the majority of the book and the story just wasn't as hot as the first. I did like Jax a lot more in this book, though. It wasn't about him as a ladies man, but him as a man trying to get the girl he cares for and I really liked what he would do to get her back.

Lizzie still didn't do it for me. I didn't like how her character gave up on Jax so easily to go to another guy. She came off as kind of bitchy when Jax was trying really hard to win her over. Kind of wanted to slap her!

I did have issues with the story but overall it was still a good story and I enjoyed reading it. It was more of a sexy book than a romance but it oh boy were the sexy times hawt

J.D. Hawkins concluded the story of Jax and Lizzie with Insatiable #2 picking up where #1 left us. This author created a new fan in me thanks to his quick witted, easy writing. His characters made me laugh as much as they made me swoon while I was absorbed throughout the novella in where Jax and Lizzie would finish.

A good majority of this book, Jax and Lizze aren't together. We see sexual tension in their "friendly" meetings that leads to a humorous neurotic side of both characters we hadn't seen before. Lizzie wants something she thinks is unattainable from Jax. And being the manwhore he is, Jax doesn't know how to win Lizzie over. Bad advice, a missed connection, and one major charity event later readers will enjoy how they come to be.

I wished there had been more of the two of them together in this book and the ending was a bit rushed for me but overall the story held me captive. This author does a great job of hooking the reader and making them invest in Jax and Lizzie in the first book. Throughout the second you feel connected to each of them in a way that makes you root for them throughout. I imagine more book deliciousness coming from J.D. Hawkins and I'll be reading whatever he releases.

Insatiable book are definitely not the kind of books that you are going to rembember for a lifetime but there are definitely 2 books that you are going to read “insatiably” while you enjoy your sunbathing in the beach. Sexy, easy reads the best choice to have a relax time reading. So 4 easy, hotty and steamy stars for me.
Insatiable 1 and 2 are well entertaining, funny there were times I laughed out loud and giggled a lot and definitely it is a very hot read
 photo hot2.gif
Sexy and hilarious dialogues between the two main characters and a really refreshing writing come to fill the scene. Even though the books are short they are well written and you don’t feel that there was something untold and neither we are left with answered questions.
 photo complete.gif
Jax is an alpha male, cocky, arrogant and successful architect. Did I mention also sexy, hot? Besides his arrogance the man knows how to win your heart and he is definitely the master of seduction. He knows how to get a woman and lead her to bed . In the sex encyclopedia there would definitely be a photo of him besides the word player. Jax is the kind of one night stand man and he definitely freaks out with the idea of having a casual relationship and a girlfriend.
“I’m a ‘never-see-you-again’ guy. A one-ride-ticket. You don’t go to Niagara Falls or the pyramids every day, but you remember them forever. That’s what I offer. An unforgettable night, and a taxi ride home.”
Lizzie on the other hand is from these kind of girls you would definitely want as a friend. Sweet, she has only been in one relationship and I must confess she really surprised with her attitude when things got sexy.
When Jax and Lizzie meet ine evening in a bar and automically Lizzie turns into Jax’s new object of desire. He is consumed with her. He is immediately attracted to her even though she firstly rejects him because she had a boyfriend. After they finally spend a passionate night together Lizzie has an interesting proposition that Jax can’t actually refuse. The proposition is to teach her all his sex secrets. One week, no strings attached, no compromises
 photo sexy.gif
I am pretty sure that for Jax was like winning the lottery jajaja. And so the “classes begin. The chemistry between these two guys is definitely addictive and delicious. As I said above I was surprised with Lizzie and with her willingness to taste new things and Jax was surely the best teacher
 photo chemistry.gif
But what will happen when Jax the ultimate player realizes that he wants to spend more than a week with Lizzie and how is he going to overcome the fact that Lizzie is ready to practice the lessons she had with Jax with another man?
Book two begins right were book one left us. Written in first person by Jax’s POV we can see the struggle of Jax with his feelings. From one hand he keeps giving advice to Lizzie but from the other hand he is confused and he is starting developing real feelings for her. In the second part we see a more vulnerable Jax who is actually thinking a real future with Lizzie. I loved watching him acting live a man in love even though he keeps his naughty self for the outside.
Lizzie is more confident in this book. Being well teached she doesn’t think that she can take something more from Jax and she is trying to find it somewhere else although I strongly believe she ended the arrangement being afraid of actually falling in love with jax. What a best and safe opcion like James. Poor Jax having to give advice to the woman he loves in order to win the heart of another man. For the first time Jax couldn’t have the one thing he really wanted
Will Jax finally find his teacher in Lizzie’s face? Well you have to read the book to find this out.

