Once upon a time, there was a dragon, a phoenix and a very, very special pebble This charming Chinese tale has easy-to-read text and fun puzzles to try after the story.
Lesley dreamed of being a writer, but studied law as her mother insisted she had "something to fall back on". Since joining Usborne Publishing, she has written and edited hundreds of books, from funny rhyming stories to an award-winning history book. Nowadays, she is often found recording books, too, in Usborne's very own recording studio.
This is a Chinese folktale that has been retold by Lesley Sims. I enjoyed the story, but felt that it had been shortened a bit too much and missed out some information that the reader might enjoy. That's my view on it anyway. Sadly the CD that was suppose to accompany the book was missing - so maybe there was the much sort after information to fill in the gaps on there. It was still a light easy read and the delightful illustrations made up for the lost in translation part :).