This was just o.k. for me. I kinda expected him to come guns blazing to get her back in his bed. Make it hard for her to choose the other guy. Teaser her. Flirt with her. Make her admit she's in love with you. What I got was about 50% of him whining and sulking. The last half was better which is why I gave it three stars.

I don't want to turn people off, but my rating is based on the fact that the cocky confident sex machine of a man I feel in love with in book one didn't show up for book two. IMO.

WOW!! This was SO worth the interminably long and agonizing wait! JD Hawkins continued with the final part of Lizzie and Jax's story with all the fabulous-ness of the first part.
We got to know Jax on a deeper emotional level in this one and it just made me love him even more. Although he spent a lot of time hurting at the beginning I enjoyed getting to know he really was on the inside. Sometimes it's true that pain causes growth and I think in Jax's case it definitely did. He was never going to be content going back to the emptiness of meaningless sexual flings after falling for Lizzie. Sure, he loved to fuck her but for the first time it was about something more than that. We get to read all of his thoughts about her that are sweet and surprisingly innocent. It's painfully obvious that Jax has fallen in love, not just lust.
I must admit I spent the first part of the story so damned frustrated with both Jax and Lizzy I couldn't see straight. Jax couldn't bring himself to tell Lizzie how he really felt and it broke my heart to see this normally arrogant manwhore suffer silently by while being so blatantly friend-zoned. I was so angry with Lizzie for settling for the boring-as-fuck James after she'd had a taste of something so much better. Poor James....he must've led a severely sheltered life or something. His dates with Lizzie provided much needed comic relief for me after watching Jax break apart. Seriously, the guy complains about soup not fixed EXACTLY like his mothers and acts like he's been sexually assaulted when Lizzie tried to kiss him! How she EVER thought he was the perfect guy is beyond me. I was so mad at her that at one point I felt like she deserved to be stuck with James. Jax should be with someone appreciative of who he is, and Lizzie was NOT.
At least until she got her head out of her ass and suddenly realized she NEEDED who Jax was and everything he had to offer. When they finally came together it was explosive...almost literally! Anyone that knows me knows I read while I drive...(yeah, I know...what can I say- I'm an awesome multi-tasker)...well, HOLY SHIT!! That was one scene I could NOT give the proper attention while driving home for work and do it in a safe manner. I definitely didn't want to explain to an officer how I was reading this fantastically hot sex scene and just couldn't take my eyes away long enough to see the car stopped in front of me! I had to pull over and read that bitch nice and slow, several times over. It was a sexual encounter worthy of remaining a favorite bedtime story for those times I'm in need of something very special.
This whole book was just perfect. A perfect love story just the way I like them. There can be angst and heartache during, causing rude tweets from me to the author and anyone else who cares to listen, but it all works out in the end and everyone is happy, deeply in love, and well-sexed. Well, except for James....

First of all… these new covers are freaking SEXY! I’d like to know where exactly that hand is going… *ahem* Okay, on to the book… I loved how Jax evolved within this book. Don’t worry, he’s still sex on a stick, but now he’s thinking with more than just his dick. Part one is full of down and dirty sex and part two is like the grown-up version. We have feelings and emotions involved. I loved how J.D. got Jax to his place of fighting for Lizzie. It was a process… his face planting into various things cracked me up – but it showed us a vulnerable side to Jax that we didn’t get in Part one. It made me love him just a little more.

When we left off in Part one, Lizzie had met someone new… is it wrong that I wanted to smack her upside the head for trying to replace the beloved Jax? Because I did. Girl, you don’t give up a guy who will fuck you like a porn star. Just sayin’… So Lizzie ticked me off… but Jax made it all better with his crazy advice. He’s trying to set Lizzie on the wrong path and it doesn’t quite work out like he’s expecting it to. New dude seems okay at first… and then he gave me the creepy crawlies! Run, Lizzie, Run!
I sort of felt sorry for Jax at times… you can sense he’s trying not to show his pain at Lizzie having moved on. He started off as such a dominant alpha male that took everything he’s ever wanted. When he wants, and can’t have, Lizzie, he’s almost lost… Poor dude. *Psst… Let Jen make it allllll better!* I absolutely loved that he let himself become vulnerable.

I still can’t believe this is J.D.’s debut series. His writing is solid, the sex is incredibly hot, and his glimpses into the male mind are hilarious. What puts him over the top is that he gives his characters tenderness mixed in with the dirty. Not everyone can pull that off and it made Lizzie and Jax feel genuine. Keep on eye on J.D., I bet we’ll be seeing a lot more of his writing in the future. 5 stars

Insatiable 2.. man I wish I never knew you existed. I just didn't enjoy it and I think that giving it 2 stars is being highly generous of me.

The characters just annoyed the shit out of my constantly. I get it, he wanted Lizzie back but hot damn.. why was he acting like a baby back bitch? I just kept calling him "Triple B" whenever he was whining. I honestly just didn't care about Jax or Lizzie at all in this book. With his whining and her obliviousness I just wanted to bitch slap the both of them with a dose of reality. God, if I pulled my hair with the amount of times I was frustrated.. I'd be bald. BALDER THAN BALD PEOPLE!

Overall, I despised this book. I never want to see it ever again. I never want to hear about it again. I'm done with it.. forever!

I devoured part 1 of this duet, it was funny, sexy, and a fairly quick to read. This second installment was less impressive. It was significantly shorter than I expected, it could have easily been combined with the first book.

Lizzie lost brain cells between the first book and the second. It was infuriating. She went from this confident vixen to this timid frumpy housewife; the change happened at break-neck speed too. I was a bit bummed out that the guy she met ended up being a non-threat. He seemed promising when they first met but it quickly became clear he was not going to be in Lizzie’s life long. I was anticipating a bit more angst and maybe a guy/guy throw down for Lizzie.

Jax however continued to be a good character. It was interesting to see him out of his element with Lizzie and I liked the way he handled things (or didn’t as the case was sometimes). He stepped up when Lizzie needed him and he tried to be supportive of her decisions while still trying to win her over.

So all things considered, I’m glad I finished the duet. I did like the first one more than the second. I would definitely check out other books from this author.

Insatiable (1 and 2) by JD Hawkins
3.5 stars!!

“Good sex is a lifestyle choice, not an occasion.”

I have to say; as soon as you read the blurb you know what you are letting yourself in for. There is no doubt that Jax is a cocky, arrogant arse but one thing it doesn’t show you is that he is also a loveable, cocky, arrogant arse. And once someone like Jax gets his arse handed to him on a plate you know that it is going to be extremely entertaining.

“Perfect is a moment. It comes, you make the most of it, and then you let it go.”

Jax was a player personified. He trawled the bars, could tell what a woman wanted and liked from fifty paces, he was well versed in the female anatomy and knew it. What he could make a woman do and say was nobody’s business. He oozed charm, confidence and sex appeal, was a complete lothario, but he had the goods to back it up. He was a firm believer of “one night only” and seemly was going to be a roving bachelor for the rest of his life, but that was until he met Lizzie.

“They say the bigger you are, the harder you fall. Well, when it came to women, I was a fucking giant. And when it came to Lizzie, I fell real fucking hard.”

Lizzie was the complete opposite of Jax, she had been with her high school sweetheart for years and their bedroom antics were a far cry from Jax’s, in fact two pump chump comes to mind if you know what I mean. After splitting up from him Lizzie is only too aware of how naïve she is when it comes to sex and after giving Jax the brush off once, when their paths meet again she has a proposition for him. Lizzie wants Jax to make her a “Sexpert,” she wants to know the ins and outs of what a man wants, what a man desires. She wants to be the best so she has a better chance of keeping the next man.

“I don’t know when to stop. That’s always been my problem.”

These two books were hilarious, the banter between them and also Jax and his best friend had me in stitches, but most of all it was highly entertaining to see Jax come to terms with his feelings. That eureka moment when he finally realises he has met his match, he wants more and then to see what lengths he would go to, to get what he deemed rightfully his. To see his jealous streak unleashed, I could almost feel that sense of dread for him, I actually hurt for him. As hot as it was entertaining, I thoroughly enjoyed these two quick reads.

I was given an ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Before diving in let's take a moment to stare at the new covers for this series. HAWT!

Part 2 picks right up where Part 1 left off so PLEASE make sure you read Part 1 first.

It might just be me but this story was absolutely hilarious.

Again Jax's inner dialogues were fantastic. So entertaining. Face planting into a shag carpet? Check. Trying valiantly to get back into the saddle after Lizzie but failing miserably? Double Check. Jax's passive aggressive "advice" to Lizzie and the subsequent results of her following his advice was beyond entertaining. In fact I would even recommend not trying to eat or drink while reading this book. Its a choking hazard. Jax breaks character and begins to wallow. I wasn't expecting that. However good old Luce comes to the rescue with a quick swift in the balls. I want a Luce in my life!!! Jax finally remembers who he is (and where his balls are) and then its game on!

Lizzie's POV was much more interesting this time around. She seemed to have broken free with Jax during Part 1 but immediately reverted back to herself and old habits this time around. James was basically a less douchebag-ish Brody. Except now Lizzie knew what else was out there. Watching her valiantly try to lie to herself and James was highly entertaining. And when she finally accepts the truth??? One of the hottest scenes I've read to date. I really need to buy a shag rug....

As is usual for Hawkins style this story is full of witty banter, sneaky pop culture references (I didn't even get them all), and steaming hot sex!

Highlights:
It's hard to pick highlights this time because I was seriously laughing and loving this book the entire way through.

1. My darling Brando makes a few brief appearances. I still stand by him needing his own story.
2. The Ferrari. I won't spoil anything but you will NEVER see this coming.
3. Lizzie and James' disastrous date. Well dates really. Poor guy never stood a chance.

This was a fantastic follow up to an even better debut. I am definitely looking forward to seeing what else Mr. Hawkins has up his sleeves.

While Insatiable is pure hotness and humor, Insatiable 2 is pure play of emotions and seriousness sprinkled with sizzle. Like the tantalizing title, Insatiable will make you ravenous--it's a 'must-read' that will leave you hungry for more. You'll eat up this oh-so-sexy, captivating, humorous, powerful and brilliant book that will swallow your heart, soul, and panties. JD Hawkins' conclusion to his debut story is seductive, soulful, and swoon-worthy with meaningful messages, including: 'A tiger can change his stripes.'

Hot, tall, muscular, blue-eyed, sandy-haired, billionaire Architect and Adonis, Jax, was pure sex, sin, and seducer until beautiful and oh-so-curvy Lizzie did a number on his heart, head, and powerful package when she asked him to teach her the art of seduction.

"I should have known she was trouble when she asked me to teach her how to f**k. Well, I must have done a damn good job, because right now I feel like the entire cosmos just f**ked me."

The seducer may have morphed into the seduced.

The problem is that Lizzie is with James or who she deems 'Mr. Perfect'--an attractive, attentive, family-oriented man ready for marriage and kids who respects her so much that they are taking it slow, so slow that first base may be a permanent situation.

"He's [James] the kind of guy who'll have Lizzie collecting Martha Stewart recipes and buying ornamental plates before she even realizes what's happening."

Lizzie is at war with her heart and panties. She has an itch consuming her body that only Sex Cat Jax may be able to scratch.

"It just wasn't the sex--though the sex alone would have been a life-changing experience--it was him. Feeling desired, being appreciated, and making me understand what I really am--a sexy, confident woman who can call the shots and doesn't need to take any s**t."

The problem for Lizzie as she wages a battle with her head, heart, and panties is that she has no clue if Mr. Casanova or 'The West Coast Playboy' can be captured, if Mr. Sex Cat can be tamed, if Jax is capable of feeling with his heart in addition to those oh-so-hot other parts.

"Jax is most definitely not the guy you want to date...The thought that could have been something more between me and Jax had crossed my mind many times. The sex between us was on another level. It was easy to start feeling something for a guy when he's so good at making you feel like that...I'd have more luck taming wild lions than Jax."

It's hard to believe that this is JD Hawkins' first series, his second book, with writing that is the perfect mix of humor, hotness, and heart.

Some of my favorite hot, hilarious, and entertaining one-liners include:

"I would make girls come so hard it took them weeks to remember what normality felt like."

"She's the kind of woman that looks like she eats men for breakfast, and doesn't spit any part of them out."

"My reservation beyond Lucifer's gates has been booked well in advance, and my attendance is mandatory."

"I'm staring out into a sea of women that would make a ninety-year-old gay guy hard."

Insatiable is indeed a masterpiece, as you'll have difficulty putting this racy and riveting read down. It's pure addiction.

I thought this story and series would be mostly about a playboy's sex life and seduction techniques. I was so wrong. Insatiable is so much more with its many meaningful messages. This book is about being empowered. Embracing your sexuality. Realizing your full potential. Letting your soul shine. Taking a chance and throwing caution to the wind.

I'm still nursing a book hangover from this addicting read, and can't wait for more books by JD Hawkins, an author to watch and stalk as he's fabulous!

5 sexy and soulful stars

A fun, silly, sexy finish to the story of the gorgeous Jax and the determined Lizzie!

This story takes off right where part one finished... Jax was just about to declare his feelings for Lizzie when she goes ahead and turns his whole world upside down and tells him she's met someone! And now she needs dating advice to make sure she doesn't completely "fuck it up."

So, Jax does the only thing he can do. He goes into sabotage mode and begins to give Lizzie advice bad enough to turn off even the nicest, most patient of men and then sits back and waits for Lizzie to come running into his arms. So, why is the phone not ringing? And why is she now talking about meeting the guy's mother!?!

Best bit: Jax and his advice just cracked me up! And J.D Hawkins did a spectacular job of getting Lizzie to fall for it without making her out to be a total idiot (so bonus points Mr. Hawkins!).

Worst bit: It's so short! It took just under two hours to read and I wanted more, more, MORE! I wanted more hilarious dating advice and more banter between Jax and Lizzie... I was addicted!

Funniest bit:

Jax prepping Lizzie for her first date with James:

The problem is that you’re too sexy for your own good. Now that’s great for a guy like me, but with a guy like James, that’s a problem.”
“Well how should I dress? ” I say, sighing with defeat.
“Think about what you wanna project. James is looking for a woman who’s going to settle down and have kids. If you wanna let him know that you’re that kind of girl, you’ve got to dress like it.”
“You’re saying I should dress like a soccer mom?” Jax gives me that shrug again, the one that says ‘of course.’“
Ok, yoga pants and hoodies it is.

"Funny’s no good for James,” Jax says, taking another sip of juice. “Funny is the opposite of serious. And you’re looking to get serious with this guy, right?”
“Well, yeah.”
“Don’t be funny then. Every time you make a joke about something, it shows that you don’t take it seriously. You want to show you’ve got a sense of humor? Laugh at all his jokes, but don’t crack your own."

"Guys… like to get straight to the point... Talk about how many kids you want. About how you’re looking for the white picket-fence with a freshly-mown lawn. About how you want to meet his mother and cook him pot roasts every Sunday. All the stuff a guy like him dreams about."
"That sounds...logical."

Recommendation: Awesome. Funny. Silly. Sexy. With a hint of devious on the side. And that's just Jax. This book is great fun! Can't wait to read more from Mr. Hawkins!

Oh Jax, Jax, Jax. How I love thee!!! …

Part 2 starts right from where poor Jax got his heart broken at the end of part 1. And damn, he really went through the ringer in this book. I guess karma really is a bitch. And she titally kicked his ass!!

Lizzie has ended hers and Jax’s “arrangement” because 1, she was looking for an out. Afraid of actually falling for Jax. The player, the casanova. The wham bam thank you ma’am kinda guy. And 2, because she really did meet someone. James. Oh god. This guy. I laugh just thinking about this poor sap. He’s the safe guy. The good guy. The kinda guy that asks permission for a kiss. Really?! The kinda guy who wants to marry Mrs. Carol fucking Brady. Lizzie goes along with this act. An act that is directed by a very sneaky, sneaky Jax. Offering her “advice” on how to be the woman that James wants. Poor Jax. Believe it or not. My heart broke for this cocky, arrogant man. He finally realizes that Lizzie is the one that he wants. He’s changed. And you see it. But will Lizzie notice? Will she take a gamble on the playboy? Or will she play it safe and stay with James? Cheap wine buyer, may I peck your cheek, who probably wears trousers. James. Good god. I’m laughing again. Well, you will just have to read to find out who is chosen. May I request right now that I vote for James to get his own book. Just a thought.

What I loved about this book is, well, everything. The hotness, the dialogue, the angst. Yes. I’m a sucker for a good angsty book. And OMG the humor. I don’t know how many times I literally died laughing. And not just at James. Poor James. The writing is fresh. Different. And I love different. JD Hawkins came out of nowhere and has rocked the literary world. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, he writes like he’s been doing it for years. I am a forever fan. And I can’t wait to see what he does next. If you haven’t read this series yet, you need to go 1-click the hell out of it!!

I wish I could say that I found my missing spark in this second instalment but sadly I did not.
I hoped Jax and Lizzie would break free from the two dimensional characters they were in the first instalment and give me some real emotion I could relate to, thankfully Jax gave more, but Lizzie left me not only disappointed but with an actually feeling of dislike.
Jax was a better hero for me in this, I did liked how egotistical he was in the first and let's face it, he had a lot to be proud of , but in the second part you get to see how lost and broken he is, the usually confident Jax's has no clue on dealing with heartache.
Now normally I lust for my happy ending, however I found myself less than passionate about this one and that in most part was down to the heroine.
I found her likeable in the first book, but in this, I didn't just find her lacking, I completely disconnected from her. How can she be so completely callous, that one minute she's sexing it up at a wedding with Jax then in the next moment she's planning her future babies with the next dullard she bumps into. I really couldn't believe how she used Jax for not only work, but as a sounding board on how to win over the new guy, it seemed like the confident person she wanted to be in the first book was forgotten and what was left had me wondering why Jax was so smitten in the first place.
Now I know I may of raged a little, but if I lose interest in the characters I lose interest in the out come which is never the ideal way you want to read a book, but lucky I'm in the minority in my feelings for this read so just because I had some issues doesn't mean you will.
This was okay for me, I neither loved or hated it, but I will say that I think the author is someone I'm going to read again, both these books were well written with some nice humour and although not a complete winners for me, I think there's something great to come.
